Passed by this place for years and never gave it thought to what they got going on inside. The outside looks like its a regular neighborhood bar. Never thought that this would be a great place to eat and have drinks. Their wings are a must try. I got to enjoy their tower of onion rings which was also good. Love that they have specialty nights where drinks and appetizers or drinks with entrees are discounted. You get a good amount of food served where you need a doggy bag to take home. Great place, will continue to return…

I go here all the time because the staff are all great people, the service is great, and the food is excellent, especially the wings!!! If you want awesome wings, try this place!!! So damn delicious! My wife and I dine in and we also take out on a regular basis. The place is very casual, not fancy at all. Go there for the nice waitresses, casual atmosphere, and the excellent food. Prices are reasonable. Enjoy!

This has got to be one of the best values in the area if you can handle the often slow service and occasional noise from the bar area. Given their tiny kitchen it is amazing that they can be so consistent. Recommend their blackened steak which comes sizzling on a platter.

A very American styled bar that includes menu classics. Have to try the wings, burgers are juicy — come with steak fries. Recommend this place for everyone!

Lets start off with talking about the service and how slow it was. Definitely needs improvements there Bbq wings was a bit too saucy but overall the place provides you the satisfaction if you have a wing craving.

BEST.FOOD.EVER. I can give it 6 stars if I could. Everything on the menu is good. You can’t go wrong. Blackened steak and their soups are the best.

Most everything here is surprisingly delicious and bigger in portion than you would think. Try their wings, one of my favorites. Also their burgers. For about $ 10 – 15, you can get away with a very satisfying meal. A real gem to the Fresh Meadows area!

Did not know about this place until one of my school buddy took me here. Lots of history with the Fillmore Tavern like 102 years old. Taken these two paragraphs from the About Us page on their website. «Fillmore’s original 2 story structure fronting 65th Avenue was built in 1912 as a tavern. The area was called „Kerosene Heights“ by the locals because it was the last neighborhood in Flushing to be electrified. In 1913 a sitting room was added to the rear of the building. This room was set up as a bus depot and was used by women and children waiting for the bus that traveled along Nassau Blvd., now the LIE from Long Island City to Lake Success.» Now, on to the ambiance– What a treasure? It’s like cheers, where everyone knows one another. Saturday night football and it’s the Pittsburgh Steelers versus the Bengals. 5+ TV screens in the bar area. Eyes glued onto the game as everyone waited with baited breath for the Pittsburgh Steelers to Win and advance on. The food. This is not your ordinary tavern, pub nor bar type of food. They really make delicious food. The Shepherd’s Pie just warms and fills you up for their hearty ingredients on a cold night. Got a little crazy with the Twisted Ice Tea– That stuff is addicting. Will be back for their wings and blackened steak.

Really happy with this place. We all went here as a Christmas celebration and the food and drinks were great! I had the Jack Daniels Pulled Pork Sandwich with a Lemonade(forgot the name of it but it was a lemonade version of a Long Island Iced Tea). Everyone else ordered different items that all look and smelled great. We even split dessert which was a warm brownie with a scoop of ice cream and whipped cream. Delicious! Staff was friendly and extremely helpful and the atmosphere is really interesting. It has a home feeling with a lot of character. I believe it used to be a trolly stop back in the day. Anyway it’s a great place to go and I will be going back soon!

Because I live very close to this place, my boyfriend and I go often. We’ve had our fair share of so-so experiences and have had our fair share of good experiences. Last night, however, we had such a great time so I just had to come on and give it 5 stars. First of all, shout out to Natalie for being such an awesome waitress. She was SO attentive, gave amazing recommendations(that Pumpkin Blue Moon… oh my gahhh), and she just made our experience a great one. My boyfriend got wings and sliders, both of which he LOVED(and there was a special on the wings because of the Giants game… double bonus!), and I got the steak sandwich(the Charlie something) — the steak was so yummy! My fries were super soggy which was a bummer but I most likely didn’t need to eat them anyway so who cares. LOL We will definitely be coming back.

I have NOTHING to say that you haven’t already read on other Unilocalers reviews… I can only back it up with FIVE… FIVE…FIVE…FIVE…FIVE…five stars on Unilocal. A good friend and bar owner told me about this place about 2 years ago and I never forgot his describing how awesome the place is and how much this is the place to go for a «wow» in this particular area… he just kept saying… its tucked away in a residential neighborhood… you’d never notice it… you wouldn’t even know it was there… But the whole entire time he described its confusing location he could not stop talking about how good the food was. And by the way me and this guy talk about food quite often… but when he talked about this place my foodie senses lit up… this place was special… and now 2 years later me and my wife went there for an all out saturday night away from the kid dinner and drinks… SALUD!!! WHATWEORDERED(minus the beer and liquor which all was served with 5 stars). BAKEDCLAMS — awesome LOBSTARBISQUE — very awesome BLACKENEDSTEAK — very awesome STUFFEDFILETOFSOLE(this was a nightly special) — very awesome All of the above were served by Freddie… thank you Freddie… THISPLACELIVEDUPTOTHEHYPEFORMEAND I HIGHLYRECOMMENDYOUFINDOUTIFITDOESFORYOU!!!

My parents raved about this place, so I guess my expectations were super high when I finally stumbled in here on a Friday night for dinner. Don’t get me wrong, the food isn’t bad, but the place itself is a little less than I expected. Our waitress was friendly enough, but as I walked from the bar into the back dining area I started to feel slightly turned off by the place. I mean, I expected a small seating area but there were about three empty tables that we passed on our way to our table that were full of half eaten food, that the bus boy or wait staff didn’t bother cleaning off. It just kinda skeeved me out. So we order our food and drinks, no problem there. The burger that was supposed to change my cousin’s life definitely fell short, as did the Shrimp Po Boy that I ordered. My thought when I first walked in was OK, this is a dive but maybe the food is amazing… yeah…No. Then we order a burger to go and the waitress totally screws up the order for a medium rare burger that we waited 20 minutes for. Which I think she forgot to put the order in, in the first place. The bar area seemed pretty lively though, and from the looks of the menu they have specials and happy hour almost every night. I’m still undecided about this place. I may just give them one more shot to redeem themselves. Stay tuned…

Everyday they have a different menu lineup. Which is nice, a little pricey. I won’t recommend their blacken steak of anykind… Best thing to get here is everything else. Especially the prime rib on the weekends only I think on their dinner menu. Expect long waits, its a popular neighborhood joint. Service is decent. Food consistency is average, prime rib didn’t taste as equally awesome in the span of several times I been there across several months.

Food is not very good. Way overcooked«blackened» steak. Prices are high considering it’s in the middle of Queens. Very underwhelming in light of all these Unilocal reviews! Will not be returning.

Wow! Fillmore’s Tavern is a hidden gem in this part of Queens. I went with four guys and it was everybody’s first time here. It’s located in a super residential area and from the outside seemed like it would be kind of empty. We entered and for a weeknight this place had tons of people! Service is friendly and the food is pretty good. Wings were great, a little sweet and spicy but not overly either. Definitely go for their steak which comes sizzling on a plate. The crust is good enough that it’s crispy yummy and comes with two sides. I ordered the meatloaf which seemed to me more like Salisbury steak. Portions were good and wasn’t too bad but like I said the real winner is the steak. Burgers are great as well in addition to their sweet potato fries which are steak life fries but cut with waffle marks! Not too many beers on top but they have my beloved Blue Moon and Angry Orchard. Will definitely come again. Also, the menu has two prices. The cheaper one is if you pay in cash versus credit card.

Fillmore’s was quite interesting indeed. From the outside it looked very quiet, but the moment you find yourself down the walkway to the door, its a PARTY! Rowdy Sports Bar atmosphere. Drinks: Pricey at $ 7.25 a beer Food: Price is decent. Around $ 13 – 15 a dish with a side. Sherpards Pie was good. Meatloaf was better. Fries and Onion Rings WAY over-fried, but it brought back nostalgia of grade school lunches. What to expect. Fun place. ALL foods are frozen foods.

My boyfriend looked up this place for wings for the big SuperBowl day. He read a lot of reviews and said that we must try Filmore’s Tavern. Knowing that a lot of orders would probably be placed on SuperBowl day, I ordered at 11am to pick up my order at 6pm. When I was about to leave to get the food, I got a miss call from one of the workers telling me my order won’t be ready until 6:45pm, which is already 15 minutes into the game. I negotiated with the lady and asked if it could at least be 6:30pm and she said yes. Once I got there, my order was not ready. I ended up waiting an additional 35 minutes. I was upset that I didn’t get my order on time or at least close to it before the game. Now, here is what I ordered: 20 wings, a burger, popcorn shrimp and onion rings. The wings were mediocre, I definitely had better elsewhere. The burger and popcorn shrimp was surprisingly really good. Onion rings were okay. Would I come here again? Maybe for their burgers, but other than that. No.

If someone recommended this place to you, consider yourself very lucky. Fillmore’s Taven is a real local’s gem – almost too good to be known out there, therefore it is hidden. A friend(who lives nearby) wanted to come here since they’re known for their blackened steak. Let me tell you. this place is so out there, it is almost as if it’s a neighborhood secret. It is the only business, smack dab in the middle of all the residencies, you’d think it’s unlikely they’d get much business, but it is so busy in here, we waited for more than half an hour for our food. My friends went ahead and ordered their Blackened Steaks, while I chose something I assumed was lighter side, the Black Angus Burger. They have a pretty great draft beer selection, and they had Angry Orchard, which is all that matters. We went during their Happy Hour special, so it came to about $ 4.25 a glass. We started out with the Baked Clams and they were absolutely delicious; the sauce was buttery but the clams were just fantastic and I felt a rush of nostalgia each time I ate one. Our food came altogether, but let me just say… the Black Angus Burger is probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I don’t say that about a lot about burgers because most of them taste the same, but I requested mine medium-rare, and it was the most perfect medium-rare burgers I’ve had. Maybe because it was on a club roll, but the meat itself seemed really small and there was a lot of space left on the roll. The Steak Fries were not crispy, but good. Service was absolutely exceptional and efficient – the ladies here are the best! While we were waiting for our food, they kept coming over to fill our waters, take our plates, etc. They were very patient with us and when I mentioned my alma mater, St. John’s, they offered us a 10% discount! Will definitely be back if I’m in the area. Otherwise, it is a little out of the way for me.
