It wasn’t as friendly as I removed the original place to be in VA, it was ok… not someplace I would go of the way for.

This location was filthy. I saw a girl sweep the floor, but it looked like she was just moving dirt from one place to another. They need better management.

These Donuts are SOOO Delish! my coworker brought them in for us. I’m usually not a fan of fancy looking donuts but i though why NOT just try. I had the glaze donut with oreo cookie crumbs. MAAAAN i tell you this donut was everything you could want in a donut plus more. they were warm, soft, and oh so good. As soon as he put the box down in the breakroom I went to grab another. I tried the glazed donut with mini chocolate chips. This one was the icing on the cake. Chocolate chips were very milky smooth chocolate, the donut was soft and moist. I’ve never had such fresh, delicious, mouth watering donuts such as these. PLEASE TRY THEM! Let’s make this company go VIRAL. These donuts would make the world a better place.

Delicious donuts! They are made to order and served hot out of the fryer so there’s just no competition from any other donut shop in the area. I think they’re $ 2.50 each, so more expensive than Dunkin or the grocery stores but nowhere near as high as Glory.
I like all of the flavors I’ve tried but some of my favorites are the banana nut bread, oc sand, and chocolate chip peanut butter. It’s hard to not get a half dozen and eat then all in the car instead of taking them home to share!
The location is a little out of the way in a dumpy strip mall but really it’s only a couple of minutes from downtown. Definitely stop there if you’re heading to/​from the MVA and therefore are in a bad mood!

Probably the best donuts I’ve ever had. However, I think they have an advantage as their donuts are made to order and served piping hot. I tried the french toast donut and the dulce de leche donut; both tasted pretty similar, but both were excellent nonetheless. These donuts absolutely melt in your mouth. My friend said they were a bit too sweet, but I shall hear none of that!
They also do donuts to go, but given that they’re made to order, I figure I probably wouldn’t want to get them to go because that kind of defeats the purpose of buying them over store brand donuts.
The atmosphere of the place leaves much to be desired, which sucks as I just explained that it would be advisable to eat the donuts in-​store. I don’t know if this place could pull in a regular crowd given its location anyway, but I personally would probably hang out here if it felt more welcoming. Honestly, this place looks like it’s under construction when you walk in, when it’s not.
But I’m going to give this place the benefit of the doubt and just judge it on the donuts, so I’m going to give this place a 5. Seriously awesome donuts for a really cheap price, served hot. Doesn’t really get much better than that!

This place has amazing donuts for a very moderate if not cheap price. They seemed to be under construction but I wouldn’t say it was filthy like some of the others. If you like donuts you’ll love the options here and if you dont like donuts chances are you’ll find something here.

Love the doughnuts… but don’t really care too much for the owner. Went there few days ago, and I don’t know what time they close… I was guessing 4? And it was 3 so When I pulled up I saw the open sign was still ON and I go to open the door and its UNLOCKED, well I’m quickly «greeted» by this man that rudely says «hey…where closed!!!» In shock I raise my eyebrows and turn around like okay whatever. Well maby next time if your CLOSED you should turn OFF your sign and LOCK your door! I wanted to get a box of 20 to take to a family birthday party but never mind. I’ve only been to the FP once before and it was in OC. I guess I’ll just Waite till next year and go back to that location on the boardwalk, or I’ll just b that asshole that’s in the parking lot standing at the door waiting for them to open at 5 or whenever it is they open… haven’t made up my mind yet.

Their good… BUT I’ve been here 6 times in 3 yrs… they were only open ONCE! I feel that they come and go as they please.

We LOVE fractured prune! They have delicious sugary treats, great customer service, and are very inexpensive. The donuts are always warm and made to order. You might die if you eat this more than once a month, but it is totally worth the calories!

I’m not a big fan of donuts, but fractured prune has good ones for sure. I originally found FP in Ocean City a few years ago. I was pleased to find out that there’s one in Frederick too.
The donuts are just as good at this location, but the «feel» is definitely not there. It’s situated on the end unit of a smaller shopping mall, and the lease space itself feels kind of dirty (I would at least like to point out that it seems FP does clean and keep things sanitary, but the actual space needs a facelift), and not well layed out at all. The space is pretty awkward which isn’t a big deal when you’re just picking up some donuts but it’s a little uncomfortable if it’s crowded and you’re trying to stand and wait for your order, but there’s nowhere good to do so.
No complaints on the donuts, but either a different location more suited to what they’re doing, or a revamp of the current would certainly help things in my book!

The floors are dirty, the toppings are not covered, just sitting in the open. Again, great taste, just go to a cleaner location.

I’ve been a big fan of the Fractured Prune since spending a summer in Ocean City. There are few things better than freshly made donuts, and there are even fewer places that make them to order. So I was thrilled to find one here in Frederick. Until I walked in. The place is filthy. A true donut dive. This is a real shame because the store is so small that a thorough cleaning wouldn’t take much time or effort. So I find it disturbing that no one who works there seems to care about cleanliness. If no one can be bothered to even sweep the floor and wipe down the dirty tables, how much effort is put into cleaning the kitchen equipment? Or washing their hands? Or practicing safe food preparation? Where’s the pride in ownership?
The risk a successful company takes in selling franchise rights is the potential loss of control. They can no longer guarantee the quality of their product or service, and there’s a chance that the company’s reputation in a new market will suffer. The franchise owners have a duty to carry on the tradition of excellence that made the company successful in the first place. It’s a mystery to me why no one has stepped in and demanded higher standards from the owners of the Frederick location. Fractured Prune donuts are fantastic, but there’s no way I’d ever set foot into this grungy place again.

Donuts are good but the place is disgusting. If you don’t mind eating in complete filth then this is the place for you. I’m not sure why the health department hasn’t stepped in. They obviously don’t clean much and if you think your safe because they are fried think again because the stuff they dip them in afterwards is exposed to the nastiness.

Extremely disappointed. I’ve been an OC native and have frequented fractured prune at several of their Ocean City locations and have been thrilled with my purchases, nice, round, big fluffy donuts! But at the Frederick location, I found in my fractured prune box limp, small, unappetizing to the eye, donuts. While the taste was kind of there — the presentation was just appalling. Taste was OKAY. But just wasn’t comparable to the Ocean City locations. Service was OKAY too. I wish also, the store itself was in better shape. It felt, for lack of a better term a run down shop. Fractured Prune is a great store and great idea, this store just didn’t stand out. This store has such potential and could give good taste of the shore! I want it to stick around and I like my fresh guilty pleasure being in my now residenc.

Going to have to preface this review that I am not huge into sweets but these donuts hit the spot. The donuts were fresh, light and mouth-​watering. Cooked to order with plenty of toppings to pick from. Prices are definitely reasonable for what you are getting. The reason for the 3 stars and not the 4^th was the same complaint that some other reviewers had mentioned. I’m all about the greasy spoons on the corner with some good food but there really isn’t much to this operation. We were one of the first few customers in the door and the place looked like it hadn’t been cleaned from the night before. The least you can do is take a broom out. With that being said I hope maybe it was just this location because I would like try them out again, maybe down in Ocean City. So forget about Double Ds and try some real donuts out.

Really love a hot, fresh donut. This place has a great, dense donut and you can top it with whatever you want. My daughter and I went in on Sunday and bought a dozen, and did a little taste test– they were all good.
If you don’t like super sweet donuts, just choose your own topping and tell them to go easy on the glaze. They pretty much will do whatever you want.
I do have one (semi-​picky) thing that will make me pause before visiting again. This particular location was not very clean. The trash cans were so filthy I didn’t want to touch the tops, the floor was dirty, the walls were dirty… it definitely looks the worse for the wear.
