Really yummy lunch options! Lunch menu is split into two columns: «chicken» and«not chicken» :P I went with the teriyaki chicken dish, which is cooked over lava rocks to make the chicken extra juicy(I believe it…) All dishes come with a side of white or brown rice, and macaroni or green salad. Overall really enjoyable and flavorful lunch, and for $ 9 really close to campus, you cant beat it!

This place is wonderful! Everything I’ve had on the menu has been excellent(chicken katsu, garlic chicken, their pancakes) and the portions are more than enough for two meals. The owner is also this incredibly friendly guy — it’s always a pleasure to chat with him. And finally, there’s a dog friendly patio! On those not so rare beautiful winter days, go eat your food on the patio and soak up the sunshine.

I enjoyed Aloha Grill. I’m not a Hawaiian food expert and haven’t had a ton of it, but most of the menu is fairly Asian influenced(which I’ve had a lot of). Food– I ate the pork and cabbage. I thought it was really smart to pair the two; both in terms of taste and texture. The cabbage texture went well with the pork(crunchy vs. moist/tender pork). I only wished I had a bit more cabbage. Value– Good portion sizing and I had the lunch size, which could have definitely filled most people up. The meal came with rice and mac and cheese(which was a lighter mac and cheese, it almost tasted like a coleslaw type of side dish). The prices are very cheap. Atmosphere/service– Both excellent; the restaurant was very clean and the service was quick and friendly. Overall, definitely worth a trip and I think that I’d like to try some other stuff on the menu next time I come.

I stopped by on a slow evening to sample the foods of Aloha coffee and grill. Upon first look the place seems very clean and cute. The décor is local artists and photos of the owners friends and family in Hawaii. Being a native from Hawaii I enjoy sampling the local foods whenever I can find them. I was initially disappointed in the small menu selection. I would have enjoyed a larger variety but the selection they have looked tasty to try. I opted for the dinner size of teriyaki chicken and my partner had the dinner shoyu chicken both with the standard Mac salad. When we got our food everything looked just right, the shoyu chicken seemed to have a larger portion of meat than my teriyaki chicken. Both had good flavors, although the shoyu chicken tasted a little bland. It seems as though they added too much water to the simmering liquid. I’d highly suggest adding more shoyu and sugar to the stock. My teriyaki chicken though it had good flavor, it did taste like bottled teriyaki sauce which was unfortunate. The chicken was cooked a little too long as well. The Mac salad was inedible. The mayonnaise was either watered down as well or miracle whip with a strong onion flavor and not much else. All in all I would give them another try if they fix these couple issues: the Mac salad, and the weak sauce in the shoyu chicken.

I think this has become«my place». They never disappoint. The food is always delicious and the coffee is great, too. You just can’t go wrong, particularly if the weather is nice enough for the patio seating.

My first impression of this place was good. It’s colorful and bright, even on a gloomy day. The atmosphere is upbeat and fun with reggae music and footage of surfing on a tv on the wall. I was greatly impressed by the variety of drinks: sodas, beers, coffees, Hawaiian sodas, organic sodas, etc. The organic sodas we got were delicious. The service was neither good nor bad. I don’t understand how this place has such good reviews, though. The place brags about how all their food is local and prepared from scratch, and serves it alongside organic drinks. It was very wrong of me to assume that because of these things, they would use quality ingredients in their food. The brownie I had was gas station quality. Oh well, I figured they probably don’t make them in house. But it didn’t end there. My fish was disgusting. It tasted like it was previously frozen, and had almost no seasoning to mask that flavor. The macaroni salad was bland as well. The rice, which was the only part of the meal I ate, is about as good as panda express, complete with the plastic box after taste. I tried my boyfriend’s teriyaki beef and I almost spat it out. They clearly use the lowest quality soy sauce they can find. It was horrifically disgusting. As I write this, we are both sick and in pain from the food we ate. Not only was the food pretty crappy, but the portions were small. We paid $ 11 for the large plates and they still were small. I feel like if they’re going to spend so little money on the ingredients, then why are the prices so high? I’m disappointed. Unilocal has misled me today.

Very good food. I’ve so far been here twice. Garlic chicken, Teri Beef, Chicken Katsu were exceptional. However, what surprised me the most was the little pie? looking treat on the counter. It had a taste of mochi and coconut flakes, none of which I like, but wow… that thing is amazing. Also, there’s some parking spot in the back alley.

Oh My Gawd this place is bomb! After leaving the foothills mall this place has expanded into something truly amazing. Their coffee is very underrated, as a coffee addict I cannot express how good this place is. The barista’s have excellent recommendations that will definitely leave you very satisfied. More recently they are now more known for their food. The owners came straight from Hawaii and this is reflected directly in their food. Their portions are huge and punch a lot of flavor. You simply cannot go wrong with any of their dishes. Aloha is the place to go. From the service to the food this place has it all. Highly recommended for all occasions. They fixed the teriyaki chicken… My go to place for great meals. They also have organic and fair trade coffee plus beers…
