Food was 2 stars. Waitress was 0. Overall the experience was poor. After ordering fusilli cognac, I received a rotini dish. Not a huge deal, still delicious but I mentioned in the future to please let me know when they are substituting because I would have chosen something else. She proceeds to try to convince me the rotini is really short fusilli, I agreed to disagree and move on with my life. 5 minutes later she comes back with a box of Barilla in my face showing me the fusilli corti again insisting I was wrong. Really?! The pasta in my dish was clearly different but she continued to insist that’s what they served. I was perfectly happy with the meal until this waitress felt the need to beat a dead horse, despite being wrong. Sad that I won’t return because of a waitress and any extremely over cooked shrimp and scallops. It was so over cooked that it was like chewing on leather. For the prices they are charging the food and service should be spot on. P. S. The owner of the business was in the restaurant and none of the staff alerted him of what was going on, nore did he come over to find out what was going on.

Came here on a whim for some chicken parm. From the second we sat down, our waters were constantly being refilled, service was very attentive, granted there was only one other occupied table, it was nice. The waitress was very knowledgable about their specials and how every dish was prepared. They serve warm garlic bread with a chopped tomato side, tomatoes are my favorite, so this excited me. The chicken parm was $ 18 and came with a side of pasta, I asked for a salad instead. The salad they served was just a small plate of mixed greens with dressing, not impressive. the chicken parm however was fantastic! Large serving, fresh cheese, lightly browned in some spots, the chicken was moist and perfectly sauced, breaded and cheesed. We were very pleased with our meal. I would come back here for chicken parm again and again. The only negative for me was the décor it seems a bit outdated and mismatched. It could definitely get a makeover, also, it’s a bit bright for an italian restaurant.

If I could submit without selecting a star I would. I have never met a more rude owner/hostess ever. Apparently they only welcome their regulars.

Delicious! Great service and food! Authentic Italian restaurant not limiting you to their menu … They will prepare anything you would like! Kids welcome, friendly, you will not be dissapointed!

About the only thing good about the place was the bread they put on the table. Was thankful that we ate that. The food was terrible. The chicken was rubbery and the veal was a patty. Nothing fresh or homemade about the place. Dissapointed. We were checking it out for a party.

Went there on a Sunday evening after reading some of the reviews. Everything was great, the décor, the service the food was good too… until I bit into a whole raw garlic clove in my sauce. That made me nauseous and the meal was over. Such a shame they didn’t pay attention. I’m hesitant to go back.

We recently had a private party at Ubaldo and it was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and everyone commented on how delicious the food was… would highly recommend!

The new bistro down the street from here, Hush, took my reservation on Open Table, but when I walked in with my friend tonight, they said it was a mistake and they weren’t open for business yet. Okay. Library Café had a 30 – 40 minute wait, and I have yet to have a good experience at Cara Cara, so my friend and I hit up Ubaldo’s. It’s a little throwback Italian restaurant, with live music(playing all your Sinatra faves), and what looks like a little regular following. Very friendly, very good, and I would totally go back. We each had a salad and gnocchi(my friend had the Tri Color salad and gnocchi with bolognese, I had a Caesar and gnocchi with pesto); all was delicious. Service was very good. They give you bread with olive oil and a side of chopped tomatoes; nice touch. I highly recommend!

They uses to be amazing but I think they changed owners. Last time I went there, The food was not that bad but the service was something else. When we got there we sat right down but I had to ask them three times for the menu before I got up and got them myself. It took them another twenty minutes before they brought out the bread and took our order for beverages and food. As a start, the bread was reheated and not fresh. We ordered the fried calamari which was not as tender as it should have been and was very bland. The food came out, the main courses were decent, but nothing to rant about. At the end, we had to wait about a half hour just to get the check. Overall, the service was not very good but the food was not bad.

When in Farmingdale do as the Dalers do. I’ve tried Ubaldos last summer and started off with the fried stuffed zucchini flowers which totally got my mouth to watering! Next up was the swordfish in a brilliant light tomato and caper sauce. Holy Hannah it was mad delish. My friends all enjoyed their meals as well. Definitely worth the trip.

Average. I’ve been to Ubaldo’s twice recently. The first time was for my rehearsal dinner and it was wonderful. The food was good, the staff friendly and we were able to walk right over to St. Kilian’s afterwards. Based on that good experience we decided to check it out again for dinner on a Monday night and the second time around was just average. The food wasn’t spectacular but it also wasn’t bad, the staff and place is not but definitely not worth the prices.

Ubaldo’s is a top notch old school Italian restaurant. It’s regular style, huge portions I love their Caesar salad and bake clams. Their dinners are made with pure love. They don’t have a huge menu, but everything is quality and made with TLC. All of us in Farmingdale are lucky to have this little gem close by.

I have dined here many times and on Friday, 4÷26÷2013 what a big disappointment! We have had birthday parties and the food had always been outstanding! I don’t know if the have a new chef, but from the appetizer, main course and dessert not one good thing to say! Sorry Ubaldo’s, when you good, your very very good, but when your bad we won’t be coming back! Carol B Westbury

Visited last night before a movie based again on Unilocal reviews. The outstanding 5 star rating is definitely overstated or the reviewers were friends of the owner. I’m not sure what part of Italy there food represents. We started with Eggplant Rollatini which had no discernable ricotta and was very dry with little seasoning. My entrée was Rigatoni Bolagnase sans any sauce was not what I expected, dry and tasteless. Vegetables served as side were soggy and luke warm. Prices are too high to serve anything but 1st rate Italian… we probably should have tried Tre Scalini just north on main street. I don’t believe we will return.

My BF and I were in the Farmingdale area last night and we decided to try out Ubaldo’s. I was here once in November only for some live music at the bar(I would skip that if they ever have it again) and checked out the reviews on Unilocal(which are all really good) and kept it in mind to try. We got there at around 10:00 and the waiter wasn’t sure if we could be seated due to the kitchen closing. He checked in the back and asked what we wanted and said we could stay. We sat at a table in the front. The place is fairly small yet cozy. We split the calamari appetizer which came with a spicy marinara sauce that I really liked. For the main course, we split chicken parmigiana with penne pasta. As stated in one of the reviews, it tastes like homemade Italian food. We both really enjoyed the meal. Total came to $ 40. Score!

This is the best Italian restaurant I have been to on Long Island, without a doubt. The atmosphere, service, staff and most importantly food is incredible! This is a place to dine, not eat and run. Before they even give you menus, they take your drink order and bring out some amazing garlic bread and bruschetta. The menu offers great appetizers(buffalo mozzarella is a must!) and main courses. Then they will go over the specials — they will basically make you anything that you want, so long as they have it in the kitchen! They have a nice wine list, and won’t ever rush you through a meal. If I had enough money, I would eat here every single night!

I make it a point to make time to visit Ubaldo’s each time I am in the Farmingdale area. The food is excellent, the service is fantastic and they will be more than happy to make you any dish not on the menu as long as they have the ingredients in the kitchen. Definitively worth a visit.

The food is excellent, Ubaldos is a great neighbor restaurant with food like your grandmother made(if your grandmother was born in Calabria). Ubaldo and his wife are wonderful hosts, and the staff makes you feel at home. A must try.
