Really good sushi, especially the Ginza roll… The only disappointing factor is that they will not let you do combination platters of seafood/chicken in their teriyaki dishes even if your willing to pay the difference. it’s an ok place overall

My go-to sushi place. Never been disappointed. I always get take out so I can’t speak on behalf of service. But the product is fresh and the specialty rolls are wild.

Very healthy food and fresh… the best Korean food in Hudson Valley. We ordered Short rib, Chilean seabass as main dishes… so so so good. Toro has unique appetizers also like fried squid legs, two different types of pancakes. We love this place.

good basic Korean food(the only reason we come here). service was slow on a Saturday night, looked like they were understaffed, we had to practically beg for our check which is a bummer

I really like this place come here as much as I can when I’m in NY. Food and service is excellent. I usually get the dumpling soup w the sides and for apps I order the grilled spicy squid. Delicious.

My daughter and I ate at Toro for dinner tonight. It’s located in a strip mall on main street in Fishkill. The interior of the restaurant is clean, well lit, and has a nice sushi bar. For appetizers we had shumai, and vegetable tempura. The veggie tempura was different from the ways I’ve had it before. It came as 3 fried vegetable cakes which were comprised of cut shredded vegetables rather than individual vegetables. It was ok, but I would have rather had broccoli/carrot/sweet potato/etc. individually. The shumai was good, but I don’t believe it was house made. For dinner my daughter had chicken Katsu which she enjoyed very much. I had bibimbap which I thought was very good and very much like I remember having in Seoul. Both meals came with miso soup which was good, and my meal came with a side of kimchi, ban chan, and a big bottle of gochoojang to make it as spicy as you like. The waitstaff was super. The reason I rated as a 3 was that the starters were a little bit of a letdown. The mains were definitely solid. I would go back if in the area for sure.

Starting with an order of shumai and then moving on to two(in my opinion) delicious rolls — the rock’n roll and the firehouse — I left the table with my hunger situation sufficiently quelled. I usually order the same thing every time, as it is very good. The only complaint that I have is that the service can be a bit slow, even at times where there aren’t many folks dining.

It was ok. We were staying in Fishkill for the night and I was craving Asian food. Not sure what I expected for asian fusion in Fishkill. We had some of the Japanese food(rolls and grilled Hamachi kama) and it wasn’t bad but the Vietnamese phở was nothing close to authentic. The soup was incredibly salty and there was barely any meat in the noodle soup. It was mostly noodle.

Good sushi but the take out takes FOREVER. Always takes double the time they tell you. Every. Single. Time.

We ate: Angel roll– interesting, wrapped in radish. Crunchy fresh greens. Nice and light appetizer; 4 pieces was just enough. Shumai, seaweed salad– the usual. Smaller portions, same as you’d expect to have elsewhere. Dumpling soup– outstanding. Great flavor and a clear broth. Spicy mussels– delicious but just 4 pieces Seafood phở– huge! Enough for two. It was a lot of noodles and a lot of flavor. It had just enough seafood but we had just one tiny scallop in ours.

Ordered the kimchi pancake, LA Kalbi, Spicy buckwheat noodles, spicy seafood stew. We have been going all around Orange County NY in search of good Korean food and we found Toro somewhere we will continue supporting. Food was very good, reasonable pricing, service was great, had a good dining experience. Will be back.

This is the best sushi restaurant in the Hudson Valley/New York State and probably the entire east coast. Period. Anyone one else who tells you different is fooling themselves and really should stop eating out. As a matter of fact, the food is so consistently good, that it’s like magic, because surely every restaurant owner is entitled to have an off day, not in this culinary kingdom. It’s that good. Don’t kid yourself. Go there. Now.

After a day of adventuring, we were both craving some Korean. There is not much to choose from in the Hudson Valley for Korean cuisine, so Toro was our most obvious choice. After glancing at their menu online, I was a bit skeptical. Pan-Asian restaurants seem to be all the rage these days. They typically try to combine the cuisines of two or more cultures under one roof — thereby increasing the appeal and choices to would-be diners. In my experience however, what always ends up happening is that you don’t find any one particular specialty, rather you have an entire menu full of mediocre copycats of culturally traditional dishes. Not particularly a Korean-foodie, my girlfriend was intent on proving me wrong(as always) and I’d have to say, she wins this battle! Upon first glance, Toro seems out of place in this random plaza. On the outside it looks narrow, but as you walk in, not only are you greeted by friendly faces, by enough room to seat over 100 patrons! The menu is huge and offers all sorts of opportunities to try new things. Besides the normal Japanese categories, Toro also offers various Korean specialties such as Grilled Barbecue dishes(Kalbi), Sizzling Hot Stone Rice Bowls(Gop-Dol), and your traditional Wok Stir Fried Dishes. We began with milky miso soup, which comes with entrees and is filled with cubes of tofu, scallions and chewy, briny seaweed. Honestly one of the most authentic miso soups I have ever had, not at all like any of those pre-made miso soups you may so easily encounter. Next, were the spicy mussels and agedashi tofu. My girlfriend raved about the mussels before we had gotten there, and to be honest — they were just ok. The deep fried tofu however, was BOMB. As a purist, I wanted to keep the entire meal Korean. And Toro didn’t disappoint, they made it very well and it really reminded my of my childhood. Unsure of what to order, we both knew we wanted to try something different. We ultimately decided to go for the gopdol bibimbab. Bibimbap is like a plate of pasta for the Italians or a bowl of Ph for the Vietnamese. It’s a signature Korean dish, that one can easily discern if the chef/restaurant is the real deal. And authentic it was! Served in a hot stone bowl, it was topped with sautéed and seasoned vegetables. Chili pepper paste, soy sauce, or a salty soybean paste garnish all of this. And finally, a raw or fried egg and sliced meat(usually beef) are common additions. The hot dish was stirred together thoroughly just before eating. It was yummy and for $ 13, super filling and generously portioned. I was surprised by the abundance of side dishes as well! Regular kimchi, cucumber kimchi, acorn jelly, and spicy fish cakes adorned the table. Our waiter kept our glasses full and sides aplenty. Toro is nice. It’s casual, relaxed and delivers on quality. Service is polite and humble, and the space provides a backdrop where you can easily enjoy good food with good company. Open to 10pm Monday through Friday, and 9:30pm on Saturday, their lunch special hours are from 11:30am to 2:30pm. With plenty of parking and a spacious dining room, I am excited to return and try other authentic Korean dishes!

Review strictly for Korean Food. Toro is the place to enjoy«Korean» dishes since there is almost«ZERO» Korean restaurants in the Hudson Valley. We were craving Korean BBQ and this has to be the place to fulfill our hunger. We started with LA style Kalbi, Spicy Pork(jai-yuk-gui) and Bulgogi. We also ordered the Seafood Soup(Hae mul tang) with Soon doo boo. The Kalbi was nice and juicy, very tasty and flavorful, The Spicy Pork hit the spot a perfect blend of Korean spices and heat. The Bulgogi was delicious but needed a little less sweetness. We were surprised by the abundance of side dishes from Kimchi, Acorn Jelly, spicy fish cakes and cucumber kimchi. The place had a warm cozy feeling with ample room to enjoy good food and company. The two soups were exquisite in flavor and richness perfect Korean soup for those cold stormy days. We all concluded this is the place to fulfill our Korean Cravings.
