Red Mango

My kids love red mango so much that it has become part of our reward system so, I can’t really give them any less than 5 stars. Frozen yogurt options are limited to chocolate, vanilla, Nutella, peanut butter, and a few other options so if you like tons of options then you may be a little disappointed. However, for toppings they do have plenty of options from fruit to nuts to chocolate. It is not allergy friendly, unfortunately, but if that doesn’t affect you then it’s a pretty nice and clean place for froyo.

My crave for and endless toppings bar and combination fro-​yo swirls was lost after my first spoon full at red mango :(
I chose the milk chocolate and peanut butter yogurt. Both tasted like flavored medicine and extra tartness. The only way to cover up the taste was to saturate my cup with crushed Oreo cookies.
On the brighter side of the frozen-​yogurt craze, Red Mango had such yummy toppings from cereal to chocolates, fruits, cake bites, and sprinkles. The staff was really friendly and regardless of my taste, there seemed to be a decent amount of people.
From what I see, Red Mango is expanding their menu to soups and other foods outside the dairy products. Not sure if I would eat soup at a frozen-​yogurt store.

A classic froyo chain, there really isn’t much to say regarding this location.
They’ve got a handful of flavors, a fair amount of toppings, and you pay by the oz.
The cashier is nice and always greets me and offers me a coupon for my next visit.

The staff at Red Mango is welcoming and never has a problem when you ask to try samples. I really enjoy coming here, they even have iPads for the kids play on while enjoying their yogurt! It’s cute place and very clean. Love the yogurt and variety of different flavors a great addition to Franklin Square.

Great service! The people here are so nice plus the place was clean and I don’t know why, but for some reason the total for my frozen yogurt came out to be muuuuuuch less than what it usually would be. Would definitely come here again.

This was my first time at Red Mango, we tried another frozen places but this is my favorite place so far. The girl at the counter was welcoming and didn’t have a problem letting my daughter try everything lol I felt bad because at the end of her sampling she was full and didn’t want anything lol but we bought some to go! I would recommend this location!

Service is okay and Smoothies are very good. I don’t frequent red mango due to the prices but I will go back to this one from time to time.

Always clean, the machines always work, great friendly staff and the fruit is always fresh!

The place was clean, they had good choices of toppings and a nice variety of flavors – all of which you can sample before buying. The staff was friendly and helpful. Score!

Clean, good service, self serve with numerous options. Great smoothies. The product itself is always delicious and always worth the trip. This location so far is a keeper!

Now, I’ve been to this Red mango many times before when it first opened before they even had its grand opening event and the staff was friendly and helpful. Still slightly poor customer service but interactive enough for a self serve yogurt place. I visit this red mango at least once a week and service has gotten increasingly worse. The topping bar was disgusting, fruit in HUGE pieces, and the staff horrible. All were frantic and looked overwhelmed and the girl that rung my yogurt up rushed me away from the topping bar asking if I was ready yet and staring at me since the store was crowded. I asked for an Ice bag since I wasn’t going directly home. My ice bag consisted of about 6 pieces of ice. Needless to say I’m very upset.

This was, surprisingly, my first time in a Red Mango. I’m usually not a fan of self-​serve yogurt places. But, although this location is a little cramped, it was a clean and well-​organized. The area for actually getting the yogurt is a bit too narrow. When I was there, a group of high school girls was taking up the front of the store and another wave was about to enter, so I had to be quick. I am not sure if this was because they had just opened, but there was a staff member standing near the yogurt service area helping people out and giving some advice. This is a good idea. It also stops people from getting overly personal with the yogurt machines (ahem), over-​sampling, and making a mess of the area.
I usually go for chocolate, but they didn’t have any on this visit, so I got half nutella and half cake batter instead. Both flavors tasted really nice. While I was there, I sampled blackberry, strawberry and peach, but I am not as big a fan of the fruit flavors. Although I love frozen yogurt as a healthier alternative to ice cream, I don’t like the taste/​after taste of a lot of regular fruit yogurt. That’s just personal taste, of course, but the fruit flavors are definitely more yogurt-​y in taste and texture than ice cream-​y. So I can see myself going back again for the richer options like Nutella, cake batter, caramel, pie, etc and avoiding the fruit flavors. Also, the yogurt is definitely probiotic. I know it’s «healthy», but be aware if you can’t handle probiotics.
As for toppings, I didn’t add any because I don’t like the way the topping area is self-​service and completely open. I just don’t like messy areas like that; stuff getting mixed up, people just grabbing toppings, getting yogurt on the spoon, putting it back, tasting stuff, changing their minds, etc.
That said, the staff were friendly and helpful, the prices were average and the yogurt was nice. A solid 3.5 stars, but I’m rounding up for this new local hangout that’s making something out of a dull shopping center.
