This place got renamed, but if i had to guess same owners and same wonderful people working there. I feel terrible for not knowing her name, but the waitress there is so attentive. My mom and i been going there last summer almost every weekend, and then for some while we stopped. Last weekend when we had brunch there, she remembered us and was asking what happened, and that felt good that she remembered us. They have great panini, many choices, they have great selection of teas. I never got disappointed with the food, it’s always been fresh and tasted amazing. Thank you guys, and keep up the good work! Also, they have nice place to sit outside, since summer season is almost here.

I was borderline reluctant to come to this place reading the reviews in here. Some people must have«special» expectations, that I do not get. This place claims a Parisian flare, and as a true Parisian, I can totally grant them my «seal of approval». I have an excellent Americano, a generous really freshly squeezed orange juice, a wonderful«fab four» grilled cheese, all was tasty, fresh, well prepared with good ingredients. The service was perfect, efficient, quick affable without being phony. I would highly recommend.

Menu looked great, it looked great for the 15 mins we sat there as our table got skipped in order to tend to a bigger group who were probably regulars. The waitress probably thought«bigger tip». That’s great because we walked out shortly after. Maybe if we were just served with glasses of water to be acknowledged it would’ve been better.

Food was good but service was worst I experienced in Fort Lee. If you want to enjoy your breakfast and not be rushed or deal with frazzled and uncaring staff, then DONOTCOMETOTHISPLACE. The waiter, frazzled by some internal misunderstanding among the staff literally spilled milk on my leather jacket and didn’t even apologize and when was confronted just said: «I will put it in the cleaner» and walked away. Absolutely abhorrent customer service. The manager or owner should do something about this. Worst breakfast joint in Fort Lee. A disservice to the community to have such customer service.

Not sure why there were so many poor reviews on the service for this place. Our first time and we enjoyed the food and the service. About four to the waitstaff and they all partnered and accommodated our needs. We were there for Saturday late breakfast around 11am. My husband ordered eggs Benedict with a side of bacon and I ordered the omelettes scrambled soft with loads of veggies. Overall, the food was very tasty. And their home fries, u just have to finish it all. We will return again as they have a robust menu. The place was pretty full and everyone seemed contempt and all the food looked great. So happy we came here. Hope this continues.

Cute little place. Delicious sandwiches(and so much variety) and the orange/blueberry pancakes are to die for!

I always enjoy my experience at this place. The food it phenomenal and so healthy compared to everything in the surrounding area. Their selection of fresh squeezed juices are amazing. My personal favorite is the apple.

I was lucky enough to enjoy ny linner(lunch/dinner) here on Sunday afternoon. Let’s start with the décor. It’s French themed but the food menu has changed. It’s a homey atmosphere with comfortable seating. The staff was wonderful and we were able to meet the owner James and his wife. Both were delightful and were very meticulous when bringing out food. They definitely made us feel important asking us for refills and napkins. The food. Well we ate a lot of food that we left in a food coma. We started with the spring egg rolls which were absolutely delicious. What made them so delicious was the sauce. I can’t pinpoint what the sauce was, but it was good. Then we enjoyed deep fried dumplings which were also good but the spring rolls were definitely better. We then had an eggplant panini sandwich on a whole wheat roll with fresh mozzarella. This was one of my favorite entrees so far here. We also had chicken quesadillas which were typically good. Followed by blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup. They were fluffy and felt like I was eating healthy just because of the syrup and blueberries. We finally ended with the chicken goat cheese salad which was extra refreshing. Overall really nice place and good food! Will have to return here again soon!

This is not a bad place for brunch. We were looking for a new place to have brunch while visiting my parents and this place seemed to fit the bill. It’s pretty cute on the inside and I suppose we went at a strange enough time to get seating right away. For drinks we had regular coffee and an iced tea. My boyfriend thought the iced tea was good and the drip coffee is decent. I was disappointed to find out they had no substitute for cow’s milk such as almond or soy milk. I really think it’s strange for a place in Fort Lee(pretty progressive, close to New York) to not have any cow’s milk substitute. Anyway, my mom ordered the omelette with vegetables and that salad with mozzarella on the side(I can’t remember the name!), my dad ordered the eggs benedict, my boyfriend ordered the tuna melt and I ordered the nova benedict. My parents didn’t comment much on the food, except for the fact that my mom would have rather had the mozzarella in the omelette so I’m not sure if that stuff was good. My boyfriend and I shared ours. The nova benedict wasn’t bad, but the eggs seemed under cooked and I have had better elsewhere. The tuna melt, however, was quite good. I don’t think you can go wrong with a tuna melt unless the tuna is bad or you don’t like tuna. As I mentioned, I liked the atmosphere and they have really cute tea cups. I’m a sucker for cute mugs and tea cups. The service was pretty quick, which is always nice. I suppose I’m just really spoiled by all the amazing brunch places in New York so this place didn’t particularly«wow» me. Either way, this place is still worth a shot and I would like to try a muffin or something next time.

This is a really great little place that has a big selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads, and burgers, but honestly not that many eggs. I’m not sure why it’s called Eggty8 because there’s only about 5 things with eggs on the menu. But instead of getting caught up in the name, lets get into the food. They always have chicken noodle soup and a soup of the day and they can make their wraps into sandwiches if you ask. I love their 7 grain bread and they slightly toast your bread automatically which I love! When I was here there were two old ladies sitting and reading their newspapers. They didn’t say a word to each other but ate their chicken soups in peace while people watching in between. That gives you an idea about how good of a place this is to just chill and enjoy the morning.

We don’t go here enough. We wanted eggs, but the diners around here aren’t great. It’s kind of a tough place to park, but the food is really good the prices are very fair. The wife had poached eggs and u had omlet with sausage spinach and cheese, 2 coffees for 20. Good service as well

I visited for the first time today. I ordered the Nova Salmon Benedict… $ 13, not cheap. The establishment was busy… I got there around 10:15 am. I chose to sit in the«café» section of the restaurant so I did not have to wait for a table. I ordered and waited well over 20 minutes to be served. Now my review… The eggs were not poached… they were raw and«snotty».The English muffin, I don’t think it touched a toaster. For the first time ever in my life, I sent a meal back. I truly could not eat it. I stood up and walked over toward the doorway in order to get attention. A man noticed me, I’m assuming the owner/manager(as he did socialize with other patrons) and I showed that my eggs were not poached, but, raw. He took my plate and returned 10 minutes later with not a new dish, but the raw eggs removed and replaced with properly poached eggs and and covered abundance of hollandaise sauce. So, now, I’m served poached eggs over cold, untoasted English Muffin… and still runny raw egg left in my plate. Also, the salad wasn’t dressed… sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and what seemed to be store bought mixed greens. The table next to me also had an issue with there order. An order that was sent back. I love and value Unilocal.I rarely speak poorly of establishments. But, I would have liked to have been served a new plate of food, especially after showing the owner/manager that the eggs were grossly raw. It’s a cute establishment, and, I wish them well… but, things need to be fixed.

Had such high hopes for this place but it was so disappointing. The server/waitress would never come by, even to take our order. We had to literally yell for someone for everything we needed just to get some attention and basic service. Food was average, at best.

Eggty 8 Café was a huge disappointment. Fooled by their inviting interior, my friends and I took a risk and tried for their breakfast foods. We sat down at 3:40, ordered two waffles and one muffin and attempted to order coffee but was shot down when they admitted that none of their machines worked at the moment. We received the waffles and muffin 25 minutes after and were the ONLY customers there…(does it seriously take that long to make two waffles and reheat a muffin??!) we were further disappointed by how cheap the waffles tasted. they tasted like frozen waffles from the supermarket… they were not even hot. just mildly warm… the syrup was a cheap brand and tasted very bad. just overall very disappointing and annoying experience.

Meh. When this place was La Maison, they served similar dishes but the food wasn’t this bad. The service is still just as spotty as before. They can’t handle more than 4 tables. They’re coffee is apparently a tad more special, so don’t expect cheap coffee here, but it is unlimited. The service was SOOOOOSLOW. The staff seemed to be the same peeps as La Maison’s. There were only 2 other tables filled when we arrived at 11am for family lunch. Four of us had to turn around and wave our arms to flag the waitress down. We wanted more coffee… Is that not something you should be coming back around for anyway? So I give 0 for service. The food was about 3 stars at best. I would skip this place and go to Maywood or Edgewater family rest/diner if you want good food. My shashuka was TASTELESS. DONOTORDERTHESHASHUKA. I ate half an egg in it and almost threw up and had to just eat off other people’s plates. Everything else seemed decent but none of the food puts it on equal footing with, say, the Original Pancake House, which is also a 4 star place at best. I should’ve had a sandwich. Ugh. Parking is inconvenient so we just walk here from our condo. The food price were warranted. I just wish service was better and that I had never tried their shashuka ever. My family members all said their food was so so– again, nothing to rave about.

This place is fantastic for breakfast or brunch. The key ingredients to a great relaxing breakfast include: a warm, welcoming environment, attentive and friendly service, good food and even better coffee and tea. This place hits all those points. Breakfast in this area can be a bit tough, with many places being a complete zoo and parking being absurd. While this is a smaller place, you will find little difficulty finding parking either in the back, on the street(free on Sunday) or a nearby municipal pay lot a bit across the street. A bit more civilized than fighting for spots in a shopping plaza or having to valet at some other places(which I find a bit absurd for a diner). As far as the food, if you enjoy a plate of sugar or a pile of salt then this is not your place. If you enjoy appropriate amounts of seasoning and well-balanced flavors then you will be pleased. The blueberry orange pancakes were amazing and had perfect flavors and textures. Eggs Benedict also very solid and checks all the boxes. These people also know how to make a latte, and their tea selection and service is among the top places in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend this place for a more civilized breakfast experience. Will be back for sure, and I will have to give lunch a shot as well.

When in mood for some sun dried tomatoes & brie w/grilled chix sandwich, this is my goto place. Easy, friendly staff, quick service and location is very convenient. On multiple occations, tried their breakfast /brunch & lunch menus and food has always been decent +. I feel consistency is always a plus for a food business. Crispy oriental chix salad, grilled veggie salad, sandwiches on 7 grain bread, quesadilla, burger… etc. It’s a great place for a easy brunch or lunch.

Located across from my old apartment, I never had a desire to come to this place while it was some other name even though it was within 2 minute walk for me, just seemed blah. Here we are now, new name and all I figured why not check it out. So I had a long Saturday night, asked a friend if they wanted to do brunch and we ended up here. They have outdoor and indoor seating, there is some street parking, they have their own small parking lot, and another one across to the right. The location is nice. Anyhow on to the restaurant, the décor is decent, the staff seem quite friendly, and made some recommendations. So ordered a Mango Smoothie, Orange Juice, coffee, Blueberry Orange Pancakes, sweet potatoe fries and the Chicken Quesdilla with goat cheese. The Mango smoothie is Delicous and the serving is enough for two people, but it’s so addicting you might not wanna share. The Orange Juice just seemed to be like what it is, fresh squeezed Orange juice. Sweet potatoe fries were average. The Blueberry Orange pancakes, were tasty but it is an acquired taste. I’m not a fan but I can’t say it didn’t taste good. The Chicken Quesdilla was awesome. I definitely recommend it for quesdilla fans. Maybe some better options on sauces might have solidfied it for me. I’d give it 5 stars but just felt the menu was slightly lacking. Check it out sometime if you are ever in the neighborhood, having parking and being located near A park also make this a fun spot for brunch.

The food is far worse from when it used to be maison. The atmosphere is the same and everything else is the same as before(besides the name and ownership change) We had the fresh squeezed lemonade which was nothing spectacular, and the iced coffee with was okay too. The food however… My friend had an omlette which was overcooked and had too little of the extra ingredients(spinach, cheese, etc) I had the eggs benedict which was worse. The sauce tasted as if it was straight from a can. The homefries, which I was looking forward to, were really starchy and bland. It was the type of starchy texture you get from old potatoes or the cheap kinds you get for 2 dollars a bag on sale. Maybe it was a bad day, but experience with the new ownership was subpar.

This place blew me away. I usually don’t give 5 stars reviews right out the gate unless the place proves it’s the BEST of its kind and is consistent. This place met both criteria right out the gate! I went to this place for brunch literally BACKTOBACK Saturday and Sunday. They offer outdoor seating(even though we sat inside because it’s also so cute and charming). They have a large variety of fresh breakfast options; but they also have a large list of amazing lunch options. Hence, BRUNCH here is amazing. You can tell their dishes are made with a little TLC. Not many places can do the«café» genre well and with the sandwiches and breakfasts I’ve tried over the last 2 times I went(with 4 people) this place nails it. I like that they mainly have an a la Cart type of menu. You can go in with 10 $ and get a sandwich if your feeling it, and skip on the side. Or add the side for a couple bucks extra. Their breakfast also hit the nail on the head. It’s light, and fresh. Not like those big chain breakfast places where you walk out and easily could of confused what you ate for a heavy dessert. The chicken Brie sundried tomato sandwich my sister ordered was INSANELY delicious. The smoked salmon was exactly what I wanted out of a lox sandwich. The eggplant chicken was a favorite of the group as well. The French toast, delicious! I even tried the goat cheese chicken quesadilla. oh-my-goodness. STOPPIT-just –knock it off eggty 8! You’re making my taste buds explode! I even ordered a sandwich for the hubby to go cuz I had to have him try it; triple decker TODIEFOR. They also have fresh squeezed and blended juices! Orange juice size was impressive for the cost as well. As you can read, this place blew my socks off in regards to a brunch spot. Please do yourself a favor and check it out!
