A truly awesome place to view and experience artful and provocative photography and other visual art. including wildly dressed mannequins, a golf cart with a giant bunny head mounted on top, displays of small art creations for sale, props, and other one of a kind items. On artwalk nights or when they host other events you can mingle with artists and musicians and have a little tipple with hosts Candace and Michael Magoski. I’ve enjoyed the live music and also the eclectic aural candy the Michael spins on occasion. The Violet Hour is located in the same building as another awesome underground art enclave, The Hibbleton. where attendees can flow freely from one space to the next to enjoy a variety of DJs, live music, literature, food and art of every kind. This is a must see/experience in the Fullerton art scene.

I love, love, love Michael’s photography. Since we discovered The Violet Hour a year ago during Fullerton Art Walk, my husband and I have become the proud owner of 4 pieces. Wonderful creative environment, live music. Candace is fabulous curator. Added bonus, it’s right next door to PAS and Hibbleton Galleries, great art community.

Incredible venue. Walked in during a Fullerton Art Walk and found some amazing photography by local artists, yet the thing that most impressed me from the point I walked in was the way the venue was set up. There were some incredible bunny-mobile contraption you could actually sit in. The thing would be perfect if Tim Burton decided to put an Alice in Wonderland spin on the netherworld of Beetlejuice. There were amazing seemingly permanent displays that seemed to be associated with the venue, not the exhibit. Even the bathroom was fantastical.

Studio and art gallery in downtown Fullerton. The Art Walk is full of fun surprises, and Violet Hour is no exception. Artists come and show off their work, and everything is on sale. I went to see a few friends show their work this month, and was taken aback by the gallery. Mike and Candace have done an amazing job with the space they own, and the way they display their artists’ work makes the whole experience super fun and unique. Every nook and cranny of the warehouse has something interesting, and i feel like I’m walking through a labyrinth of personal expression. They also have DJs spinning, live bands, or just random music playing throughout. It’s also very close to a lot of bars and restaurants off Harbor, so spend some time checking out this place before hitting up your favorite pub or restaurant.

Mike and Candice are not only great people but great artists and I have enjoyed their work for many years. I have had one of their images in my home for many years and it makes me smile every time I see it. I love you guys.

This is a very interesting and crazy art studio where you can see live performances. Very laid back. The owners are welcoming and make killer grilled cheese sandwiches.
