Good quesadillas although the wait time for food was perhaps the longest I have seen for some time. the seating and décor is quaint and overall this is a nice place to go and eat in this street.

I love Mr. Taco and am surprised there aren’t better reviews. There tacos are really great, horchata is delish, and I’m a big fan of their nachos. The service is really great too. I’m sad they don’t have dollar taco’s anymore during the week but this is a great place for some tasty mexican if you’re looking for a low key, casual place to go! :)

Ordered via GrubHub. Seamless from start to finish! Delivery was on time, and the food was super delicious. Order the Taco Salad and two chorizo tacos(mexican sausage). Will definitely order again. And they have daily specials!!!

I reviewed them before, I had to drop two stars. This used to be my default taco place — but various management issues and quality of the food has pushed me away. I order«chips and salsa» I expect to get a nice side of salsa in a large container. The new person behind the counter doesn’t seem to comprehend that. This was the final straw. I am buying my tacos elsewhere. Food is unbelievably dry, I don’t know what they are thinking. Pretty sure they are going to be out of business soon. Go elsewhere — you’ve been warned.

Food not that good. Did an online order which they«didn’t get» so I was waiting for nothing. When food came in it wasn’t good at all. Go down the street to burrito amigo

I am surprised that this place isn’t rated higher! I had been trying to find a decent taco place in the area, and this place was not bad at all. The tacos were authentic tasting, and not overpriced. I didn’t eat inside so I cannot comment on the interior, I had picked the food instead. I had the steak tacos and I did not have anything to complain about. They were not the most amazing delicious tacos I have ever had but definitely nothing for me to say negatively about the place or the food.

I used to really like the burritos here. It has gone down hill. To add to the problems, they wanted to charge me two dollars more than the price on their web site. Yikes!

This place used to be good when we first moved to the area a year ago. But lately there’s been a steep drop off in quality. The burrito’s aren’t as big or taste as good as they used to. I’ll be looking for a better place to get my burrito fix.

I give them 1 star because I really like their agua de jamaica(herbal ice tea). The food is a little under the quality of the other taquerias in the area. The reason I will never go back is for their customer service. I went to order some tacos at 9:45 at night. They close at 10 which is listed on their hours outside on the door. This was our conversation. Me: Can I order 2 tacos de asada and 1 of pastor? Girl behind counter: We already put the food away. Me: Oh! What time do you close? Girl: 10pm Me: So can I order tacos? Girl: No, we already put the food away. Me: But your still open? Girl: Yes. Me: Why did you put the food away if your still open for 15 minutes? Girl: Because we’re going to close soon. I walked out at this point. What a horrible way to run a business! No wonder this place is always dead. They don’t want to serve customers. So I went to another taqueria in Franklin Park and they stayed open passed their hours to accommodate me. This location always goes out of business so I’m surprised they’re actually still there. Won’t be long though…

I haven’t written a review in awhile but this place sucked. We oedered delivery and not only was it ridiculously over priced but the tacos were dry, tortillas/meat hard, and the burrito was small and gross. The only thing they get credit for is they have a good orchata. Never going again.

What is going on here? I have been to this restaurant before and it has gone downhill so rapidly. I wanted to go here because in the past, the nachos were pretty good. What I received was nothing like what I had before. I liked going here for the Jamaica. We ordered a Jamaica and an Horchata. When we got to the machine, the Horchata was empty and the Jamaica was just foam. It was pretty disgusting. I went by the salsa bar, and the containers looked dirty and had very little in them. All of the tables looked dirty and the vinyl chairs looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. When we got our food, it was very bland and we just wanted to get out of there because the air wasn’t working. The whole thing was really disappointing.

I ate there a couple of weeks ago and it was really good. They must have changed the chef because I went there again for a burrito and it was terrible. First of all my burrito fell apart, so did the other burritos we ordered. We paid extra for avocado and there was barely any in it. The meat was overlooked and the cheese were slices of munster cheese. A burrito is suppose to have shredded cheese not whole slices of Munster cheese. Very disappointing. Next time I will stick to the other Mexican restaurants in town.

After reading the positive reviews of Mr. Taco, I can’t tell you how disappointed I was at this eatery. My food was terrible, borderlining on Horseshit. The meat was either a low quality cut, or overcooked. It was actually charred on the outside and rubbery on the inside. The worst part about the Burrito was that whoever wrapped it, had no idea what they were doing. When I opened up the foil the whole thing just fell apart. I have been a fan of Mexican food since I was a kid and I have never had that happen to me. It’s a shame that my experience was so bad. It would have been wonderful to have a good Mexican place so close to where I work. I’m usually a forgiving sort of guy who is willing to give a restaurant a second chance, but considering how bad my first Burrito was, I won’t be going back.

Another new Mexican restaurant sighting in Franklin Park. Caucasians must be freaking out. «Gasp! Another one?! Why are they allowing this? We’re being driven out of our own neighbor… Ooo that carnayy asawda smells dee-lish!» Relax white people. The odds are against this place. When it comes to this particular location, it seems no matter what business opens up, it goes down the crapper almost immediately. Once upon a time it was a Dunkin Donuts(now located across the street), then a «Donut King», then some type of beef place, then a Guatemalan/American diner(I kid you not). Alas, they all ran a short course, and now it’s Mr. Taco’s turn to take a crack at the seemingly impossible feat of having a successful business here. The sign out front reads«Authentic Mexican food ‘No Bull». Oh really, Mr. Taco? A little cocky aren’t you? Who the hell are you? At your other location in Romeoville, you may be authentic. But I don’t mess around. To make such a bold claim like that, you better come through, or I will kick your ass! So whats the verdict? …Okay this place is actually pretty good. I ordered a «Mr. Burrito» and a large horchata. Right off the bat, I fell in love with the fact that they give you a giant cup and you can choose from a variety of aguas frescas, and you pour it yourself. And free refills! They also have a little bar where you can pick your own salsas, pickled carrots and lime. My burrito came out to me a few minutes later, and I noticed right away how nicely wrapped it was. It was already cut in half which is good because I’m lazy. The ingredients inside were well intact, and wasn’t spilling everywhere like the typical poorly wrapped burrito. On top of that, it tasted good as hell. To get an even better taste for this place, I ordered three tacos al pastor to go. Not bad, but when it comes to al pastor, Burrito Amigo down the street is still number one in my world. Aside from these things, the rest of the menu is pretty impressive. They do tacos, tortas, flautas, tostadas, burritos, somebreros(basically a giant round quesadilla with toppings piled in the middle), nachos, gorditas, sopes, huaraches, chile rellenos(there ya go, vegetarians), eggs Mexican breakfast style, and menudo on weekends. This place also delivers! They also accept credit/debit. Major plus points. As always, I was a little skeptical. But Mr. Taco turns out to be an impressive little place. Hopefully it doesn’t go on the list of business closings in this location.

My husband and I always enjoy the food we get from Mr. Taco. We have eaten in, carried out, and had food delivered — no matter how we get it, it’s always delicious. We eat here about twice a month and we have NEVER been disappointed.
