Great home town bar feel. Prices are very reasonable. Had the hot boneless wings. Lots of favor etc. highly recommend this place if your in Gainesville. I will be back next time Im here for work.

A well known spot for Gainesville residents. We ordered pick up for the first time and chose the pocky stix as well as 10 piece kbbq wings. The place itself is cluttered and slightly outdated. The tables are sticky and a oily/old kind of smell lingers around. This in itself is forgivable if the food was excellent but unfortunately I found the items to be subpar. I admit, the amount of diversity on the menu is really impressive and you can’t beat the price. This is a great place to come after a night/day of drinking. From ice cream to pizza to mini corn dogs, Gumby’s has it all! However, the quality of the food comes up short. The kbbq wings in particular tasted nothing like Korean barbecue and were rather small. The famous pocky stix did not live up to the hype and was just average, nothing special. Even then, I can forgive the food. Something I can’t look past was the service. We were told to pick up the order in 15min. We arrived 15min later and ended up waiting an extra 20min because the order was not ready. When I went to ask about our food, it ends up that the items were just sitting in the kitchen getting cold. It seems that the ladies behind the counter would much rather stand and talk to each other than check up on their job.(Two of the girls did not move from their chatter spot the entire time I was there). None of the workers were particularly happy being there on a Wednesday night. We also made the mistake of not checking our food in the restaurant. The sauces we ordered(that you have to pay for) were completely wrong. Overall, not satisfied with this place.

The food is ok. Its very generic and nothing that stands out from the rest. It does have late night delivery and large portions.

We had the pizza here once and that was enough. It was luke warm and best and just full of grease. The garlic bread/rolls where nothing to sneeze at either. I seriously would have rather had Papa John’s

There was nothing better than Gumby’s Pizza after an intoxicated night out with friends or if you’re just a poor college student on a budget and too lazy to cook. This place has been around since I was a student and their food is still pretty good. They have great specials for under $ 10 and they are open super late for you night owls. Try the wings & Pokey sticks. For those who don’t appreciate this establishment, you probably haven’t been around long enough to remember when this college town lacked more late night food options. Trust me. It was a good break from Taco Bell, Checkers and Krystal. Glad to see this place is still around. It’s Gumby’s damnit. :)

This place is a Gainesville icon. It has been open for over 50 years now. The owners were UF dropouts that thought they would try their hands at a pizza joint. They also have more then 100 locations now. Today I had some time to kill for lunch so I went a wondering. I saw this place and Gumby. I loved Gumby n Poke as a kid so I just had to give it a shot. I walked in and it’s kind of a bar/pizza/sandwich/wing place. Being me I went for the italian sub heated with mayo lettuce and onions. Went my sandwich came put I have to say that it was done right. There was a fair amount meat specially for the price. It also tasted really good. I do enjoy the italain selection of subs so it is always my first thing that I order. They have a very large menu with so many items on it. So it is almost around the corner so I think that I could sneak away for quick lunch.

Decent pizzas for pretty good prices, exactly what the students ordered. Service was fast too, beer prices were a little high from what i remember. All in all will keep going back.

I really wanted to love this place after I heard from numerous people that Gumby’s has fantastic pizza. Once again, I was disappointed in a Gainesville eatery. I have come to the conclusion that«fantastic» in Gainesville means, at best, average to those of us from cities with lots of options. I’ve eaten here twice. I had pizza both times. They were average. Not fantastic as I was told. Not bad. Just incredibly average. I will probably give it another try, because it may be the best in Gainesville, in spite of its mediocrity.

The blockhead was good. I also ordered pocky sticks to know what it was. It was soft and fresh but, just dough & cheese. Nothing great about it.

Gumby’s is great for pizza and pokey sticks but not much else. By that I mean that their wings are lacking and their fries flat out suck. It’s pretty cheap, though, so as a college student, I’m sure I’ll be back for more of their late night deals.

I ordered for delivery… the delivery service they use is VERY expensive(esp for the POORQUALITY of food they serve). I ordered boneless chicken wings which were soggy and disgusting, I also ordered jalapeño poppers, to which I received mozzarella sticks instead. I called the restaurant and they didn’t seem to care at all. My order cost me $ 18.76FORTWOITEMSANDTHEYWERENTEVENCORRECT. Do yourself a favor and do not order from here.

The pizza wasn’t bad, in fact it was really good. They lose a lot of points for the general smell. The place smells like a urinal. How can pretty good pizza come out of a place that smells so awful?

Saw their $ 3.99 large 1 topping pizza deal off and couldn’t pass it up. Got tomatoes, bacon, and jalapeños and it was fantastic. Delivered pretty quickly straight to my hotel door.

For the price at Gumby’s you really can’t say anything bad about their food. In fact I like Gumby’s over the usual chain pizza stores. In a college town this place is heaven for cash strapped students who want pizza and more. Their delivery service is satisfactory and I had food delivered to a dorm in an hour.

The pokey sticks and pepperoni rolls are amazing, it’s a good place to eat at in person as well and it’s open late.

Gumby’s is an institution at UF. Which isn’t necessarily a good or bad thing. It just is. Yes it may have been shut down(supposedly) or at least run into issues with not passing its inspections. But its a ‘hole in the wall’ pizza place. What else would you expect other than greasy pizza, wings and beer?

I waited 45 minutes for my pizza and when I went up to the counter to ask the staff how much longer it was going to be, they were all on their phones! She went into the back to check for me and apparently my pizza have been sitting there and it’s not even hot. I ordered the Green & White pizza and there’s barely any spinach on it. I seriously think Cici’s pizza makes better spinach pizza than this place. NEVER ordering from here again!

I was a regular customer of Gumby’s and when I say regular, I mean it, but I have never experienced such poor customer service. The manager was incredibly unprofessional and stated«I don’t have the time to deal with you» when confronted about an order that was 2 hours(yes 2 hours) late and still never showed. He offered no solution and did anything he could to get me off the phone.

Absolutely DISGUSTING. This is the worst place I’ve been to in a long time. Please, if you’re thinking about trying Gumby’s and reading this review, run FAR away. Stopped here at 1AM trying to get some food after driving up all evening from South Florida. My chicken parm sub had what seemed to be fake chicken in it. The texture and taste was certainly not chicken – more like old soggy bread with ketchup on it on a stale roll. My friend let me take one bite of his philly and I wanted to… well, you get the idea. This was one of the only places I have ever taken a bite of something and literally walked out. I couldn’t even finish chewing. Yes, it was that terrible. Never trust a place that advertises a 5 dollar large pizza. Decent ingredients and staff cost way more than that.

Okay so it’s Gumby’s. For those who don’t know, you come here for the pokey sticks. The pizza is just so so. I was a fan 10+ years ago when a student at Mizzou. Again, pokey sticks and alcohol– nothing better. Today I was fully sober and ordered pizza for the first time. Pokey sticks didn’t disappoint. Greasy, garlic, cheese. Can’t beat it. Pizza just so so. Had two pieces to feel a little«fuller» then devoured half the pokey sticks with hubby. Think it was a large. Fantastic! Expensive for the pizza add on and cost not really matching quality. But, pokey sticks are a steal! Best bet is to order with wings probably or carry out and serve with other food at home. We’ll be back for football games. The fact that a bar is attached is nice. Not sure if it is pro Gators or not. And small cup of homemade ice cream walking out the door. 4⁄5 stars because pizza isn’t great, but with fantastic pokey sticks and great ice cream– above average.
