Oh my god, where to begin. As soon as I walked into this low budget establishment, I was greeted by very unprofessional teen workers who I could hear saying some very disturbing things (I.e. Show looks hot; that dude looks like a f*g). Along with this, I found the food to taste relative to that of an elementary school’s lunch. The Mac n Cheese tastes like someone hacked all of their phlegm into a bowl of noodles. Their desserts are exactly what I would imagine cow manure would taste like: crappy. The only good thing here was the Icee machine, which only one machine was working when I was there, as the only working machine spit out a blob of red goo that in no way resembled an Icee. The bathrooms were very clean and well kept, however, which makes sense given that all this food will give you indigestion and you won’t be able to use the bathroom for weeks, so why would anyone need to use the restroom? This «establishment» (if you could even call it that) should be avoided at all costs. If I could rate this 0 stars I would.

Never coming back. The friendly environment may be deceiving as school cafeteria food may be better quality. I was very disappointed because all the food looked so good. Everything seemed to be microwaved and there were bits of other foods mixed together with others. The only thing I appreciated was the unlimited ICEEs. Service was dull and the tables weren’t entirely clean. Disgusting. The dessert was all cake items with cheap frosting as they tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. I don’t suggest anyone to eat here. I never expect much from a buffet style place, but this is simply f***** up.

Basically friendly… Accommodating for larger groups… Great for separate checks! Food is decent for a buffet.

Food was undercooked and nothing taste good, bread was the only good this along with the ice cream but a waste of $ 36 for my family to eat. We will never go here again and I’d advise you not to waste your money here

Me and my family went there for breakfast today. The cook at the omelette was so rude. I tried to get some mushroom and there wasn’t a spoon in there, so, I grabbed one from the onions container and got some mushrooms then he yelled at me and said «You can’t go over to get the spoon. Some people allergic to mushroom .» Well, he should have left the spoon I used in the mushroom container and get his lazy ass to go get another spoon for onions container instead of being rude to customers. Bad experience ever. He should have put a spoon in the mushroom container in the first place anyway. Never again going there.

We haven’t eaten at Hometown Buffet since last family gathering for Sunday Brunch (at least 8 months ago). The interior appeal looks about the same after remodeling, but the colorful plates and plastic cups change the entire atmosphere, from contemporary back to dull.
We got the Groupon deal so decided to try their dinner tonight. The food serving presentations have changed from rectangle stainless to different styles of cooking saucepan. They look somewhat unorganized, and the varieties of food are not as many as before. The dessert station is little disappointed, my favorite of sugar free chewy cookie is not there. The only sugar free dessert they have is chocolate chips cookie and its crunchy texture like Oreo. No more yogurt. Only soft vanilla and chocolate ice cream. By the way, I like the taco station. Salsa, nachos, ground beef, cheese, lettece, onion. etc are good. Like the crispy thin triangle shaped corn chips very much. They made tasty fried chicken and fried okra. I tried soup but not good. Overall it’s alright for the price I paid for. Hope to see them to raise up the food quality.
The cashier ‘India’ is nice, she gave us a nice smile and warm greetings. Our table server ‘Jessie’ is friendly with caring. Keep up your Asian smile.

Food not all that great and the Senior Discount (4%) off the meal only is a joke. Most places offer 10% off or better. Need better, healthier offerings.

Hadn’t been to this place in years. They redecorated the inside, it looks really cute and a lot less cheap than it used to. Food is now served in smaller cuter dishes instead of the big troughs. Our server Jose was especially friendly and helpful. The price is pretty good, we got a coupon for $ 6.99 lunch, but the drinks are on the high side at $ 2.50. It lost a star because somebody lost their lunch right after eating there. It looked like someone had puked right outside the door in the gutter.

Hometown isn’t what it use to be. It used to be such a lively place when I was little. Now it’s dead and the food isn’t as great anymore. They remodeled but now the dishes are served on individual serving dishes so it dries out and no one picks those items. They charge extra if you want to drink something other than water which is ridiculous. Overall it’s gone downhill in the past couple years & the food is bland but I guess you get what you pay for.

We decided to have my in laws anniversary party here yesterday evening and it turned out pretty well. We reserved it for 6, but they let us come early to decorate the room and since there wasn’t a party after us in that room they let us stay past the 2hr time allotted so we stayed until about 10pm.
The decorations turned out nice and it was a nice affect that they had their Christmas lights up in the room (Picture below).
Although there was a party next to ours we really didn’t hear them with the partition wall. David, the manager that evening was very friendly and quickly had someone wipe off the tables that weren’t clean and brought us an extra table. He also checked on us often which was very nice. Tina, the server would come regularly and take our plates and was sweet. They were all very helpful especially considering that it was such a busy night for them.
The only draw back was how hot it was in the room. Although, they turned on the air conditioning for us it seemed to only air the party on the other side room. But we opened up the door and another partition on the other side of wall which seemed to allow a little air in. But all in all I would say it’s a great place to have a party at.

Less than impressed. We used to eat here periodically but it has gone down hill. Even the updated menu and new management have not helped. Food is luke warm and meats are generally overcooked. Less than impressed with changes. Prices also too high for quality of food that we got. Won’t be going there again.

Had a bad experience at another location, so I was hesitant on coming here, glad I came. The service was good, people were friendly and helpful, and the food was great! Loved the fish and the tartar sauce, better than Long John Silvers! The rotisserie chicken was good, but a tad greasy, and I got plenty of Orange bang! My husband liked the fried chicken and the mashed potatoes. We both didn’t like the hash brown casserole, it was a bit salty. We love this place, now we know where to go for some fish!

Went here for dinner recently and this place has gone down hill their food sucks I hope the one on west shaw hasn’t followed their foot steps

Food was ok, cleanliness of the serving areas could of been better. Salad bar was a disaster. Three star is my rating!

Hometown Buffett has a variety of foods. Chinese, Mexican, American.etc. I like the set up. It looks nicer. The food is delicious. Personally, I LOVE going to the breakfast on Friday and sat mornings. They have everything plus some. The only thing I can say is that they are a little pricey. But with delicious food and really nice staff you really can’t complain.

My wife a friend and I were at this location today around 1:30 pm. The restaurant was reasonably clean and the food looked good and there were many different foods available. However when I reached for my first plate I rejected it and the next two because they were dirty. Then when I was ready for dessert it was the same thing, the little dessert plates were also not clean I went through 4 plates before I found a clean one. The food for the most part is rather salty but I have found that in many other places. The little pot pie was actually quite good

Now I’ve been to Home Town before the ones in Fresno and Clovis. So the Clovis location has been a disappointment the past few times I’ve been there. I took my family (daughter and 3 grandkids) 8÷25÷14 for the kids first day back to school dinner. Thank goodness for coupons. It would have been close to $ 60 without them. Salty, salty, salty just about everything was salted to the max. The beef tips with mash were all grizzle and fat. I’m telling you we had 3 servings at the table and not one of us could get a bite of meat without grizzle in it. I got a cut of their sirloin which looked pretty good but two bites of meat and the rest was fat. Bring back the chicken livers. It was just disappointing.

Just went again for the first time in a very long time, and the food (I believe it was about $ 11 for the lunch buffet and unlimited drinks) was SO good! I loved everything I tried, and all the food was very tasty. Between my husband and I we tried the fried chicken, pot roast, chicken strips, salad bar, mashed potatoes and gravy, taco bar, etc. – YUM. My husband was laughing at me because I kept getting more & trying everything, but it all tasted so great! The only thing I didn’t care for was the cheesecake – the new recipe they are now using isn’t nearly as good. However, overall, a big thumbs up!
Oh and they redecorated as well. The new interior is so fresh and bright – I loved it!
P. S. Went back two days later and took our daughter and she loved it too – especially the Icee machine. :) We’ll be going back again!

For the price… it’s as good as it gets. There is always something there for everybody. Of course it’s a buffet so everyone will eat until they are satisfied whether that be after 1 plate or after 8 (I wont judge). Breakfast menu is pretty good (scrambled eggs, french toast, hash browns, omelet station, potatoes etc). I prefer lunch though because they bring out the desserts and they have meatloaf and veggies (delicious).
Salad bar, taco bar and fruit bar are always available. But let’s be honest… when you have pizza, fries and chicken available are you really going to fill up on melons and salads?
As for the drinks… theres soda, milk, horchata (mexican milk drink), orange juice, coffee, and some of those berry icees. I love their variety. Don’t come here if you’re expecting fine dining with a waiter checking up on you every 10 minutes. There are plenty more restaurants in the clovis/​fresno area that will offer that at a more expensive price. Come here IF YOU WANT TO EAT. Making all that stuff at home will cost more and at least here you won’t have to clean up all the mess that would go into otherwise making the dishes.
