I got the double steak burger platter. The bun on the burger was soggy. Hard to tell it had been toasted. A pretty meh dinner. I’ve been to far better steak and shake locations.

Hello, it’s me again, your friendly neighborhood Unilocal reviewer whose temper is very short when it comes to shitty food. And yes, with little effort, I found another restaurant that’ll make you wanna drag your balls through glass, and it’s called Steak n’ Shake. More like Slow as Fuck n’ Inbred. I love the food, but I would venture to guess that I could place my order in the motherfucking Stone Age and still would not have my food brought to me by now, thanks to the dumbasses here at your local Steak n’ Shake. Might as well take«Shake» out of your fucking name, because even the utterance of the word«shake» in your order seems to be sacrilegious here. THEREISLITERALLY1FUCKINGPERSONWORKINGHEREAS I SPEAK, THERE’S YOURFUCKINGREVIEWSUMMARYSTEAK N SHAKEIT’S 1STAR. 1FUCKINGWORKER=1FUCKINGSTAR UPDATE: Perhaps I was too rash in my last review. Tonight I came at 1:00 am during a Level III State of Emergency for a Winter Storm coming through Middle Tennessee. Food is still great, so next time when there’s a record blizzard and 40 mph winds expected, I’ll make sure to hit up steak and shake at an absurdly late time of night, cause that’s when you’ll get the best service. Call to complain!!!: 1−877−785−6745 I’ve called the headquarters customer service complaint hotline 3 times for this store. Make sure to ask that your issue be escalated beyond just the store level to get your voice heard: 1−877−785−6745 This is by far the worst Steak ‘n Shake in the USA and the problem resides within management and trends downward.

The burgers and fries are good. The waitresses were very friendly. However the shake I ordered sucked. I asked the waitress if this place has the chocolate malt milk shake. Her reply was«We can malt anything» I said«ok» I’ll try one. I know my malted milk shakes. When I took the first spoonful, I noticed instantly that there wasn’t even a «hint» of the malt flavor, even the chocolate flavor itself was very weak. I didn’t want to complain. My wife and I shared it. I’ll never order a shake from there again.

Instead of going through the drive through, we decided to go inside for a quick sit down. Since we already knew what we wanted, as soon as the waitress came we ordered. After sitting over 20 minutes, with frustration we noticed others that came in after us already had their food. Having to be somewhere within 10 minutes, we asked for our dinner as a «To Go». Not to our surprise, when we pulled the burgers out of the bag, the order was incorrect. If we come back, I guess we’ll go to the drive through.

Just too slow — terrible service, understaffed. Tried this location 3x and awful service never fails. Good luck.

The only good thing about waiting 20 for one single milk shake is that they gave me enough time to down load the Unilocal app to write this review. Three cars in line and 20 minutes to get one milk shake. We give them the benefit of the doubt thinking they were short staffed but nope– every time we come. This will be my last visit!

Their windows were filthy. When I mentioned it to the lady at the window, she shrugged her shoulders like she didn’t care, saying, «I know.» Then she shut the window. Looking past her at the grill, I saw more dirt… it was filthy. I was afraid to eat their food. But it was late, I was hungry, so I did anyway… and it was terrible. I got sick. I will never go there again.

The food is fine for what it is– but the service here takes the word horrible to a whole new level. Even if they get your order right it’s likely going to take half an hour to get it. Even in the drive through. I realize they«cook to order» but this is not gourmet cuisine folks. Management needs to step up and get a grip on things here for sure.

I have no idea why we keep coming here, as it is one of the worst Steak ‘n’ Shake franchises I’ve ever visited. While the food is *usually* only slightly below Steak ‘n’ Shake standards, the service is consistently terrible. I guess we keep going back because we like Steak ‘n’ Shake’s concept and food in general, and we keep hoping that a new manager will have shown up and fixed the service issues. So far, that hasn’t happened yet(though it does seem that each visit has a different person in the«blue shirt», which I assume is the manager). On this latest visit, we just got up and left a near empty restaurant without anyone even coming to take our drink orders, let alone our meal orders. I understand that the restaurant business isn’t easy, so this wouldn’t be a problem if the place were busy, or understaffed. However, with at least 3 team members standing idly around the drink area, talking and laughing the entire time, it’s rather annoying to not even get a visit from a server … Especially in light of the consistently poor service during previous visits. We are apparently gluttons for punishment, though, so I’m sure we will be back at some point in the future. When we do, maybe I’ll just start chronicling the experiences in Unilocal to see how they vary over time. /sigh

Come on folks let’s call it what it is. We are hooked on the food and shakes. We keep putting up with the chronic poor service. Doesn’t matter what location.

A month ago, my wife and I met here for my lunch hour, which, because of the ineptitude and ignorance of the management and staff at this restaurant, turned into my lunch two-hour. I was upset about the wait, but the food was good and, at the time, I chalked up my experience to a busy day combined with being short-staffed. Boy, was I wrong. Today, once again, my lunch hour doubled. After 40 minutes, the manager came over to take our order. The real problem was that a member of the wait staff had already taken our order! The manager then said, «I’ll have her put in your order right now.» Uh, no. We’re leaving, and we will most certainly not be back. The only remnant of an apology issued was something along the lines of, «We’re short staffed.» Listen… I can understand being short staffed, but when you are, you need to take preventative measures such as warning your customers about the wait, and MAKINGSUREYOUPUTTHEIRORDERSINTOTHESYSTEMASFASTASPOSSIBLE.

We were one of five tables in the dining room. Service was ok and the food didn’t take too much longer than we thought it should have. Fries were cold. There was no one at the register when I went to pay. I’m not sure how long I waited but when no one came I sat back down. I went back up when I saw someone else paying a few minutes later. It took a while as they were splitting the check a few ways. When they were done the cashier told me I had to wait because he had to get back to the kitchen. This was the first time I had to beg a business to take my money for services rendered. Anyway, he let me pay but left the couple behind me wait. It looked like the only person qualified to run the register is also the only one qualified to put mustard on the burgers. Either that or the place was full of oblivious, untrained employees who had no manager there to tell them what to do OR help pick up the slack. Between you and me, I think it’s the second one.
