A must go if you’re in the Delaware or Ocean City beach areas(or if you live nearby). The homemade muffins and breads are delightful, my favorite is the coconut! Honestly, you can’t go wrong here and the seafood is always fresh. Great meal, friendly and quick service. The tiki bar has an awesome vibe in the summer and I’ve never had a bad meal. If you enjoy brunch they also have a tasty menu with Eggs Neptune being my personal favorite. Check this place out… you’ll be happy you did!

We never miss a trip to Harpoon Hanna’s when we are in town. In the summer there is nothing better than an orange crush at the Tiki Bar and taking in the view while enjoying the live music(which is some of the best we have heard in the area). All year round the food is great. Anything they do with their crab is delicious but particularly the crab dip and crab pizza. Highly recommend!

Busy all year round, especially on Friday and Saturday night. We went Jan 17th and by the time we left around 7:15pm, there was a line out the door. So maybe make reservations ahead. We got there at 5:30pm and sat within a few minutes. The décor isn’t all that special — nothing to write home about and the tables are VERYVERY small. We had a party of 6 adults, one child and we were jammed into the table and had to put food along the wall that separates the upstairs from the downstairs. Even with that, we still had no room for plates and drinks, and we bumped elbows the whole time. So for comfort, décor, and atmosphere — I give Harpoon Hanna’s 1 star. This is a more expensive place and I want to enjoy what I eat — not spend the whole time juggling plates and wiping crab juice off my face from the person seated next to me. Seriously, we were so close to each other that every time a crab claw was cracked, it ended up all over us. That blows. That ruins the food experience… Which is a shame because the food is tasty. The seafood pasta was a hit(although amount of crab meat was inconsistent between the three orders). The mahi was delish, but kinda on the small side. But still, it tasted great. The all-you-can-eat crab legs and ribs was also yummy but you need a larger table where you can bend your elbows to fully enjoy that one. The crab penne was a let down — it was bland and dry. Definitely boxed penne pasta, not fresh or handmade. The drinks were strong — for some in our party that was a good thing, for others they were too strong to drink. The fried mozzarella was good, but also something boxed/pre-made. Okay menu for the little ones — a child can find something to eat on it. The service was about a B+. For the money, I would have preferred to see a few more fresh pastas. But all in all, we would probably go back — although it won’t be a spot we frequent often. The claustrophobic size of the tables was just too distracting and challenging to enjoy the food.

We went on a Monday night for their all you can eat special. It was very crowded and we had to wait about 30 minutes as a result. The all you can eat crab legs were delicious and plentiful. I had a crab cake, which wasn’t great as it had too little lump crab meat. The service was a little slow, but the server was nice. Decent, but nothing to rave about…

My family and I came here for dinner after Christmas Eve mass. I had never been, but my parents have been here a few times. What a great place! Their coconut and blueberry muffins are absolutely delicious! My crabby burger was quite good and so is their Maryland Crab soup and French Onion. Definitely will be back!

Years ago, we loved HH. I keep trying to like it again, but the insanity quote comes to mind(do the same thing and expect different results) Dinner at 6:30 on a Friday night off season for 3. Service was quicker than expected, food was average at best. Grilled shrimp on the menu, Caesar salad on the menu, but couldn’t combine — could offer broiled shrimp. So I went with fish and chips. They may not grill, but they can fry up a hard thin piece of fish. After having this consistently served in New England, I’ll skip it at the shore. The only saving grace was the Coke slaw and free rolls! Dining companions had a crab cake sandwich and a salad. No rave reviews there. Will think twice I hope before going here again for a $ 25 dinner that would have been better almost anywhere else.

Never had the pleasure of enjoying a meal at Harpoon Hanna’s, but it is the absolute best place to hang out with some friends and have a couple of drinks. The deck bar provides a great breeze and backdrop for an evening of fun, after a long day spent on the beach. It’s also a great place to jetski right up to and enjoy a few drinks. Hmmm… I keep saying drinks, now I get why I like the place.

Seemed nice at first — nice looking place, ordered drinks right away. Then we waited forever to order food, and waited a long time to order more drinks. Food was so-so. Service was awful! The guy we had pretty much ignored us. They didn’t take our bill for our food. Then tried to keep $ 10 in change from playing Keno.

Average at best. What I remember most is fried fish and too salty. Great atmosphere on bay but food just isn’t worth it.

So I came in with my husband and son expecting a long wait on Labor Day. We had no wait at 5:30 on Saturday! I had prime rib and our service was fantastic. The coconut muffins were great and I loved the prime rib and tropical salad. Our bill was $ 57 which I thought was inexpensive for at the beach! I recommend Harpoon Hanna’s at sunset, it’s quite pretty. Thank you Harpoon Hanna’s!

Good appetizers. Nice setting. Good drinks. Ends there. All our main dishes were average to below average. — Seafood sampler — rated average by member of our party — Crab cake — too much mayo — stringy — Beer battered fish /chips — on kids menu — could taste beer in batter — really bad — Fried clams — this was acceptable to our small eater We would only go here for apps. Coconut shrimp — good.

I’m giving it 3 just because the service and the watered butter. Seriously!!! Watered butter anyone!!! So disrespectful butter is cheap ok! My husband was so disappointed with the oysters we come every year and now with all the kids that come only for summer they don’t do a good job! I got the grilled tuna which was ok with a spinach salad and a loaded potato I want to get a 2 glass of wine but who knows where my server was! So annoying

The positives: The coconut muffins that come as a complement with your meal are outstanding. We always order extra to warm up for breakfast the next morning. Better than any bakery. And the prime rib is a very generous cut of meat with good flavor. The negatives: If you order shrimp, you’re not going to get your money’s worth. About half a dozen relatively small specimens. Looks more like an appetizer than an entrée. And when you order a to-go dinner here, they always — always! — forget to include sauces, such as the cocktail sauce for fried shrimp or the orange sauce for the coconut shrimp. It doesn’t matter how many times you mention it when you place the order. It doesn’t matter if you ask them when you pick up the meal if they remembered to include sauces. THEYALWAYSFORGETTHESAUCE.

This is our last night in Delaware, so I wanted to try Harpoon Hannas. Our host Cindy loves this place. I must say that the reviewers on here have either had a bad day, they are hard to please or don’t have a clue. When this place gets a 4 star average rating from 500+ reviews on Trip Advisor but Unilocalers can barely muster 3 star average, it makes me wonder about those who have reviewed it! Even though the parking lot was pretty full, we didn’t have to wait to be seated. Good thing we came early, because as we were leaving we overheard someone say that the wait was 20 minutes. We sat on the open air deck, just walking through the inside dinning room made me glad we did. And besides, why not sit outside; the weather was beautiful! Now to the food: there was a young waitress who was circling the tables with a basket of their famous Coconut and Blueberry Muffins and cinnamon raisin bread. We had the coconut muffins… Wow these are good! Drinks: I had an Orange Crush, I have had better! This did not taste like fresh squeezed OJ, more like boxed or canned. The soft drinks(Diet Pepsi and Raspberry Iced tea) were watery, probably from the over abundance of melting ice in the glass. Apps: We had the Seafood Skins, it was 3 half baked potatoes topped with Shrimp, Scallops and Crab meat in an Imperial sauce topped with Melted Cheddar Cheese… We give these 4 ½ stars. Entrees: I had the Crab Penne, it is a blush sauce with shredded crab meat and Penne pasta. It was a nice size portion, I needed to take 2⁄3 of mine home… since I already had 2 Muffins and 1 ½ potato skins. My Wife had the Seafood Alfredo; it had shrimp, crab meat and scallops with Alfredo sauce over linguini. She gives this 5 stars. Our friend Cindy had the Coconut Shrimp with the Orange Mango sauce. She gives this 5 stars. Each of our entrees came with a salad and a potato or vegetable of the day. The Cesar was good but could have used a little more dressing, the Garden Salad was a lot of lettuce and a few pieces of carrot, diced cucumber and diced tomato. It could have used a little shredded cheese, or some croutons for texture. Cindy had the tropical salad, this has pineapple and mandarin orange pieces and shrimp over lettuce. She had the Raspberry Vinaigrette with it and she loved it. All in All I would say Harpoon Hanna’s is a great place to eat, we did not have any service issues or wait a long time for any portion of our meal. The waiter was very attentive and checked in frequently(I didn’t get his name). There were only a few minor areas that could be improved upon, like the garden salad as mentioned above and the watery drinks. But the one thing that I am finding at most places I have been to on this trip, they do not list their soft drinks on any of the menus. I should not have to ask a server if you serve Coke or Pepsi and if you have Ice tea sweetened or flavored before making my decision. I would like to have an answer for the server when they ask what I would like, and I am sure most parents would like to know what they have so their kids could decide. I would recommend this place, just get here early so you don’t have to wait to be seated!

When I was younger, I used to love the fresh muffins that would be brought around to your table. Unfortunately, this does not happen during lunch. While the views are still great, even with all of the more recent housing close by, the food here is horrible and the restaurant is really not very clean. The tables are sticky, as are the benches you are sitting on. I had a shrimp salad sandwich, and when it arrived, the bread was completely sopping wet and mushy! Shrimp salad should not be liquidy! Both the pepper and ketchup were empty that were on our table, and the pepper shaker was also caked with slime. The manager was kind enough to make me a new sandwich, and apologized for the other problems we experienced throughout our lunch, but we will definitely not be rushing back any time soon. They either need a huge overhaul and update, or will have to rely on out of towners to sustain this restaurant!

My family and I went to dinner here 7⁄3. We were told the wait was 20 minutes, after waiting almost 60 minutes we were finally seated. The furniture in the restaurant needs to be updated, the chairs were uncomfortable, the tables were old. The service was good considering they were swamped. My crab cake was tasty but nothing else I ordered was. The Mac and cheese was not that great, the salads looked to be straight out of a bag, my mom ordered Maryland crab soup, it was mostly broth, maybe a teaspoon of vegetables and crab meat. This place is pricey too for not so great food. I would not recommend spending $ here!

Terrible service like a lot of other reviewers have mentioned. The ones that gave more than 3 stars must have a very high tolerance for crappy service. This is a service town and thousands of other places I can spend my money, at least try. We came during an extremely NOT busy time, and we had to go to the hostess stand after being seated for 15 minutes to ask them to send our server who hadn’t shown up. All this coconut yummy bread everyone raves about never showed up even though our server kept telling us «she’ll come around.» After we got our food and the basket hadn’t arrived, he actually went and got us some. I had the eggs Benedict, meh, hollandaise sauce tastes weird. Hashbrowns were mushy and there was nothing brown about them. I’m pretty sure they were cut up, boiled, and tossed together in salt and pepper. When I look behind me and see a bunch of servers just sitting at empty booths, staring off into space, I don’t care if you’re not my server, if I don’t have any service at all, I think you all could be doing something better than sitting around doing nothing. I expect management to be better at appearing like their servers care. Terrible! The food was OK, the coconut muffins were indeed good, but not good enough for me to return. At least there was no taxes. If you’re like me when trying to decide if you should come here and didn’t believe the negative reviews, go for it, but leave a review so others can benefit!

2.5, rounded up because the perimeter of the deck is pretty much all bar esque seating with a nice view of the bay. Really good use of space and I like that it’s a bar feel, but with a much better view than bottles of booze and bartenders. Fish tacos were alright. The price was definitely right for the portion, but the quality is only so-so. Basically you get some breaded white fish and the fixings that would generally accompany a dollar taco night at your local dive bar. Definitely edible, but really uninspired. DONOT get a bloody mary here. I asked the bartender how they were and she threw out a convincing«really good.» It wasn’t really good. It wasn’t even kinda good. It was terrible. A watery, tasteless plastic cup of terrible.

Other than the ambiance,(outdoor seating on the bay,) this is not a place you need to visit. My first experience was nothing over the top, and considering the price and other myriad of options, it’s just not a place I’d go again. Our server was vastly inexperienced. Food was average. Not only that, but I found a piece of plastic in my lobster tail and after telling our server, nothing happened. No manager came to speak to us, no sincere apology. So, enough(not) said.

We should’ve just eaten all our meals here since this was cheaper and far better than any other place we went. When we got there it was super crowded, like circle the parking lot for a spot crowded, but the wait was only 10 minutes. The food and service were both good but the best parts were the bread basket and the view(in that order). The bread basket contained iced cinnamon raisin bread, coconut muffins, and blueberry muffins. I can’t even decide which one was better since they were all awesome. I got the fried clams with a side salad and fries for dinner. Everything was good. Hubby got the rib platter, and half a rack of ribs is definitely plenty for one person. The crab legs here($ 10 to add to an entrée, or $ 35 for unlimited crab legs) were not surprisingly 100x better than the crab legs at Phillips. Would definitely come back.
