Spaghetti in orange paint disguised at chow mein. No thanks. Aside from the old food that’s been there at the beginning of time, you get constant looks from the employees because they hate when I fill my box with food, the food that I’m paying for. And I’ve come here a few times, over a few years. Nothings changed.

I’ve been here a couple of times. Both times the food was really fresh unlike most bigger more known buffets here in town the food can be known to sit on the buffet line for a while. The price is very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. At most buffets everything on the buffet line tends to all taste very similar and at Great Moon Buffet I can honestly say each dish has its own Individual flavor profile. If you’re in the mood for some good Chinese food from a buffet then give these guys a try. One thing I was very impressed with was I wanted some deep fried sushi and the made some for me fresh wow pretty cool right. I only gave 4 Stars because the crab legs are pretty wimpy but everything else was pretty tasty and satisfying

Good price a very wide variety of food. Good service.
Certainly not the best chinese food but for the price you really can’t be asking for that. The 5.50 take away box is even better for a graduate school student like me. Can easily settle 2 meals with 5.50usd. As cheap as cooking yourself. Of course you don’t eat chinese 365 days a week.

Been here twice. Food’s alright.
You get what you pay. Paying 5 – 8 dollars I didn’t expect much out of it. I was right. It wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be, but for 5 – 8 dollars it’s worth it I guess.
Kind of dirty. Some food were cold. Some food looked old. Disappointed and probably won’t go there for a third time.

Great buffet very consistent with the quality been going here for 4 years now. It’s hands down the Best Chinese buffet in fresno as good as it gets. Best times to go are between 12pm-1:30 and 5:30

Not a place of my choice. Too expensive for the quality of the food. It resembles the food from the cherry auction.
I spent more here than at the Dog House Grill (awesome food)

A nice priced Chinese buffet lunch and includes your drink. The taste of the food is good. They might not have shrimp when we went but the different types of chicken were good. It has the basic Chinese buffet items. It is smaller scale than other buffets but you can’t beat the lunch price. If you’re expecting Lin Fusion décor don’t go but cheap decent lunch buffet this is your place and I will be back for more.

I went here this past December for the first time and it’s an «okay» buffet. For the price you pay, it’s not bad. The food tasted like your normal buffet style food. There’s not much variety to choose from compared to the bigger buffets but they do have your basic dishes like chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, beef and broccoli and so forth. They have some fruits, desserts and sushi, not a great variety though but it’s not bad. The restaurant itself is smaller than most, it looks like a cute family owned restaurant which it is. There’s no special decorations or anything. It’s an okay buffet to visit if you’re on a budget.

Great service! Arrived at the buffet late on a Saturday evening around 8:00pm, no other guests were around, thought was a bad sign. Boy, i was wrong. We were a group of six, three adults and three kids. Quite a few fresh entries were made after we arrived and the waiter even came over and told us whenever one fresh was made. Variety was good and foods were good particularly when freshly made! The drinks were attended very well and kept full.

Did a to go plate, food was pretty good! Just a little disappointed on the selections :/​other than that i was satisfied with what i got :)

I went into this restaurant with an associate of mines. He tells me that people he works with always come into this restaurant. With that, I was hoping that this little place would stand out as authentic.
Unfortunately, I was wrong. The buffet was a disaster. It is a plea far from the word help. As if life couldn’t get any worse, this place has replaced that word in the dictionary.
The food seemed like it has been sitting there for hours. The bbq looked stale, the California rolls wasn’t so bad but it could have been better. For $ 5, it was a waste. If the place was to cash in on the warm cooked food aspect that has not been sitting there for hours, then yes maybe it would have been a three star.
A one star doesn’t cut it since it has to have at least a star. I wouldn’t have written this review as it was a waste of my time. I just wanted to warn others of the taste, over dated (meaning hours) food.

This buffet was pretty disappointing!
First of, when we walk in there was only 2 people we should’ve seen this as a bad sign.
Second the soda machine messed up and they gave us fizzing water.
Third of, the place was dirty! The table we were seated at was dirty as well! I expected it to be clean since the place was empty they had plenty of time to clean it.
The worst thing about this was that there was a hair on our cheese crab meet!!! That was sooooo disgusting!!! After that we couldn’t take it anymore and we left. After telling the lady at the register if we could have a refund or something she just gave us $ 1 back!
This was such a bad experience! We will be sure to not go back!

Very clean, price 9.95 includes drinks, small selection but eveythingvis fresh and good. Great take out price $ 5 for a box no seafood tho but this worth it. Fast service and I can’t wait to go back. My favor is their sushi

Ok, I’ve been back.
It’s still pretty decent food quickly for a very decent price. To the point that I’d go back again. I just miss the previous owners. The current owners seem pretty nice, just not in the same ways…

Do not go. This place is done. OG owners left to move to NY, new people had the thermostat at 85, and the food is now sub par.
Used to be suprisingly good for a chinese buffet. Now its off out radar, I wont go back.

About a year ago, this place became the Great Moon Buffet (the last owners folded due to the forgettable food which is probably why I can’t remember the old name).
Anyways, this placed absolutely rocked! The dishes offered were absolutely delicious. I loved the chow mein, mushroom chicken, hot and sour soup. Please note I am purposely using THE PAST TENSE. They WERE good. It became wildly popular.
About 3 weeks ago, I noticed the entire staff change. The two sisters who ran the place were nowhere to be seen. The coupons were gone. And worst of all, the food began its decline. All (ALL) of the items I mentioned above are noticeably worse.
Fast forward to today; the Kikkoman soy sauce at the tables have all been replaced by cheap chinese stuff (they scratched off the Kikkoman logo). Before, you could request any sushi and they’d promptly make it for you. Now they refuse to do so and put fruit in it (gross). They don’t turn in the air and I was literally sweating during lunch. A lady complained how hot it was and they insisted the air was on… It was horrible…
Sadly, I’ve witnessed the death of this place; at least I’m my mind… It’s a shame really. I told so many people how good this place was… Now I tel them to avoid it like the plague…

The Great Moon buffet is, for the price, the best Chinese Buffet in Fresno. I’ve been a handful of times and have always been pleased with the selection and the service– that is, for the fact that my girlfriend and I eat there with two soda pops for under $ 20.
The food’s freshness is hit and miss, although never to the point where I wouldn’t eat it for fear of my health. We’ve been only when they were relatively slow and I imagine that during busier hours the food will always be fresh.
The food’s taste, however, is where they get you! The food, for a buffet, is fantastic. All of the meats and their sauces from Garlic, Orange or Teriyaki Chicken to Broccoli Beef– it is all great. They also have rolls, none of which I have tried yet, and some delicious seafood that I feel would be top notch if I had gotten to it when it was perfectly fresh.
Very much worth a shot!

Very friendly staff. Kid friendly eatery. It’s a buffet (which I like) so food is mass produced. It’s very good food for a buffet and reasonably priced which is my priority feeding 3 kids and two adults. I liked it.
