This place is closed! Don’t purchase deals! Drove by and noticed that they were closed for business. There is not a current business there at this time.

Closed for vacation? Bs! Someone reviewed over a week ago that they were closed, and they still were last night when I ordered… waited an hour and a half to find out they were«unresponsive» a sign in the window, but their phone just rings. That’s how you notify people? Not a voice mail or maybe even contacting Unilocal/eat24 to suspend orders? Something’s fishy…

Took my online order delivery order and waited an hour. I wondered if there was a problem in delivering my order so I tried calling the phone number on their website and it was disconnected. I drove to the restaurant and they have a sign that they are closed for a few days for vacation. Not sure if they intend to stay in business but I hope I can get my money back.

My husband and I went to Moon Wok many months ago when we received a menu in the mail advertising their presence in downtown Fullerton. The food is delicious, but they actually add MSG to their food on top of the MSG already present in sauces. I had too much hot and sour soup(YUM!) and started to feel tightness in my upper abdomen, then numbness in my throat and cheeks. As I clutched my abdomen and made a face of utter discomfort, one of the owners came over to ask what was wrong, and when I asked if they add MSG, he said they didn’t. A food server quickly informed him that they actually do. Then, he said they add just a little and went on to explain that MSG is present in all restaurant ingredients and is unavoidable. I explained that I am fine with a little MSG in sauces, but I can tell when it’s added to food because I get tightness in my chest, neck, and fact, but the effects wear off after a little while. He expressed concerned over my reaction, yet he kept going on about how MSG is in everything, that it’s in all ingredients in restaurants. He even admitted that he had been feeling similar symptoms from eating their food and had to cut down the number of times he ate at his own restaurant! He must have thought that talking to me would help, but it really didn’t. He kept justifying their use of MSG, all while I’m feeling that uncomfortable tightness in my torso and face and I really didn’t want to hear it from him. I reiterated that passive amounts in sauces are fine, but intentionally added, it causes a reaction in me. He seemed to want to believe in MSG as a way of doing business because he kept on talking about how everyone uses it. I was surprised that a new establishment with a clever, quirky name like«Moon Wok,» that advertises, «Everything made fresh! Nothing reheated» and that has vegetarian items on the menu would use MSG. Seemingly progressive, I would think they would avoid adding MSG to their food. Unless they stop adding MSG to their food, I will not go back. Meanwhile, if you have no reaction whatsoever to MSG, by all means, go to Moon Wok. They have good service and the food is delicious. That’s because they use MSG.

We just tried Moon Wok tonight for the first time. We were hoping we finally found a great Chinese food place, but it wasn’t so. The food is a bit overpriced for what you get. We ordered the Moo Shoo Pork, Hunan Beef, and sautéed vegetables. The Moo Shoo did not come with any sauce to put on the top. That was disappointing and it was a bit dry. The Hunan Beef had a good flavor, but the portion size was very small – there was not much beef at all. The vegetables were really good and the sauce they were in was tasty. Lastly, after ordering the three dishes, we were told that it didn’t come with any rice and did we want to add some. This is the first time I have ever ordered Chinese Food and didn’t get rice with it.

Very tiny restaurant deeply obscured from the main thoroughfare. Actually tucked in an alley off of Commonwealth @ Harbor. Kind of tough to find. I parked a couple of blocks away and walked down… I imagine this would make quite a treasure hunt at night. The service was exceptional! A very sweet younger girl who was very attentive and eager to please! The food was good. Tasty. Fresh. And hot… But nothing to really get over excited about. I ordered one of the lunch specials(garlic chicken). The special comes with a small bowl of hot and spicy soup(EXTREMELYSPICY) and a miniature egg roll which is essentially consumed in two bites. Overall, I would rate the portion size as adequate. While the lunch I had was fine… For the money, Panda Express is still probably the better option.

Good Chinese«Food» and served HOT. Wonton broth is tasty; however no vegetables, and no crispy noodles offered so thin.

Okay let me start off by saying that I ordered for delivery. I purchased the $ 30 for $ 40 Unilocal deal, called in, placed my order. If I hadn’t reminded her again of my Unilocal deal, she would’ve charged the full amount. Even after reminding, she mIscalculated and almost charged with $ 30 discount as opposed to the full $ 40. We got off the phone and I felt uneasy because she didn’t seem too attentive. To no surprise, the lady called me back 20 minutes later asking me to confirm my order, address, and credit card information. She apologized explaining that she was with a customer, but really? For 20 minutes, my order hadn’t been processed because you didn’t get the correct information down? Even up until now, I understood because I presumed they were backed up and understaffed. However, with that being said, I think this was the longest I had ever waited for my food to arrive. I was told that it would take about 30 – 40 minutes. It took… An hour and 15. Towards the end, I got frustrated, weary, and hungry so I called to no one answering the phone. Mind you that I called 3 times, rang for about a minute or so each time, which is why it’s so absurd that no one picked up despite the long ringing. I can understand up to the point of being busy, but I don’t think it’s very professional to tell your customer that the food is expected to take a certain amount of time when I could possibly be waiting for double that. The reason I give this place 3 stars is because despite the poor experience with wait time and all, the girl did seem very apologetic and sweet. When the food finally came, I could tell that the delivery person was the same girl who took my order which confirmed that this place is definitely understaffed. And the food was pretty good. It wasn’t the best but I must say, the orange chicken was delicious. Had the right amount of crisp, tangy, tenderness to it. I probably wouldn’t order from this place(especially for delivery) ever again unless I’m craving some legit orange chicken.

I got an advertisement in the mail about this place so I decided to try it out. I was impressed with how good the items were. I got kung pow tofu and it was surprisingly good. The only problem was that there was not enough food. It does not come with rice or noodles. It was very overpriced and there was not enough food. The food was great but the price is not.

First time going last night and I have to say I was impressed. The service was really good, our waitress was polite and engaging. I wish I knew her name so I could formally recognize her on here. Nevertheless, she was an exceptional server. Food was pretty good too. Not bad at all, but not the best I’ve had– however it is still pretty good and I would probably come back here again. Got the garlic chicken plate and the tofu chow mein. The noodle plate had ample pieces of tofu, while the chicken plate did not. Checked in for the free egg roll– it was good! 5 stars for the service. Maybe 4 stars for the food.

Casual ambiance and good and friendly service, but the food is majorly lacking. They put the same veggies in each dish and the only thing they change is the protein. I had no variety on the table at all. I ordered the Hunan Shrimp, and they brought me a fish dish instead and when I finally got the Hunan shrimp, it was rubbery and fishy. It almost looked like the shrimp was boiled beforehand. Both dishes were identical except for the meat. You can tell they are starting to take some shortcuts in the kitchen and that is not cool. They give you the option of white or brown rice and even the rice was dry. I like the Asian style sticky rice better. I think this place has potential, but they need to get some new dishes and creativity in the kitchen.

Delicious! My goodness, finally found my non fancy Chinese spot to grub at. I ordered simple to test the waters; shrimp chow mein with egg flower soup. The chow mein is to standard with a slight unique after taste(very good tang!) The helping was VERY generous, while the shrimp was average(not too little not too much…) I had it to go and enjoyed it at home, which is 10 minutes away, so it’s safe to say it’s good hot or not. Egg flower soup… Probably won’t get it again. I loved the broth, however it was a bit bland compared to standard soup quality. since I was home, I was able to doctor it up with some chili, garlic and lemon pepper… DEFINITELYNEEDEDIT! And the egg was SUPER overpowering! The smell, amount(it was like they put 5 eggs in a bowl!) though it did taste good. Just too much. Finally, SERVICEWASAWESOME! Best I’ve had in a long time! Helpful, polite and very nice.

We ordered take out because our normal place happened to be closed so we thought we would give this place a try. We ordered: Orange chicken: way too much sauce, not crispy at all. And for $ 12 you literally get about 12 small pieces– Dosent feel like you get much. I ate about. A 1⁄3 of it and tossed the rest in trash. Beef Broccoli: Again it was super soggy and saucy. Nothing to get excited about. It’s like something you would sample at the mall and then not order it. Overpriced for the quality of food you get. Chow Mein with pork: Also not great, just meh quality. Ate only enough so I wasn’t hungry anymore, didn’t enjoy it and threw most of it out because of poor quality. Unfortunately if you’re looking for good Chinese take out I do not recommend this place. –poor food quality — overpriced, got 3 small orders and was over $ 40 –won’t eat here again

I hate leaving bad reviews and I really wanted to like this place. First of all, I got take out and there were no utensils or napkins. I could deal with that if the food was good but it was so not. I ordered orange chicken but I’m pretty sure I got General Tso’s chicken. It was just okay — not great but edible. I expect better for a $ 12 dish. The jalapeño cream cheese egg rolls weren’t very good either. Too soggy for me. I won’t be back here. I’d rather go to KPB Bistro where I could’ve gotten 2 combos for the same price.

Ambiance: Dark red walls with dark wood tables and chairs. It’s probably different during day time but at night time, the restaurant definitely is not a cheerful looking place. 0.5 /1 star Service: Our server was nice, and although she seemed inexperienced, I thought she was really sweet. 0.5 /1 star Food & Drinks: I had an irrational craving for Chow Mein so I convinced my BF to go and try the newest Chinese restaurant in downtown Fullerton. We ended up ordering Chinese-American staples House Special Chow Mein, Vegetable Fried Rice and Orange Chicken. House Special Chow Mein — Generous portion that can be shared with 3 – 4 people. I found the flavors to be on the lighter side. Vegetable Fried Rice — Not bad. Again, I found the flavors to be on the lighter side. Orange Chicken — Unlike most Chinese restaurants, Moon Wok used dark meat chicken rather than white meat chicken. I like dark meat chicken so it pains me to write this but I didn’t like this dish. The meat was chewy and not in a good way. 1⁄2 stars Cost Performance: The total cost was about $ 30 including tax and tip. Considering the price and quantity, it is a good value but the quality is just average at best. 0.5 /1 star

Delicious, fresh, locally owned and open late!?! Can life get any better? I’ve searched far and wide for good Chinese food in the Fullerton area, thank you Moon Wok for coming to my rescue! Tip: It’s tucked away in the alley behind the Continental Room, park in the SOCO structure.
