Sometimes I overlook how lucky I am. No, not because I have good health, or awesome family and friends, or great taste in music. Those things are excellent and all, but the reason I tend to overlook how blessed my life is, is because there is still a sit down, brown roofed Pizza Hut all up in my neighborhood. Do you know how lucky that makes me? I was listening to my favorite podcast Doughboys the other day, and they were reviewing Pizza Hut. Those buttheads don’t even have a sit-down Pizza Hut to review, so I couldn’t take anything they said seriously. Then I realized this Coventry Pizza Hut is one of the last of a dying breed. Most of these have gone the way of the buffalo(not the buffalo chicken though, that can still be found on the menu in wing or pizza form). I don’t eat in this Hut often enough though. My friends and I usually order delivery when we need something fast and good for whatever game we plan on watching on the weekend. That all changed this past Friday. Me and a group of 4 friends made our way over to Oley’s to get dinner. Unfortunately, Oley’s was crazy packed at 7:00 on this particular Friday night. We decided the Hut would be a decent 2nd option. I was fine with that, as I planned on ordering The Bigfoot, my favorite of all PH items. We walked into the Hut and had to wait about 5 minutes to get sat. Place was rocking! We must have arrived just in time though, because I turned around and there was a line of about 100 people behind me. First come, first serve suckers! We finally got sat after waiting for what seemed like hours(time slows when you can smell but not eat pizza). Our waitress was excellent. Jennifer F was her name, I think(much like the best song of all time, Axel F, but with Jennifer replacing the Axel part of the song title). I ordered the Bigfoot pizza, but was told that they haven’t served that particular pizza since 1993. I feel like I should have known that. Anyway, what they DID have was a deal where a medium 1-topping pizza was $ 5. Yes please. I added a trip to the salad bar to my order. That’s right. 1 pizza and a salad bar for $ 10. Plus, with the salad bar, that meant my meal was healthy and contained no calories! I win! Pull up a chair and let me explain this salad bar for the uninitiated. It contains all the stuff. Like, think about a salad topping and they have it. No, don’t think of kale, they don’t have stupid kale. They don’t have flax seeds either. Stop that. Think of a topping that is delicious and they will have it. Bacon? Croutons? Eggs? Cottage cheese? Mushrooms? Carrots? Chick peas(IKR!?)? Fried onion straws? Regular chopped onions? Broccoli? Jello(I did not put Jell-o on my salad, but you can do whatever your sick mind wants)? All of these things are on the salad bar. It is great and you have unlimited trips. Again, since it is salad, it has no calories, so trip away my friend! Pizza was good too, but the salad bar is worth the trip alone. They still have a buffet sometimes too, which is awesome. Someday this place might not exist anymore and life will seize to matter. There will only be sadness. Don’t let that timeline exist. Continue to dine here. Don’t make me contemplate a world without the dine-in Hut with the calorie-less salad bar(because it is salad and is good for you).

Black broccoli ends, again and again. The salad bar needs improvement. Prices reasonable, but be careful using coupons. I had a coupon for $ 5 items, but they applied it only once. I did catch that until home. The coupon did state multi items it could be used.

This is our go-to Pizza Hut buffet once a year as we leave Michigan to drive home to TN every Christmas. It’s one of the best PH buffets out there.

This Pizza Hut stands out over the Fort Wayne locations for their lunch buffet, Their salad bar is well stocked with an excellent house dressing. Pizza is always hot, and fresh pizza is always coming. This location also has cheese bread sticks. Above all is the service. Super friendly! You are always treated well here.
