We arrived too late for dim sum. Darn! We were able to order a dim sum platter as an appetizer. There were five different types with two pieces each; almost enough for a meal in itself. The last time I had dim sum was in a restaurant in San Francisco in September. Waitresses wandered among the tables carrying trays and you indicated if you wanted that particular dish. If we asked what it was, only one waitress spoke a tiny bit of English, so we were eating things just by appearance. When I went to write a review of the establishment on Unilocal,I found a warning that the restaurant had scored in the bottom 2% on the health inspector’s scale. I immediately regretted eating all those nameless dishes. Ginger Bistro is nothing like that genuine SF dim sum restaurant. You won’t find me rhapsodizing over a big city place that slings dim sum. The menu at Ginger Bistro lists the ingredients of each dish. I ordered the Korean BBQ style crispy pork belly along with a side of rice. The pork belly was fantastically delicious. I don’t know what spices are used in the rub, but the flavor is magical. I also ordered a glass of lychee iced tea and found it tasty and refreshing. The restaurant itself is very clean and spacious. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient. They were very kind when my husband continually re-used the three phrases he knows in Chinese. We will have to try this place again during the dim sum hours prior to 3pm.

Ginger Bistro has been open little over a year. We have been here more than a dozen time. This is our go-to-Chinese restaurant in Fort Myers. Tonight four of us went to Ginger Bistro for dinner. We have the salt and pepper chicken wings for appetizer. The wings are hot and juicy while the Jalapeño spiced vermicelli added extra kick to the wings. Some time we have the salt and pepper calamari instead. The Mandarin pork chop is right on with its sweet and sour sauce. The sliced chicken with celery pan fried hit the spot. We also ordered a sautéed Snow Peapod leaves as part of vegetable dish. They are cooked to perfection. The lightly coated Walnut Shrimp is still my wife’s favorite Ginger Bistro dish! Why not five stars? Well, all Chinese restaurants I frequented served Tea for free but Ginger Bistro charged $ 1 per person. If the owner drop that charge, I will change the rating to five stars! Nevertheless, it is a good restaurant!

No complaints gets 5stars. Server was Taafe and she was friendly, provided good service and was knowledgeable. The décor is not what you’d expect looking from the outside. It’s very modern and well-arranged inside. The menu is abundant with items to choose from. Their dim sum menu is full of various dumplings and rolls. Prices were reasonable. I would return.

Nice atmosphere. Lunch menu not valid on weekends so I ordered ala carte. Crispy pork bbq, white rice and shrimp won ton soup. Everything cooked to perfection. The crispy pork was a plate full all cut nicely into bite sized pieces. The soup was different in the fact I’ve never had shrimp won ton before, and I liked it. I’ll come back during the week and try something else.

The best Chinese food I’ve had since moving to Ft. Myers(from northern NJ). So happy we found it, definitely have their Chicken corn soup & Walnut Shrimp!

Dim sum on a Saturday morning right after they opened. Very very Fresh and delicious. Had shrimp dumplings, shrimp rice roll, beef chow fun, turnip cake, which all tasted non-frozen from the texture of the rice noodles and dumpling wrappers or Chrisp turnip cake. The only item that tasted frozen was the soup dumplings and the wrapper was a bit thick. For dessert, the egg tart was very tasty. Satisfying meal and will come back soon. And great service. Attentive, but not overbearing. Quick to refill water in our pot of tea and glasses.

In florida it can be a bit of a task to find a descent restaurant that serves dim sum. For you who don’t know what dim sum is, it can easily be compared to tapas. Small plates of food easily shared with our respective party and is easily a great way to spend a night with your foodie friends over some bottles of wine or some drinks. Ginger Bistro is the place to go to for a great Chinese dim sum experience. The plates are always fresh and steaming hot in their bamboo steamers when presented, the prices are relatively respectable for the authenticity and quality of ingredients, and the ambiance yet plain is nicely lit and relatively spacious. Something can be said about a restaurant and its food when 90% of the customers coming in are from South East Asia. I give this place a 4 star rating because of its great food, good prices and good ambiance. It missed out on a 5 star rating due to its servers rushing around and not totally focusing on the quality of service towards the guests.

When I craved dim sum in Fort Myers, I used to go to ER, not because it’s good, it’s because it’s almost the only dim sum place in Fort Myers. Thankfully, there’s Ginger Bistro now. Ginger Bistro offers dim sum(served till 3pm) and Hong Kong style BBQ in addition to a regular American influenced Chinese menu. The restaurant is very spacious and it has a westernized vibe to it with the cushioned chairs and light purple-rish paint. Towards the back of one of the 2 dining rooms(there’re 2 dining rooms), you could see different type of BBQ being hung up — BBQ pork, roasted duck and BBQ chicken, etc. I ordered dim sum this time. One thing to note is that if you order house tea it’s only $ 1/person, but if you ordered other kinds of tea it’s over $ 6/person. They have an extensive dim sum menu with pictures, all you need to do is to fill out the quantity of each item you want to order. All dim sum’s priced around $ 3-$ 5. I ordered the beef noodle roll, roast pork turnover, pan fried pork buns, stuffed eggplant(because they ran out of egg custard tarts), 2 types of steamed dumplings, bean curd sheets rolls and fried taro puffs for dim sum. In addition, I ordered a stir-fry udon with seafoods. Food arrived within minutes of us placing the order. Soon enough, the whole table’s covered with delicious dishes. I think the steamed dumplings here are average, but everything else is exceeding my expectation for a dim sum place in Fort Myers(I live in NYC, of course, NYC has better dim sum). The stuffed eggplant is perfectly seared and you could sense the crispiness of the stuffing inside. The rice noodle rolls are soft and smooth, not the noodle rolls you get at certain dim sum places where the rolls are hardened and overly chewy. The roast pork turnover is flaky and not too oily(the char siu stuffing inside), I ate 2 out of the 3 that comes in an order. The stir-fry udon has the right amount of spiciness to it, not your average stir-fry udon soaked with a pre-made soy sauce-based sauce. I was also pleasantly surprised that you could find squid, scallops and shrimps in the seafood udon, as normally, you would only see pieces of cheap shrimps. Servers here are very attentive and courteous. They also have a nice bathroom that is clean and has adequate lighting. As far as the damage(price), I spent $ 60(with a $ 10 tip I gave) for 2 people with 8 dishes of dim sum and a stir-fry udon ordered. I think it’s definitely worth it for the experience and ambience of the restaurant. I would definitely come here for dim sum again when I am in Fort Myers.

This place is nothing short of phenomenal. The only setback is the plaza that it’s in.(Don’t let that fool you!) inside is incredible, calm atmosphere, very modern and exceptional service. The food was great, my wife and I ordered the tea and egg drop soup to start and they were super fast in bringing it out. The meals were great too, but you’ll have to come see for yourself. We will be back.

What a wonderful surprise hiding in a so so strip mall. Went there at the last min and stumbled into Dim Sum. I cannot tell you my joy at seeing steamed pork buns in a restaurant in Fort Myers. They were fantastic and fresh. No way they were frozen. I only gave it four stars and not five, because I have only had the Dim Sum one time. I want to go back to try the dinner or lunch menu. But if the regular menu is any bring like the Dim Sum menu, I am a believer. Give it a shot! I had three Dim Sum items and was happily satisfied and my check was not even $ 10.

Don’t let the quiet location fool you, Ginger Bistro is first-rate Hong Kong Style Bar B Q, Dim Sum, and Contonese fair. Inside the décor is clean and modern. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. Each dish is presented as a work of art, with more detail to plating than I’ve ever encountered in a US-based incarnation of a Chinese restaurant. I had the Sea Food Birdsnest, which is served in a bowel(nest) of crispy noodles. Our party also had the General’s Tofu(brilliant), the Mango Chicken(most popular among my group) and the Chicken with Broccoli. If it were not for Unilocal I would have never found this place and I’m happy to write this review.

Started off good then quality tanked A lot of pre made items The general tso and orange chicken are the same whereas traditionally the general tso is lightly dusted. In fact there chicken is so heavily breaded I can’t even FINDCHICKENINIT. The pad Thai chicken is ok except the chicken is that crappy frozen stuff Great recipes with low quality. Over cooked over spiced. People here are just not used to good dim sum that they forget. However even on queens NY this place would fail — I am sure the sister restaurant can’t be the same. Mongolian beef and beef w broccoli use cheap meat. They cheap out on the type and quantity of veggies. Save your money and make it yourself at home Sad that this could have been good.

Coming from NYC and some of the best dim sum around, this place was pretty standard. The pork buns was the best dish we had & the veggie dumplings didnt disappoint, but overall just ok. The service was a bit slow and forgetful. Had to ask for chopsticks, soy sauce dishes, & extra plates which should be a given. Very good prices though if your just looking for a good lunch fix.

Ginger Bistro is serving Ft. Myers traditional H.K. Style BBQ, Cantonese and Dim Sum. The menu is extensive, so I suggest you zero in on what you’re wanting by category rather than trying to read the entire tome. FYI: Dim Sum is offered until 3:00PM. Choices may be limited toward then end of the time it is offered. The dining environment is nice. The space is clean. The staff are friendly. Our attentive server, Tracy, gave us excellent service. She didn’t hover but came back in a flash when our beverages needed refills and checked in often. We ordered Mongolian Beef and Szechwan Chicken for dinner. Both had great flavor. The Mongolian Beef wasn’t drowning in scallions, which impressed my husband. The Szechwan Chicken had a greater variety of vegetables than I’ve been given before and I enjoyed their take on this dish. Final Assessment: We’re looking forward to coming back and trying more of the food offered here. Hopefully, next time we can try the Dim Sum. Our initial visit earned 5 Stars.

This is definitely not as good as the authentic Chinese food you would get in NYC but considering where we were, everything was pretty good. They messed up two of our orders twice, giving us dishes we did not order and they had to re-make but other than that, the space is very nice with high ceilings and modern décor.

It’s a year later and the place is, deservedly, mobbed. Been here 4 times in three weeks, and if I lived here full time would be here at least weekly. Let me make this easy: Wife and I, 4 meals each, with apps and entrees, and each dish a 5 star effort. At least as good as any Chinese rest in Philly and NYC China town. And a great value to boot. Make reservations including for lunch, as the dim sum is wonderful no matter what kind. Will think about this place for the next 11 months toll we come back to FLA again.

Ginger Bistro is a wonderful restaurant that serves high quality Chinese food at reasonable prices. The menu is extensive including a large number of Dim Sum options and lunch specials. From the Dim Sum menu, I tried the Shrimp Dumplings and the Roast Pork Bun. I also had the Egg Drop Soup and the Roast Duck. The Shrimp Dumplings were filled with perfectly tender shrimp and the Roast Pork Bun was lightly sweet and delicious. The Egg Drop Soup was full of flavor and the Roast Duck was tender with a lightly sweet glaze on top. The Roast Duck was a little tricky to eat since I did not initially realize the bones were still in the meat but once I figured out to remove the top part away from the small bones, my dining experience was much more pleasant. Overall, Ginger Bistro is a must visit.

Omg, the food is amazing!!! We had the bbq sampler with duck and pork belly. We also had the dim sum sampler. I really wish this restaurant was in Orlando. My husband and I would be there a couple times a week. Do not be turned off because it is located in a strip mall. The dim sum rivals that of Chicago. Too bad we were only in Ft. Myers one night or we would have gone back. I also had a strawberry iced tea and it was so good and fleshing I could drink a gallon of it. Our server was very pleasant. No complaints about anything. Excellent food at an excellent price

We went back again to give this place another chance. Previously the service had been deplorable and the food merely so-so. I’m delighted to report that things have improved. The service was considerably better, although far from top notch. The food was delivered to us sporadically and the waitress had to be summoned, but aside from that all was well. I had the Shanghai Dumplings(a/k/a Pork Soup Bun — A9). They were okay but the wrappers were too thick and the dumplings were not as juicy as the previous time. Go figure. I also had the Seafood Crispy Noodle dish(R20), one of my favorites and it was very good. Overall, a much better experience this time.

First timer! Here for the dim sum :) dim was fresh and good. They didn’t have many options for the dim sum which was understandable since I came late. This place has potential to grow. I noticed the staff may need a little bit more training. Things seem pretty unorganized. They didn’t have boba tea which was a bummer. The prices here are a little more expensive then DJ restaurant. I will come back only when I’m in the area.
