Daily Grill

Manager did not honor happy hour drink specials because of size of our party (17 people). No bottomless momosa’s. Advertised Sunday brunch but no Sunday brunch. Took an hour before order finally came.

One of the most enjoyable restaurants we have been to in Fresno. The filet mignon was incredible. You have to try the skin on mashed potatoes with garlic and spinach. The Mahi-​mahi was perfect. The service was great. We will definitely be a regular.

Love this place! The atmosphere & the best bar tenders ever! Happy Hour is great. A must go to!

Positives: Great bar and drinks. The ambiance and décor is nice. Service from servers and bussers is attentive.
Cons: Entrée items are not high quality. On two separate occasions my food has been served luke warm. Today I sent my salmon back to have them put it back on the grill because 1) it was still raw inside and 2) it was served almost cold. My husbands French toast was served almost cold as well. Since it had been sitting for a while, the berry compote poured on the bread had already made it soggy and started to crust over. My mom’s omelette was piping hot though so it appears ours was made long before hers and we got it all at the same time. Maybe one of the servers took the wrong order from the kitchen and so the rest of us had to wait for a new one to be cooked? Not sure but after waiting for a ½ hour for our food… it was disappointing (We understand that Mother’s Day is very busy so it’s hard to be perfect so we won’t complain about some of the other turn offs).
Months ago on a separate visit I ordered a scallops dish that I wasn’t happy with either. It wasn’t hot and the portion size was small and they weren’t pan seared… they were presented a little chewy. It’s hard to prepare scallops well but there are indicators of a solid scallop dish. It should have a little brown (seared) on the outside but moist and fresh tasting on the inside.
Also, I don’t recall this ever being an issue before so I think it’s just an individual issue rather than a reflection of the restaurant as a whole… but today the hostess was not helpful or friendly. When customers walked in they were not greeted immediately and had to walk up to her and stand in front of the booth and make eye contact before she’d give them any attention. Just didn’t get a welcoming vibe. If you want to charge mid range restaurant prices, the first person greeting people should be sure everyone coming in feels welcome and that they are being accommodated.
The 2 stars is being given for the food. Service from servers would be a 4 and if you’re just popping in for happy hour, the offerings and drinks would be a 5.

Went to lunch here with some co-​workers on a Friday. Was not terribly busy. Ordered the Mahi mahi and waiter says «Oh good its a nice small size, would you like to order the Brown rice and asparagus with that as well?» Pretty much implying «you’re chubs better make it a light meal» I let it go.
He takes my plate away and says «wow looks like you must have enjoyed it» this was strike 2 I mean really? I paid $ 20 for my damn lunch believe I’m going to eat it all ok. Pretty offended doubt I’ll go back. Fish was not all that great anyway…

So this is my story… mv fav spot of 18 years finally closed it’s doors so I’m looking for a new home. Haven’t decided yet if this is it. Got some Chicken Pot pies for take out a week or so ago and it was a disaster… so why a 5 star review?
Well we’re sticking solely with the Bar area as of now. Comfy, clean and not too pricey. However the real justification behind the 5 stars is the staff… Made me feel like a regular on my first visit, already know my name and what my beverage of choice is. Good attitudes and accomplished bartenders. Let’s name some names, that’s right I wrote them down!

The food was excellent as always. We were there to taste the items on the menu at my daughter’s rehearsal dinner. The glazed salmon was amazing. I was afraid there would be too much glaze but it was light and added a hint of flavor. The Grill Burger is huge and very good. The only problem we had was that one of the other items on our rehearsal dinner was unavailable that night even though it is on the regular menu. We were disappointed. The service was attentive, the manager knew the details of our event so we were impressed.

Great food great service! Make sure you check your bill before you sign though. This was my second time that they have added something to my bill that I didn’t order. Once they actually charged me a $ 5 service fees after I paid. The only reason I knew about it is because I used my corporate card to pay for dinner and had to reconcile at the end of the month. For and service is good though

After driving by this place hundreds of times, finally ate here on a rare date date night with my husband. Service was above and beyond. But the food. .. less than satisfactory given the prices they charge. My husband had the Moroccan spiced chicken. He bit into several small bones. The sauce was tasteless. I had the pan-​grilled chicken. It was fine but salty. I didn’t finish the quinoa because it too was salty. I believe each of our plates was around 20 bucks. I don’t think we’ll go here again.

Had dinenr here with my co-​workers for our regular Friday night outings, very nice atmosphere and friendly service. They accommodated our large oarty quiet well, even though our reservations were list in translation. But overall good food and service, nothing much to complain about. Oh wait yes their brownie dessert was served cold and it would of been much better if the brownie was hot and nelted the ice cream away. But that wouldnt decrease star rating i give this place by much. 3 ½ stars almost 4, but this doesnt let me do half stars.

Well we arrived at 10:15 am and requested patio seating. We were told the patio was booked until 11:30 am for the Sunday brunch. There were three parties seated in about a twelve table area so we took the inside seating. Within the 50 minutes it took to be served and eat we observed only one additional party being seated in the patio. Upon closer examination from the outside view there were only four parties seated in the patio area leaving approximately eight open tables. That’s silliness and someone needs to train these hosts on how to better judge. Stupid stupid stupid not to know how to provide superior customer service. Plus the food was just okay. I would scratch this off my list of preferences. Elbow Room would have been a better option! Our server was great but didn’t compensate for the lack of hollandaise sauce and hard poached egg!

We met friends here and only had drinks and appetizers. So three stars for good service and cold beer. the appetizers were good, but a little pricey. But I think you’re paying for the ambiance. Perhaps we’ll come again and do dinner and I’ll update my review, but for now, I think Daily Grill is A-​OK.

Come here for drinks every couple weeks with my boyfriend or friends, happy hour is amazing! And the service is always on point! Tonight we had a bartender named, Matt he was great, got us pickle juice for our whiskey shots and was very warm and welcoming.

Next time you are at DG and John Palacios… JP… Is tending bar. Have a Cucumber Martini… best in the West… He makes an awesome. refreshing

The service at the bar and food was delicious! Matt the bartender was a great host and have us outstanding service! Will definitely recommend his service to others and will be returning.

I was in Fresno the other day and didn’t know what to have for lunch. So I decided to check out Unilocal.Since I was in the area, this place came up. I read the reviews and they looked good, so I have it a shot. And I must say, they were on point. I was fortunate enough to get Matt as my server. I told him about how I found the place, and my expectations were high. Long story short, he exceeded them. His recommendations were good and his service is top notch. I had the calamari appetizer and chicken pot pie. He did warn me, it wasn’t your average pot pie. Haha I’ll definitely be back!!!

Great food, great service, large portions! Jeremy was awesome!
Food was fresh, we could not finish our meals. Ribs were hanging off both sides of my plate and the lamb was so tasteful! Raisin coconut bread pudding was out of this world! Will be coming back!

I love this place! It has a great ambiance, not too loud, good lighting. Try the wild salmon.
I’ve been to the bar a few times, but last time I went the bartender was inattentive (bald guy, can’t remember his name) so we got a table inside.
The service inside is wonderful, they answer your menu questions and are super friendly (Gracie was the person who helped us).

I ordered the Moroccan Spiced Chicken. The description is what sold me. «Grilled chicken skewer, seasoned with turmeric, paprika, garlic, and cumin, served with grilled vegetables, herb brown rice, arugula and tzatziki sauce.» It’s listed as low calorie and gluten free on the menu. Gluten isn’t an issue for me, but the low calorie part should’ve tipped me off. Everything was bland. The rice, chicken and of course the arugula. Even the tzatziki sauce couldn’t save it as it was sadly bland too. I like raw, plain vegetables, but for some reason I wasn’t expecting to get half of my meal in raw arugula. No dressing or flavor additive to be found for it. I felt like a rabbit gnawing on all that arugula. The chicken was kind of dry and overcooked and the tzatziki sauce couldn’t help it either.
I did get a Razzmary Mule for happy hour so that was the plus side to this bland meal.

Daily grill an upscale chain restaurant. They serve home style American food with some class. The food is always up to par, I’ve never had a bad meal.
The bar area (my area) is great. You can sit at the bar or at a table in the bar area. They have great happy hour and a large selection of wine. They are always rotating their happy hour wines and are adding the newest trendiest cocktails.
Staff is always on point and pleasant.
