Hideout 125

Husband and I just stopped in for drinks and an appetizer after work. We sat in the bar, which has a really cool atmosphere, and isn’t too big so it feels cozy. I had the Hideout Mule and really loved it! Grapefruit + vanilla sounds like a weird combo but somehow it works. My husband had an old fashioned… I stole a few sips and couldn’t believe how smooth it was. He proclaims it’s the best old fashioned in the city ;) We split the flatbread with goat cheese, kale and balsamic reduction. Definitely something I would order again! Our server was sweet and the rest of the staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, great experience. I’d love to come back for dinner sometime!

Had my heart set on the meatballs until the server told us the specials. Ordered the peppercorn crusted prime rib. Everything was delicious, but the best thing on the plate was the sherry au jus.

From beginning to end, this was a wonderful experience. We made reservations right through Unilocal,which was very convenient. I would advise Fri, Sat nights making reservations.
This was our first time coming here. The staff was incredibly professional and friendly, including the manager who sat us. The ambiance was nice, and restaurant was clean. They have a nice selection of specialty drinks and alcohol.
Our waitress, Brittany was absolutely amazing. One of the best we’ve had. She was polite, friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable.
We started with the chicken and waffles. Warning — very spicy, but delicious and a large portion. Would have liked perhaps one more waffle on the plate to balance out. Had the baked potato soup. Nice and creamy and flavorful. The bread they serve was divine, and even more so dipped in the soup. I tasted my wife’s french onion soup and wasn’t disappointed.
The meal I had was the sea bass over a bed of herb risotto. The fish was buttery, flaky and delicious as was the risotto. My wife had the pork chop which was delicious and big.
This place, without a doubt deserved 5 stars and we will definitely go back.

The atmosphere was very cool, emulating the times of the prohibition. The list of house cocktails was extensive and impressive. The Romeo foxtrot was delicious. The calamari appetizer was delightful. I topped the night off with the French onion soup and the salmon. The salmon i believe is one of the best salmon dishes I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection. I will definitely be returning!

My hubby & I had reservations at Hideout 125 for Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere is wonderful, really hip & romantic. The mules & cocktails were outstanding. Hubby had oysters (oh my gosh did he love them) and I had an apple butter pork chop that was amazing.
Oh & the cinnamon rolls with bacon? Get outta here!!! So good.
Definitely will be back!!!

Hideout 125 is a cool place. It has the prohibition era feel about it. We enjoyed our dinner, that being said, there is also room for some improvements. I read in many reviews that the restaurant doesn’t honor reservation times. We did not make a reservation and were told that we would have a 20 min wait. During our 35 min wait, I witnessed every single reservation party that came in have to wait for their table. There was a very friendly and professional hostess and a younger one, who was in training, barely smiled and had trouble holding an adult conversation in a professional manor. Not the type of hostess that should be at this nice of a restaurant, especially when handling guests that were unhappy with their reserved table not being available. We ended up sitting at the bar because a table did not become available for us.
Ok, now for the good part. The bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable. The cocktail menu is great and there is something for everybody. I enjoyed the Margarita and the Hideaway 125 Mule, which was a fun spin on a Moscow Mule. My husband loves whiskey and the restaurant has a nice selection.
We chose to share 3 small plates for dinner. The flatbread, the meatballs and filet skewers. All were flavored well. The flatbread was our favorite.
There seemed to be a lively energy in the bar which we enjoyed, so I recommend eating in the bar area if looking for a fun evening with a group of friends.

This place was OK. We went for my husband’s birthday. We made a reservation but still had to wait 15 minutes or so. The place was packed, which was nice to see.
The service was super friendly and really fast despite the fact the restaurant was busy.
So, good job on that!
The wine by the glass list is a little short, but the Cabernet I ordered was really nice. My husband ordered a Manhattan and an old fashioned and enjoyed both.
The food is what made it just OK. First of all, come hungry because the portions were massive. Even the small plates were huge. I don’t think we finished anything we ordered.
We started with the chicken and waffles which was, by far, the best thing we had all night and the only dish we ate all of.
Next came soup and salad. My husband had the kale salad which he said was pretty bland. He had to doctor it up with quite a bit of salt. I had the French onion soup which was good, but tasted like any other French onion soup. So nothing special.
For entrees, I had the sea bass which was HUGE but really delicious. But the risotto that came with it was under seasoned and needed salt, but it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the rib eye. Again MASSIVE. He could only finish half. He said it was pretty good and the cook was spot on.
It was his birthday so we did get a free dessert of our choice (yeah!). We ordered the crème brûlée which tasted like all the other crème brûlées I’ve ever had.
Overall, it was pretty good. But nothing special. If we want to spend $ 150 on dinner, we may head somewhere else.

The food & service was outstanding! Ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer, they were tender & full of flavor. For the entrée I had the Scallops cooked perfectly, with the hint of ginger & spice!

Chicken & Waffles appetizer: Spicy, velvet-​y, decadent, delicious.
Ribs: Fall off your fork, melt in your mouth awesome.
Scallops: Perfectly cooked, light, yet decadent.
Sit at the bar and watch the bartender make the most amazing cocktails you’ve ever had. The negroni was spot on. Awesome atmosphere. Upscale without being hoity-​toity.

Service warm and inviting. Warm Bread is fresh baked with whipped butter. Menu options should appeal to most. Could use a few more lite dishes or salad options, but overall a good balance of creativity and main staples.
Had Tuesday special: Burger + Martinis. I’ve had a lot of burgers and this ranks up there in the top 3. It is seriously good (seasoned perfectly, perfect meat blend, perfect moisture, and cooked to order). Fries were okay but could use some salt or a little extra punch. The in-​house ketchup was a good accompaniment. The mac n cheese was very interesting and worth trying. Normally seafood and cheese are polar opposites. However, this mac n cheese turns that theory on its head. The lighter cheese notes pair well with the real crab meat. The crunchy bread crumbs offer a good texture play. I recommend mixing crumbs so they soak up just a bit of the cheese.
We had a Dirty Martini and Cosmo; both were good. Not the best martini that I’ve ever had, but a solid drink for six bucks! They are known for their elegant cocktails, but I wanted something lighter. Jumped for a flight of 90minute DFH, Boulevard Tank 7, and Upland Velvet Champagne. All three went with different components of meal, so I was happy as can be.
Their six layer chocolate cake was good but a little dry and dense. The chocolate taste was spot on though. It could use a bit more icing to offset cake. Maybe more ganache or secondary chocolate icing could make it stellar.
Overall. A great experience. We will be back.

If you have not tried hideout yet please get in there! Food is great from the bread to dessert! The cocktails are wonderful and they have a decent wine list. My favorite is the filet and my honey likes the ribeye. Chicken and waffles are excellent as well.

Had an amazing dinner here this past Saturday night. I have been to many, many restaurants and the service that We received, not just from our server but from everyone, was the best I have experienced ever. You can tell the management has created a culture where everyone looks out for the guests and want them to have a great time. I had the Sea Bass. It was perfect. The risotto was creamy and cooked perfectly. My husband had the ribeye and was very happy with his meal as well. For dessert we split the bread pudding which was great and I had a cappuccino, which was delicious. This is now our favorite fine dining spot in the Fort.

My parents and I went on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was not busy so we were sat right away. We sat in a booth, which seemed small even for three people.
My dad had a wedge salad that was not cored. When we told the waitress, she told us that she had mentioned it to the kitchen staff several times, but that they don’t listen to her.
My mom and I shared the chop salad, which was good.
I had the macaroni and cheese and my mom had the meatballs. Both were good, but nothing extraordinary. My dad had the lamb and said that it was lacking flavor.
We had asked about hamburgers because we had heard they were good, but apparently they are only served on Tuesdays. I don’t know why you would limit a menu item to one day if it’s so good.
Our service was good at first but our waitress disappeared for a while after we had received our food. I had to get up to find her and ask for our check. She was up chatting at the front hostess stand.
For $ 80 for three people, we were not impressed. I don’t think we will go back.

We just came across this gem. It’s a nice (romantic) little restaurant that has an excellent menu and very attentive wait staff. The food was excellent and we were very pleased. We’ll be back!

Don’t let the 3 stars deter you: I’m halfway between «A-​OK» and «I’m a Fan.»
Had been wanting to try this place for a while, so I finally got the chance and this review is based on one visit only.
Service was excellent: prompt and friendly; staff was welcoming. All the food we had was great – just not… impressive. I enjoyed it, but I’ve had better. The beer flight was fun but their mixologist is on to something and we’d go back for a cocktail for sure!
I just can’t quite place what was missing for us… atmosphere? vibe? We enjoyed our dinner and service but there was nothing outstanding to make us want to come back over and over again — at the price we paid for dinner I’d be more inclined to spend a bit more over at Baker Street because of the overall ambiance.
However, this is truly a class restaurant in the north part of Fort Wayne and should be considered for a special occasion or business deal.

The food was definitely good, and prompt. However, as a vegetarian, I would recommend somewhere else. Their pasta dish was decent, but truly was the only option. They seem committed to killing something in order to make every appetizer, salad, soup, entrée, and even a desert. That being said, my husband enjoyed his steak and they split a salad for us (removing the meaty bits for me).

This place was recommended to me by a friend who used to live in Fort Wayne. I’m just in town for a few days on business but I am glad I stopped here for dinner! I sat at the bar and was greeted right away. Both bartenders were great.

I ordered the sea bass. DELICIOUS! My friend told me that I had to try their chocolate cake for dessert… it was a huge portion. Easily enough for 2 to share but as I was alone I took half back to the hotel with me. Between the fantastic food to the great service, this place is definitely 5 stars!

My wife and I found ourselves without children and decided to celebrate our anniversary a week early at a place we both have had great times at in the past. Our reservations we booked online went perfect, and we were seated as soon as walked in the door. Our drinks arrived promptly, and as usual bread arrived on the table.
When it was time to order, my wife ordered ribeye med/​rare and I ordered sea bass with a filet med/​well added on.
The food arrived and the waiter disappeared for about 20 minutes. The sea bass was excellent, but the steaks doneness must have been switched. The wife’s ribeye was closer to well done and my filet was almost rare towards the center. My risotto portion was barely large enough to show under the sea bass, and slightly undercooked. By the time our waiter showed back up and asked how things were and we explained why our steaks were only partially eaten we were over it. Box it up, we would like to leave now.
Not sure if this is a sign of the future, but I know it was a disappointing 15^th anniversary dinner.

The noise level was a little more than we preferred, especially with pop music which we do not like. But, we at least we’re able to talk, unlike some popular restaurants

We has scallops which were outstanding with tender asparagus evidently picked at the right time. The kale salad was nicely complimented with buttermilk dressing and the chopped salad was wonderful
For dessert, we prefer simple items. We were so happy that our waiter suggested dishes of gelato. What a great way to end our meal! The Carmel flavor was marvelous!

Ordered all of the small plates on the menu. They were all really good. The drinks were awesome (raspberry one was my favorite!)
For dessert we had the bacon cinnamon roll which was also pretty good.
