Always drive by this place and finally decided to have dinner here. The ambiance was super nice as it was not too loud nor too crowded like other places. The waiter was super attentive and nice, I wish I remember what he name was; most importantly the Food was fresh and delicious. Nothing to complain about this place.

Very tasty! Another Unilocal roulette hit! The bucket has Dungeness crab, clams and shrimp with the head. Their garlic noodles has great flavor.

The server we had was the sweetest and the best. But I need to deduct two stars because we could have been seriously sick! We got the number 2 combo with the crab. When I opened one of the legs it smelled of acetone! And I had everyone else at the table try the crab and they could taste/smell it to. They voided the crab for us and had it taken back and gave us an option to get something else. So we decided to get more crawfish. But I just googled and Bad Crab can smell like Ammonia! So the crab was either dead before they cooked it or the crab was handled poorly somehow and reheated. Everything else we got was delicious. The crawfish was huge and super fresh. And by huge I mean literally baby lobsters. I love the sauce as well(luxabu medium? I think) and their garlic fries are pretty damn good.

always wanted to try this place by my friends said they think it was just ok but I wanted to try anyways. We went on a weeknight, around 7, not many people, we got the bucket, $ 35 I think, flavor was not bad, price is very good consider the amount of food you’re getting, customer service was excellent, we would repeat.

Their food was good and flavorful. Their macaroon ice creams were good too(pre made in the ice cream chest when you enter). We got the #2 with crab, shrimp, clams, sausage, corn, edamame for 49.99. We added another order of 1lb of shrimp and special order: sweet potato Cajun garlic fries, 2 garlic noodles, and hot wings. We split it between 4 ppl with tip was about $ 120. We were all beyond full.(We tried Cajun something level hot and Luxabe which is everything level medium. Their spice levels were not hot for me, but it was for my family and BF) Their food isn’t bad and it did help hit the spot. However I still have other places I prefer the flavors over, but this place was yummy. Clean ambiance. Average /loud noise. Lots of tv and a bar when you enter. Plenty/average seating. The booths have huge tables. Décor is that beach/fishing/crabbing theme and similar to boiling crab with written words and random scribbles of words and pictures on wood. Service was really nice, yet slow. The server was a nice Asian guy, looks fairly young, but did take awhile to bring the tab and then collect the tab. I had to ask for the tab and let him know we were ready to close. Coolest concept — they have a sink outside of the bathrooms strictly for washing hands. Great idea just in case the bathroom is taken and we just need to wash our hands, that would be convenient. Bathroom was clean. That’s a thumbs up! I definitely would try this place again if I’m in the area and craving Cajun style seafood.

There’s plenty of options here compared to other spots but I wasn’t a big fan of the signature Luxabu sauce. As Tiffany T. mentioned it taste like a spaghetti sauce vs a sauce for boils. The seafood itself wasn’t bad. The shrimps and clams were big and lobster wasn’t over cooked. Wish the sauce could compare to Claw Shack. Customer service was really great too

This review is all just for Emily. First off, she is literally the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. With her red hair and all. Gingers actually do have souls, okay? Ok. Anyway, I went into CTC with my friends Dylan and Michael. We we’re seated right away, no complaints there. Emily promptly greeted our table and gave us drink suggestions. For me, she convinced me to get the lychee martini and it was bomb. The boys each got a beer. Emily has all of the qualities a good server needs. She is very knowledgeable with the menu items and was able to figure out what food she thought we would enjoy. Also, she was very attentive and was so on point with refills and what not. She made us feel very comfortable and solved our problems willingly. Plus, she’s funny. She’s just winning.

When a customer asks to speak to the manager the manager will ask what does it regard. Obviously it’s something serious if they’re asking to speak to the manager? I’ve never had such shitty service. Our waitress Emily walked past our table at least a dozen times and avoided eye contact with us until we had to scream to get her attention. And she waits until the very end after we finish everything to ask if we are doing okay. I’m not gonna lie their food is good but for service that terrible and I won’t be coming back. It’s not like the manager gave any care about returning customers anyways. Three stars for food. Negative five for service.

Best jambalaya I’ve had in the Bay Area! Perfect mix of flavors with just the right amount of heat(I ordered medium for the spice level). Also the best shrimp po boy I’ve had — ever! The sauce on it is seriously bomb. Food was so good, I ordered an ounce of clams with the luxabu sauce to take home… and once again, they didn’t disappoint. Welcoming and pleasantly fast service. Nice set up and ambiance on the inside. Must try!

Love this place! Ambiance is fantastic for a nice lay back get together. On a not-so busy night Cut The Crab would receive a 5 star. They fall short not because of food or presentation, rather service. As a former waitress, I get busy =hard. However, my party of 3 was not greeted the Friday night we stopped in. Waited 20 minutes to order and another 20 for our food. I’ll just let y’all guess on how long it took us to get the bill. Still, we have returned because the food is on point… just not on Fridays.

This place is crazy good. It’s in an old sushi location and the flavors are ridiculous! Get a bucket of seafood and split it with a friend or two. Just wear clothes you don’t care about because you will get messy. If you’re female, bring a hair tie.

Wow!!! I love this place!!! I saw some friends posted, «Cut The Crab» on Facebook and thought we would try it. The staff was so attentive and incredibly nice. Our server(Sherry) was amazing. She made suggestions on what to order, was at our table every time we needed something and made the night fun. We ordered a bucket for two with medium Cajun spice, which was so good we couldn’t stop eating. This is definitely not a place to dress up at. You will have crab/prawns juice all over and you won’t care because it’s that good. The martinis were also so good you just keep ordering. We had the passion fruit martinis, yum to the yum yum yummm… It’s loud. So, great place for the entire family. This is my new favorite restaurant in Fremont. PS. Sports fans will be happy, big screen TV’s on all the walls with sports

This place comes very close to my favorite crab place. My family and I came here on a Thursday night and it was pretty empty. I liked how we didn’t have to wait for a table and yet their food was just as good as the other popular crab places around. The flavors are just as good and their bucket deals make it easy to order. The garlic noodles were almost as good as Kickin Crab. What made this place stand out for me is the quality and taste of the food that wasn’t cooked in a plastic bag. To me, it’s easy to throw seafood and other things in a bag with seasoning and cook it, but it is more difficult to cook on a stove or fryer because you have to make sure that the flavors are right. Their fried clams and fried calamari was very good, perfectly crispy and seasoned. I would say it could rival the bagged stuff and the other similar dishes elsewhere. Service was great, prices are reasonable, and they are wiling to make changes to their selections in order to accommodate your appetite.

Service is great! Place is dark, as usual, garlic noodles are good, fries are bomb(but what, $ 8 for sweet potato fries??? uhhh???) and got a combo with the luxubo sauce in mild. Nice kick, I could handle the hot but I like being able to feel my lips. We came here on a Saturday night and were skeptical because for a Saturday night, the place was half empty(half full if you’re optimistic). I ordered the combo #3 for my family(Dungeness crab or lobster, 1 lb shirmp, 1 lb clams, potatoes, sausage, corn), an order of sweet potato fries, raw oysters, and some popcorn chicken with fries. All in all, it was great but the afterwards we were all gulping up tons of water. This stuff is SALTY. It doesn’t hit you until the halfway point. My favorites was the raw oyster and the sweet potato fries. yummmmm There is nothing spectacular about this place and I honestly thing all seafood/cajun/creole places are the same… sorry not sorry?

We came here for dinner on Saturday around 7pm. No crowd, no wait, and we were able to get a booth as requested! They offer more than your usual Cajun restaurant, which I loved! Food: — Alligator bites: The meat was soft and the sauce it came with complimented it well! 4⁄5 — Cajun garlic fries: Needs to be spicier. The garlic was dominant. Crispy, which I loved. Pretty good!!! 4⁄5 — Garlic noodles: Not the best, but it was good. 3.5÷5 — Bucket #2 in medium luxabu: The sauce was different. Good spice to it. Not overpowering with garlic– like most places. Wish it was a bit sweeter. Came with dungeness crab, 1 lb shrimp, 1 lb clams, potatoes, sausages, corn, and edamame. Cooked perfectly btw– not overcooked. It was also nice of them to separate the crab in a different bag. It was kind of weird how they removed the shell already, but understandable. 4⁄5. There was an issue with the dungeness crab hubby ordered. The body looked rotten. The waiter returned it to the kitchen and was able to replace it for us. No questions asked. This was after hubby ate through the legs already. Very accommodating!!! Thank you!

One of the coworkers recommended me of this place, so the husband and I gave it a try(awhile ago). We came here on a Saturday night at around 6−7pm, and there was no wait at all. The restaurant wasn’t full during the time we dined there. We ordered combo 1 with 2lbs shrimps and 1 lb crawfish to replace 1 lb clams. And we chose Luxabu sauce with mild level of spiciness because I don’t eat spicy. The food came out fairly quick compared to other places. Well, it makes sense because the restaurant is not crowded. We noticed shrimps were pretty fresh. Crawfish was okay. The luxabu sauce was not bad but it was a little too sweet for my taste. My husband agreed on that. To sum up, the food here at Cut The Crab is okay, not great but it also depends. My male coworker really likes it here, so he prefers a bit sweeter in the sauce than I do. So if you have not tried, I say to give it a try to see if you like it or not. The restaurant is nice and clean. And since it’s not as crowded as Boiling Crab or Kickin Crab, it gives a nicer environment. Service was attentive and nice.

I’ve driven past the restaurant a few times and looked up some reviews and thought it seemed decent. I don’t have a lot of dinner/food buddies in Fremont, so I dropped in one night when I didn’t feel like cooking. Yes, I went to go eat by myself. The people working here seemed to have a really hard time with that. I was ignored for a long while, even though I walked through the door and stood by the host area. When someone asked me if I had been helped, I said no. They asked me for how many people, and I told them that it was just for one. They had a hard time with that and asked me to repeat it. Then I was made fun of for not having anyone to eat with. I couldn’t believe my ears… I asked them to repeat what they said, and I think at that point the server was kind of blustering about it and said that they were just kidding and apologized a bunch of times. I was kind of hangry and tired so I was like whatever… but really? When is it ever okay to make fun of someone who is eating by themselves, especially if it’s a customer and you don’t know them? Rude. Well, the food was good and no one made fun of me after that. I think the food is decent here. I’m reluctant to come eat here again because I’m still quite offended, even though I’ve had the chance to and I do enjoy a good seafood boil. If you are stuck choosing between Ray’s and Cut The Crab, I think Ray’s is better… just make sure you don’t eat here by yourself.

I feel so bloated just writing this review. I came here with my cousin because we wanted to try a new cajun spot. We got here around 8 pm and were seated right away. Me and my cousin ordered shrimp in the luxabu sauce but different spiciness level. She got medium and I got hot. We also ordered cajun garlic fries and garlic noodles. The shrimp was pretty good, and the sauce was spicy for me but as you eat more of it, the spiciness just dies down :) The cajun garlic fries tasted kind of bland, and the garlic wasn’t even mixed in with the fries. On the plus side, the garlic noodles were yummy and they weren’t too garlicky. But honestly, I love any kind of garlic noodles. Our waitress was nice and attentive as well, and she always made sure to refill our water. Okay, so why am I giving this place 3 stars? Wasn’t a fan of cajun garlic fries, and when our bill came, the place had already added 18% tip. Therefore our meal was around 50 bucks!

3.5 We called ahead because we were 7 in a party & the guy on the phone told us there was no wait. Once we got to the place, they told us we were supposed to make a reservation(but as we looked around, there was no one here). We sat down & waited 10minutes before someone came to take our order/give us drinks/bibs. There were people seated after us who got their waters & bibs before us. Then, they finally came to take our order. We went to wash our hands & the bathrooms are nice & clean. There is also a sink outside to wash your hands. I like the ambience of the place. Very mellow & sea themed. There are also TVs all over the place so it’ll be a great place to watch basketball!!! We got our garlic noodles & sweet potato fries first. The garlic noodles are bomb. It isn’t an overwhelming garlic flavor but just enough for you to taste & enjoy it. The sweet potato fries were crunchy & nothing special. We also ordered oysters which were gone in 30 seconds. We ordered #3 combo(mild) & an extra pound of shrimp(spicy). The spicy was SPICY. I can usually handle spicy but this was much more than a kick! The sauce was good, nothing special, but I did like it more than boiling crab. We always had to ask for a water refill. The servers were friendly & one of the Orange shirt guys stopped to talk as he poured my water, which was nice!

I’m updating my review for their alcohol and management’s customer service. Other than beer I would never order alcohol because they don’t use real vodka or tequila, it’s all«blends». I have no idea what that even means but I can tell you from personal experience that it’s gross. Customer service is usually a hit AND miss because the people who help out with water and bussing are amazing and so friendly. Whereas some of the servers are just moody or can’t handle multiple tables. Management is even worse. You can try to have a conversation with them but they won’t respond with more than two words. I’ve experienced this rudeness even on the phone. Rude rude rude. I guess they’re just completely reliant on the good food for returning customers, which is fine but I would really like to enjoy both the food and customer service. And if they would get proper alcohol I would definitely give them a well deserved five star review.
