According to Unilocal this place is closed. That’s too bad but I’m not going to miss this place. It was really cool there was a DJ when we walked in on a Saturday night. He played cool tunes ’til midnight from the 60’s to present. One minute we were bopping our heads to Michael Jackson, then Bel Biv Devoe, then Britney Spears. The next minute we were swaying to a country music by Shania Twain, rockin’ to Madonna, and then we were groovin’ to Tom Jones… wha!!! Wait a minute, Tom Jones??? *face palm* Most of the customers were in their 30’s to early 40’s, I didn’t think music from Tom Jones was appropriate but we couldn’t stop giggling so it’s all good. This wine bar had an extensive list of wines and they also had interesting stuff like pizzas, cheese plates, savory crepes, salads, tapas, etc. We already had dinner so my friends and I only wanted drinks and dessert. I was really disappointed to see 3 kinds of sweet crepes from $ 6-$ 8 on their menu. Three!!! That’s it, no other dessert!!! LAME!!! I had a Nutella/strawberry crêpe that was just okay. I don’t remember what the other crepes were, I didn’t really care. After my first visit I knew that would be my last. Why come back when they don’t have much dessert!!! There are so many other wine bars with better menus. I guess now that they’re closed, there’s no way of going back anyway.

I’m a wine amateur, always stuck in dessert wines until tonight. The bartenders were extremely nice and made great suggestions for me to try as I tried to get acquainted with some white wines. My girlfriend and I tried about 5 different wines, plus a dessert crêpe, plus an appetizer of bruschetta. All this for about $ 45!!! And there was live jazz. Will definitely come back again. Ample parking. Also near a nail spa, DSW shoes, Cold Stone, Ohana Hawaiian BBQ, and much more.

Where to go in Fremont: — When you just want to go and have a relaxing night out? — Enjoy wine with a friend? — Where people are not too loud? — No 20 something trying to dry hump and hit on you? *cringe* — No middle aged men acting all cray cray and wild like they’re 25 doing shots? *double cringe* Look no further, Vida Y Vino Wine Bistro is the place that’s right for you. A hole in a wall located inside the Pacific Commons Shopping Center. While last night was very tiring for me, the calling of my red was so strong I had to give in. So me and my friend who just came back from Southern CA went to Vida. The place was not busy since it’s a Monday with only a dozen of people hanging out. After browsing through their considerable wine list, Tommy the manager asked us what we want. I said something that’s not dry but fruity and light. He left and came back with a glass of Wild Hare Zinfandel. My friend liked it too so I ordered for the whole bottle and a Cheese and Tomato pizza to feed my guest. They also serve cheese plates and crepes among other things. Service is great! Thanks Tommy for taking care of us. Place is so chill with comfy chairs and sofa. Good for catching up with the Gossip girls! :P They play movies on Mondays and have live entertainment on weekends. My new hang out place(that’s super close to home) i tell yah! :)

Happy hour on a Friday evening… your time is better spent elsewhere. I got the white sangria… womp womp womp. Sangrias are delicious. If I hadn’t had one before, this sangria would make me not want to try anymore. Even the regular sangria just wasn’t good. It tasted watered down, and like a juice of some sort. And we wondered if there was any alcohol in it. They had a watermelon cocktail for happy hour(I can’t remember the name) — blegh! It had lots of water melon pieces in it, with seeds too. What kind of a drink is that!!! I think the only person who liked their drink was my friend who ordered a red wine, and my friend who got water. The good part were the couches we got to sit on. I think I would have been happier at a TGIF’s, drinking something I already had in the past.

Well, well, well… Fremont, you surprise me sometimes! I went to Vida Y Vino initially when it opened, but hadn’t been back until recently. The place has definitely ramped up, and is now trendy, vibrant, and host to many social gatherings and varieties of people. The wine list seemed to be fairly extensive and inclusive of wine flight options. They offer a sizable appetizer and food menu, as well(we didn’t try that this time around). Dessert options consist of crepes only we were told, and unfortunately the crêpe maker was broken… so no dessert. Only one dessert option?! Major boo. We stuck to wine flights and had an enjoyable evening people-watching and listening to a live musician. Not a bad place to chill on a night when you feel like staying close to home. Wish I would’ve came back sooner…

I came back last night with a girlfriend to catch up over some wine. I am lowering my star due to my experience with their food. Granted this isn’t a restaurant/dining establishment, I was really disappointed with the food options. Looking at the food menu, you’re excited — delicious sounding appetizers, pizzas, paninis… YUM! I ordered a pizza and cheese/salami plate. When the pizza came, I looked at it, and it looked like a children’s frozen microwaveable pizza from the supermarket. I ordered Swiss Cheese — the cheese, crackers, and salami looked like the most inexpensive options at the supermarket and the plate arrangement was very unappealing to the eye. Like I said, this is a wine bar, but still… I would expect at least decent/good looking food. Maybe we just got unlucky? Who knows. But my tiny little microwaveable pizza was $ 9, should’ve been $ 1. I would’ve even been happier with a frozen Trader Joe’s quality pizza. Anyhow, I still like this place because it’s one of the few nicer places to have wine in Fremont, is a comfortable place to sit if you want to stay for a short or long period of time(we ended up sitting here for 4 hours chatting over wine yesterday), and service is good. I’ll just be sure to fill my tummy elsewhere.

As sad as it is, there are really only two options for Fremont people on a weekday night: Vida Y Vino or BJ’s. And in that hopeless situation we can find blessings in the fact that both those places are actually GOOD. I love Vida Y Vino because it’s like that place I dream of opening one day. A tiny bar with wine and good food, along with some good live music. Bartenders are super friendly, and there are plenty of comfy sofas for you to just relax in. They have cute specials like the movie night or the wine flights, so it’s good to spend your evening there no matter what day of the week. Some tips: — If you check into Vida Y Vino on Facebook on your phone, you can get 15% off a glass of wine. — The Tuesday wine flights are good because you can try 5 different kinds of wine of your choice for $ 15. — You can get a glass of wine from here and take it next door to Zaza to get a mani/pedi(although Zaza does offer a glass of cheap wine there themselves) and Zaza will return the glass for you.

My friend and I got a Groupon to try out the Vida y Vino. I saw this when it opened but I had no clue of what it was until the Groupon. Last Saturday on an early evening, my friend, her boyfriend, my husband and I tried this out before going bowling at Cloverleaf with friends. The place opens at 3pm though so don’t expect to come here in the morning or early afternoon. It wasn’t busy and for a little while, we had the place to ourselves. The place is small so seating is limited. We were served by the owner(who was the only one that day). It’s a nice, Napa like bistro. Our first serving was the cheese platter. This included fruit, chocolates, nuts, olives, raisins, crackers and different slices of cheese. My friend’s boyfriend got the Zinfandel, which she liked and bought a bottle. I forgot what my husband got. All I remember is that it was red wine. I got the mango mojito. After our cheese platter, we picked our entrees. My husband and my friend got the Taste of Italy crêpe, I got the Classic Crêpe and my friend’s boyfriend got a panini. I’ve never had a savory crêpe but it tasted good. The Classic Crêpe had ham and Swiss inside the crêpe with sauce. It was too salty for me afterward though. The Taste of Italy was filled with marinara sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms, mozzarella and Italian sausage. Basically think of a pizza in a crêpe. My friend and husband finished the platter so it must have been good. My friend learned that there was a movie night on Mondays and Girls Night Out on Wednesday. Both start after happy hour(6pm). For the movie night, you follow them on Facebook or Twitter to find out what the movie selection is. My friend and I plan to check this out. Overall, it’s a nice place to hang out with friends.

I can here with my fiancé on Valentine’s day this year, it was after dinner and he just proposed outside of Vida Y Vino; we were very happy and in a mood for some wine. When we went in, they told us that they were doing the Valentine’s special for full meals with wine paring event; although we just ate but we accepted the full meal. The waitress and the manager were very friendly and nice, they did offer to charge us for one person only since we only wanted the wine tasting. However, we didn’t mind to pay the full meals, so we had them pack the foods to-go. The wine tasted alright, probably not the best selections(the one we drank) there but not bad neither. We do want to go back there for their other wine selections in the future though. Overall, a very nice place to chill at and highly recommended if you’re into wine and looking for a place to hang out in Fremont.

Cute little wine bar in Fremont! If you want to stay local and want a non-franchised Happy Hour, this is a good spot. My bff and I started with the Cheese platter. The Cheese platter came with 2 choices of cheeses plus fruit, olives, nuts, chocolate, and crackers. Very filling! We also split a mini pesto pizza. Bummed they didn’t have Riesling at the wine bar :/Even with the HH discount, the bill still came to $ 40 for the food and one glass of wine each. The next table had a groupon so if I come back, I’ll look for that. Pretty good for Fremont. Cute ambiance.

Fremont doesn’t have too many places to hang out, so Vida y Vino is a great, charming place to kick back over a glass of wine with friends. The ambiance is cozy but it is located in a strip mall plaza so don’t expect anything over the top. Just a cute and simple ma and pop style business with some high-top tables, 3 community –style couches, and a small bar-like area with the«wine”-tender serving behind. The food items are okay — paninis, little pizzas, a cheese plate with crackers.etc. The cheese are not that exotic, just your typical Swiss/Cheddar/Brie selection. but they do go nicely with the wine. The wine selection is kind of scattered and all over the place. Sometimes I’m rather confused as to how to tackle the menu. They have wines I’ve never heard of .but then you see wines like V. Sattui for $ 100-$ 150+ a bottle, too. So, yes, they have a wide selection, but i feel like they’re trying to offer everything possible and in between(Napa wines, Italian and French wines, sparkling wines, high end wines, boutique wines, as well as cheap off-branded wines). Be careful with the $ 3-$ 5/tasting wines. I tried several Latin American varieties in those price ranges and they weren’t that great. Once you start to opt for more of the $ 10/glass range, the wines are safer and tend to be of higher caliber. They also have specials on weekdays. this makes for fun happy hours. Thursday offers ‘Thirsty Thursdays’ and their Sangria is only $ 5 a glass. Will certainly continue to come when I’m looking for something relaxing to do with good company =)!

Wow what a great little place! I’m impressed. Service was really good. I’m not a huge wine person and only favor a few whites, specifically reislings or moscatos so when I found out they didn’t have either I was a bit disappointed. But our server recommended a couple of decent substitutes and also allowed us to sample them. We liked a rosé we sampled but dang they were out of it. We arrived about 6ish on a Saturday night and it was pretty quiet. Lots of seating available and if it were summertime, it would have been really nice to sit outside. More clientele started coming around after 8pm and then the music got a little louder. We had the 2 cheese platter, with salami($ 2 extra), my friend had the soft chicken tacos(she’s allergic to gluten) and I had a chicken caesar, all pretty standard pairings with wine, I think. If you’re not from this area this place could be a bit hard to find. It’s stuck between a nail salon spa and a Citibank and it doesn’t face the street, plus the sign isn’t all that huge, so it is easily missed. But despite their small selection of wines and edibles, we’ll definitely come around again when we want to meet up for a night of wine-ing in this area. :)

On a Sunday afternoon, we were the only patrons of this wine bar. As we ate beforehand, we only wanted some wine. The worker(and perhaps owner) let us taste the riesling and the sauvignon blanc. We opted for a bottle of the Callaway sauvignon blanc( ). The menu claimed that it was from the Central Coast, but the bottle said Manteca, which was interesting. We enjoyed this wine, and at $ 28, it was a good deal! I was surprised to learn that this place has been around for four years. I always saw it when I used to live around the area, but never stepped in until just this week! A great find!

This is one of those places I had to make a point of coming to. Passing it occasionally and noting that I needed check it out simply got old. It just seemed right for an afternoon with a friend who«finally found a babysitter.» The appetizers undoubtedly need some more investigation. The goat cheese with marinara was an incredible, creamy delight. Plus, they didn’t even blink an eye when we asked for more baguette slices to polish the sauce off. The staff was knowledgeable and willing to share some of that knowledge. We decided upon a flight of all the ones we hadn’t tasted before, such as the Spanish table wine and a flavorful South African blend. It definitely seems to be the sort of place that you could quickly become a regular at. As soon as other parties were walking through the door their favorite bottle was ready for them and I have a special appreciation for spots where everyone knows your name.

Do you know what Fremont is known for? Think really hard everyone! Oh that’s right… absolutely nothing(except for it was where Kristi Yamaguchi went to school and was suppose to be the new home for the A’s, both of which are not exciting). ALAS! Fremont finally decided to get itself moving up in this world and added this delightful place. The service is impeccable and my girlfriends and I love coming her when we are too lazy to venture out of our hometown. The bruschetta is hands down the best bruschetta I have ever had. The wine selection is quite large and they have different size pours at affordable prices. Now whenever I go to Fremont, I try to make it here to hang out and catch up with friends.

Ahh who knew a quaint little place in Fremont could be packed with so much fun? Came here on several occasions and always had fun enjoying the variety of wines they serve here. The people behind the counters definitely know their stuff so looking for a wine suitable to our taste was never a problem. My girlfriends love coming here for a low-key night out. Gets us a little buzzin’ without the crowds and obnoxious drunkards like in downtown! Thank goodness! They have different size pours that allowed me to try something before I decided to go all out and buy a bottle. However I’d skip out on the food as it’s very mediocre. Perfect place for a night of catching up with the girlies :)

A cozy intimate atmosphere with nice decorations. Live band when we came here on friday night. It was a crowded night, no tables and the bar area were all taken. So we sat on one of the couches and they were comfortable. Service was ok. Food came slower then the wines. Only 3 staffs. Yummy 2 cheeses platter with dried fruits, crackers, honey, vinegar with oil, fresh fruits, and baguette. The cheddar and tomato grilled panini was delicious and cheesy. I really liked the Chenin Blanc and Malbec. The white Sangria was light and refreshing. There’s a nice list of wines/sparkling/cocktails/beers to choose from. Prices are decent. Happy hour weekdays sometime in the late afternoon till 6?

Absolutely love this place! There’s not really much to do in Fremont(besides eat, of course), so when my friends and I are bored and just want some place to relax and do some shit chat, this little joint is usually one of our top picks. The place is small, but it gives it an intimate feel. I like how they have a patio outside so when the weather’s nice, you can have a glass of wine out in the sun. The lady working there was very nice in explaining and recommending wines to us, and was very generous in letting us sample the different wines before we decided on which one to get. A great place to come for happy hour or on the weekdays. Oh, and the cheese platter is a must. Wine paired with cheese, what more could you ask for?

Service was friendly and opened pretty late for a Fremont joint. They have a decent selection of wine and they had movie night to keep the patrons entertained in what I thought was a pretty slow night we happened to come by. I hope they work on improving the crepes. I was pretty disappointed with it but regardless we ate it along with their cheese/fruit platter.

Love the ambiance! It’s so cozy and relaxing. A couple of my coworkers and I came here for lunch. It was very awkward experience at first because we walked in, it seemed like there was a private party happening because EVERYONE from that table turned their heads to us at once. We walked back out but noticed another couple walk in. So then we walked in and realized that they were still open for lunch but there was only one server and he was in the back. It was a hot HOT day so we contemplated sitting outside under the umbrella but the umbrella was broken. The server moved the other heavy umbrella to our side but then we were indecisive punks and decided to sit inside. Luckily, he was still very nice about it all! We ended up sitting in the lounge area with the couches. In front of each seat, there’s a baby ottoman with a wooden board on top so you easily eat on it. So comfy! There’s even a flat screen TV which wasn’t turned on. To add to the ambiance, there was one of those pianos that play music by itself. Too bad it only played two songs over and over again! To start off, I had the Passionfruit Mojito(made with sparkling wine) and it was so yummy! You need to stir it though because the alcohol and juice were in distinctly different layers. Once stirred, it is so refreshing to drink! Fruity and not overly sweet by any means. I couldn’t really taste the mint or lime juice but this wasn’t your traditional mojito so I assumed that there was none in it(correct me if I’m wrong). For food, I split a Chicken/Pesto/Swiss panini and The Italian crêpe with a friend. The pesto in the panini was very mild(almost absent) and the foccacia was VERY crisp. Overall, it was a bit bland. Comes with gourmet chips though that taste homemade! The crêpe was filled with sausages(which seemed like hot dogs) and pepperoni. The mozarella was the best part because you could tell they were fresh slices. It’s a bit steep for $ 11 each. In the women’s bathroom, they have this Pomegranate Body Mist that smells SOGOOD! I went to the bathroom twice. I’d come back for the drinks! I want to try more bubbly drinks(that they use sparkling wine in) like the Sangrias, Martinis, etc. Plus they have tons of other wines from many other countries on their menu! Food? Not so much. Service? Great!
