Simple, small place that sells meat but the sandwiches are excellent. We had the Ban Mih, which was full of flavor and tender, field green salad with goat cheese and roasted tomatoes excellent and shrimp po boy good. Beers on tap. Worth the lunch stop.

Absolutely delicious… From as simple as a grilled cheese to the BBQ pork and an unbelievable pastrami sandwich… Amazing!!!

Darn good sandwiches. I had the Banh Mi — which lacked jalapeños and spice — but thankfully I had some Sriracha on hand to add. The meat was quite nice and the bread was great — toasted and crunchy on the ends. Hubby had their special — steak with blue cheese — and he said it was just ok. Their potato chips were great — assuming they were homemade and not too ‘roof of the mouth tearing hard’ like many in house chips.

Proper Meats + Provisions is a fantastic eatery in the heart of Flagstaff, AZ. I live in New Mexico and every single time I have been in Flagstaff, I’ve stopped in for lunch or dinner at this amazing place. I have tried a few different things, but my two favorites are the fried chicken po boy(made with andouille sausage, tangy aioli, and slaw) and the daily sausage, but the banh mi sandwich comes in a close third place! The meat is fresh and locally sourced, making every bite one to savor. They serve beer, a lot of local microbrews, which is a treat on top of their delicious meals. I always make it a point to drop by when I’m in town and would recommend this gem to anyone with a passion for well made food.

It’s been a while since a sandwich impressed me. Damn, these people care about their meat and it sure tastes like it. The pulled pork bahn mi was outstanding. It’s so sad that the food in Sedona doesn’t come close to this level of quality. Don’t miss this place if you find yourself in Flagstaff.

So sad — found out today that Proper is no longer doing food service at Historic Brewing. This was such a great arrangement, even though customers had to cash out twice — for each business. We had snagged a outside table at Historic and then were told that we would have to go to Proper and order our food as take out. It was a hassle — food was great as always, but we will take it off our weekly lunch rotation just because of the hassle. I am so sad because we love both of these establishments and they both serve great stuff — but they just made it really cumbersome for their loyal customers! Hopefully they can mend fences!

One of the best BBQ pork sandwiches I’ve ever had. Place is small with 3 high community tables. A little freaked that a customer came in wearing his gun. Back to food… Yum on the homage potato chips. Wine on tap was ok. Should have tried the beer

Great sandwiches. Took some frozen items home as well that were decent. Would love to go back and try their deli items to bring home.

I had their daily special which was a porchetta sandwich with balsamic aioli on a brioche bun. The atmosphere seem nice and inviting, though it can’t decide wether it’s a marketplace that sells prepped food or vice versa. It smells good as soon as you walk in the door and the staff is friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. A delicious sandwich with a good beer. Would definitely return.

Best deli I’ve ever been to. Choice, grade-A, quality meats and a tremendous atmosphere. Completely unrivaled. Don’t go to Flagstaff and NOT get a sandwich here. Everything looked fabulous.

We stopped at this place on our way back to Phoenix from the Grand Canyon. It is half butcher and half del. Although there was not a lot of seating in there, we did find barstools facing out the front window. The sandwiches are AWESOME… My pastrami sandwich was definitely the BEST I have ever had. Lots of meat, russian dressing and pickles on rye bread — YUM!!! My kids had burgers which were all good. the meat here is very fresh and locally sourced and you can tell that when you eat their products! All large portions here too. Loved it — would definitely go again if I were in town.

Bread was a little lacking but the meats seriously make up for it. Got the second of the pastrami sandwiches, and wow it was good. I normally stay away from pastrami as it tends to be salty and over seasoned, but this pastrami does not have those issues. Flavor is spot on. Excellent job with the fixings as well, really fresh and the poblano was a wonderful touch.

You. Guys. These sandwiches turn your mouth into a carnival of complex flavors atop blessings of greasy pub food. Sit on the patio at Historic Brewery or inside and order a delectable beer while you wait for your homemade potato chips and sandos. I’ve had the hamburger and the Po’Boy and I’d say that either one would be a homerun for anyone. Boyfriend was so jealous of the Po’Boy that I had gotten he made me go back the next week. Big plus, bring your puppies onto the patio to enjoy the Flagstaff sunshine together. Definitely a must go spot in Flag.

Stopped in after reading all of the great reviews, was skeptical because I really wanted to avoid meat. I am not a vegetarian but really try to limit how often I eat it. I did not expect a meat shop to have a vegetarian option let alone have one that tasted amazing! For a meat shop to offer that option says a lot about their ethics. Their meat options are local and cruelty free as well. Thank you for making these options available and putting so much care into what you do! Also, love the little street and town it’s in as well.

Sandwiches are decent. Deli meats and cheeses are good and for a fair price. Nice environment.

Oh my goodness this place is delectable! I had a pulled pork sand which that was to die for. The portion sizes are huge so I got to take half of my sandwich home. My boyfriend and I enjoyed this place. Pricing is a bit high but it is so worth it!

Amazing, if you don’t like sandwiches(don’t eat bread) they will put all the sandwich fillings on a bed of mixed greens. Perfect for when you want a high protein meal!

Lunch at Proper was the best food I have had in Flagstaff to date. We were getting our growlers filled at Historic and decided to try Proper so that we wouldn’t have to move the car. It was a great choice. I wasn’t even that hungry, but needed to eat something. I hadn’t been eating well, no appetite, but this delicious lunch brought my appetite back. We ordered the daily special, a beef and blue sandwich, $ 12. It was big, even half of it was equivalent to a large sandwich. I was assuming the roast beef would be sliced but it was cubed. It was more like a steak sandwich, but so tender. Accompanying the meat there was melted blue and cheddar cheese. There were a few other ingredients too, all on a tasty hoagie roll. This sandwich was worth the price. Chips were served on the side of the sandwich and they appeared to be homemade. We also tried a bowl of the soup of the day, red pepper and tomato bisque. The soup was also very tasty. The texture wasn’t as smooth as some bisques I have had but the taste was fantastic. We sat at the community table, there aren’t many seats in the shop. The shop itself is very cool. It is mostly set up to sell meat to take home to cook. There are also a few other food items for sale. In my experience butcher shops often serve the best sandwiches. I also enjoyed looking at the Arizona wine for sale. If I hadn’t just bought beer and wine at Historic I would have bought some at Proper. Overall, I have no complaints and I would recommend Proper for lunch.

Overall yummy. The warm allepo pepper pastrami just melted in your mouth. I’m not normally a huge fan of pastrami, but this was pretty good. Also had the chicken confit. It’s cold. It’s very yummy. Texture was interestingly creamy. Like the chicken just completely mixed in with the chevre. Bacon was thick and tasty. Everything In a thin wrap. Had the ipa on tap for $ 3.44 + tip. Perfectly in the water cup size.

The aroma from the smoker is off the charts amazing. The charcuterie board was great! They make and age their own meats! The only reason for the four stars is that the bread they use for the majority of their sandwiches doesn’t gets as much respect as the other ingredients.
