Let me go ahead and start off this Unilocal review by claiming that I am absolutely the number 1 most obsessed Sardis person out there. Seriously, I live in California now and I’m writing a review. Everyone who knows me knows how devoted I am to this spot lol. Now moving on… Sardis is absolutely the best Peruvian restaurant there is. Point. Blank, and Period. It really is that delicious. The chicken is so tender, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. The charbroiled cooking method with skin on locks in all the juicy flavors of cumin, garlic, paprika, oregano, and lime. You can taste the blend of seasonings in each and every bite. The accompanying sides are just as good: plantains, yuca, french fries, potatoes, mixed veggies, salad, rice, chicken fried rice, beans, and green beans… you can’t go wrong with any combination. Now personally, I like the ¼ chicken, fried rice with black beans, and french fries. And to top it all off, the amazing sauces. Now if you’re not in the mood for charbroiled chicken, there’s so much more on the menu to choose from. I would recommend the lomo saltado or ceviche classico. It doesn’t matter what you pick, you’ll enjoy everything! Now, the one thing people tend to complain about is the parking situation… it can get pretty packed in that little lot… let me enlighten your life: Don’t park in the Sardis lot. Right next to it is a parking lot that is damn near empty all the time. It’s where the KFC is. And no, you wont get a ticket or towed or anything. It’s open to the public. Now go; go and enjoy some Sardis… eat it with me in mind and in your heart… i’ll just sit here in California… deprived of my one true love… go on without me… ;( lol

This Sardi’s no longer has signs everywhere overstating their limitations on sauces, so bravo. The pollo a la brass is still delicious and remains the only thing I’ve eaten here, because I just can’t NOT order it every time I come. ~ parking lot is a sh*t show ~ lines are always long, but moves quickly ~ lots of seating inside and there’s also a downstairs that serves… Burgers?

Wow! The food is incredible at Sardi’s Gaithersburg location! I enjoyed the Lomo Saltado(steak marinated in olive oil, grilled w/onions and tomatoes) with a side of green beans & fried plantains, while my husband enjoyed a ½ chicken with a side of black beans & rice and fried plaintains. Both meals were incredibly well done with so much flavor! For dessert we could not resist the Alfajores(dulce de leche cookie sandwiches w/powdered sugar). If you go in the evening, especially on a weekend, be prepared for it to be crowded. Don’t worry about a wait though. The staff moves you through the line without making you feel rushed.

The food is really good, chicken with a savory skin and the sides like the fried yuca(a root), fries, some kind of fried rice, and the three Saudis are really good The service is okay, they don’t really provide too much The place has a kind of oily warm thick feeling in the air.

SO good. The chicken is tender and cooked perfectly. I love the plantains(though they were so sweet, almost artificially sweet). The steamed veggies were a little bland, but I covered it with the green sauce anyways. They are all very efficient and accommodating. I definitely need to add this to my rotations of eating out options!

This is my absolute favorite place for chicken in Moco. It(almost) makes me miss living in Gaithersburg, where I was but a hop, skip and jump away! The peruvian chicken is incredibly juicy and I love the crispness of the roasted skin. It’s also an incredible value for the money that you spend(a lot of delicious food for a reasonable price). I can never decide between three of their sides: rice & beans, yucca and coleslaw, which ultimately ends up in why I just end up getting all three along with my chicken. If you have room for dessert, make sure to get their tres leches cake in the refrigerated case(SOWORTHALLTHECALORIESINIT). I recently went back and was reminded again of how much I love the food here. I did notice that they changed the packaging of their sauces; you no longer end up with 4 or 5 cups of spicy green/mild sauce! Prepare for an ultimate food coma after eating here!

I love this place everything is so good here. It’s great if you want to just take out some chicken and sides because that is relatively quick. The other items will take a little bit to prepare but you can always dine in. But it is worth it. The restaurant is very spacious. There always seems to be a soccer/Futbol game playing on the tv’s. Just writing the review is making me want to go there right now. The one down side to this location is the parking. There is definitely not enough space for how busy this restaurant is. I usually park in the adjacent buildings lot when it is after hours. I enjoy sardi’s much more than nando’s and guano’s across the street.

In searching for a place to get a good plate of food… I stumbled upon this place. I’m familiar with Peruvian food so I wanted to see if this would be slightly different from the place I went to before. Well sad to say, there was really no diffrence. The menus were pretty much the same. I had the quarter dark chicken with 2 sides and a flan… the taste was about the same as well… however, the food was delicious. I wasn’t to disappointed but I was really looking for some different in the menu. I would recommend this place and go back again .

I’ve noticed a lot of Unilocal friends have reviewed this establishment. I’ve lived in Gaithersburg for a little over a year, why am I so late to this party? This Peruvian chicken is SOGOOD! I ordered the Perucho sandwich combo tonight. Char-grilled chicken breast topped with Sarza Criolla and fried sweet potato with a side of yucca fries, plus a drink. It is on special for the month of July for $ 7 + tax. I don’t think the fries were as good as Pollo Campero’s but I will give Sardi’s another chance. I had an Inca Kola, and I loved it so much I want more! Why 4 stars and not 5? I noticed on my receipt I was charged $ 8 instead of the $ 7 on the posted flyer. I brought this to the attention of a manager and he gave me a dollar out of the cash register. So I’ve had Peruvian coffee, and now Peruvian chicken. What else can I devour that is Peruvian? In the words of a former California governor, «I’ll be back!»

Now that they’ve prepackaged their sauces they’re starting to charge for them so I’ll have to retract my previous statement that they’re unlike others out there. I’m spending $ 15 for a dish x2 you think they would give me one sauce but no. So be prepared to pay 70 cents a piece. Which is pricey might I add. AND my receipt doesn’t say what I’m paying for which makes it all the more suspicious.

If you’re a fan of chicken, you should definitely check this place out. The line can be long during peak hours, but it’s worth the wait. Make sure to check your mail for coupons. I used a coupon for $ 5 off a purchase of $ 20 or more. A whole chicken and a couple sides can feed a family of 4(unless all 4 are grown men who can eat some chicken). You can pick whole chicken or parts thereof. Make sure to get yucca as a side… they’re delicious when eaten hot. They have special sauces. I personally like the green sauce over the white sauce. Make sure to try both! This isn’t a place to take your date, but a good fast restaurant for people on the run who are looking for large portions for a decent price(e.g. college students).

So I love some fried chicken and my first taste of Peruvian chicken was years ago at Pollo Rico in Clarendon area. I was hooked. Peruvian chicken here is rotisserie style with a good amount of seasoning. The chicken is juicy and tasty! You also gotta get the spicy green dip thing they give you. So let me take you to one of my favorite Peruvian chicken joints, Sardis! So just like people say that you can spot a good Restaurant by «who» goes there. Translation: if you go to a Chinese restaurant and most patrons are Chinese then you most likely got a legit, authentic and tasty place. Same goes for most ethnic places IMO. So yes I was happy to see people of the Latin influence here to prove my theory correct! The Good: — chicken of course. Sides are awesome too and makes for a good group dinner. — green dipping sauce — quick service, walk up order style The Bad: — nada

Mind. Blown. This place is great! The food is ah-mazing! My coworker recommended this place and I was NOT disappointed! It’s actually bigger inside than it looked on the outside… which probably explains why I’ve driven past it a million times and didn’t think to stop here. Now I know! I had the Pollo Parrillero/Grilled De-Boned ½ Chicken… it comes with rice and 2 sides. I decided on plantains and a salad. I know, I know. Either way, it was so frick’n delicious. The chicken was marinated excellently. And grilled to perfection… the meat pulled apart only using my plastic fork! I think I made myself sick from eating so fast! I will definitely be returning! If you haven’t come here… you’re missing out.

This is my go-to place for Peruvian pollo a la brasa — and not just at any Sardi’s, but this one in particular. Somehow, the chicken here at the Gaithersberg location is tastier and juicier than the ones I’ve had at other Sardi’s. I’ve been to the College Park, Capitol Heights, Manassas, and Takoma Park locations, but the chicken(and fried rice!) at the Sardi’s in Gaithersberg is the best and worth the long drive! I always order the pollo a la brasa, but I’ve had their lomo saltado before and it was also delicious. I recommend getting the Family Special for the best deal. My favorite sides are the arroz chaufa(fried rice), plantains, and fried yucca. Their fried rice is hands down the best that I have ever tasted at any Peruvian chicken joint. I can easily eat half a chicken plus sides myself! I also love their sauces. The food here is great and price is reasonable. As they say in Peru, this place is the 3 Bs — bueno, bonito y barato! :)

We were told this place has limited parking space, luckily we arrived early for lunch and managed to get 2 spots for our group. The interior was setup like fast food joint where you lined up to choose your food. I got the Charbroil Chicken with some veggies and yucca on the side. Chicken was delicious, they were probably some of the best non-fried chickens I ever had, and it was quite juicy on the inside. Not sure I can say the same for the yucca, and it had a really dried taste, perhaps it was an acquired taste. If you are a fan of Peruvian food or broil chicken, then you would love this place. The staff all seemed quite friendly when we were there, and they also had Unilocal check-in offer discount too.

Peruvian chicken at it’s finest! Usually when I eat this type of food, I feel extremely thirsty with heartburn. however this place doesn’t make me feel like that. They give decent portions and the food is always fresh. There is always a line regardless of the time. I always order half chicken, yuca, and beans/rice. The chicken is incredibly juicy, even the breast meat. Yuca is always crisp and you’re given large pieces. Service is good. Food is fresh, hot, flavorful. Price is affordable.

Came here on a Sunday night at 6PM. I managed to get parking at the back of the restaurant without a problem, but as I was leaving, the lot was full and then some, because people be like, «Sardi’s for life. And plus, YOLO».(This is how I feel about phở). There’s only 3 official parking spots in the front and they’re full? No problem, someone clearly saw room for a 4th. +1 parking space. A two way road leading to the back parking lot? Welps, people obviously thought we really only need one lane for thru traffic. For the good of humanity, right? +5 more parking spaces. All the back parking spaces are full? What? KFC right next door? *Strokes chin* Service: — There’s a guy chopping the rotisserie chicken with a large knife as you queue in line to order. He looked friendly. — The lady taking my order was very efficient. She used all 3 sections of my platter very effectively. — The cashier was very friendly. I liked that she asked questions about my order, and made sure that my friend didn’t end up paying for my food. Food: — The chicken was very juicy, as I was told it would be, but I don’t know how I feel about the sauce. I asked for 2 of the green, spicy one(by default they give you one yellow and one green). I thought the green one was just okay. It didn’t have much of a flavor to it. My friend who got the yellow, plain one said it also didn’t have much of a flavor. — The arroz chaufa(Peruvian fried rice) was not my favorite. They were pretty dry and unappetizing. If that’s the way they’re supposed to be, then it’s definitely to no fault of the chef’s; just my personal preference. — The sweet potato fries were also pretty standard. Nothing mind blowing. — Their menu is actually pretty huge. I saw a couple of things I wanted to try, but alas, I stuck with the much recommended chicken. — Also a big selection of drinks. I got canned coconut juice. — There’s ice cream in a freezer towards the very back. Other Stuff: — There’s loud music playing in the background. Dislike. — The booth seats are not bolted to the floor. You’re going to get some booths that are a tight squeeze as a result. — You order towards the back of the restaurant, and pay before you sit down. Overall, I would definitely come back to try the lomo and pollo saltado, as well as the skewers, but I haven’t been blown away by my experience here. I think I’ll have to try the tres leches cake as well! And their specialty ice cream! One thing is for sure — the patrons love Sardi’s enough that there are makeshift parking spots. Tres brave! And for that, I am willing to come back and give it another go(takeout only, though). Some legal disclosure mabob: I am not in any way, directly or indirectly, implied or explicit, encouraged or discouraged, orally or verbally: promoting parking wherever you’d like. Just saying.

Sardi’s is bumping. In the most suburban kind of way. I’ve been a few times on weeknights and there are hoards of people coming in for dinner and take out. They make everything the second you order it and bring it to your table, similar in style to Panera/Nandos/etc… and they also have a bar on the lower level where you can order alcohol and food, with happy hour specials. The food is delicious, and the service is fast. The staff always seems a bit rush, understandability so, but there really is nothing bad on the menu. So any chioce you make will be a good one. I know everyone makes the comparison to Nando’s, and I’ll say this — Nando’s is just about the best version of quick, fresh and flavorful chicken. But Sardi’s… they just feel more authentic. So depending on what you’re going for, that’s how you should make your decision since the prices are comparable.

Yum. Yum. YUM!!! First, make sure you don’t try to park in their tiny parking lot. Park along the street and walk(you will thank me later). After 5pm park in the commercial lot next door. Then get ready to stand in line. There is always a line. Lunch time. Dinner time. Afternoon. Even 8pm on a Sunday night. Busy. Busy. Busy. Please be patient! I have only had the chicken, but it is the best chicken ever! Better than Rotisserie chicken from Costco and that is good chicken! It is the marinade and then the seasoning. Plus, it is cooked over fire. Real fire. I have watched them fan the flames. I have even watched the flames go crazy! This is definitely a winning combo! Crispy skin on the outside and so tender and juicy on the inside! If you are trying to feed a family or at least 2 people buy a whole chicken. Best deal. For $ 17.50 you get a whole chicken(ask the guy to chop it into 8 pieces!) and two sides. For $ 24 you get another side and 4 sodas. For $ 37 you get 2 whole chickens, 4 large sides and 6 sodas or a 2-liter bottle. Can you believe that? Sixteen pieces of chicken! The sides are fresh and obviously made daily. You can choose from french fries, sweet potato fries, fried yucca, fried plantains(the BOMB!), green beans cooked with onions, rice and beans(black or pinto), coleslaw, garden salad, tortillas, fried rice(with chicken) or corn. The best part is the dipping sauce. Yes, the chicken is MOIST and delicious on its own, but try the sauces. There is a yellow sauce and the flavor reminds me of a thick italian dressing. The green sauce is spicy and a bit runnier. I love to mix the two. You only get packed a certain number of sauce cups, but you can always ask for more… especially if you dine in. There are many other dishes on the menu. Lots of Peruvian dishes that they specialize in. Sandwiches. Even a gyro salad. The key word here is FRESH. Fresh ingredients. Fresh veggies. Freshly made daily. Deliciouso!!!

!PESIMAATENCION! Worst service ever!
