Mimi’s Cafe

I think this is the best location in the inland empire. It’s quiet not to busy. We came in around 5:30 only had about a 5 minute wait, when we sat down the server came right away for our drink order. We order our food slightly after and the good came out so fast. It was the fastest service which was great because we all were very hungry. Our server was very attentive and refilled our drinks even giving us too go drinks at the end. Awesome time this has made the top of my list of great places to dine with my family.

Be very observant of your food here! Dont risk your health. First off this location is only about 5 minutes away from my home and is very convenient but do I come here… no. Why? Recently some family stayed over from San Deigo for the weekend and we decided to go out for breakfast. My sister in-​law apparently is a huge fan of Mimis and while going over the list of local restaurant’s she jumped up excitedly and said yes! Mimis! Everything goes as usual wait time was ok, friendliness average, atmosphere average. We placed the order for our five year old daughter and four year old niece first, as to not keep them waiting while we went over the menu. Their food came out and as my daughter began to grab her plate of «fresh fruit» my wife noticed a rotten grape. She began to inspect the rest of the fruit and found it was all spoiled in one place or another. Once she reached the bottom of the bowl she surprisingly found a huge cockroach leg stuck to the bottom of a piece of honey dew. The Manager on site apologized went to see What went wrong and came back with «sorry I don’t know what happened we inspect the food before it comes out so I don’t know where this bowl of fruit came from». So you serve my daughter and niece a bowl of rotten cockroach fruit from some unkown place in the kitchen! Putting both my daughter and nieces health at risk. This was my second visit in a long time and this place is worse than before. Sure food was free after the incident but no one could eat after that. Horrible disgusting place. Please post your experience to have this place improved or shut down. Hopefully this post and others will help keep customers trusting this place with their health and money from harm.

this location takes forever with service. Never order a kids meal for breakfast. 4.99 for a spoon of eggs and 1 bacon.

This place is FREEZING COLD inside. The manager always says that she just adjusted the thermostat and it takes a minute to respond. The statement is resonable, but it never becomes warmer. Bring a heavy coat so you can enjoy your meal.

I only came here for their Muffin Packs; i got a two pack to test them out, i got the Buttermilk Spice and the Carrot Raisin. The Carrot Raisin was delicious and moist with strips of carrot, but the Buttermilk Spice i think was a little dry or maybe slightly over cooked, the whole bottom half was a slightly darker tan than the rest, the flavor was good, but it had a very strong clove flavor to it, id prefer it a bit lighter but was still really good i just wish it was more moist. The wait sucked though, they were packed but i was waiting at the to-​go counter (which had no line) and i waited for ten minutes before being addressed. Once someone NOTICED me it only took five minutes. I love muffins and there isnt many spots to go for wholesome muffins and disappointingly they only have like five flavors but I do want to go back to try the other flavors and hopefully they are amazing lol

The attentive, genuinely interested waiter we had made us feel like we were celebrities dining at some 5 star luxury restaurant. The food, as always with Mimi’s, was amazing, though my roast beef was a bit too salty to handle. The corn chowder … may have changed out lives. Definitely get it if you go! We got their cute little crêpe cake: it was a fun experience, but more about the fun and eye-​candy than the taste.

Went to a late breakfast, early lunch today. There were 3 of us and 2 were able to have breakfast and I was able to have lunch. Food was great and the service was quick.

I was there last night with my family. I usually have lunch there a couple of times a week. The service is usually great during the busy lunch crowd. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Friday night dinner service.
It was not busy at all, yet it took us (along with three other families) about ten minutes to be helped by the hostess.
We finally got seated and waited another 10 – 15 minutes before our server made it to our table. Another 10 – 15 minutes to get us our tea and water. At that point she said she would give us more time to look over the menu. I told her we were ready to order and that just made things worse. She was rushed and eager to leave our table. We could not finish our sentence before running off. We were missing place settings, she spilled some of the hot water from the tea so we needed napkins to clean it up because she did not offer to do so, we needed straws for our water, spoons for our soup, honey for the tea. We look like idiots having to ask for everything piece by piece because she would run away.
Finally, a manager came to check on us and I explained what was going on. She gave us the obligatory apology and said she would ask her to slow down.
At the end, my sister’s soup turned cold waiting for a spoon, the tea got cold waiting for the honey, and the fries got cold and greasy waiting for ketchup that we never got.
What’s worse is that she was totally condescending to us after her manager spoke to her. She talked to us very slowly in a very sarcastic and disrespectful manner. It was the most bizarre dinner service.

Did I just walk into a senior living facility? There are so many old’ timers that come here because of their awesome discounts and coupons (which i use). They might as well change every parking spot to handicapped, tv’s to black and white, and butterscotch candy as a desert item.
Every server is hispanic… which means hard working people that will always bring you soda refills.
ALSO, their thanksgiving deals are amazing for take out/​catering.

Was told it was going to be a 20 minute wait. There were several tables open. Once we were seated it took almost 10 minutes to order food and drinks. Waited 10 more minutes and we still hadn’t received our drinks. Way under staffed or bad service don’t know which one. But let’s say we will not be back. No respect for one’s time. 40 minutes wasted Thanks Mimi

Service could have been better. I would come back but I wouldnt want to risk my mother getting hit with keys again, and not to mention one of the employees almost hit our car because «He was late to work»…

Great food, service is always excellent, and they treat you like family at this location. If you come here, ask for Luis. He rocks!!!

Perfect place to bring the young ones if you don’t want to to the noisy/​roudy Boston’s, D&B or Applebee’s. Not that I don’t enjoy going there but sometimes you want a quiet dinner with the little ones. Place seems to never be too packed so service should be great.

Wonderful service. My brother was satisfied with his burger however my tomato basil soup tasted like spaghetti sauce. Alberto is a great polite waiter. Really enjoyed his service. It’s just too bad the food is meh and the wait time was long.

Excellent place to dine. wonderful service kid frendly. coffie is great. wife and kids enjoyed the food desert are to die for. i recommend this place to anyone that’s wants to relax and enjoy.

Only gave 1 star because I had too. Walked in at 1:40pm, another couple walked in just behind us. There were 2 other couples waiting to be seated. Put our name in and were told it would be about 10 min. About 5 minutes later one of the couples got up and left, the remaining couple were then called and said «finally». Another 10 min passed and the couple that came in behind us left. I had to call the restaurant from my cell phone to speak to the manager because no one was in the lobby. I told the manager I’m sitting in the lobby waiting for a seat and you have several available tables, I don’t understand why we are waiting. The manager said, the restaurant was not busy earlier in the morning so they sent servers home. They didn’t to want slam the kitchen so that’s why they delayed seating us.
Also while I was speaking to the manager, another gentleman stood up from his seat and said he’s ready to leave because he had been waiting 40 minutes for his food and was frustrated also–
Not sure if slow service is a regular occurrence at this location, but I was here 2 weeks ago also and placed our order at 11:37 am and had to speak to the manager at 12:17 when we were still waiting for our food. I understand restaurants get packed but there were only 5 tables in the entire restaurant .
Update: the service today happened to be really fast after I spoke with manager.

The restaurant was mostly empty and yet is still took them an excessive amount of time to seat us.
Ordered the Mediterranean salad. Was offered one of their daily muffins as a side or a baguette. Chose the muffin (carrot raisin). It was actually surprisingly good, nice and warm and tasted like it was fresh from the oven.
And then, another long wait. Again, the restaurant was not very full, I ordered a salad as my main entrée, my dining companion ordered a burger. Both are items that shouldn’t take long to prepare. Nonetheless we had quiet the wait for our items. Not sure why.
The salad was so-​so. Not bad, but definitely not worth the long wait. My dining companion expressed the same feeling about his burger.
Overall, not worth the time to stop in. Wouldn’t eat there again.

The previous times I’ve been here I’ve always ordered breakfast food, this time I was feeling more adventurous and went for the bacon & blue cheese salad.
Great choice!
I added grilled chicken to it for protein. The combination of the ingredients put together it’s to die for.
I had a couple of hibiscus mimosas to brighten up the mood.

The server was amazing!!! His name is Angel and if I owned this restaurant I would give him a raise.
The four stars are because the food was disappointing. I had eggs Benedict and it was not prepared properly. Also the presentation was lacking and not appetizing.
Coffee was good and the pancakes were also really good.

Had Thanksgiving dinner here. Had reservations for 18 set for 2:30pm. Got there early and asked the manager for access so I could set up a few items for our guests. He was rude and not cooperative. The servers did a good job. They were extremely busy and still managed to do a good job. The food was not that great. The turkey tasted like it came out of a can. The stuffing was very moist. The cranberry stuff was very good.
4 stars for the servers, 1 for the manager (if thats what you want to call him) and 3 stars for the food.
