Cox Solution Store – Esplanade at Butler Plaza

Just moved to Gainesville and was told this is basically the only company out here so was forced to go through them. Cox said they’d be here on Monday sometime from 8 to 4 to install, but of course no one shows after I wait around all day. When I call again they said they’re shipping the router to me for self-​service but that someone is actually coming Tuesday to turn on the box outside for service. Tuesday comes and no word. I get the router on Wednesday and the Internet won’t work. I call and someone puts me on hold for 35 straight minutes without checking in and so I just hang up. I called back and get someone to talk to me finally. They say that no one ever actually put the order in to come set-​up the connection (even though they shipped the router). So now they say someone will be here Friday! Everyone I’ve spoken to at Cox is absurdly incompetent and downright untruthful. Bring another provider to gainesville please!!!

I wish that they have more people for costumers. Two guys for 15 costumers is just not enough. But they gave us water for the wait .They should give us a snack. The waiting time is pretty bad. I’m not saying its 100% their mistake because the constumers don’t know what they want or have stupid questions. We had man named Bobby and really good costumer service for us. Fast and friendly

Why can’t I give zero stars??? After hours on the phone with incompetant salespeople, I finally got the full scoop: as an existing customer of 16 years, it was only going to cost me $ 159 to get hooked up to HBO – receiver, «advanced TV», install, tax, title, dealer’s fee, etc. Would I like to make an appt. for a service tech to come out and install… next week sometime? No Thanks! I will Happily stick with downloading shows from the Internet for free! They couldn’t be worse. The web page for signing up for HBO does not let you access the HBO special rate and forces you to accept a «charge up to $ 75» which no one was able to explain. The last rep just told me to accept it and swore I wouldn’t be charged – «the form is wrong.» Really, people, is this the best you can do?

Terrible customer service! Prices change without notification to the costumer. Cable and internet are ridiculously expensive. High speed internet is only high speed when it is working (~50% of the time I want to use it). Internet goes out all of the time and COX employees are either unwilling or unable to help. I wish there was another cable company competing with COX. I would switch immediately.

I debated whether or not to even review cox cable simply because I would have to give them at least one star– and they certainly don’t deserve one. The average number of times I’m transferred before someone helps me is 4. The last time I called I was transferred 10 times before I refused to be transferred again. Customer service at cox cable is non existent. I turned off my cable just so I would have less to call them about. I would never recommend cox cable to anyone ever.

The new location (next to the WinnDixie) is easy to get in and out of, efficient and friendly. Went there to transfer my service over to my tenant and it was a breeze!

Ok, so I have to give credit where credit is due. The last two times I had to work with Cox to do repairs, I reached someone on the phone fast, they showed up on time, and were very helpful — Keep it up!

…and, now, despite calling way in advance to disconnect my service when I moved, they owe me $ 30 which they overbilled for. so i called, and instead of putting it back on my card, they said they are «mailing me a check.» (WHY?!) so far the check has not come, but i did get a paper statement about a ‘credit’ for that money. now i need to call and see if i will ever be getting my money back. they suck themselves.

Hm… well the have the monopoly on cable services in the Gainesville Area so what are we to do? Their prices are pretty high in comparison to other areas and I get a lot of high speed internet outages in my neighborhood. One final thing Cox has recently started Digital Phone service which if you bundle it with some of their other product will save you a little money.
