Very convenient walk from the the Town Place Suites … Little tricky getting across the street, but I digress. Overall, it was a impulse quick stop and while I imagine their pizza is good, I was NOT impressed by the wings. They reminded me of the frozen/reheat type from the grocery store. If I am back in the area, I will give their pizza a try but I will leave the wings up to another restaurant in the future.

I was very impressed with my order this evening. Ordered at 4:59 online and the pizzas were at my door at 5:16. Hot out of the oven and really good! Fresh mushrooms. Good flavor on the meats. Sauce had a nice flavor. Really good value for the price! Delivery Driver said he was the fastest in town. I can believe it! Very pleased!

Their name and slogan pretty much says it all… Five Star and«The Best for Less». In the world of delivery pizza, Five Star is the winner, hands down. I’ve been ordering from them for years and I’ve yet to be disappointed. The pizza is great, price is reasonable and the delivery is quick. Their customer service is great. I’ve ordered all sorts of things-half cheese/half veggie with NO cheese, half all meat/half veggie NO cheese, ect and they never give me a hassle. The person on the phone and the delivery drivers are always very friendly. My home is a decent ways away from this location and they still manage to deliver quickly AND the pizzas are still piping hot! Five Star is a delivery pizza delicacy. Do yourself a favor and order the extra large… you’ll thank me later!

The delivery was very fast and accurate. The person on the phone was polite and friendly and helpful. The large pizza is huge and easily feeds four adults or one teenager. The crust is ok but too soft to enable you to pick up the pieces to eat … So it is knife and fork time. The toppings are generously applied. The biggest problem is the sauce was thin and rather bland. All in all I will call again next time I want a delivery. Oh I didn’t say this but the pizza was piping hot when it arrived.

Five stars for Five Star Pizza! We were passing through looking for good pizza. We wanted a dine in setting but it was a small sacrifice to do delivery and enjoy quality pizza with a full coverage of toppings. The wings were huge! Delicious!!!

Fresh, hot delivery! We were passing through on travel and they delivered to the hotel in well under 30 minutes. Pizza was yummy and blazing hot, and the pepperoni rolls were good too. Service was easy and friendly, and the price was great!

Pizza was ok. From the North East and visit NYC often this is nothing like it. This is closer to Papa Johns. It was a cleaner pizza than I like. I like greasy cheese dripping pizza. Sauce was too thick almost like too much tomato paste. The Garlic knots were great though. Doughy and smothered in butter fresh and hot!

Average pizza. Thin crust pizza ordered and prompt delivery. Good experience for a giant 20 inches pizza. Good one but could have been better.

Maybe this place is more than just conveniently named? Is it a huge controversy to award less than 5 stars to a business named Five Star? Is it some sort of subliminal messaging that triggers you to award them a high rating when you go home? Hmmmmmm very tricky 5S… very tricky indeed. Well no matter you’re not getting this rating because of your creative Unilocal friendly name, you’re getting it because I’m convinced that — Five Star pizza saved my life. FACT! Drunk, and on the verge of a disorderly blackout, while wandering the streets of Gainsville, my new local friends pulled me down an alley way, where I thought my antics had potentially earned me a beating. On the contrary, my new belligerent besties saw the early signs of disaster on my face and decided to ply me full of Pizza to stave off the effects of the dozen vodkas I’d consumed. The pizza was CHEAP($ 5 for a large) and served a few degrees cooler than the temperature of the sun. Sitting in an alley on a dilapidated milk crate, I’m sure my googly eyes made me a sight as I slurred my speech and pounded slice after slice into my gullet, searing the roof of my mouth until I got that weird raw roof of the mouth hanging skin thing… you know where you’re not sure if a piece of cheese has fused itself to the roof of your mouth OR you’ve literally induced 3rd degree burns from molten cheese and sauce and the inside of your mouth is peeling faster than a bad sunburn… ya that feeling. Follow that up with quite possibly the greasiest creation ever — Garlic rolls(like so greasy and delicious that I went through puberty again and almost had a full acne break out instantaneously) and the cool breeze of sobriety hit me in the face like a seagull once clocked Fabio. SUPERSOBER… and slightly stunned. Following this feed, I avoided making a long distance phone call home into the great white porcelain telephone and kept myself out of cuffs by avoiding doing anything stupid that evening… Ergo… Five Star Pizza saved my life! Eatcrest Out!

Five Star is great. Probably my favorite pizza in town. Their bacon is by far the best. Get the pepperoni rolls too.

Yes it was fast !!! But the pizza was just ok — a step down from most other chains. Liked that you could order online — but maybe you do have to be drunk to appreciate.

375‑5600. The only number i have memorized in Gainesville, FL. 24 hour pizza delivery. Need I as more? The pepperoni rolls are the best thing that you shouldn’t eat, but man. They are amazing. Chicken bites are ok… better than ok for a 24 hour place. Get them with hot sauce. Make good buffalo tenders. Try the cheezy bread with toppings. It’s a great while pizza. I love it with sausage tomatoes and onions. Not very many delivery pizza places better in the US.

The best fast food pizza in Gainesville IMO If you are thinking of ordering from Pizza Hut, PaPa Johns or Dominos give Five Star a try. From what I understand they are a Gainesville start-up.very good quality products Unfortunately they don’t deliver to our house, but it’s so good we actually drive up to them to get it.

I’ve been a fan of Five Star since I ordered their large special at my dorm room, 5 years ago. If you ever do go to the 2nd street location, you will find it behind Common Grounds. It is literally a hole-in-the-wall kind of place. Not very friendly looking, but it’s mainly a delivery business and they can care less about business presentation when 1% of their customers see it. If you order, it is usually 30 minutes. If you pick up it is 8 – 10 minutes. Their pizza is my favorite in Gainesville. I’m a huge pizza hut pan pizza fan, but I would order Five Star over Pizza Hut anyday. The XL is HUGE(I’m talking 20″+). Their crust is thinnish, and SO fresh. I love their crust because it’s just liked eat fresh-baked italian bread. Their sauce is semi-sweet and they give you a fair amount of cheese. I always get cheese, though sometimes I’ll get pepperoni and onion if friends are eating it with me. Now, you may think it doesn’t sound that great. But for some reason, it just IS the best pizza in Gainesville. It is also pretty cheap at ~$ 10 for the XL cheese. If I ever have a pizza craving, I know to order Five Star or I’ll be sorry.

This place is really a Gainesville staple. The food is average, but there’s just something iconic about this place. When I used to live in Gainesville, this was the«go to» spot for me and the roomies for late night goodness. I’m not sure if they still do this, but for a good tip, they would also buy us stuff from the gas station(cigs, etc) and deliver it.

Ok, it’s 2:30AM, and you just got back from the bars(and you couldn’t stop at Italian Gator on the way out). Or, it’s 3:30AM and you just got back from a party. Or, it’s 11PM and you just got back from a night game. (note how it’s never daytime when the moment calls for 5 star) What should you do? GETFIVESTARONTHEPHONE! They make gigantic, cheesy, greasy, affordable pizza that is the perfect way to satisfy those huge late night appetites that roar to life because you’ve had a few drinks or just because you’ve been awake for 19 hours and standing for the last 6. The thing I loved the best was ordering, having them tell me «45 minutes,» and hearing a knock at the door 10 minutes later. The look on everyone’s face and the joy in their hearts when it dawns on them the pizza has come early: priceless. Just don’t forget to do the«five star flop» before you eat it… ask around, someone will explain the proper technique to you.

If you live in Gainesville and have not made a 2:00AM order for Five Star Pizza, then shame on you. The clubs close at 2:00AM and Five Star Stops delivering at 4:00AM, that gives you plenty of time! The staples are the Pepperoni Powerhouse and the garlic rolls. Sure it is not the best pizza that I have ever had, but it is a must try Gainesville experience. Once you are drunk and your mouth hits this greasy pizza, you will think that you have died and gone to heaven for the time being. Sure the crust is a little gummy, and it’s not even cheap. But, even my Mom likes it when she is sober, so it must be good.

If you avoid getting pepperoni here, you’ll miss out on the majority of the grease. The combo of sausage, peppers and mushrooms is my perennial favorite. I don’t eat pizza as a hangover helper – one, I’m rarely drunk and two, my stomach doesn’t process grease properly when it’s awash in alcohol – but this pizza is perfectly fine when you’re sober. Blue Highway, Big Lou’s and Satchel’s aren’t always practical options depending on where you’re located and/or the time of day, and unfortunately I’m nowhere near an ILNY Pizza in my new house. Bottom line? It kicks the snot out of every other chain in town(with the possible exception of Gumby’s) and delivery, in my experience, is very fast. Overall, a very solid choice. 3.5 stars.
