Market Broiler is a place my family has gone over the years and continue to leave content. The food, management, staff and ambience is very inviting. We are fans! For birthday celebrations of friends and family we will continue to keep Market Broiler on top of our list. Thank you! Not sure what to eat? Try Fisherman Stew! My fav.

At first we were seated at a dark table, but our waiter Jorge discerned our dissapointment and immediately rescued us to a better out booth –6 stars just for the custoner service alone and it was before we even sat down to look at the menu. Jorge waited on us first class all the way, from letting us know fresh bringing us additional items as

I like this place, I have being a customer since they were at the other location, never had any bad experience until last week! They hired this tall skinny young lady with bad attitude who was our server, we were still eating our meal when she brought us our check, I was so upset! She totally spoiled our dinner, I mentioned to her how wrong she was, I said what happened if we decide to order dessert, coffee or something else? She replied, I can just added to your check, and if you don’t just pay, so table will be ready, I don’t know how long she is being doing it, but she is so wrong! You don’t bring the check while you’re still eating your meal. An apology does not undo your bad moment!

Not like it used to be. Horrible service. The wait time for someone to even come and acknowledge that we were seated. Then he was very impatient. He kept looking around instead of at us. Wouldn’t answer our questions. Got smart when I asked for bread. It was not this way before.

So so. Have had better seafood and service. It’s Fremont what do u expect. Probably will not be returning. Will make the extra drive to sf for quality seafood. Place has decent oysters.

The best part of our meal was the hot sour dough bread! SERIOUSLY! We arrived around 4:00pm on a Saturday, there were probably 40+ tables available(no one seated at them) and we were told there was a wait. OK, we waited only to be sat in the bar next to a table of four loud, drunk cackling hens that could be heard throughout the entire restaurant. We went back to the hostess stand and asked to be seated in the dining room. The young light skinned black host tells us to take a seat because we are going to have to wait. We wait some more… Finally, we get to be seated in the dining room. A young, timid, inexperienced server came up took our beverage orders and brings the star of our meal. Hot sourdough bread with butter! We order or food, get our salad. Tasty… Server comes back and advises us that they are out of halibut and they are substituting a fish named Cobia(never heard of it before) and tells us it’s just like halibut. Our meals arrive… Scallops are not cleaned properly, full of sand and over cooked, salmon was not very good at all, the Cobia that’s suppose to be just like halibut is not even close… We didn’t eat it and when they picked up our plates didn’t notice the meal hadn’t been eaten. Oh, our server has disappeared and we have a new guy, the manager comes by and asked what I looking for, I said our server, he says oh he must be on break. Well, this wasn’t the case at all cause I went to wash my hands and he was waiting on tables in another section. We have given this place 2 chances now, horrible experience, food is switched and not very good. We won’t be going back.

My friend and I came in on a Monday for lunch we both had the steak and shrimp combo the steak was good I can not lie except for the excess fat like seriously 1⁄3 of my steak was fat. And my shrimp skewer was barely grilled. The spinach is just bland. And the cheesy potatoes were kinda dry. And in the menu they implied about how everything is chef made and I feel like I ate at sizzlers. Fuck this place

We were excited to check out a new seafood place. It wasn’t a disappointment. There were fresh, raw fish lining a display in the front, like they have at a market. Only this had more variety and a better setup. It was cool to look at. There was a wait. They said it was going to be like 25 minutes, but it was really only 10 for the two of us. One downside was that it took a really long time for our waitress to come out and take our orders. And she just didn’t seem very attentive overall. Don’t get me wrong, the place was busy, but there was an abundance of staff working. She couldn’t have been that busy. My BF ordered the crab alfredo and I had the combine two option with snow crab legs and shark. The snow crab was excellent, but I didn’t care for the shark. It was chewy and tasted blackened. I’m sure that’s how it is supposed to be(I’m not that familiar with shark) but it wasn’t something I liked, so I took it home and fed it to my pescatarian brother. My sides were the garlic green beans and cheesy potatoes. the potatoes were bland and blah, and the garlic green beans were okay. They were the full, thin beans like I like, but they weren’t spiced enough for me. My favorite was the crab alfredo though. We took home the leftovers but then we both finished it as a night snack. It was huge and delicious. Only thing was, it was very oily. But that added great flavor!

I like this place! Clean, Fresh, Tasty seafood. Love the retail station at the front entrance /bar area. Portions are plenty and meals are hot. King Crab is REALGOOD. Lunch OR dinner — cant go wrong. I have eaten here five or so times and meals are very consistent. Reasonably priced…

Ambiance: it was really warm and comfortable, and they played Adele. No complaints there Service: our waitress was really nice and cheerful. She checked up on us a lot and gave us updates on our food. She was a bit overzealous in asking us to order, but never gave off a bad vibe. Food: I had the fettuccine, which was alright. Honestly food was where market broiler lost a star. The pasta tasted a tad overcooked and was mushy. The sauce too was bland and slightly too watery. I did enjoy the garlic bread served with it, as well as their complimentary sourdough. The sourdough in particular was delicious: crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Overall: I was fairly impressed, and will try other dishes next time. I hope they will not be so bland, and I hope that we get that waitress again!

Very annoyed… Feeling discriminated in a way… One other Asian guy who i dont know one seat down and we are both kind of ignored unless i like say something out loud… Courteous to everyone else around at the bar… I havent even got my food because it took me 30mins to get a chance to order it… The younger bartender needs to be taught customer service… The other bartender making drinks for the rest of the restaurant saw how annoyed i was and tried to make up for the horrible service and even helped me opened my sparkling wine and poured it. The original jerk left it on the bar for me to serve myself and left the previous person bill and dirty dishes behind… The one who tried to make up helped cleaned and remove the previous patron left in over… One star for that guy. Left a bad taste in my mouth and the food was just ok… NEVERAGAIN…

Went here for my six year anniversary. The said the wait would be 20 – 25 minutes, it was a little longer(I didn’t mind). The older man who called us in was super polite and friendly(stuff like that sets the mood of how a dinner is going to go), the girl next to him: didn’t pay attention to us at anytime before that.(when we checked to see if our name was called), prior to that, there were two other guys who took our names(a previous shift) and they were both polite. Our waiter: he was okay, nothing special. Came in once in a rare while. Some other girl had to bring my drink out because our waiter was busy, but once she got to our table, she took back the drink: «they told me to bring a long island tea to this table, but I guess not». and she swiftly turned around leaving. and I said: «that’s mine». ^ maybe I look young or like someone who doesn’t something, but you could double check. Food: The appetizers/non entrees were better than the actual food. The mussels were bomb. Two sides: the coleslaw wasn’t the best, but it’s pretty up there, better than most places. Not gross whatsoever. I think I would prefer getting something else though since it’s not top-notch next time. Baked potato was super duper good, I took out the sour cream out though. My boyfriend got steamed veggies(the zucchinis were phenomenal although he isn’t into veggies) for his sides & french fries even though it wasn’t written in the menu. We both did the combination deal where we could chose two or three different entrees from a set menu. My food ended up being really small portioned looking: coconut shrimp & scallops(the bacon scallops were so small: it wasn’t worth the amount), while he got the snow crab and shrimp on skewers and it looked like a lot more. The coconut shrimp was pretty bomb.

I finally had time to review this place. I really like Market Broiler. I used to go to their old location all the time. Now, it’s in Pacific Commons in a popular Fremont location right off of HWY880. They picked a good location for their new restaurant where there is now lots of people traffic. Good and nice area. It’s a big restaurant that can fit big groups inside and outside seating. Whenever I want crab Alfredo close by, I think of Market Broiler. :-) I would prefer restaurants in SF but I get lazy to drive that far. The food served here is between Italian and American food. Service is always good here. If it’s a weekend, service can be a little slow and the wait can be a little long as well. They don’t take reservations like they used too but then I think it’s only on the weekend. They have happy hour times but during weekdays only; limited to drinks and appetizers; not a great selection. I have had many of their dishes. Their meals are sometimes a little too salty but the servers will try to correct it. Based on my last experience and what I can remember of my last meals here, Oysters on half shell is pretty fresh and served with my favorite horseradish and cocktail sauce. The calamari they serve now, needs a little salt then all sweet sauce. Their salmon and scallop dish is good, the crab alfredo has plenty of meat and noodles were not dry. I love the buttery garlic bread it comes with many of the dishes. The Linguine clams had plenty of clams and sauce. I liked the Atlantic cod dish, it was good but my husband didn’t like the Greek olives it comes with. I have had their steaks dishes. They are pretty good as well. Drinks are always good. Prices are a little high but I would still come back…

3.5 stars for the consistency, the decent pricing, and the salt water taffy! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid(their other location which relocated to this one), and I always know what to expect. I wanna say 20+ times at the least, no joke. My parents absolutely love this place, especially because it was around«pre-yelp»(the prehistoric era), and it’s so consistent they don’t care about reviews. Whether it was celebrating something(they have a mailing list for birthdays AND anniversaries) or just to eat somewhere, this was their restaurant of choice. In terms of actual food, don’t expect it to be like Alexander’s by the Sea or anything super high end. It’s pretty standard. I typically get the duo or trio options — salmon, shrimp skewer, and scallops — but they also have daily specials that are well portioned for the price. For example, I think Thursdays have the salmon, shrimp, catfish + 2 sides for $ 14.99. I will say that I thoroughly enjoy their salmon — never dry, perfectly moist on the inside everytime. I will warn that if you’re not a fan of butter, tell your waiter because they drizzle that on EVERYTHING(in addition to giving it to you on the side). I mean everything — potatoes, veggies, seafood. They also give complementary fresh sourdough bread to start. Wednesdays and Thursdays they have an appetizer special($ 5 per plate) including calamari, rolls, salad, and others. It’s definitely worth a go! And take a couple extra salt water taffies on the way out at the hostess counter. I literally bought bags of them when I was young because I loved them so much. Talk about cavities.

Market Broiler is a decent place to get American style seafood, but there are some hits and misses here when it comes to the food. Service is great and they bring you as much bread as you want before your meal. For the most part, the waiters are very attentive and are always willing to answer any questions about the menu. Crab alfredo– This dish is pretty good and very creamy. The alfredo sauce is good, but a little heavy so I wouldn’t recommend this dish if you are looking for something lighter to eat. Harvest of the sea– This seafood pasta comes with a variety of seafood including mussels, scallops, shrimp, squid, and clams. I would say this is one of their best dishes that I’ve had here. There’s a generous amount of seafood and the portions are also generously sized. I love the garlic bread that comes with this dish. Clam chowder– I would not recommend the clam chowder. It was not memorable. Even the clam chowder at Boudin is better. The soup lacked flavor and wasn’t very tasty although it had a decent amount of seafood in it. Fish and chips– The fish had too much batter and the fries weren’t very good. It’s not even that hard to make good fries!!! I only come here occasionally for lunch with my coworkers since it’s near my office, but I definitely wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

Always ask the locals!!! I was in town for business and wanted to try something local and yummy. My taxi driver recommend this place and it did not disappoint! When I arrived I’d just missed Happy Hour but my waiter showed me some of their other specials. Tuesday’s is $ 5 wine… oh yeah and the special is the Steak and Shrimp combination with two sides. I ordered a glass of wine, the calamari and the special with cheese potatoes and mixed veggies as my side. The calamari was a huge win! It was hot snd crispy and comes with a side of cocktail sauce for dipping. I would absolutely recommend it. My dinner was ridiculously good! The portion sizes here are HUGE!!! I couldn’t believe that all that food was less than $ 15! My steak was cooked as requested, the shrimp were well seasoned and the cheesy potatoes and mixed veggies were the perfect compliments to the dish. I’d recommend this place to anyone and if I’m in the area again I’ll be stopping by!

Think of Market Broiler as an upgrade from Red Lobster in every way except for the prices. It’s more expensive but you are absolutely given your money’s worth. Every bite of your entrée dish is all substance and zero fluff. The oyster appetizers were good and fresh and easy to share with a party. My main course was the crab-stuffed salmon. It was delicious and incredibly difficult to finish. The sauce that compliments it is also good. You’ll be using all of it. I was so full that by the time the child-sized cheesecake came around, I didn’t need to think about eating for the next day. The service, like any higher-end seafood restaurant, is excellent as expected. Even though there are a bunch of options for everyone including drink specials, I wouldn’t bring your family unless if you were celebrating something. It would be pretty expensive for a casual family night.
