Was quite adamant to try this place based on the rating but since I’m a big fan of Greek food, might as well. First off, Everytime I pass by this place, it’s usually empty, not sure if it’s the location. Seemed like they had a very limited menu and quite overpriced. I ordered the large lamb gyro with garlic and yogurt, it was awesome. Service was good as well. Will be back again!

Great place for a different style European gyro. I have visited on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. I am always torn between ordering their cheese melts with chicken or simply a chicken gyro. Always get garlic sauce with anything you order. The gyros and cheese melts are severed on bread rather than pita. You won’t miss the pitas once you have one of their gyros. The staff are always friendly and will do anything to make your order right the first time. If you want extra sauce or anything simple ask and they will bring it right out to your table. All the food is made fresh to order. Will definitely return again soon.

So I was at a wake around the corner and being the lover of Gyros that I am, I finally decided to try the place out. Placed my order for a large lamb gyro with tzatziki. Unfortunately no matter how many times I declined, I wasn’t allowed to place my order without first tasting the other three sauces they have on the menu. Saying, «no thank you» had no effect on it. I was trying them whether I wanted to or not. Finally placed my order. Took it to go. Got home, changed, and sat down to eat. Now my oven is heating up so I can have some pizza rolls. I don’t know what kind of meat they put on my gyro, but it was, without a doubt, NOT lamb. Nor was it beef. It tasted old and gamey. Honestly, it tasted like what I imagine roadkill would taste like. Nevertheless, it’s in the garbage. $ 11.00 gone completely to waste. It was absolutely inedible and have no doubt that I’ll be getting sick from it at some point. I have no idea how the chicken or beef is, but a traditional gyro is made with lamb and that’s exactly what I wanted. Take your chances, but I highly DONOTRECOMMEND. EDIT** Specifically to Adam, the business owner. This has nothing to do with any misunderstandings about what you’re about. I saw the restaurant shortly after it opened when the name was still, I believe, McGyro. Read the reviews on Unilocal and they were terrible. so I stayed away. Recently they’ve gotten better so since I was in the area, I thought I’d give it a try. We’ll hit first on your customer service. The girls were beyond pleasant and courteous, but when offered a sample of something and a customer says no thank you, the answer is no. You shouldn’t be forced to try something before being allowed to finalize your order. I came into your restaurant knowing exactly what I wanted. I didn’t need garlic sauce nor did I need to taste it but your staff wouldn’t take no for an answer. I told her no thank you twice before she got out the tasting spoons and again after she dipped it trying to hand it to me. Maybe I’m allergic. Maybe I don’t like garlic. Maybe I just didn’t want to try it. It shouldn’t matter. No means no. And you don’t have to be Greek to make a gyro. It just has to taste good. If I go for a gyro and it’s not lamb, I don’t get it. I happen to love lamb and feel there’s no other way to have a gyro. I’ve had them all over. Greek restaurants. Street fairs. Halal restaurants. The pita was tasty enough. Veggies were fresh. the tzatziki was unseasoned and had very little flavor. But the meat was the problem… and I’m willing to bet that the meat on my gyro was not, in fact, lamb. I don’t know what it was, but it tasted old, gamey, and inedible. It tasted how I would imagine goat would taste. I also noticed that all the vertical broilers against the back wall were empty. I would understand if it were late in the evening that a business might slice a little to get them through the night and pack the rest up, but it was only 5pm… Which leaves me to wonder if you even cook your own product. What I’m not left to wonder is the fact that the meat couldn’t have been fresh carved. Sir, I’m not one of those people that write regular reviews. I don’t consider myself a blogger or a restaurateur. What I do know, though, is food. What tastes good and what doesn’t. The meat on that gyro was inedible. I’m not in the habit of wasting money, but If you like, I’ll gladly pull the sandwich out of the trash and snap a picture of it for you with a couple of bites taken out of it. I wasn’t quite happy with a dinner of frozen pizza rolls either, but sometimes you roll the dice and end up with craps. You can say I’m completely wrong about your meat not being lamb. and perhaps I am. But if that was lamb, it was bad. I’ve eaten a lot of lamb and I’ve never tasted anything like that. In this case, money lost is a lesson well learned. At least I know where not to go for good food. Maybe the beef is ok. maybe the chicken is amazing. I’ll never know. I won’t chance wasting my money in your establishment again. but hey. thanks for responding!

Totally Satisfying. Well I finally tried this restaurant after seeing some indifferent views. I got the large lamb with everything and garlic sauce. Lamb was excellent with no fat, grilled nicely and with some crisp to it. Garlic sauce was definitely where it’s at. The bread was fresh, tasty, and grilled perfectly. What was an excellent compliment to this huge sandwich was all the veggies and olives stuffed inside. Large is too big and slightly too expensive for lunch at over $ 11. Go with the regular size and you’ll be back again and again.

Love Love Love absolutely Love this place! Fresh veggie filled Gyro with your choice of delicious sauces. My favorite is Garlic. The bread is a crunchy, crispy piece of deliciousness! Not your traditional Gyro. but is very very good.

Really wanted to like this place but could not get over the chicken. Parts were pink, parts were grey, lots of fatty chunks. I tried to pick out the chicken and eat the cucumber and cabbage but I couldn’t stomach it. The vegetables tasted fresh and the bread was delicious. Just wish the chicken were better quality.

I thought, I should give it a try, turn out to be an amazing chicken gyro. The bread was different compared to traditional middle eastern gyros.

Excellent food. I had a beef gyro when they first opened and it was good but forgettable I guess. I just remember it being messy. And now almost 2 years later, I tried a salad with beef. Very happy with it this time and I might be hooked. Meat was unfortunately sparse on the salad, this was somewhat disappointing considering I know their gyro portions are very satisfying(read large!). Regardless, all elements were so good together, beef was pretty tender, salad fresh and crispy. Garlic and hot sauce are heavenly… though don’t eat it before a first date ;) I will definitely be returning, hoping I get a bit more meat on my salad this time! Oh, and the owner is one of the nicest, most hard working guys I’ve experienced in terms of business!

Ate there once and had a bout of restroom unpleasantries. I had a lousy meal earlier that day so I couldn’t blame them with certainty. In fairness I still can’t. I ate there again today and nothing else at all. I felt sick within a couple-few hours with same results as last time. I don’t have anyone else to blame this time. I can’t prove they got me sick, of course. However, that would be one heck of a coincidence. There will be no strike 3. Too bad because I wanted to like this place because it is different. UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner immediately and he expressed a legitimate concern for the situation. He was foremost concerned for my well being. He offered a very sincere commitment to re-double what he claims are already very high health/safety standards. He also offered to reimburse me for my meal and to buy another at my favorite restaurant. I decline that offer. Knowing that he took the situation seriously(as he should) is enough for me. While I am still not pleased in regard to my experience, I can’t ask for more than what was committed to and offered. I do believe his concern was genuine and commitment to follow up on his establishment’s practices sincere. If positive change comes from my experience and his subsequent reaction then I’m satisfied. Hopefully my initial post will be the last of its kind.

Glad I braved the crappy Unilocal reviews and gave this place a try. A gem in an area where it’s hard to find non-chain and non-diner options. I would describe this more as a kebap, but maybe that’s just me. I had the lamb with no olives and mixed the garlic and hot sauces. The bread was perfect. I wished the hot sauce was a little spicier, but overall the sauce mix had good flavor. Will definitely be back.

I had the lamb Gyro…98% salad 2% Lamb… I was looking forward to a good Gyro that was not made from the normal processed meat… I haven’t eaten that processed meat in years… too bad the meat in this Gyro had potential but the 2% I had was hard and cold meat. I will try it again maybe it was just a bad cook… although there are other people complaining about the same problem.

so anyone who has reviewed this place negatively due to them not serving a traditional Greek gyro, needs to get over it! there is plenty of signage in the store specifically stating this to be the case, they state that they serve European style gyros and also state that you have never had a gyro like this before. now that we have that out of the way you can review this place based on taste, and the fact is the salad they use is super fresh, the meats are tender and flavorful and the sauces are very tasty. The bread which again is not a gyro pita, is a crunchy on the outside soft on the inside perfect fit, for someone like me, this makes for a better sandwich, it’s a matter of taste and it is very flavorful. lastly, I come here often!

I had the lamb wrap, that is basically a tortilla grilled with cucumbers, olives, onions, tomato and tzatziki sauce. Except by far most of it was white, & red cabbage and carrots. It should be called a cabbage wrap. Hardly any lamb. Actually I think it had more tzatziki sauce than lamb. Not worth the 10 $.

I understand what people said about this not really being the traditional gyro, but it’s still very enjoyable… whatever it is. Think French bread + Taco shape filled with Mediterranean fillings. Overall, not bad. Give it a try.

I just ate here today about a couple of hours ago. I saw it on my way home one night and decided to try it out. I read the reviews on here before I went, so I knew not to expect a traditional gyro. It also says that they have European style panini’s. If you decide to eat here do not expect to receive a gyro. Moving on, the quality and price were pretty satisfactory. I bought a regular sized chicken«gyro» and I got feta(an extra $ 0.80 charge) cucumbers onions and lettuce on it with the garlic sauce. I also purchased a can of soda and together it came out to be a little over $ 9. They have three different size sandwiches: regular, large, and mega. I have a large appetite, and the regular was very filling. The chicken was cooked well and had a good texture to it. It wasn’t dry at all, well marinated. The garlic sauce was delicious as well and the bread was REALLY good. I would definitely recommend trying it out and I’ll probably eat there again.

I was craving a traditional style gyro and was served a over priced sloppy lamb gyro with olives and coleslaw? Really who puts olives in a gyro wtf!

Gotta say, the food is just not good. The employees are fine and I was served in a reasonable amount of time. But the ingredients are just not the right mix. Best part of this sandwich(definitely should not be called a gyro, its closer to schwarma) was the bread. The tiziki sauce is too thin and missing key ingredients. The combo of the chicken(poorly spiced, if at all) and red cabbage and the sauce is just an all around failure. For a place that specializes in gyros only, these guys got every part of it, wrong. Add that to the fact that their small lamb gyro costs 10 bucks… A bit pricey for a sub par meal.

If you’re expecting the grease truck, Halal«cone» type of gyros your’re not going to get those here. The ingredients seem similar to the ones you may be thinking of, but they put it in a thin bread toasted half disc. I stopped in to wait out some traffic and I was happy with what I got. It’s not the biggest fanciest place but it’s a gyro place that sells gyros. I had the chicken with everything and hot sauce. Not bad. **UPDATE** There’s a young man that works there named Jay. I do not know him but he probably made the best Gyro I ever had. They are expanding their menu I have yet to try anything else because I’m hooked on the chicken with garlic sauce and hot sauce. If Jay is there and making Gyro’s order from him, low drippage, high on everything else.
