Horrible customer service.
My lawn mower stopped working and it’s only a year old so I called the customer service number on the mower (for Lowe’s) and explained. I was told that my mower was still under the manufacturer’s warranty and that I had also purchased the extended protection from Lowe’s. He told me to take it to the nearest Lowes and they would take care of it.
So I did. And he said it would be ready in a week. He never mentioned anything about it being charged and even reconfirmed that it was still under warranty.
A week later I get a call to come pick it up. The next day I do that. And it takes them twenty minutes to find it. And then they charged me 80 bucks! They said I should have taken it to Bolens instead of Lowes.
When I explained that the customer service person TOLD ME that with the warranty my next step was to take it into Lowes, the guy said I should try to call Bolens and maybe *they* could help.
I don’t see how they would, they never knew there was an issue! The customer service at SOME step in this process should have informed me that to avoid charges (because it was still under warranty and all) I needed to NOT take it into Lowes and instead get instructions from Bolens.
Pathetic.

How great is this. They just happened to open a brand spanking new Lowe’s right behind my new job location. The only problem is I could probably walk there faster then driving. I will say that this place is bright n shiny. The floors are really clean and the shelves well have stuff on them. Did it have what I needed? Not all of it. I needed 50′ of clear hose and I got 2 – 20′ sections that I have to stick together. The other stuff I needed they had what and the amount I wanted. I really had to look hard for some of it to I’m kind of used to that. Now I will be back a whole lots of times in the near future. So good or bad I’ll be back to give them lots of money.

One of the poorest Lowes I have every been in. Very poor service we want a small piece of wood cut they said there saw was broken and they could not do anything about. Second want some service in appliances and no one would help they could get someone to help.

They’ve got what you need so long as you know where to find it and you can figure out how to use the self check out machine.
I thought Mcdonalds was leading the way to abandon all forms of customer service but it’s not; Lowes is leading the charge.

Wow, people are mad at Lowe’s on Unilocal.While I agree that some of their employees are cranky about their whole entire lives, there are also some extremely helpful folks in that store who go above and beyond. I find that going in the morning yields the best results with employee interactions, but don’t go too close to lunch as you have to keep people’s blood sugar levels in mind when shopping.
I have also found that Lowe’s carries more items that one would expect and sometimes at a bargain. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a traditional home improvement item there (paint, lumber, plants etc) though. Since they give 10% off for Military, I buy a lot of cleaners, water filters, and storage.
I can’t deal with the spelling of the store on here. Someone tried to be a little too thorough. I wish I could review that.

There are two Lowe’s in Gville — and this one is a tiny bit closer to my house. When I first moved here, this place was hopping, and getting help was impossible. Getting close to load out was hard too. I did have them and their subs do my main bathroom (tile, cabinets, new toilet) and they did a decent job overall.
Now that the market has taken a crap, getting help is hard because there are no employees in there a lot of the time. No sales = no hours = very few bodies.
Still, I pretty much know where everything in Lowe’s is, and I keep going back because they do a pretty good job in having what I want at reasonable prices.
