The staff is friendly and courteous, quite happy to refill coffee during morning meetings over some of the best hollandaise sauce available.

Everything on the menu is terrific and can be made-to-order. The service is even better. Although expect a wait on weekend mornings, since it is a pretty popular place. I wish there coffee was a little better, but overall it can hardly be beat.

I’ve been eating here since 1995 until I moved. They have always been consistent with food and service. My favorite dish was the Cambridge skillet with poached eggs and the hollandaise on the side. It is still my go to but I’ve tried other dishes since 1995. Can’t go wrong with any skillet or frittata. The Greek frittata is delicious with crispy bacon on the side. The porridge is made just right. But if you’re going to eat at egg and I, eat something with eggs. Parking was a problem on the weekends. I recommend calling ahead for a table.

Breakfast and the wait staff are wonderful here. I also love the pumpkin spice coffee.

Absolutely wonderful food with a cozy atmosphere. I got the Huevos Rancheros which was amazing! I would definitely come back again and refer it to anyone who’s looking for a breakfast joint.

At least I can get fabulous omlettes here. Would be nice if they could perfect gluten free banana walnut pancakes.

I think it was basically a breakfast foodie outings I did when I was in Colorado. Breakfast was amazing everywhere but lunch and dinner spots weren’t as great. Egg & I was one of the spots we went to. The food was great. I wasn’t a fan of the coffee. I barely finished it. I ordered the crab cake eggs benedict. It was so good. Crab cakes were made to perfection. The potatoes was so delicious. I couldn’t stop eating it. Definitely a good local spot to eat at if you are in the area.

Excellent service! Called ahead for reservation which helped with the wait. Attentive service and the food was excellent. Coffee was a little weak and for $ 2.79 per cup(bottomless) I expect better. Staff was friendly and efficient.

Their BLT was delicious! Their taco salad was just okay. Cute place, but a little over priced for what it is.

Best breakfast around. Busy on Sundays, so prepare for a short wait. Worth it though.

SMALL portions. Really small. I left feeling very hungry. Coffee is mediocre. Gravy for the biscuits and gravy is par for chain restaurants(white, cream gravy without any flavor). I would recommend people seek out something else unless they like institutional cooking. It was like a cross between campus dorm food and a Perkins.

The Egg & I is something of a Fort Collins institution … when I first moved here lo so many years ago it really was THE place for breakfast in town. In the ensuing years a number of other good breakfast spots have entered the scene, but The Egg and I remains a top option if you’re looking for a basic, egg-based breakfast. Caffeine freaks will be gladdened to know that they’ll bring you an entire carafe of coffee. There are a number of eggs benedict variations(my usual order, since poached eggs and hollandaise sauce are not in my home cooking repertoire) and the house-brand hot sauce on the table will add a nice kick to everything on your plate. Service is very friendly … last time I was there, I let the hostess know I was meeting a friend that was bringing a newborn — she gave us a huge corner booth big enough to seat 6 so there would be plenty of room for the baby’s car seat, diaper bag, and all the paraphernalia that goes along with taking a baby anywhere, despite it being fairly busy at lunch hour. Although it is now franchised around Colorado(if not further afield) this location truly has the feel of a local business, one well worth supporting.

The whole staff here seemed to be distracted. Nice enough in demeanor, but not«all there.» From the get-go, we were disappointed with the lackadaisical manner we were greeted. It was a simple, «Hi, hold on a minute.» I understand if things get busy during peak hours, but one should always be welcomed properly whether it’s their first visit or thousandth visit. This was our first time to the Egg & I. Our waitress only checked on us once. Her people skills can improve so much on so many levels. It felt like she was rushed and ready for us to get out of there. Don’t come here unless you love it and are willing to pay lots for a meal. The quality of the food had much to be desired as well. Denny’s or Norms restaurant(back home where I come from in California they have Norms; not sure if they have those here in Colorado,) sadly are better than this place. Less pricey as well.

After being cooped up on the CSU campus for a week, it was nice to see what Fort Collins was all about. Before our 12 hour drive back to Las Vegas, we decided to have a good hearty meal. The Egg & I was just the place for that. A quaint place, with a very welcoming and nice staff, definitely owned by locals, and a place filled with locals. As you can guess, we got looks, mostly wondering what we were, since we didn’t look like your typical Colorado resident. Enough of the that. On to the important stuff. Since we got there when breakfast was mostly over, I decided to get the thai wrap. Probably one of the better wraps I’ve had. Filled with chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, a a thai peanut sauce. The sauce was very peanutty, if that’s a word, but you get the idea. Added a very nice thai flavor to the wrap, but it’s just one of those types of food you can’t finish because it’s too much. But what I really enjoyed was their chicken & tortilla soup. That was probably one of the best soups I have ever had. The soup had just enough creaminess, added with the melted cheese, and bite size tortilla strips added to it. it was heavenly. I’ll even admit of being a fatty by getting a second cup. If I could do it all over again, I would definitely stop by Egg & I.

While I wouldn’t say that the food was poor, it simply wasn’t great. The food reminded me of dennys or ihop. Decent portions but also fairly pricey. Staff: friendly. In Ft. Collins, you would be better off eating at Snooze where you can get better food(organic and nitrate free!) for the same price point.

The egg and I, is a restaurant with friendly waitresses. It’s pretty busy in there during lunch hour. I can’t say I really like the place, nothing really stood out. We all went for lunch, so this isn’t a review for breakfast. We shared the soup and sandwich, which was okay. It was a huge bowl of baked potato soup, which is a lot different than most places that give you a tiny cup of soup. For $ 10, for soup and ½ sandwich, it was a little more than most places. It was packed in there during lunch hour, so I am assuming people like it.

We have been here for breakfast twice now, and have left very pleased each time. Very friendly staff. We like that you get your own water and coffee carafe, left at your table. There are some unique dishes, as well as the basics.

One of my good friends lives in Boulder, and there’s an Egg & I Restaurant near him there as well. We’ve made it a Sunday morning tradition to visit whichever one is closer when we’ve hit the town on the night before. No matter which location we visit, which waitress serves us, how awake we are, or how much we wish that pounding headache would subside, the food quality is always above par, the service outstanding, and the wait time minimal to nonexistent. That last one is the most impressive, considering the fact that this is also the rush hour for the«getting out of church» crowd. A big bravo goes to this location as well as to the overarching management that keeps the quality of customer experience consistent no matter where the service is rendered. Definitely try the veggie Benedict. It’s *revolutionary* haha!
