We decided to give this Longhorn a try over the others in our area because of the review ratings. I ended up really disappointed. First of all, they bring delicious hot bread with ice cold butter to the table. My husband ordered the filet and had no complaints. However, I ordered the sirloin. It was ordered medium. I was brought a very rare steak. I sent it back to be cooked the way I ordered it. It came back to my table the second time medium-rare. I did not send it back again since my husband had finished his meal by that time. However on the plus side the bartender on duty made great drinks. Of course since my meal wasn’t up to par, my husband was disappointed as well. In short, you could drive a little further and have a better dining experience.

Sat at a bar table as the lobby was full yet tables seemed to be open. Bartender quickly brought menus, then drink and app order. Good service. Very Good appetizer platter. French onion soup was good. Sirloin was good, bit under medium rare but not by much.

For the second time that I’ve visited this particular Longhorn steak they were out of baked potatoes. The worst part is they don’t tell you until after you’ve ordered. The hostess never smiles may I add. Maybe things will be better in the future.

Went 11−3−15. Could not make my mind up. Zach, was great! Convinced me on a t bone! And did it hit the spot! Yes! Tender juice, everything you should expect in a good steak! Thanks so much! Salad came out right away! Fast friendly service! I will be back!

I visited here on a Friday night was able to get seated without a wait. The Wild West Shrimp were great. There is enough shrimp in this appetizer for a meal. I ordered by Hickory Bacon and Cheese salted steak. It was cooked to order and was so good i wanted more.. My Salad could have used more dressing but since I didn’t the calories I ate it without extra dressing. I ordered Mac and cheese as a side and this place seems to use real cheese.

Every time we’ve visited this Longhorn location, it’s been great. The service has been exceptional, and the steaks well crafted. There are a few flukes, like in any chain restaurant, such as the drinks not being prepared as they were pictured in the menu(I wanted my candy rock stirrer for my strawberry margarita, dang it!). Longhorn is always a favorite for us when we want to enjoy a steak though, so I’m sure this location will see us time and time again.

I ate here for dinner almost once a month when I was in high school and always enjoyed the food. The service is always very friendly too. I came for dinner the other day and the service and food were still great, as expected. I had a Caesar salad and the tilapia over rice. Our meal came to the table in a timely manner and they brought the birthday girl an ice cream sunday. I would come back again and I would recommend Longhorn’s to anyone wanting a great dinner in the Flowood area.

Ordered the Chicken Tortilla soup based on the picture and description on the menu. It looked great. It did not come until my companions meals were half consumed. What I got looked like juice that leaked out of their outside dumpster. I retrieved a menu and pointed out that this was clearly not what was in the picture. I know it was not going to look exactly like the picture but… By this time my companions had finished their meals. I was asked if I would like something else… too little, too late. I was disappointed that I received no compensation what so ever for my inconvenience. Not only that, they still tried to charge me for my soup. This was my first and last time to go to the Flowood location.

This is a very good restaurant… The food is very good and always comes out hot and fresh… The service is excellent and drinks are kept refilled. Our order is never wrong and the food is perfectly cooked. The restaurant is kept very clean… I will definitely be back in the future.

Excellent steakhouse! Great service! Taste amazing! Serving sizes are way more than I can eat. We’ll stop bak by when we come through town again.

Food was fast and prompt. Waiter was awesome. Price wise, for a franchise steak-house, was o.k. Friday and Saturday nights — expect a 20 minute wait time for a table. Had the bone-in ribeye’s — with the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. Not great — but not bad either.

Great food and service, the steaks are cooked perfect. Friendly staff. My wife and I visit about once a month and are never disappointed with our food and staff. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Better than expected, and actually not bad for a chain dining experience. I didn’t risk ordering a prime steak cut, but did go with the sirloin blue cheese wedge salad, after a cup of way-too-salty French onion soup. The«steak» was a little tough(and small), but after cutting it up and mixing it with a decent sized blue cheese wedge, it made for a reasonable dinner. The service efficient and friendly, albeit a bit on the corny side. Far from the greatest restaurant in Jackson, but if you’re stranded at the hotel next door at dinner time, it will do.

I’ve been twice. First time I had pork chop it taste a little«dog-like» thts the only way I know how to describe it. Hopefully somebody understands what I mean. The salad was the best thing I had. It was very full and yummy. Now the second time I went, I had the Wild West shrimp appetizer. Mmm mmm good is all I can say. The Wild West shrimp is the best dish I ever had from long horn. I also ordered a hamburger and fries. The fries were ok but the hamburger was damn near burnt. The waiter took forever with EVERYTHING and barely checked on us.

Ok. So I eat here all the time when I’m in town on business(usually alone). I don’t typically complain and don’t ask for much. While my server was pleasant, the overall experience was awful. I placed my order: Steak(med well), fries, salad and a coke. Fairly simple, right? The drink came out PDQ. It took 10 minutes for the bread to arrive and my server didn’t bring out a bread plate. Ten more minutes passed by and my salad and dinner came at the same time. I decided to enjoy my salad, which was good. When I cut into my steak, it was(let’s just say close to bloody)! What the heck was going on in the kitchen? Yes, my server got me a new steak. And I ate it. But overall, I’ll think twice about coming back next time. Way better options in the area.

Lets start off with the young hostess. I understand its late in the evening but until the place closes at 11pm greet your customer without the attitude. The waitress is nice and pleasant.

Let’s get the snobbery out of the way first: I eat steaks at Ruth’s Chris when I eat steak out. My wife wanted to try Longhorn as a less expensive alternative. I was dubious to say the least. It was fantastic. Everything was. From the Iced Tea that was just sweet enough, the salad that was full and green and not overdressed, the steak that was cooked perfectly, all the way to the waitstaff being courteous, friendly, and fun! The Meal– —I get my iced tea half sweet and half unsweet(as I am not a true southerner). It was perfect and not overly bitter like a lot of southern tea is. —The Caesar salad was a bit too fishy for me but that is the risk I run ordering a salad that has anchovies as a key ingredient. —The complimentary bread was excellent! —The baked potato was a little on the small side but it was delicious and the size didn’t matter as I was plenty full when the meal was over. —The 9oz Flo’s Filet with a bleu cheese crust prepared medium well. I asked that they not go to heavy on the bleu cheese. It came out perfect with a very thin layer of cheese on top. The steak was incredibly tender and flavorful. Very impressed! The food was prompt, hot, and perfectly prepared! Not to mention I can eat here 4 times for the cost of one meal at Ruth’s Chris! That is not to say that Ruth’s isn’t a better dining experience because it is by far. It is just easier to sell a $ 40 meal over a $ 140 dollar meal when I want someone else to cook me a steak! It is definitely a 4 star with a 5th star bump because they do have a military discount of about 25% for those that it applies to(and a law enforcement/fire department discount).

This restaurant just opened 5 days ago and I’ve already been twice. If it weren’t for the fact it just opened, I’d have given it 5 stars instead of 4! Unfortunately, many restaurants get off to an awesome start at the beginning and then decline. I really hope this isn’t the case with this Longhorn and they continue to stay on point. I’ll make sure to do an updated review in a couple of months, and if everything continues as it has during my first two visits, I’ll be giving them the 5 stars. Service was excellent during both visits. The servers came quickly after we were seated, were friendly, kept drinks filled, got the orders correct, checked on us often to make sure everything was ok, and got the bill to us promptly. A manager came around at each visit towards the end of our meal offering a smile and inquiring as to how we enjoyed everything. I always think this is a nice touch. Before I talk about the scrumptious food, I want to point out the excellent flow of the meal. All too often, the main dish comes out just after you have started to eat your salad, or they bring the main dish out 20 seconds after they have just dropped off the appetizer. It’s always annoying — at least to me it is. Here, they managed to time everything perfectly. We were able to enjoy each course with the perfect amount of time in between courses. Now… on to the food! My first visit, I ordered the 6 oz bacon-wrapped bourbon sirloin. As a general rule, I do not order sirloin because it tends to be tough. This was not the case! My steak was very tender and was cooked to the perfect temperature. What’s that? I didn’t have to send my steak back for being improperly cooked?! I was thoroughly impressed! It had carmelized onion and bacon pieces on top and the sweet bourbon flavoring was wonderful. It also came with some of the bourbon flavoring on the side. This steak was pure heaven for my taste buds! My second visit, I ordered the parmesan crusted chicken. The portion size was impressive — 2 large chicken breasts. This meant one for dinner and one to bring home for lunch the next day — Bonus! The cheese was plentiful and was melted perfectly over the chicken. The chicken was juicy aand the flavor exploded in my mouth. Again, pure heaven for my taste buds! I love the warm honey wheat bread they bring just after being seated. The outside is nice and crisp and the inside of the loaf is perfectly soft. The house salads are a nice portion size and the lettuce was nice and leafy. A house salad is just a house salad, so not a lot to say. The baked potatoes come loaded and were large and perfectly cooked. I feel the potatoes are worth mentioning because all to often, at other restaurants, I get a baked potato that is either undercooked or overcooked, and sometimes very tiny. I was too stuffed to have dessert, but on the second visit, I gave in to temptation and ordered a slice of the cheesecake to go. Most excellent cheesecake! The piece was huge — great for 2 people to share! Since they just opened, expect to have a long wait for a table. To avoid said wait, go during the middle of the afternoon or half an hour before they close and you should be seated right away. I foresee problems at future visits because I fear I won’t be able to choose between the bourbon steak and the parmesan chicken. I guess that’s a problem I’m going to have to endure because I plan on returning again very soon!
