Thai bistro is decorated very nice and I think that’s what you’re paying for. The first time I went with a friend I got the panang curry and I asked for 5 star and it just wasn’t spicy at all and it was runny. The second time I went I got the same thing and asked how high I could go up in stars and she said«however many you want each star is equal to once scoop of spices» so I said okay I want 20. She came back with my curry and it just was not spicy at all lol. When I think about it it’s funny but it wasn’t funny then.

Let’s start with the good. The inside is decorated beautifully. Comfortable and spacious seating. Unfortunately, I was not nearly impressed with the food. I can only speak for the appetizers. I’m a firm believer that you can judge a restaurant based on their apps. I ordered the crab rangoon(named something else per their menu) and spring rolls. I was expecting a made in house crab ran but got an obvious frozen in bag variation. The«plum» sauce was what seemed like watered down sweet and sour. No. Just no. If you’re going to have plum sauce on the menu, serve it! Onto the spring rolls. Not a lot of veggies and lacking any sort of flavor. Not even the watered down sweet and sour could rescue these two dishes. Even the Thai iced tea was off. When in the area again, I don’t believe I’ll return.

Love this place! Totally vegan friendly! The deep fried spring rolls, fried rice, pad Thai and pad see ew are all exceptional! Pass on the ice cream though! Highly recommended! I come here all the time! Love the totally veggie section of the menu where there are no animal products in the food!

Thai Bistro is pretty spacious inside. I ordered the Combo B. And the lamb appetizer. The lamb rib chop is really small for $ 10. However, the peanut sauce was so good. I used that to flavor the noodles in my combo. They were a match made in heaven. My wife and daughter both ordered a Combo D. They raved about the orange beef. How flavorful, with a light crunchy texture. Horrible soup comes with every lunch. They have a expanded menu, with so many great looking items. I will have to try some duck next time. The service staff very friendly, which almost got Thai Bistro a 4 star. Maybe my next visit i will give them 4 or 5 stars.

No. Came here once and won’t return. Thai Bistro is decorated pleasantly with bamboo and color. The tables are a nice wood, and the chairs are attractive and comfortable. I ordered panang curry with chicken. My date got some kind of vegetable noodle dish, I don’t remember. When our entrees were served, I stared at my bowl. I was given the smallest portion I have ever seen of curry. It had one piece of chicken in the entire bowl. Just a couple pieces of peppers. That was it. $ 14 for that? Meanwhile, the date’s entrée was a large portion with a lot of vegetables and plentiful noodles. He shared his food with me, and I left hungry. The waiter never checked on us. My glass was emptied fast and never refilled. My date had to ask for the check. I didn’t bother complaining about the dish as my date did that on my behalf when he talked to the waiter before he ran his credit card. My date took us to get burgers elsewhere because we were both still hungry. Food: 2 Service: 2 Parking: 3 Ambiance: 3.5

Love this restaurant. The inside is very uniquely decorated. The food never has left me disappointed and they always serve nice sized portions. There so often the staff has memorized my order and where my significant other and I like to sit. Favorite place in Federal Way.

I just want to say this is my go to spot for Thai food. The staff is super attentive and food is always consistent. I got the fresh spring rolls to start and it was perfect. Sometimes the outside wrapper can be too gummy or sticky but it was on point. I decided to go with the Thai Bistro Fried rice that had all different kinds of meats with 3 stars and it again was prepared exactly the way I like it. The rice wasn’t heavy and clunky it was sesoned just right. My only negative feedback is the glass tea cups are a bit weird but other than that everything was spot on. This is a perfect place for a good consistent Thai experience. Once I get my craving for Thai I will be back.

Thai Bistro is hands down the best Thai food. And on top of that great value and wonderful wait staff — friendly, knowledgable and attentive. It’s our go to eating destination after USA Swimming Meets at the King County Aquatics Center that’s just down the street!

Went with my family and usually Asian restaurants are a bit on the slow side with service, but this place was really on their A game. The décor was beautiful and added to the ambiance. Appetizers: Eggrolls were very refreshing, I loved that it was only vegetable, so it made the dish light. Plus it wasn’t soggy! Entrée: Pad Thai tofu and the pad thai chicken were both ok it was a little to sweet for my taste buds. Beef drunken noodles was my favorite!!! I love that dish, you will not regret ordering it. Panang Curry was another favorite of mine, I love putting the sauce of my rice. The sweet combination of savory and sweetness from the coconut milk played very well with my palate I’d come here again!

Love this place. It’s our go to for Thai. We always get the chicken pad Thai and pineapple fried rice and it has never disappointed. We’ve also tried their calamari and spring rolls which were also yummy. The service is great and food comes out pretty quick. We will definitely keep coming back!

We use to love this place but are finding it is not as good as it was when they opened. Tonight we went with the family to celebrate a birthday and all of us agreed — the food was definitely lacking in taste — not just one meal but all of them. We were greeted in the normal friendly manner and they accommodated our group of 7. My wife and I usually start by splitting a half order of Tom Yum soup which we ordered. They brought us two ½ bowls. We said we only wanted one(if we wanted two half bowls — why not split a full bowl — would be cheaper.) Person delivering apologized and said he would take care of it but left both bowls since they couldn’t resell.(That was a plus) However both were on the final bill. The soup did not have the lime taste I am use to and neither of us really enjoyed the flavor. All the rest of the dishes were not up to the standards they use to have — agreed upon by 4 adults and we have found this to be true the last few times we have come. Not our taste buds since we have another Thai place(not as nice in decoration) but the food is much tastier. NOTE — not just spice — we usually order two but our family usually gets 3 and 4 so we had a variety. It is a nice looking and comfortable place but unless the food get better we will be going to the other Thai location. We also found they are less attentive to us then they use to be and we had to ask for refills on water since they did not stop by.

Recommended by a friend, we were not disappointed. Really cool décor, friendly staff. Cream cheese crab, fresh rolls, pad Thai, and another dish I don’t recall the name but we shared everything. It was all good. The only negative I have is that the place needs a good dusting.

This place was really modern and the décor was so cute but that was all I really liked. I came with a fairly large party for dinner and the service was so slow. We chose this place because we assumed Thursday night football at BWW would be to chaotic and service here wasn’t even all the impressing. I ordered pad kee mao just because I’m boring and don’t like changes. It had a really subtle flavor, borderline bland. I guess that’s better than being overly salty or sweet haha. Dinner wasn’t too bad here I just don’t think I’ll want to come back here in the future if I ever want Thai food. Who knows? Maybe I’ll have to try other dishes before I shun this place.

This was my second time here and again, the experience was just meh. The food is adequate, the service is slow, and the restaurant is pretty tidy. The one thing I like about Thai Bistro though is that they have a section in the menu dedicated to vegetarians, which is very nice and convenient. I ended up going with the Vegetable Curry this time around and it was okay. The baby corn was a no-go though — super sour and tough to chew, yuck.

Thai Bistro bears the distinction of being the most wonderful and original Thai restaurant that I have visited in a while. It was actually Unilocal that brought me here; many of the nearby restaurants had only three stars, so I chose this one instead. I even sat in my car until their opening time at 11:00AM. I was in Federal Way one morning and had to find out what this restaurant was like. They were quite prompt in bringing me the lunch special menu, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering how I was one of their first customers that day. This lunch special menu had seven items, five of them with accompanying pictures. There were no generic items like Pad Thai or swimming rama; most of the items here were unexpected. I took that to be a good sign hinting toward authenticity. I left the table briefly to use the bathroom, and it was clean and well-maintained. When I got back, they already had a bowl of soup waiting there for me. It was just a plain pork and tofu soup in a tiny bowl, but the rest of the meal turned out much better. I ordered the Kao Soy(curry noodle soup) for $ 10.95 that arrived at my table within twelve minutes. I’m impressed with the speed of delivery because of the effort that probably had to go into making this. Kao Soy is an expertly crafted dish that I will need to try again. It consisted of egg noodles and chicken within the most delicious coconut curry and a ton of garnish. The curry was so runny that it basically served as a soup for the noodles, and I loved this idea. The whole thing was so good, but I left without consuming all the curry as it was quite filling. More importantly, this restaurant was something new to me for a change and I would have to come back if I ever found myself in this area.
