This is a one time visit restaurant for me. Low quality fast food type for the price, lots of msg for sure, Vietnamese town is only 2 miles away and i can get much better quality foods for the same prices.

Food was ok and the service was pretty slow, though the staff of one for lunch on a Friday was quite friendly.

Checked out the reviews on Unilocal and decided to tried out. It’s in the shopping plaza where there’s used to be a 99 Ranch Market. The place was empty when we walked in and were seated quickly. We ordered the egg rolls and grilled pork spring rolls, Both tasted delicious and fresh. I tried the chicken fried rice and my wife has the steamed salmon. We both liked our selections even though the salmon was a little salty according to her. We will come back as the service was also great.

One of the few Vietnamese restaurants I have been to where there is great service. This establishment is kind of hidden away, but a great find if you’re here. The prices relative to other Vietnamese restaurants is a couple dollars more per dish, but the difference in quality is very apparent. Our group tried a number of dishes, the fried fish, chicken wings, fried tofu, shaken beef, and a couple others I don’t remember. All were delicious, but each plate did not last long haha. We say around chatting afterwards, and didn’t realize they were closed, but they quietly let us continue until we asked. They didn’t mind and let us take our time leaving. Again, it’s good food, and phenomenal service!

Sparking clean, and the food prep is professional and very fresh and tasty. Nice people working there and this really is a step up from most others like it. Try it and support it!

This is a nice little spot that is fortunately close to my childhood home. It stands out from the numerous Vietnamese restaurants in Little Saigon for a couple reasons: 1) location: It’s in a quiet little strip mall in Fountain Valley with plenty of parking(and a Baskin Robbins for dessert if you’re craving ice cream), as opposed to some of the very busy gathering spots in Little Saigon. 2) service: Very friendly and attentive. I think they asked 2 – 3 times during our meal how the food was. Our water glasses never went empty. This is a far cry from some other places where they’ve grunted and literally thrown the menus on the table(which is just part of their charm, I guess…). And as for the food, it was pretty solid. – Shrimp and pork spring rolls: good. The peanut sauce was well-balanced. – Fried chicken wings with garlic butter: super hot and crispy with good flavor. Some of the better wings I’ve had. – Flash fried crispy tofu with century egg: Well it was the first time I tried a century egg and I didn’t love it, haha… but the tofu was great with a light crispy coating and soft silky interior. The dipping sauce was great. – Fried rice with Vietnamese sausage: tasty but not remarkable. – Garlic noodles: mmmmmmm garlicky. Only get this if you don’t mind intense garlic breath :) I enjoyed them. – Shaken beef: the beef was quite tender, cooked about medium to medium well, and the sauce was full of flavor. We enjoyed our visit — it’ll definitely be a place to add to the rotation if we’re looking to grab a bite to eat close to home!

This place has great phở, and great service. That combination is rare. The best in the area.

I met with a friend here for lunch, and we took advantage of their lunch special. We both got the Phở with egg roll appetizers. Overall, the food was quite good, our waiter was friendly and very accommodating(he didn’t rush us with the check), and we were able to have a nice lunch and then spend some more time in a different booth working on our laptops. The restaurant also has decent Wifi, which is great. Since we got the lunch special, I believe the prices were fair for the amount of food we got, but some of the menu entrees did look a little pricey. When we were there before the lunch rush, it wasn’t very busy. Overall, a decent place to eat at, and I would go there again.

Amazing food, best service, nice clean atmosphere, and open on holidays! What could be better? In my opinion, not much else! I came here with a friend over the holidays this year after seeing that they were one of the only places open. We figured the staff would be grumpy, but instead they were friendly, and we found the food to be uniquely delicious! See the photos for some eye candy that you will not be disappointed with in person. I don’t think I’ve ever raved this much to friends about a Vietnamese restaurant — and it’s one of my favorite kinds of food! I had the shrimp vermicelli bowl, while I shared the fried tofu appetizer and spring rolls with my friend, who had the combination(shrimp, egg rolls, beef) vermicelli bowl. As you can see in the photos, this place does not skimp. My bowl had 9 skewered shrimp, and my friend’s bowl had barely any noodles showing through! The spring rolls were good — with peanut sauce not too spicy or overpowering. The tofu appetizer really took the cake, though. Most unique app I’ve had in a long time. I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in the area!

Finally! A decent Viet place where I spend the majority of my day. I live in Little Saigon so I’m a bit spoiled when it comes to this kind of food, so I’m really happy that now I have a place to go when I’m craving good Vietnamese cuisine and don’t have time to run all the way back up to my neck of the woods. I ordered phở tai(with filet mignon) and it was awesome! My usual favorite place for this is Phở 79 and I have to say I like this one better. The broth was rich and beefy, beautifully clear and not oily at all. There was. TON of meltingly tender filet mignon in there too. The herbs were nice and fresh too! There wasn’t a huge amount of basil but I’m sure if I asked for more it would have been brought out with a smile. I did miss the sawtooth herb but it wasn’t a deal breaker. The noodles were a tiny bit softer than I’m used to but still very, very good. What I especially liked about this place was how clean, comfortable and pretty it is and the service is AMAZING. It was actually kind of weird to eat great phở in a pretty place with attentive and smiling service. The sad thing was that it was lunch time and I had the place to myself. Come on, people! Get in there and enjoy yourself! In the meantime, I will do my best to keep them in business.

Came here on Saturday for lunch. I thought that based on the reviews this would actually be a great Vietnamese restaurant, but I was sorely disappointed. The only good thing about this restaurant is the fact that it’s super clean and the décor is quite classy. Food was subpar, and portions were small(I think my picture of the filet mignon speaks for itself). Considering that it’s not directly in Little Saigon, all of this is reasonable, but at the same time, I’d rather deal with the bad drivers in Bolsa to get amazing food than come back here again. Even the much praised filet mignon was disappointing. The fish spring rolls were decent. The fried rice was bland… My cousin had the chocolate lava cake, but it was standard. Nothing about the food here is special, if I have to be frank. Also, service was horribly slow. In the time it took them to serve three appetizers, the average Chinese or Vietnamese restaurant would have already served the entrees. I also asked the waiter to refill my tea, but he never did. In fact, I saw him refill another table’s tea after I asked him to refill mine. If you’re a Vietnamese person or at least very familiar with Vietnamese food, don’t come here — stick to the classics in Westminster. I’d only come here if you have lower standards for Vietnamese food than I do or live nearby and can’t be bothered to drive to Bolsa.

A tad over priced based on the portions and considering your a stones throw away from Little Saigon. The place is neatly decorated and food presentation is considered compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. I ordered vermicelli with beef, egg rolls, and grilled shrimp. While the beef was slightly over seasoned the vermicelli was perfectly cooked. The noodles came in a slanted bowl. Pretty for presentation, but this dish is meant to be mixed up when fish sauce is added so it was a little hard to eat. Another gripe is the mint that came with my noodles was still on the stem. Typically the mint is removed already and the noodles just need to have the sauce added and mixed.

This place is more of a $ restaurant than a $$, very few items are $$. We frequent Westminster for good Vietnamese food, however, with a new move to Huntington Beach we needed to find something closer. Hong Hai did not disappoint. I tried the filet phở and it was delicious. They added a sea salt foam to my iced coffee, the best vietnamese iced coffee I have ever had, hands down.

Fresh, tasty, crisp, well-made ! The décor is simple, contemporary but sharp for this strip mall restaurant. I got there early and it filled up steadily. I’d back come if I’d lived here !

Convenient, clean, great service, BUT definitely they use MSG. The husband had the rice and salmon and I had the phở. It was decent, but as soon as we left the restaurant this headache… ummm it’s the MSG. Won’t be Having the phở again, maybe we’ll come by again due to convenience and the closest viet restaurant from our house. But I’ll keep it to rice dishes next time.

Fresh Corn Sautéed with Garlic Butter(Bp xào B Ti) is delicious! The whole corn kernels are sweet and pop with a tapioca-like texture on the inside. The garlic butter is perfect and adds an umami flavor to the dish. The crispy fried garlic slices contrast with the refreshing and zingy green onions. Rating: 5⁄5 Salt and Pepper Calamari is simple but oh so delicious. The batter on the outside is light, crispy, and simply seasoned with salt and pepper. The calamari itself is sweet and a little chewy. The sautéed onions, green onions, and garlic add depth to the dish. You’ll be surprised how fast this dish will disappear when sharing. You might have to order one just for yourself! Rating: 5⁄5 Fresh Baby Clams(Nghêu) bathed in Hong Hai Spicy Broth(Hp kiu Hng Hi) is beautifully presented in a hot pot with flame. The broth is fragrant from the ginger and lemongrass. The flavor is refreshing, slightly spicy, and a tad briny from the clam juice. The clams are perfectly cooked with a tender texture and sweet clam flavor. The broth is not to be wasted so order up some noodles to make a soup with it. This would be excellent on a cold, rainy day. Rating: 5⁄5 Oxtail Noodle Soup(Ph Đuôi Bò) is another soup for a cold, rainy day. The oxtail is served on the bone. The oxtail is tender, fatty, and gelatinous making the soup rich in beefy flavor. The broth has a vegetable and herbaceous base making the oxtail flavor more pronounced. The addition of onion, cilantro, green onions, bean sprouts, and Thai basil make this soup into a meal. Gently agitate the rice noodles on the bottom so they open up in the broth and let the slurping begin! Add the smoked chili paste in for an added sweet, smoky, and slightly spicy flavor. Rating: 5⁄5 Fried Rice with Shrimp, Crab, and Calamari(Cm Chiên Hi Sn) is fragrant with the fruits of the sea. The crab meat cooks into the rice and caramelizes for a salty sweet crab flavor. The shrimp are perfectly cooked with a snap. The calamari provides a chewy texture to the rice. If you have any of the garlic butter corn left, mix it into the rice for an additional level of flavor. The corn provides an added sweetness that is unbelievable! Rating: 5⁄5 Chocolate Lava Cake topped with fresh blueberries, raspberries, powdered sugar, and served with berry sauce. This is the perfect ending to a perfect meal. The chocolate lava cake is not overly sweet with a brownie-like outer texture and a molten lava chocolate center that flows out when the first bite is taken. The rich chocolate flavor will amuse the senses and works really well with the fresh berries with their naturally sweet/sour flavor. If you need more sweetness, drizzle the berry sauce on top. The presentation is beautiful! Rating: 5⁄5

The restaurant is very clean, modern design interior and fancy placemat instead of a piece paper with Vietnamese cpa or auto repair advertisement Service: Juan(or Wong??) is great!!! I ordered a coffee but wanted to change it to thAi tea, he smiled and made it happen! Very nice and friendly Food: ordered the tofu with thousand year old egg, phở and house vermicelli, everything was great! The tofu dish was bit pricey($ 9.95) but very flavorful and yummy Phở’s broth was very rich but he temperature could be hotter, rare steak was very tender and fresh House vermicelli was good also but I strongly suggest them changing the bowl. This is my new fav phở spot, I’ll definitely be a regular here! Thank you Juan(or Wong??)

Came here a few weeks back for dinner based on Unilocal reviews. Love how they try to give it a fancy look, clean atmosphere, and great employees. Service is amazing by very nice, knowledgeable employees, and they are on point checking up. Food was very good and the price tag is very reasonable. Highly recommended to try out this place.

Big Bowl of Oxtail Phở and Chocolate Lava Cake! Gotta love this new place that is serving up some tasty dishes and very rich dessert! ~Oxtail Phở-4 Stars! Big meaty oxtail surrounded by tasty broth and noodles is served piping hot by very nice hosts. The portion of oxtail is a bit small but packs a grip load of taste. I would ask for extra oxtail on my next visit. ~Chocolate Lava Cake-4 Stars! Rich deep chocolate comes out steaming hot. Berries and Sauce are a gracious compliment to this rich dessert. While I had mine with water, a nice ice cold café sua da would be an excellent choice with this hot dessert. Folks, the portion is pretty large. I would suggest asking for two spoons if you don’t want to look like a piggy. On the other hand, it is so good I could finish one in a few bites! ~Service-5 Stars! Very Attentive! The restaurant is clean and open with a pretty good vibe. I saw some familiar faces from Brodard working here. ~Parking-Super Easy. Hong Hai Dining, Fountain Valley. another reason the OC is the best place to live!

My friend I went to the soft opening at this place. I loved the modern décor of the place it brings a new twist to the city of Fountain Valley. Hopefully this new restaurant will make the plaza the place to be in the near future. I thought the staff was nice, when we entered we were greeted by our waiter. Henry was nice and sweet, we all enjoyed his service. The owner went outside and greeted us and told us about the speciality of the house. We got the appetizer with the buttered corn, it was okay for me because I am not a big fan of food with a lot of pepper taste. I got the rice with pork and egg. The pork I was a big fan it had a hit of grass lemon and the egg was meh. My friends and I thought maybe it was over steamed? The best part was the chocolate lava, i loved how we cut into the dessert and the chocolate just oozed down.
