The problem is just this location and I don’t know why. I go here pretty frequently and I know the sandwhiches are a little overpriced and service is slow, but they’re friendly. Today I came and they were out of bread. How does a sandwhich business run out of bread. Two stars because the employees are friendly and the beach bikini is delicious-otherwise it would be negative stars

The there is really good, I have a sandwich about once a week. The only problem is you wait a good 15 to 20 after you wait in line.

Really good sandwiches but extremely slow service. Dont go into beach hut itself, instead go to the lockdown pub and get your food from that side. Then figure 2 beers before your food arrives. There is a counter around the other side of the bar. Lockdown pale ale ia good.

Food as with most BHD’s was good service was awful, took forever. It is not as if they were busy. Couldn’t seem to provide the wifi password either

Sandwiches are expensive but really good. I drove past a couple sandwich places on the way to work today because I was craving Beach Hut. Walked in at 3:30 and was told they were closed when the website says they’re open until 4.

Horrible. Service was slow and the female employee was rude. It took 5 minutes for them to acknowledge we were there, even though they looked at us multiple times. Finally took our order and then we waited for twenty minutes. Both groups of people who ordered after us received their food first, from the counter where they ordered. When we went to ask about what was taking so long, the female employee says«your food has been sitting here in this pick up window»(the one that’s in the brewing company). They tried to give us the sandwiches that had been sitting there for about 15 minutes. The girl rolled her eyes when we refused the sandwiches and asked for our money back. Will not be returning.

We love the food here. We walk down here just for the Marley Nachos which are bomb. Having said that… 9 out 10 times after waiting in line we walk away from the counter foodless and angry. Why? Let me list the reasons we can’t have the food we wanted to order: Out of cheese Out off bread Didn’t have a can opener to open up the cheese Out of chips Our latest disappointment we were ignored at the counter for 5 minutes only to be told to come back in 15 minutes to order to then wait another 30 min to got our one order of nachos. The staff is rude for good reason. Whoever is staffing and ordering for this place is completely incompetent and making their lives hell. My hope behind this rant is that the owner or manger reads this and makes changes. This place could be so sweet…

Food is so good but the service is so shit. I was ignored for the longest time and then finally told this long story of why they were being so slow. took 35 minutes for a sandwich. not even busy, and people who ordered after me recieved their food first.

Horrible. Not like the other locations at all. Ran out of bread after standing in line for 20 minutes. Poor service. Will not be back to this location.

Sunday, ordered a sub on wheat bread but it came on white. They are out of wheat but the new mgr did not know. Sub was the worst we have had from here not just the bread the taste was off and highly processed and greasy meat. This is something new usually we like the quality of the sub but not today. This place is not well run. No soda today because they ran out OSCO2. Subway is is better and a lot less expensive

Awesome place to eat! You will not be disappointed! My husband and I came here on a Wednesday night to have a bite to eat and hang out at Lockdown for their open mic. I got the Santa Cruz and my husband got the Hobie. Both sandwiches were so delicious! And my husband and I are a couple of foodies! We like to try new things and like the food and experience to be awesome, and this was! Both of our sandwiches had lots of delicious meat and came exactly as described. Steve, the owner of the deli, I believe, and also the one who made our sandwiches, was very friendly. He asked us where we were from abd what brought us to Folsom and also told us about how Beach Hut Deli got started and about the different locations. Side note: I also loved that he washed his hands before making our sandwiches! The deli is connected to Lockdown Brewery, so after we ordered we went and sat at the bar and got a beer and Steve brought us our food. Both Beach Hut Deli and Lockdown Brewery are definitely on our list of favorites now!

I thought the sandwiches were great. You get tons of meat! The only downside is that they are super pricey. If they were a bit less expensive, I would give them 4 or 5 stars because the sandwiches are very good. Great location, connected to Lockdown Brewery on Sutter Street.

Came here on a Friday at lunch(11:45ish) and was the only person in the place. I placed an order and sat down to wait. There was only 1 employee working, which seems like a bad idea for the lunch hour at a deli joint, but I figured it must be slow for them. People kept trickling in, and 40 minutes later, I was already late returning from my lunch break and still had no sandwich to show for it at a fast food style deli. I asked how long it would be and was told at LEAST another 10 minutes. Owners obviously need to work on their staffing levels and training of employees on how to deal with line maintenance if they are going to have a single staff person. It wasn’t the girl’s fault, but I’m still not happy I had to go back to work with a rumbling tummy. Won’t be back. Plenty of other choices for a cheap sandwich in town.

The location is horrible, upstairs, behind a bar. It was Sunday so the entire building was empty. We ordered 2 California veggie sandwiches. We wait an acceptable amount of time and the girl lets us know they’re out of sprouts, and offers to substitute lettuce(fancy!) Perfectly acceptable so we say«sure». We get the sandwiches, and they are very dry, they don’t taste good at all. So I root around in the bread like a raccoon and notice there is no cheese. I go look at the menu and confirm there is supposed to be Monterrey jack cheese. The sandwiches were light on everything, I think I had one tomato slice in my $ 12 large, but whatever we were starving and making things too complicated for the young employee might have granted us extra phlegm in our food, so I focused on the cheese. I politely asked«excuse me, are these California sandwiches supposed to have cheese?» She apologized and asked for them back, and she brought them back to us. The cheese looked funny but it wasn’t until I tasted it that I knew it was cream cheese, not Monterrey jack. We just ate it, not worth the trouble. After choking down the dry gummy blob the employee was nice and told us to have a good night. It wasn’t the worst experience but when you pay $ 30 for sandwiches you expect more than a cute girl to take your order, you want a good sandwich!

The sandwiches are great, but this location is Very SLOW… Bring your appetite! I’m a big fan of the Beach Hut Deli. They have all sorts of sandwiches on the menu, all of which are packed full of meat and toppings. Each sandwich has 3 sizes, the smallest of which is really enough to fill a typical person. The largest size is typically big enough for my wife, kid, and I all to share! On this visit, my family shared a sandwich with Pastrami, Bacon, Avocado, and cream cheese. The Bacon was super crispy great quality bacon. The pastrami was also wonderful. It tasted great! Food — 4 stars for a sandwich. YUMMO! The only problem was the wait. This location also makes food for Lockdown brewery, and is not as well staffed as the location on Blue Ravine in terms of speed. It was not busy at all in the Beach Hut side, but it still took us more than 30 minutes for the sandwiches… WAYTOOSLOW for a place like this, and they could have warned us upon ordering. It was the Folsom«night of 1000 pumpikns», so Sutter was packed, but this place was generally empty. They should have been staffed for a mob and hitting on all cylinders… Not so much. I really like the owner. He tries hard to run a great shop and is very friendly… I will say, though, he seems to focus more on the appearance of his(all female, yes the patrons notice…) workers than on their capability. When both hit, it’s a great thing… Not so much this time.

The sandwiches are a little on the pricey side, but they are the best sandwiches in the nearby area and are decently sized. I can only finish a whole sandwich here if I just finished working out. It’s all about the Santa Cruz: hot pastrami, cream cheese, avocado, and all the other normal sandwich stuff(I personally forfeit the mayo). There’s got to be like 8 ounces of pastrami on here(see photo), so I would probably only come back if I had a dude with me to take half that meat off my hands. It is not the *best* pastrami, cream cheese, and avocado sandwich I’ve had, but it is pretty close. I guess what makes this one not as great as my favorite is that the bread here is sort of mediocre, and the prices are a little higher here. Other than that, though, it is a great sandwich. This is a super-cute little shop with a few flat-screen TVs running and a couple of pool tables. You can also get a beer to go with your sandwich if you go to the other side of the counter to order. I’m not positive but I think you have to order the beer separately. The chip selection was pretty sparse. The servers are almost always snotty but that’s Sutter Street. The bathroom, which is outside and down a little hall, is the best bathroom on the block. Always clean and well-stocked, and usually smells like Orangesicles.

First time here and since working in the Old Town Folsom area I had to finally get my fix of Beach Hut after a really long time with out Beach Hut. The shop is really nice but it’s tucked away like a lot of store fronts in Old Town. It’s not hard to get to but it’s not on the sidewalk. They have Flat Screen TV’s, POOL Tables and Darts. Now if this place had shuffle board I would probably be drunk and playing that. — Sandwich was amazing and I ordered a small of the«Surfin Cow». Piled with tons of Pastrami, lettuce, tomato, Avocado, mayo, cheese. Along with peppers, and some other good stuff! The girls working were cute probably High School or right out of HS, damn I feel old saying that. They were friendly and greeted me quickly as I was the only person in there and sometimes when it’s slow businesses have a tendency to not pay attention. They did put onions and made the sandwhich for here instead of to-go. No biggie they fixed it and away I went. Would Most Def come back

Ever feel like God is just looking down on you with a smile? I don’t get that feeling very often, but today was a definite exception. So there I was walking down Sutter Street hungry and thinking how boring the all of the antique and tourist trap shops are. That’s when I saw a bright light gleaming down from the clouds above, highlighting a sidewalk sign that read Beach Hut Deli now open. It’s as if sandwich Jesus smiled and said here have a sandwich and while you’re at it, how about a first to review as well. Not just any sandwich that is, a superior Jesus approved Beach Hut sandwich. There was a thought of having something other than the norm from the wide selection on the menu board, but I still cannot seem to talk myself into anything other than my usual. Beach Hut trip #108 and BLT #108. No scratch that, it was BLT #109; there was that time April of ’07 when I thought I was absolutely starving and went for two. Today’s sandwich did not disappoint. The bread is so magnificent that I could almost eat it just by itself. Then let us not forget the small mountain of perfectly cooked and flavorful bacon overflowing from the sides and ends. Combine this with fresh and ripe tomato slices and in The Shack fashion, added pickles, and you’ve got yourself an incredible sandwich. As far as I am concerned there can never be too many Beach Hut Deli’s. This newest location, located with the Lockdown Brewery, is another welcome addition. Oh and sandwich Jesus has already gone on record as stating«Mr. Pickles need not bother as the king known as BHD shall rule whatever jungle it chooses to step into.» Thank you sandwich Jesus and now let us break bread.
