Yummy breakfast served with a smile! Stopped in for egg sandwiches but couldn’t resist adding a French Toast bagel with cream cheese to our order. Well worth it! Good coffee, too!

Go to bagel club on commerce by shoprite. So much better and cleaner. Check your shoprite receipt their are coupons on the back for this place. Sorry Max. He let go his grill man who here at bagel club now. This place has the best breakfast potatoes and breakfast sandwiches. They don’t scrimp on bacon like Maxs

Very good cheap bagels in Flemington. Me and my boyfriend as well as my family love to come here a few times a month for their breakfast sandwiches. The staff is very friendly and the store has great business hours if you are an early riser

I come here for the bagels, obviously. They’re freshly made and they have a nice selection. Now that it under new ownership yet again, the service is much nicer and faster. That being said, it’s so hot in here during the summer. There’s no AC only fans and its not working. So if you’re planning on eating in, prepared to be hot.

I understand this restaurant is under new ownership. It was absolutely ridiculous, both of my orders were totally incorrect. There is absolutely a severe language barrier between the person that took the order and a cook that made it. The eggs were awful and the wait time was ridiculous.

Quick stop while running errands in the area. Wanted to try mom n pop local place rather than a chain joint, & this hit the spot. Only one person there when I came in, so I don’t know if I missed the breakfast rush, or if they didn’t get one. I hadn’t looked at reviews before going in. Anyway, there were two guys behind the counter, older man(owner?), & young Hispanic man. Both friendly & efficient. Asked me if i wanted salt/pepper/ketchup(sure!) & I was out within probably 5 minutes. It would have been a little better if the bagel was toasted, but I hadn’t requested it. Maybe I just thought that was standard(?). Bagel is probably twice the size of a DD bagel, & the sandwich was probably less than I would have paid if I had gone there. Plus it was better than a McD option for the same price.

Stopped in for some coffee and a toasted bagel and butter early this morning. Varieties were limited at eight thirty am which I thought was surprising. Friendly service, great coffee and the bagel was very good. However, my toasted bagel and butter contained zero evidence that it had been buttered. Major pet peeve. Order a bagel and cream cheese, you get plenty. Order a buttered bagel and people dole out the butter like it’s a precious commodity. Aggravating. Still, a nice place to stop and get a quick crunch.

First time here after an early morning anesthesiology seminar. Bagel was as damn good. Had the marble rye with lox spread. I did not make it to the coffee, never a fan of coffee pots steaming on heater plates. Place seems to have a constant influx of locals. Staff are friendly. I will be back.

This is to comment on someone else review saying they don’t boil the bagels. They are wrong. Mel’s definitely boils them first. And the«grill marks» are from the grate on the bottom of the kettle that they boil the bagels in.

They steam their bagels. Real bagels need to be boiled first. You can tell they’re steamed because of the retained grill marks on the bottom of the bagel. That and they lack a chewiness of the crust. In any case, Mel’s isn’t a bad bagel, just not done quite right. Decent bread and fairly light, but I’m not one for«almost» bagels. Otherwise, standard bagel varieties here as well. Nothing else to really brag about.

Good fresh bagels, nice prices, slow grill. Decent food, nice friendly people, a few tables. Not a place to pop in and out of before work… unless you avoid cooked items. I usually wait at least 10 minutes for anything from grill… more if any orders before you. Sometimes make mistakes on orders. Plenty of help but disorganized as to who is in charge at at register, honest but I have been overcharged(undercharged) by a buck or two.
