KC is the man! The service can lack here and there but the sushi makes up for it! Always fresh, always something new on the menu. And if you can’t decide, just leave it up to the pros behind the bar! Take a seat, have a drink and get ready to have your tastebuds mesmerized!

I’ve been to Sake Toro too many times to count and I’ve always really enjoyed it. I work close by and have taken and recommended many people to eat here. Sadly dining here last night was terrible enough I will most likely never return. The waiter was very young and appeared completely clueless on how to wait tables. He took our drink order(there were 3 of us) — 2 of us ordered alcoholic drinks and waters to go with. He returned with the drinks but no waters. When he returned we put in our orders. They had put our orders together on one plate. I’m not sure why they did that as we weren’t sharing — so we had to split it up somehow. After our food was delivered we had to wait 10 minutes to eat because we didn’t have plates, cups for soy sauce, or wasabi & ginger. I had to get his attention to request these items along with the waters we were still missing. I also ordered another drink. The drink never came. This was the last time our waiter came to our table. When we finished our meal somebody did eventually come over to take a couple of plates away. The plates were dropped and broken — not a big deal but we were waiting patiently for the check since we realized we wouldn’t be getting the drink orders. We waited and waited and waited. I would say 20 – 30 minutes passed after our meal where we were staring down and raising our hands trying to flag down anybody at this point. Our original waiter would not make eye contact with us. We literally joked about getting up and walking behind the sushi bar to get one of the chefs to help us. I finally said«excuse me» really loud to another waitress. She seemed bothered I flagged her down but what else were we suppose to do? We told her how to split the check. The check came with the drink that was ordered and never received along with edamame? in which we had never ordered or received. I had to once again wait about 10 minutes before flagging down the girl and explaining there were items on the receipt we never ordered or received. There were no apologies — she acted as if we were simply trying to get out of paying for things. The 3 of us were terribly frustrated and disappointed upon finally getting to leave. Last night was a one star experience. I gave 2 stars because I have thoroughly enjoyed this place in the past.

Expensive? Yes. Delicious? Also yes. Good sushi always puts a dent in the ol’ pocket book but this place does a great job. It’s not very big, and the tables are crowded together, but the quality makes it worth it. I got to try a lot of different things off their menu. Miso soup — normal and good. Seaweed salad — very tasty, I liked the amount of sesame oil they used. Tuna — great Yellowtail — MUST get. So perfect and delicate. Octopus — Not my cup of tea, but my friend loves octopus and said it was good! Fresh Water Eel — Fantastic! Smelt Roe(with quail egg) — Super yummy. I love the way roe pops when you eat it! Escolar — Never had it before this place, but it was very light and tasty. Mackerel — IF you like it, make sure you save it until last. It’s such a strong tasting fish you’re not going to have anything after. We had the pearl sake with it and it was by far the best sake they offer. I know because we tasted several of them before finally choosing this one.(Thanks to the cool guy at the table next to us who let us try his!) I was a little disappointed because they were out of sea urchin that night which I really really wanted to try. Guess that means I’ll just have to drag my self back here to try it. Oh darn!

The atmosphere is great. The restaurant itself looks really nice and clean. However, the service my friend and I experienced today was horrible. We went around lunchtime and it wasn’t busy at all. Ordered drinks and two specialty rolls. after an hour, we finally got our waiter’s attention, and asked for our food to be boxed and our tab so we could just leave. She said she completely forgot about the two rolls we ordered. I don’t understand how you can forget we ordered food, especially when we only ordered just two rolls and the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. She did offer 10% off so we got a dollar or two off the entire order. Right after, I called back the restaurant to speak to a manager. It turns out the waiter who was serving us is the manager. She was unprofessional when I spoke to her. I explained she forgot our order. She should have noticed we hadn’t received our food yet, but she didn’t check on us at all during the 1+ hour we were there. She asked«What do you want me to do? I gave you 10% already. I will remember your face next time you visit». Other places would’ve offered a free plate or appetizer our next visit without us asking. However, she was no accommodating at all. Poor and unprofessional customer service completely ruins the restaurant’s overall appearance. The 4 star average review is deceiving!

This is a cute place in downtown Frisco. This review is for the sushi, alone. We sat at the sushi bar. Most sushi joints do not have any interesting options for vegetarians. This one does. If you’re a vegetarian, go here. Lots of delicious, unique options for us veggie folks.

Nice location off of Main Street. Love the ambiance. Prices a little high, but the sushi is excellent! Good lunch specials and daily specials. Excellent rolls! The only small complaints are that my beer was brought out without a glass, and a wrong roll was made for us… but they let us eat it lol!

First visit to Sake Toro, during the week and before any evening dinner rush. Wait staff and sushi master were genuinely friendly and cordial. Took the sushi master’s advice on one of their best spicy rolls and got the Sexy Mama. He also made a special spicy sauce which went very very well with it. Tasted fresh and was delectable. I got an Ultimate Veggie Roll to go. It was gone before the night was over. Savory combo of ingredients and flavors. I enjoyed the experience across the board and will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

Came in and was I a hurry… probably shouldn’t have said that. Food came pretty quick but rolls were falling apart. My eel roll tasted super fishy and I never got a glass of water until I had to flag down the waitress who was the only wait staff working the entire restaurants for my check. Ugh total waste of money… maybe an off day but all I know is I probably will never go back.

Service from the waiter was fine. Food came out all wrong. Wife’s sushi came out and mine came 30 minutes later. Avoiding this paver would be a good idea. The sushi was fair at best

Great location on Main Street. We enjoyed a variety of items include several signature sushi dishes. The over quality was good although the portions were smaller, I’d preferred quality. We also ordered the Udon noodle soup which by far was one of the best we’ve had in the area. Tasty broth with plenty of ingredients. Although the accompanied shrimp tempura was a bit cold. Overall, it was good. Here is rating break down. 4 — overall taste and flavor 3 — service was okay. Our server got one of the Sushi order wrong. Not much service after the food was served. It took a bit a work to get our waters refilled. 3.5 — atmosphere. 3 — pricing. It’s average on sushi items. The noodles dish was on the expensive side but again was well made.

Had a really fun time here. Got the hot peach sake, which was delicious. The ex-boyfriend is probably the most popular roll on the menu and for good reason. It’s creamy and fresh, the best crab I’ve had at a sushi place in DFW. All the fish tasted fresh and we even saw one of the sushi chefs hold up a giant tuna and begin carving into it for further proof! Overall one of the better sushi places I’ve been to. The menu could be broken up better it was hard to read and find what I wanted, which is the only reason this place doesn’t get a full 5 stars.

If you love Sushi and great seafood and high quality ingredients then this Sushi Rest is a must try! I love their rolls wrapped in cucumber! Lydia’s Roll and Viva Las Vega, add cream cheese and I guarantee you’ll be in heaven! Pure«eye rolling in the back of your head» experience!

Shocked at the poor presentation and service. No master sushi chef here… I understand that 2:00 pm is never great for service. But the assembly of the rolls is the weakest I’ve ever seen and that’s not time sensitive.

Great food! Lousy service, just like others have reported. Didn’t bring drinks or the bill till we flagged him down. Also I asked for Seafood Tempura & he brought Shrimp Tempura instead. Which was cheaper, so I had to flag him down again to say I was ok w/the shrimp, but wanted to be charged properly. Even so, For me, the food trumped the service, but that might have just been my mood for the day.

This is the best place to enjoy a payday. With great drinks, phenomenal sushi and the best chicken fried rice in Frisco. Won’t miss it every two weeks…

Atmosphere great! Servers pretty good. Very nice. Well… It is a restaurant. Food is not good. That is why i gave 2 stars. We ordered 2 rolls. Gyoza. And pork katsu. Overall all the food here is too salty. Rolls… Didn’t have enough rice. Rice was too soggy, and on top of that they had wet sauce on the plate that made sushi worse. Gyoza. Im pretty sure they didnt make that. It comes in a package. So it was pretty good. Just pan fried it. I prolly liked it better steamed. Pork katsu… I have never ever been to a japanese restaurant where they didn’t serve a bowl of rice, miso soup, and side salad with a meal like that. None of it came with the pork katsu. NONE! I had to ask for a bowl of rice. And the side came with the pork katsu was stir fried veggies. Very salty and greasy. Lastly, the pork itself!!! OMG. It was so dry. DRY!!! I can make better pork katsu at home than that. Overall. Bad bad experience. I prolly will not ever come back.

Overall experience was literally awful. The only reason why I’m giving this 5 stars is cause when the owner says«LACHERL» I laugh my ass off.

Great service, they were nice and polite. Food came out at a good time. Food was excellent! Everything tasted fresh and it’s the best sushi I’ve had in awhile. We got the crab volcano and it was delicious and it came out on a flaming clam shell! We also ordered the typical California roll and crunch roll, which was also good because it wasn’t dry and bland like other restaurants. We also got the sweet and spicy bento box, it was beyond satisfying. It was more than enough for 3 people to split. We finished with tempura ice cream, so goood.

My husband and I tried this place out for the first time today and we’ve found a new sushi go-to! The food was exceptional. My favorite was the Japanese Volcano and my husband liked the 007 the most. We also ordered Japanese Lasagne and a California roll. All four were delicious. The host/server was friendly. The price was fair compared to most other sushi places. It is a small dining room. We weren’t there during rush hour, but I can see how it would easily be crowded on a Friday or Saturday night with a wait. Overall a positive experience. We will be coming back and I recommend it!

We were in the neighborhood by chance that a grill out did not pan. All things happen for a reason. And this was the reason today. We walked this Frisco square perusing the restaurants in search for the ideal spot. We landed here at Sake Toro Sushi. The décor is appropriate and the space is just right, intimate enough yet welcoming. We decided to go with a popular item, the Ex-Boyfriend. It’s shrimp tempura, avocado, cream cheese topped with crab meat and spicy mayo. It’s 13.95 and comes with about 8 healthy pieces. This was a worthy dish. Worth choosing and worth mentioning. For entrée, we went with the Salmon Teriyaki combination dinner. It was so beautifully presented in this red lunch plate — like dish. It came with Gyoza dumplings, shrimp and veggie tempura(one of my all time faves), salad and steamed rice. It was wonderful!!! I also ordered a side of veggies which was also delicioso. It was a mix of asparagus, carrots, and other veggies perfectly seasoned. Teo of us split everything and it perfectly hit the spot. We were tempted to get another roll to go and eat it on the way to our next spot but we too must have limits. Moderation. All in all so glad we came. Bill totaled 44.27 with the roll, the dinner and sauteed veggies. Water to drink. Nice! Highly recommended by yours truly!
