Best hole in the wall type restaurant find, best mexican food ever! If my weight could take it, I would eat there more than once a week. The chips are homemade and great to eat as you drive home from grabbing a to-go order. When my family and friends come over and I don’t have time to cook, they are super happy when I order food from there. Total comfort food.

Another one of a few family run taqueria’s with a independent name, but the menu and food(quality) is the same great taste as a few others around the Bay! Best chips of any taqueria as they make their own. Nice thick chips that don’t break like so many other restaurants. This location is a small hiding place that once you find it, you’ll be hooked and coming back for more. I’ve been going here for nearly 20 years as it is my neighbors run shop. My go to spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner when craving Mexican food. Can’t go wrong with the soft tacos, burritos(wet too), or any other flavor you crave!

First time back here in a few years. Used to come here all the time at my old job but haven’t been able to come back recently until now. It’s just as good now as it was back then. Best taqueria in Fremont.

We were looking for a place to cater my daughter’s bday party so we went to have dinner at Taqueria Zapata to check it out. I had a super burrito which was delicious(shredded chicken) and packed with ingredients. We ended up getting chicken and beef fajitas catered with rice and retried beans. Everything was a hit and our guests kept asking us where we ordered the food. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the beef was good quality and not greasy. The refried beans make me want to write poetry. I’m not usually a rice fan but I loved the rice too! For $ 150 we fed 35 people and had plenty left over!

Everything is spicy so if you can’t do spice I wouldn’t recommend it. Great portions, flavors, being true to the idea that the more hole in the wall the taqueria is the better it it. The main dude is so serious all the time, I’m waiting to see him crack a smile. I’ve eaten 75% of the menu from asada fries to tamales and haven’t been disappointed yet

Very good. Authentic Mexican food. This place is a joint; nothing fancy; counter ordering; but it is very busy even between lunch and dinner. It’s 2:40 in the afternoon and kind of packed. I had tacos(just dipping my toe in, yo) but I had 4 different meats, one of them was tongue. It was kind of gamey but delicious. I’m drinking a Modelo beer with it. Guys are cool and the counter dude was very helpful explaining the foods and spices. I live a couple blocks from here, so I will be back for sure. 4 stars… ok 5. I need to learn Spanish. I tried the only line I remember from Spanish class, «where is Jose? He is in his office. He is very busy.» It must have helped because the staff was friendly and the food was good.

I couldn’t find parking at Los Cabos and Sala Thai wasn’t answering their phones so I ended up here. I ordered the Chili Verde Hot Plate with no beans. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the best Chili Verde I’ve ever had. It was a bit more on the sour side which caused my tummy to gurgle loudly. Their chips and pico de gallo were awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Most likely won’t be getting Chili Verde again here any time soon.

I’m coming here for the first time today and I’m impressed on how good it tastes their meat tastes so good(carne asada) the price is reasonable and u get a good amount of food. I wasn’t expecting that from a random whole in the wall kinda place like this but never judge a book by its cover lol I will be coming back to try the burrito

I ordered the #6 breakfast burrito. It has eggs, chorizo, refried beans, cheese, and pico de gallo salsa. It was very filling and delicious. The only negative was there was only 2 salsas to choose from at their salsa bar: 1 mild red salsa and 1 pico de gallo. They also served me ice water and chips with my breakfast burrito. I would definitely return here.

Came here for the first time tonight with my friends and had some pretty good food. The chili Verde plate was awesome. Very flavorful and juicy. Also got the Carne Asada super burrito which I thought was well prepared. Only issue I had was that the cheese was just thrown in there and not melted. Same with my friends bean and cheese burrito(she’s less adventurous)…the cheese wasn’t gooey and melted like you usually get. *maybe we’re just picky? The salad bar is quite disappointing as well. Over all I’m going to give this place another try. I hope to have another decent experience.

Terrible terrible terrible!!! I would never recommended this place to anyone! I was craving tacos yesterday at work so I went to get some on my lunch, I didn’t tip because I just picked up food not an environment to me that deserves a tip, so from then I received terrible service. I noticed everyone who ordered got their food walked to them but not me(guessing because I didn’t tip) Well it doesn’t stop there, the food was poorly made and very bland I dont know if I got the shit end of the stock because I didn’t tip but anyways, 12 hours later I wake up in a hot sweat and worst abdominal pain ever. 24 hours later, here I am at urgent care for my abdominal pain and vomiting getting prescribed antibiotics for the poorly prepared food I ate at this place. I would never wish this pain on anyone ever!!! So beware if you don’t tip, you might end up at the emergency room! :(

Little taco shop located in a moderate sized shopping plaza along Fremont Blvd near Red Lobster and FoodMaxx. Prices are reasonable & their food is good(the chorizo is tasty but the al pastor is pretty fatty). And although small, they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. This has definitely become one of our go-to places for a quick dinner.

I think their meats are of high quality and they have a good selection of dishes. I have not had a dish I didn’t like and the staff is friendly. the place is not very nice but it’s a Taqueria so that’s o.k.

This place is clutch! Overlooked in a small corner of a shopping plaza, Zapata sure does have that small local Mexican joint feeling. The horchata is on point. I had their Zapata quesadilla which was huge. Burrito sized quesadilla with meat, sour cream and guac stuffed in a tortilla. Sure was filling! The reason I gave Zapata 4 stars was because of their limited salsa options. Only one sauce and pico de gallo? C’mon at least add one more option!

I thought had reviewed this place already, and was just coming here to make an update, but I never finished the original one. Anyway, here we go. The first review would have been between a 3 – 4. I come here for the horchata and al pastor super burritos. I enjoy lengua and cabeza too, I just haven’t had either here before. Review 1, al pastor super burrito with a horchata. What a great burrito. Probably in my top 5 burritos of all time. I would have given this place a 4, but the price just seems ever so slightly high. Yes, I realize that the burritos are huge, and they could probably work as two meals, but something about spending over $ 10 for a burrito(no matter the size) and a drink just seems a bit much. It’s not so bad that it keeps me from coming back though. Fast forward to today. I decided to try the cabeza(beef cheeks) burrito. And of course I had to get a horchata. The first thing I notice is the heft. Now I’ve weighed my burritos from here before, and they tend to be in the ballpark of 1.5lbs. Today’s seemed extra hefty. I was hungry, so I didn’t get a chance to weigh it, nor take a picture before devouring it. As I take the burrito out of the bag, I immediately notice that this is some kind of über burrito. As I start to unwrap the foil, it definitely has a girth to it. It was probably bigger around than the wide part of my horchata cup. And I got a medium drink. You know a burrito is big when you have to devise a plan of attack. You can’t just unwrap all of the foil at once. You can’t just take bites at will. You need to strategize. If you took a regular bite, you might loose some of the filling, and that would have been a travesty! You almost had to eat this from the inside out. The burrito was built right too, meaning I had a kaleidoscope of flavors and ingredients with every bite. It wasn’t all meat with one bite, then all rice with the next. The burrito was moist, from start to finish. So all of the ingredients were put together like a united colors of Benneton ad. I don’t know if it was the fat from the meat, but the whole burrito just melted in your mouth. I would say that this was either my number 1 or a really close number 2 best burrito of all time. The number 1 being a surf and turf CA burrito from Lucha Libre in San Diego. And finally, the horchata, I give it two thumbs up!!!
