Starbucks

This has always been my go to location for Starbucks coffee dates with friends in the Federal Way/​Northeast Tacoma area. The Starbucks is smaller than most, but has a reasonably sized sitting area with couches and tables to meet the busyness of the location. It is the one drive thru location in the Northeast Tacoma area, so most of the business I would say comes predominantly from drive thru. Great service from the staff, and the store is always clean. Definitely a Starbucks location to come study at if you need somewhere quiet to work.

My Neighborhood Starbucks. Today, against the mornings gloomy and cold backdrop, Starbucks was playing classical music on their outdoor patio. It was warm and cozy inside, and the lighting was just slightly dim, as it should be. People were chatting and laughing. The atmosphere was perfect.
I love the layout of this location. It’s rectangular in shape. The indoor seating area is at the entrance, and you order at the back. This location hasn’t been remodeled, but I like it the way it is now. I’m always impressed at the speed these girls work. This morning, I was about 6 people deep in the line, and got served in under two minutes. I was out in about 5 minutes. The employees here aren’t warm and fuzzy, but they’re nice. I did notice them chatting it up with some customers. I suppose if you’re a regular regular, they notice you. Me, I get Starbucks about once about a month. Probably not happenin’. My Caramel Waffle Cone Frappuccino tasted fine, not as great as others I’ve had. I’ll be trying the S’mores Frappuccino next.
This Starbucks has a great location, near Walgreens, Brown Bear Car Wash, & Dash Point State Park. The plaza this Starbucks is in has some great award-​winning restaurants in and around it — Mediterranean Gyro Grill, Pimienta Bistro & Bar, Northshore Thai Cuisine, and Yoko’s Teriyaki Bistro. 8^th Day Spa across the street is voted Federal Way’s Best Day Spa.

Everyone is super friendly at this Starbucks, it’s my favorite one to go to! Their drinks are consistently made well, they make their drinks in a timely manner and the staff are great! Everyone smiles, shares a friendly comment and is very genuine!

For a neighborhood Starbucks, this café deserves 5 stars for its customer service and location. I walked in and was greeted by the cashier. Service was super quick on a ‘lax Sunday in residential Federal Way. The dark-​haired, lady barista was very kind as she chatted with me while she made my drink. Who says baristas cannot be like bartenders? Location is phenomenal as it is located in a small strip mall with Walgreens, Kindercare, Great Clips, and some express eateries all nearby. Last but not least, it’s 3 miles away from Dash Point Park so I can see and smell the ocean.

It’s a Starbucks. You know what to expect. Small counter area, but nice sized lobby and outdoor seating. They also have a drive through which is nice when the weather is bad. As a former barista, I’m super judgmental, but the partners there have always been super friendly and have never messed up my drink.

I didn’t find anyone rude like the person who put the cockroach pic on the profile. All businesses will have creepy crawlers. I can sit in many and probably find some.
They store is far from a dirty business and the place looks well kept. It’s a nice little location. You walk in and its a deep rectangular store. Seating is up front as soon as you walk in and they have two comfy chairs in the corner with a coffee table like most shops have. the rest are tables and stools typical of the usual seating.
You’ll find some sale items such as cups and other coffee paraphanelia 30% off clearly signed mid way through the store. The refrigerated unit is nicely stocked and the pastries look fresh and good. All in all… it was a quiet visit, but I would hope they get more business in the mornings. I would rather come here then to the QFC Starbucks. They don’t have wifi and cell service is poor. The wifi here comes in excellent.
I did notice they have a drive through window in the rear of the store. I suppose you have to drive by the Kindercare place towards the back of the building to get to it.
Quick service, friendly, order done in a timely manner as requested. No funny stuff, pure business which is just fine. I will be back when I have another visit to my spa salon near-​by.

My husband and I occasionally would pass by this particular Starbucks and every time the service is always pleasant. For the Halloween speciality drink they offered the frapula! I absolutely love that drink and recommend it. I’m not sure how long they’ll have it for though.

They get my drink order wrong about 40% of the time. It seems like the weekday morning staff is the only stuff that can get my drink right. The other day I went there in the afternoon on a Saturday and went through the drive-​thru told them I order 3 times and after they double triple check everything when up to the window got my coffee and what do you know if I drove away I tasted it and it was wrong so I went back to the drive thru and told them that it was wrong so they remade it I drove away tasted it and what do you know they got it wrong again! I ended up just going to the QFC Starbucks and they got it wrong as well lol I was having a bad coffee day I guess. Seems like if I ever come here at any time other than morning on a weekday they will absolutely get my drink wrong. I wish I could trust all the stuff to make my drink correctly :-(

What can you say about old 5 bucks that has not been said already?

My drink was made wrong and tasted watery, so I waited patiently as three separate baristas stood directly in front of me and avoided eye contact. That’s the last damn $ 5 coffee I’m ever buying from *any* Starbucks.

Great location, fast service, great coffee but they NEVER have the food I want. If you’re planning on getting food you have to get it in the morning anytime after 12 they are out of a lot of stuff.

The workers are always kind and I have no problem with fixing your order. However my order comes out right almost every time. The only problem I have with it is the location. The drive thru is complicated, especially since it blocks parking spots and the line can get pretty long.

Slow slow slow Starbucks its a typical fast food place. Rude staff and the people think they are on some high pedestal although they work in fast food. What really made me give only one star is the fact they have cockroaches here! I already contacted the county and reported this location, what’s worse is that they already are aware of it! Never going to Starbucks again, largely due to finding a cockroach in the bottom of my drink!

Not a bad Starbucks — they haven’t yet remodeled so they have a decent sitting area (I’m sure that will change sooner than later). Drinks were fine and service was friendly.

So my strawberry and cream tasted like water. I didn’t want to be rude or complain and was contempt with drinking it anyway. As I was walking out, the barista Karolina overheard my disappointment, and gladly offered a solution to my problem. I got a pump of raspberry syrup and it really fixed it. I walked out happy with my drink and the service I received. Will definitely visit this Starbucks again the next time I visit Seattle.

I went through the drive through a few weeks ago. I never got the name of the person who made my drink, but it was awesome! I usually order some variation of a dry cappuccino, and the baristas at other stores end up giving me the equivalent of a wet cappuccino… As a former barista, I know that it can sometimes be difficult to get the right amount of foam, but sometimes you just have to steam some extra milk. The girl who made my cappuccino made it perfect, though. It was one of the best I have ever had. :)

I am giving two stars partially because the last three times my order was made incorrectly and had to be remade. They were friendly about it and the end result was good, but that’s a pretty high rate of mistakes.
Here’s the big reason for two stars: Last time I went with a family member that orders the same drink each day, a hot chocolate with peppermint flavor. Recently, they have been charged, several times, for the holiday peppermint mocha. The baristas here have been irritated and rude with this family member when she corrects THEIR mistake. This was confirmed to be a mistake by the corporate office, which we called to confirm with. All that some barista’s can say is «I just push the buttons» in a exasperated way… well maybe then can use their brains next time and ask a manager. These people desperately need more training in customer service. As a former sales person, I was trained to respect and treat customers as if they are always right, even if I though they were mistaken. Its NOT about YOU as a sales person, its about the CUSTOMER!!! Learn that or work somewhere else.
PS — As a family we spend thousands per year at Starbucks for coffee and food and you are going to loose that revenue.

4 stars for never getting my drinks and food orders wrong. WOOHOOOOOO!!!
You guys rock at starting my Sundays out right. And the drive thru is relatively fast compared to what I’m used to at other Starbucks. High five Hoyt. You guys definitely give Starbucks a good name.

There is a regular retiree here on weekday mornings who is way LOUD and tells everyone his life. So if you need a quiet place to study in the AM you may want to try another venue. Otherwise an ok shop.

Yet another decent Starbucks. Good seating, but it can get a little bottle-​necked at the counter if there are several people waiting for their drinks.
They made our drinks well, and the location was clean.
