Ordered the veggie with avocado and cheese croissant togo and it was the worst sandwich ever. Would not recommend it even to my worst enemy. The croissant was hard, the veggie was old and dry and they gave two sad pieces of avocado only. The boyfriend ordered the bun thit nuong and that was alright, mediocre at best.

No concept of service at this place. You’ll wait and wait, then be disappointed with the food that arrives

3.5 stars overall 5 stars for the iced raspberry tea and location seems clean and modern, not overly crowded which is good. 3 stars for the ca ri(curry) since there were more bone than meat on the chicken. Their bread is good though. 3.5 stars for the Bun Bo hue. I think Lien Hue in garden grove or Mien Trung in Kearny Mesa is much better. 3 stars for the melon and honeydew drink. They ran out of watermelon but still charged it as if all three fruits were available :(

I was an avid customer until today! Poor customer service! I will be the first to admit that I made a mistake and made a phone order to the wrong location. However, to refuse service to a customer because they made the wrong order at the wrong location is completely wrong! Tip top sandwich needs to VARIFY with their customer the location when taking orders!!! I will be telling all the teachers at my school about the poor service and treatment by those at this location! Tiptop sandwich, you need to properly train your employees when situations like this come up! This was a human made mistake, but to refuse service is uncalled for! I’ll will make sure all my social media friends know NOT to go to any of your locations!

40% off selected items. Baguettes sale daily, buy 1 get 1 free! They lost a lot of customers when they moved from 1 block North to this location, it was a bad move like they said in real estates, location, location, location. This restaurant has a lot more real estate, huge kitchen and ample parking. Their sandwiches are unique because they alone still have the roast pork with the skin nicely red and tender, everybody else replaced this flavorful ingredient with the bland ham. They also add finely cut scallion, cilantro and with the fresh peppers(jalapenos) made the sandwiches very tasty. I usually order the #1. My only complain is that they keep the price at $ 3.60 and cut the amount of pâté and meat, hello, Tip Top, MAKEIT $ 4 or $ 4.50 and put more meat, I would pay more for the way it was when you 1st opened the restaurant! Wonton soup was a huge bowl with noodle, roast pork and bean sprout, it was good. We have 2 more cruises this year and sometimes I like to save some money, I bought the day old muffin for 50% off, great deal for breakfast, warm them up in the oven, they came out as delicious as freshly made. I used to buy their apple or pineapple coffee cake but have not found them recently, they were very tasty. This restaurant is also a bakery, they have macarons and an assortment of cakes and Vietnamese deserts. I would like to rate this restaurant 3.5 but that is not possible, I recommend this restaurant for convenience, fast service and affordability. I usually stay away from the 40% soup, they were watered down, I will be back for the bun cha, grilled pork and vermicelli.

Place is horrible in regards to strange tastes from my sandwich… ordered the bbq chicken sandwich… couple bites in tasted lik a hint of dish soap was spritzed on my inner sandwich. The bread was fresh though. Thought maybe I was tripping. Nope still soap. Saw this place get built. Waited this long to try it. Definitely not coming back. If you cant get a sandwich right there is no need to further explore the menu. I see why this place has 2.5 stars. I don’t always believe the ratings of a place. But this place has a serious quality issue. Searched online and seen some issues as well. Most places have them. My meal just didn’t sit well. I was hoping they would rival Lee’s but to no avail. Tip Top I think not.

I’ve been here a few times now, and I am satisfied enough to continue dining here occasionally. The fine in service has been slow to come take my order each time, but at least they are apologetic about it and seem friendly. I enjoyed the food and don’t have any complaints. Parking is very open and this place is easy to get to.

This places is a Vietnamese sandwich and everything Vietnamese. I found out if you order from the bakery side and not eat inside its $ 1.00 per item cheaper. The service was terrible! Slow and the girl taking our order hardly spoke english so we did a lot of pointing. They took forever to get me our food and when I got my food, it was terrible. I ordered a sandwich and the veggies were old along with the meat all dried out. My buddy got a sandwich and they overloaded with soy sauce causing it to be salty and nasty. Definitely I wont be back, didn’t like the food and service sucked!

This place tries to justify slightly higher prices because the insides of the restaurant looks good. Banh Mi Che Cali(the goliath of OC Viet sandwiches, coffee and pastries) is one block north, and really the only reason to go to Tip Top is that there’s less people and you don’t have to fight to get your order in. The coffee is okay, you can get better elsewhere, but it’s not bad. The sandwiches are fine, but they don’t bake their own bread like many, many other local Viet places so it can never be as fresh. And their soup and sandwich prices are seeming like someone is manipulating you to spend max money. Like veggie is just as much as pork or chicken and canned sardines are more expensive. Everything costs about the same, which is a little more than other places. I guess they have to pay for their nice interior design? Basically you pay extra and sacrifice quality for more parking, less crowd, lower wait time, and nicer insides.

Im not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. I love coming here, its clean and spacious… But enough about that, the food is great. Very tasty and affordable, portions are big! Thai tea on the dot!

Stopped by for a combo sandwixh, extra egg, and some stuff. Bread is crisp with a specific crunch, I haven’t had a sandwich in so long, that this brought about new memories, in the way that they balanced the soy sauce in the sandwich, something I find very hard to do with this style. They open at 5am, sooo if you need some food for the road, on your trip to the mountains, the beach, new york, treat yourself. Oh, and the egg rolls are not harsh in flavor(i like the pep though), and do not have as much oil as their crispy cohorts. A dennys behind you, a nice fountain in your left, Starbucks to the north, and oo somone golfing on your right.

I wouldn’t recommend dining here, even IF you plan to just get coffee or banh mi. I ordered ca phe sua da(Viet Iced Coffee) and Com Tam Bi Suon Nuong(Broken Rice with Pork Chops). Honestly, the coffee isn’t great — I’ve had better, even from Lollicup. As for the pork chops, the meat tasted dry and salty. The dish also comes along with a green onion soup and fish sauce. The green onion soup was served lukewarm — it should’ve been a little hotter. And the fish sauce was on the sweeter side — it should’ve tasted at least salty. Oh, and here’s an FYI, the«SPECIAL40%» as imprinted on the windows is all bs.

Server was attentive and tried his best to accommodate my coworkers and I, since his English was not very good. My coworkers were not very familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, but they ordered Phở Tai and the beef kabob. My coworker requested that the phở tai be brought out as the meat is still cooking in the phở bowl, as many phở restaurants do that(there are some that bring it to you on a separate plate and you can put the meat in the bowl of phở for it to cook with the broth too!) The phở came out with the meat well-cooked in the bowl, even after I translated into Vietnamese, requesting it. I ordered the Shakened Beef with rice, which was pretty disappointing. I kind of expected it, honestly. The beef didn’t have much flavor and it wasn’t marinated enough. I tasted more seasoning than sauces. The salad was bland and the tomatoes looked discolored. My coworkers loved their Vietnamese iced coffee though– I didn’t try it. They do they credit cards here, just not American Express. Overall, I’ll stick to going to the Vietnamese joints that I know in Little Saigon, not these modernized but still«traditional» places.

I frequent this sandwich spot since it’s on the way to work… Located in the plaza with Albertson’s. This place is awesome. Although I have never tried any of their sandwiches. I do grab a light breakfast here before work. My usual is the chicken pâté chaud. Very flavorful meat filling. Not greasy at all. My go to is the banh bao heo $ 2.25(steamed pork buns) are the BEST. Fresh baked daily. The vietnamese iced coffee is very bold. It definitely will you a caffeine kick. Glad, they accept credit cards with a purchase of greater than $ 5. Otherwise, there is a surcharge. They also have a restaurant/grill in same place where you can enjoy a sit down meal. I tried the hu tieu hai san(thin egg noodles with seafood). Not too tasty. I will most likely not dine here again. But, will still get food to go items on the sandwich side!

I just popped in for vietnamese coffee. Its very strong as it should be, but I heard this was one of the better places to order it in the area. I noticed they have a variety of furniture, sorta mix matched somewhat tastefully. I saw at least 5 different patterns, from their high top tables, to the booths and ultra modern 4 and 6 tops. The best were the funky golf club looking tables at the left when you walk in. If I ever come back I may check out some of their baked goods up at the register.

I just went here for the first time ever and I had a good experience. It looks really nice and it’s quite big too. I had bun bo Hue and fried sweet potatoes and my brother had grilled chicken with broken rice. The bun bo Hue was really good with lots of meat and the bowl was huge with a really good price(like $ 7.95). The fried sweet potatoes were ok, they weren’t sweet enough but very crispy. The flavor of the grilled chicken is super good and their sauce(nuoc mam) is bomb! Even though we had to wait for a while since they didn’t have enough people, the food was amazing! Oh and they also have this 40% discount but on selected items only too. The grilled chicken with broken rice was on this list and it was like $ 4 sth!

Honestly, the giant 40% OFF signs are what drew me in. Lots of seating, and looked pretty clean. When you walk in, there is a sandwich board that displays the daily«sale items.» This week, it was 1) grilled chicken with broken rice; 2) fish porridge; and 3) noodle soup(i forget the type). It was a warm day, so I opted for the grilled chicken and rice. The restaurant wasn’t that busy, but it took about 15 minutes for my meal to arrive. The dish came with 3 pieces of grilled boneless chicken thigh, broken rice, lettuce with pickled carrots/daikon, and a small bowl of hot chicken broth. Regular price was less than $ 8; Discounted price was $ 5.15 — not bad! Honestly, the meal was just ok. The best part was probably the soup — it was sweet, warm, and fragrant. The grilled chicken was good in some parts, and stringy and chewy in the rest. I’d come back to try the Vietnamese sandwiches. Those are not on sale, and cost about $ 5 each. Pricer than its local competitors, but I’ll come back to give it a shot.

I was craving some viet sandwiches and decided to stop into tip top. I ordered a banh mi Dac Biet to go with all the veggies. The sandwiches are decent but pricey. I do have to say their bread is better than most but I’m still a fan of banh mi Che Cali’s sandwiches. Their viet coffees are pretty strong

First thing, «40% off» really means the 3 – 5 items they have for that day. A frequent meal I often see on this is: grilled chicken and rice. The GRILLEDCHICKEN is like TERIYAKI flavor with rice, salad and soup. Pretty good for only $ 5! Id go if I’m on a BUDGET :) I recommend SUNNYSIDEEGGS with the grilled chicken! $ 1 –1SERVICE, it’s a little slow. But you gotta really raise your hand high up for them to notice you. As always, you can’t expect great service from most vietnamese places with food at a cheap price.

Not really the greatest restaurant to come to for Vietnamese food, however though, their baguette and croissant sandwiches are worth trying. I think their menu could be a hit or miss so try sticking to something you’re familiar with. I ordered the banh Kot in the past and it was okay, presentation was nice but it lacked in flavor. Their rau ma which I had with my meal(penny worth green drink) tasted old to me, so it kinda left a bad taste in my mouth and killed the whole meal. Ca kho here was caramelized very well, it was creamy from the sauce and was balanced well with the pickled cabbage. So to play it safe, I would stick to ordering the simple banh mi, sandwiches, or the basic to-go foods they have readily available. I do like it here for it’s convenience. They open really late, but the restaurant food overall is just so-so!
