Their food is very good. I come here every time I go to the airport to pickup my sisters. Their blood Soondae deal is cheap. You have to buy more than 4 pound and get it for 5 dollars I think.

Omg terrible service. Waitstaff literally throw utensil at you. Beware of catching ! she dropped napkins on the floor and gave it to you infront of your table. Oh water, we patiently waited how long its taking her to get us water. Guess what. She gave us water same time as food. Most of soup comes with rice, we got it middle of our meal. Oh fyi, there was only two table included our table. She ended our meal very nicely by throwing Kim chi plate to our face. Great job. She was saying the floor was slippery. Yea right. Good food tho. But be ware of catching !!!

Soondae-gook was so good. I asked them for only soondaes in the soup. Side dishes(banchan) were fine. Some of them were kind of old and dried though. They didn’t give me salted shrimp sauce(saewoojeot) so I had to ask them. I also asked for sesame seeds to put into the soup so they gave me some but it wasn’t ground. It was just whole seeds. Haha. Wish they had some basic sauces for soondae-gook on the tables such as ground sesame seeds, chopped jalapeños and salted shrimp sauce. I will come back for soondae-gook.

I had to circle the area three times in order to find this hidden restaurant. But it was worth it! I had the Medium Soondae without organs. Next time, I will try the Soondae Bokum. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Also, she didn’t stress out as she was the only server working.

Honestly didn’t have high expectations when I came here knowing that their specialty was Soondae. Soondae is a blood sausage that I never really put much thought into to be honest. It’s something that I’ve begun to like but more so to accompany other dishes. We ended up ordering Soondae gook(blood sausage soup) and the broth was rich and hearty! Absolutely loved it. The Spicy Chicken Bul-Dak had the right about of sweetness and spicyness and was definitely the star dish of the night. Lastly the Soondae was tasty and went well with the other dishes and banchan. I actually really found the banchan selection to be tasty and refreshing offering a nice selection of kimchi, radishes, and potato salad with apples. I could definitely foresee language barriers here but the service was actually very friendly and lady was more than happy to refill banchans. If you feel like trying something new or have a taste for blood sausage then Soondae Nara is the place!

What the heck is wrong with this restaurant! I called the restaurant earlier today to ask what time they’re closing and they told me at 9pm. My family and I drove from Tacoma and arrived at the restaurant at 7:30pm to find the restaurant closed!!! WTH!

Not the best soups(I ordered the soodae and my girlfriend got the galbitang) I’ve ever ordered, but it was affordable and still good. Friendly service. Lacks ambiance… big time.

This was my first experience here and MOSTLIKELY my last experience at Soodae Nara. When I was young, there was another place in Fed. Way that had BOMB soondae (or maybe it was only good because I have eaten there 99% of the time– my whole life). Either way, my dad said it either went bad or it closed down. I miss that place. It was so delicious! Anyways. this had a strange«minty? leafy?» scent/taste to it and I did not favor it much Other than that strange scent, the soondae texture and flavor was alright, maybe good enough to rank up 1 star. The service wasn’t the best from what I’ve seen today but my dad ordered in advance before my family got there so I don’t know how the lady treated him. My mom kept asking for more of this and more of that and the lady was consistent in bringing the items. Her attitude was not pleasing at all. she totally seemed as if she did not want to be there right now. BTW, the inside. made me cringe. It looks so dingy. and old. and cramped… luckily. we got the round table in the corner so it was spacious enough yet. after 10 minutes of eating, a rush of people came in and it was suddenly crowded. We also had the bbokum(fried) soondae and it was ehh… the intestines and things. my mom complained saying it was too chewy and outdated. Overall. it wasn’t a great family dining experience and it ruined the mood because our family rarely gets to eat out with my dad since he is always busy.

Love their soondae but their service seems shitty and rude. My mom always buys some for my family when they visit from oregon or canada so they can take it back. When I visited from LA we also stopped by to pick some up since we had soondaegook at another restaurant in federal way. My mom once bought 5 pounds of soondae and wanted to buy one pound packed separately, and the woman said fucking«NO» and packed her 5 pounds and another 2 pounds separately and just charged her. Uh thanks for listening to the customer and letting her know you won’t do that shit but just charge her more. They have apparently a 2 pound minimum to wrap it up, but come the fuck on, we already bought FIVEFUCKINGPOUNDS. Yeah, just for that 2 stars ya bitch.

If you’re looking for top-notch soondae, this is where you need to go. My family has been going here for almost 6 years now, and our only complaint that it’s not very close to home… But that being said, when we do go, it’s ALWAYS worth the trip! We usually get the soondae bokum(sauteed with vegetables and rice cakes) which is perfectly spiced and the fried rice(TRUST – their fried rice is actually among the best I’ve had). Oh, and my mom always gets 3 pounds of regular soondae to go, so we can still eat it at home in Bellevue without having to drive all the way to Fed Way.

Not a cozy place, but reminds me of Korean street foods! Feels like Korea! The blood sausage is SOFREAKINGDELICIOUS!!! Just the owner’s attitude can be not friendly. We ordered another Korean blood sausage to-go because it was so good, but she was saying with an angry tone«You should have ordered another one when you were making an order» What the hell with that attitude. The food is delicious though.

We were looking for Soondae Nara based on it’s glowing Unilocal reviews. When we arrived at that address, we found Pacific Chinese Deli & Teriyaki. Huh. The restaurant was full of Koreans, the food was Korean, so we sat at the large round table where the hostess seated us and began pouring through the menu. Everything sounded good so it was difficult to know what to choose — between the 8 of us, we had 2 appetizers, 4 entrees and plate after plate of kimchee. I regret not taking a copy of the menu with me to note what we ate. The food was DELICIOUS! I especially like the flavor and texture of their specialty, the blood sausage — it was almost bread-pudding like in texture. The place was packed at 4pm — a good sign. This is not a fancy place — there was newspaper covering spills on the floors and a number of tables were slow to be cleared(it’s a small staff).(My only reason for giving it 4 stars in cleanliness — the food is DIVINE.) I thought the hostess was warm and welcoming — she checked in with us regularly — and when she saw how enthusiastic about the food we(pale faces) were — she kept surprising us with another treat from the kitchen. We ate beyond capacity(it was that good) and the total bill was under $ 35 without tip. I wish this place were closer, I’d eat there all the time!

Wifey are in town visiting, and I ALWAYS eat Korean food when I’m in town. I had read some good reviews and just HAD to check this place out. I went for the meduim Soondae(came with plenty for one person). Wifey had the Dolsot Bibimbop. The Soondae was awesome, especialy with the pink sea salt and shrimp sauce. The ban chan was pretty good too. I ended up taking about half of my food to go, and ate it again for dinner. The Soondae was awesome, better than any I’ve ever had!

My husband wanted to come here after reading the previous reviews and has always wanted to try blood sausage. After driving around the parking lot 3 times, we finally felt confident that we found the place. There was no sign in the front with the name of the restaurant but once we were inside, it was good. The inside is small with about 8 tables. My husband ordered the blood sausage(soondae) and I ordered the Dolsot Bimbibop. I was going to order the Pork Bulgogi but decided to go with something I had never eaten before. The menu looked to be typical of some of the Korean restaurants I had been to. After ordering, the girl brought us the soondae(with shrimp sauce and a seasoned salt) and some cold soup with pickled radish. I did not like the soondae, but my husband really enjoyed it. I really liked my dish which came in a cast iron bowl that cooked my dish as I mixed the rice, raw egg, vegetables, and beef. Our server also brought some bean paste to add to the dishes if we preferred. The food was really good and prices were reasonable($ 7 – 11) on average.

I love this place! Their soondae(Korean blood sausage) is always delicious and we order it to go by the pound. This little spot is somewhat hard to find in Federal Way and we drove by several times before we realized where it was even though it’s right on Pacific Hwy. Besides the blood sausage, which is really more noodles and rice, they also have traditional korean dishes like Kalguksu with handmade noodles. It is a noodles in soup dish usually served with clams, green onions, enoki mushrooms and black pepper. It’s a great comfort food. Each dish also come with a little server of mixed chili paste to add to the dish to make it spicy. The Yookgejang is also very tasty. It’s a spicy, fiery red colored shredded beef soup with gosaree(fern bracken sprouts), lots of green onions, potato starch noodles and egg that’s been cooked in the broth. We also usually order the Ddukbokee, which is another Korean junk food that an old favorite. Soondae Nara’s is a seafood base that is spicy and sweet. The little rice cake logs are always soft but chewy and there are bits of shrimp and squid along with green and white onions. Despite the small space, the banchan has always been fresh and flavorful. The gal we usually see is always happy to refill if we want more. They also do a lot of teriyaki take out but it’s their Korean specialties that really stand out. The service is always nice and it’s usually a Korean co-ed. The waitresses/hostesses have always been polite and check up on us regularly. I’d go to this place more often if it were closer!

Soondae Nara in Federal Way is a small husband/wife team Korean joint that serves excellent soondae(Korean blood sausage with vermicelli) along with other standard menus. They serve Korean soondae in several different ways; 1. steamed with seasoned salt for dipping. 2. in beef broth with vegetables 3. bo-kum(sauteed at table with vegetable and rice cakes)(serves 2~3?) SN also feature extensive teriyaki menu for unadventurous. I’m giving 5 stars because there are only couple of Korean restaurants that specialized in Soondae and SN does it right. PS: I know many Korean food lovers like kimchi but you really have to try their Kak-tu-gi(cubed radish kimchi)!! Oh, and I don’t think they serve banchan if you just order teriyaki…
