Blown away by their spicy sambar. literally took me to vijayawada and nellore! Idli was soft though it seemed like it was sitting idle for a while. vada was hot, crispy outside soft inside!!! Just the way it’s supposed to be. the look of the place actually made me postpone visiting it for quite some time which I now regret!

With all the multitude of Indian food in the Bay Area. Every place does need to meet expectations. As is always the case m, most of the Indian restaurants forget the aspect of customer service and this restaurant really tops the list. When you go into place and order, they will bluntly ask you wait — I’ve been here thrice and every time this has taken place. It takes longer than usual for the food to come. We should be thankful that they don’t hurl the plates at you. Extremely curt and insensible is what defines the staff. Food is above average which is the only saving grace, that is not enough though! This place needs to get its act together.

The absolute worst ever!!! I have seen places which perform bad on one or two metrics. Cleanliness, pricing, ambience, professionalism, taste of the food, quantity, time taken to serve the order. Rarely has any establishment managed to score zero points on all of these. Cleanliness– I dont know how the food inspectors have not yet shut this thing down. The chef can be seen popping a few food items into his mouth while cooking. Scratching body parts is usual. Forget about any gloves or head gear. Pricing — Not the cheapest of places. It has standard pricing. Would not have been a factor if everything else was agreeable. Ambience– This is a run-down small corner shop. You should be happy if you can find a table and a chair to sit down. Professionalism — The guys who take the orders are absolutely clueless. There is no tracking of the order whatsoever. The guy who takes the order has no idea if the item is available. He take a printout of the order and gives it to the chef. If you have ordered for a take out(which you are forced to do because of the lack of space) the chef places anything that he cooks in a white unmarked container with no order number. The guy who bags the order has no clue about which box is for which order. He opens each box and places it in a bag. However, he doesnt track whats already in the bag. If 5 people order for pick up, then the entire thing just gets totally messed up, and they end up taking 20 minutes to give you one plate of idli. The guys have no remorse whatsoever, and are glad to see you leave. I ended up not getting 3 of the items that I ordered after waiting for 40 minutes on a Friday night, and by the time I took it back home, I had one really soft and cold dosa, and a plate of idli, neither of which I even ordered. Taste of food — The absolute pits. You can make better dosa by taking some Shasta dosa batter in an indian store. Quantity — Not that I’d like more of this crappy food. Kind of glad that there wasnt more of this to suffer. On a good note, I lose my appetite anytime I am in the vicinity of this place, which is a good way to diet I guess.

Giving it 2 Stars as the food is average but the service is pathetic, their server«Sachin» is screaming as if he is doing a favor on the guests. Wish he learns some Basics of manners. Hope the place gets some quick tips around«customer loyalty lessons»

Horrible Experience. We wanted to start a new year by visiting this place since we had heard about it from some of our friend. We call them up at 10:15am to check if they are open. We specifically ask if we need to reserve for a table of 4. The guy tells us that they are open and there is lot of room. We drive up there and he says«we open at 11:30am». We told him that we called you 4mins before. The RUDE guy tells us that I did not say when we work. I just said we are open today. I don’t think he even understands Basic English and on top of that he doesn’t even realize the mistake. I never had such a horrible service at any places in Fremont. Mannerless person did not even say«sorry».

Alright so I come here every time my family and I decide to come to Fremont and we are never disappointed this place has amazing dosas one of the biggest I’ve ever seen and the extension to the store is absolutely beautiful and can finally fit all the customers who want to come in. The food here is all authentic and actually tastes like Indian food unlike the surrounding places I’ve been too. I legit am in love with this place’s amazing food

Excellent food, yummy chutneys and flavorful sambar. In short, Excellent food + decent ambience + very reasonable price where food is served to your table. We came here on Wednesday evening, but each and every item we ordered or got from the chutney bar were awesome.

—The Worm Story– We have been in Fremont for an year now and have been enjoying the luxury of choices of Indian food we get here. It was yesterday we thought to try Dosa Place for the first time. We placed a to-go order for Madras Masala Dosa and Ghee Roast over phone for dinner and went to collect this. Since I am a sambar lover, when I saw that they give Uduppi Spicy Sambar to-go($ 2 for 8oz), I added that too to my order thinking to have it for breakfast the next day with home made dosa. While we were waiting there we noticed that the price is little cheaper compared to other dosa outlets and there was a long line. So we thought, definitely this is one place we missed all these days and that we should be visiting here more often from now. Once we got home and started eating, I was disappointed with the sambar and masala dosa. Sambar did not taste great. Masala dosa was also not that good. Ok, I thought. may be their ‘good’ sambar is the Uduppi Spicy one which I reserved for next day’s breakfast. Come next day(that is today), we prepared dosa at home and opened the Uduppi Spicy Sambar that we bought yesterday and guess what we found. A WHITEWORM floating in the sambar. We were disappointed and shocked. Decided never to visit the place again. Decided to share this experience with you. Now when I logged into Unilocal to write this review, I understood one thing. The fault was not theirs, but it was OURS. I see many other reviews complaining the hygiene of this outlet and I saw a guy complaining about finding a dead fly in his sambar. So basically it was our fault going to this place without reading the reviews. So friends, you might save a dollar or two going to this place compared to other places. But that happiness is only until you find your own piece of worm. I feel so lucky to have found this before I started eating it !! I have taken pics and will share it here.

Cheese dosa was not good, tasted old and sambhar was ok. Noisy ambience and lots of dirty tables which no one bothered to clean, never coming back.

Came here with my son as he is a big fan of plain dosa. They gave me a bowl for the sambar I asked for the plastic to go cup because he doesn’t usually finish the serving and I don’t want to waste. The cashier told me he will only give me a lid for the plastic bowl when my son doesn’t finish?! Service zero.

Great place for Dosa, Idli, wada n Sag Puri, Spl. Andhra Spicy Dosa wasn’t expected. But one thing I wanna say«Kirraak spicy dosa as we get in Hyderabad» after a long time in Bay Area. Really good food that I could recommend.

Whats the point in having dosa when these guys fail to give chutney for the third fucking time.?? This includes me mentioning about about the chutney the third time i went!!! Just so these guys know, there aint no irani chai with out osmania bisket. these is no biryani with out chicken. And there is no dosa with out chutneyy. PS: I just realized these tards forgot my curd rice too.

Very unhygienic! The waiter gave my food to someone, i saw the person touching my food and then he realized it was my food and gave it to me. The waiter kept scratching his head, and touched my food. Sambar was cold. Overall, a very unsatisfying experience. I wouldn’t go back there.

Let’s start off by saying I will never come back here again. I walk in and all I see is filth. The smell when you have walk in is nauseating and you feel ill. The tables were dirty and the whole atmosphere was unsanitary. The spinach dosa was average, but I would not risk coming here again.

It pains me when I see a business which has good food, ok service and lots of customers faltering at the very basic of things like CLEANLINESS. If only they could take care of the place being a lot more cleaner than what it is today — this place has potential.

I looove this place… I started eating here from last month and I eat almost every day:). Don’t expect ambience but get thrilled with reasonably priced awesome food . Some of the things I liked so far from my visits: — well, I love everything in there menu :) but I mostly order masala dosa, combo3, chola bhatura, combo2 and Gobi Manchurian and COFEE!

Pretty decent place. I went with zero expectation to this place but was pleasantly surprised. Overall the place seemed neat and food was great as usual. My kid loved their Dosa. Unlimited Sambhar(Garlic & without Garlic). I will visit them soon… Liked their Tea too. ;)

Surprisingly everyone is talking about the food and no one has mentioned about the dirty ambience of this place. The entrance of this restaurant has a weird smell and the dirty door doesn’t give you a good feeling. We went to have lunch on a Sunday afternoon. the tables were dirty, the floor had water spilled, no one bothered to clean. There were dirty cleaning clothes lying around. This is not a place for someone who cares about hygiene and cleanliness. The food was good. But such careless and shabby ambience deserves a negative rating. Will not visit this place again.

The food is fab. They even have no/low oil options. My favorites are paneer bhurji dosa, ginger dosa, upma, and even rava dosa,(which I find yum only here). I would give them high five if they’d give more sambar for togo.
