This is a such great place to eat. I really enjoy their bento box specials and their fresh rolls. The portions are huge for the price too. Will definitely recommend to my friends and coworkers!

Great place to get your fix of Japanese food! The sweet and spicy chicken is spicy enough to taste but not overwhelming at all, plus it’s pretty bomb. The Moana chicken is awesome too! You can totally taste the freshness and quality of all the ingredients! Brown rice is only 50 cents extra, which I think is worth it. The portion and taste of the food is matched up well for its prices. Give this place a shot, you won’t regret it.

Everything was so delicious and so fresh! It will seriously become one of my regulars because I’m gonna have my Hot Cheeto Roll fix from now on. And, what didn’t I have… the mango crab salad, delicious! Not, canned mango but sweet fresh mango topped this salad. The jalapeño killer bomb, fried jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and spicy tuna were so good and moderately spicy, but I love HOT! Also got the Navy roll and teriyaki chicken, which was super tender. Obviously, I didn’t come alone but I could’ve eaten all this myself. Highly recommend this place! Prices are so reasonable too! …especially considering the quality.

Located in a nearly-dead plaza(deader than usual as its neighbor Caffe Bene was closed for renovations) adjacent to the Kaiser Permanente complex and Tozai Plaza, I visited on a weekday afternoon and it was mostly empty. I ordered their beef bento special, which came with generous portions of rice, marinated meat, tempura, potato salad, California roll, and soup. The meal was served in plastic take out plates instead of regular plates which was a bit wasteful. The tempura didn’t look too nice, but I was pleasantly surprised with how crispy the veggies turned out. The shrimp, on the other hand, was just as expected: overly battered and soggy. The most disappointing part of the meal was the beef. It was drenched in their sauce which was way too sweet and overwhelming. The staff was friendly, but since it’s mostly self-service(order at the register), that didn’t matter too much here. Moana Grill is yet another entrant in the overcrowded sushi-and-teriyaki space, and with Ladybug Asian Grill just around the corner, I found it difficult to be enthusiastic about this place.

A GOOD place with GREAT food! The sweet and spicy chicken plate comes with rice and green salad. It is so tasty and savory, it’s a balance of sweetness, spiciness, saltiness and sourness. The salad is fresh and I really love the house ponzu dressing. Udon plus tempura and the roll, you have to try it. Thumbs up! Friendly staff, a very clean place to eat and I can’t wait to try other food on the menu.

Moana Grill is a fairly new place on Western, next to Café Benne. I’ve been seeing it for a while driving up and down Western. It never sparked my interest but my boyfriend mentioned that he wanted to try it. We tried the rolls here, and it was just ok. I tried the Aloha roll and the eel roll with a side of tempura. The best thing was the tempura. I felt like for the price, we could have just gone to a regular sushi restaurant. It’s more of a quick grab n’ go kind of place. I wasn’t really impressed by anything. To be fair, they do have bento options that I think they are better known for. I won’t be coming back to try the bentos though. There are too many places like this in the South Bay with better quality and better price.

This place is a really good for lunch and dinner. Teriyaki and roll tastes is much better than other places. I ordered teriyaki, orange chicken, and salad for chattering containers today. It’s a perfect for all parties. All employees are really kind all the time! You guys must come to here!

Look no further, come here for your sushi needs and be beyond satisfied. I was traveling through LA on vacation, found this on Unilocal!,my wife went and checked the health violations as well and found this place was one of the cleanest in the city according to the government website. First, the service was stellar, really nice lady working the counter Second, food was a good value and super delicious. We ordered 3 large rolls and could not finish them all. Very fresh Sashimi. Third, seems like this is a favorite spot of a lot of the local police, they were all taking dinner turns at this place when I was there, that is usually another good sign. So there you have it, look no further, and eat sushi. P. S. This place is like the Chipotle of Sushi.

I’ve been coming to this place for a while now and finally leaving a review for this place! My favorites are the avocado cucumber salad(so much avocado in the salad with a tasty peanut type sauce), the Alaska roll, spicy tuna and crunch roll They also have some new items I am sure to try next time. Parking is no problem. Interior is clean. The workers are so nice. You can always do phone orders too.

I’ve seen this place driving by and last night on a walk and stopped and looked at their menu, tried it tonight with my family and we all loved it! Very good prices and the food was delicious, we will be back for sure. My son had the Big Bear Roll and enjoyed every morsel, the sweet and spicy chicken is quite tasty too.

I always saw this place whenever I drove by, but nothing really pushed me to stop by this place. I decided to stop by before studying at café bene. It does seem like business is slow unfortunately :/or maybe it was just the time that I was there that it was dead. But it’s been up for maybe a year? so business must be doing well. There were a lot of choices on the menu that I liked. The poke, sushi and whatnot. But I decided to go with poke. The poke was okay. It was really cold so I could tell it was sitting in the fridge for a while. And there seemed to be a bit too much sesame oil flavor on it, which I didn’t really like. The poke just comes with some sliced onions and rice. Pretty plain but I can’t complain since I was starving. But overall the store is pretty clean, employees are nice and helpful(they were helping out a customer before me who had a ton of questions and a complicated order). There’s plenty of parking in the plaza.

I drive by this place everyday so after reading the reviews… I had to try it. Let me tell you I was impressed. The young lady behind the counter was warm and friendly… I should have gotten her name. Great customer service. We ordered the salmon and white chicken Bento boxes. Omg so much food. I couldn’t finish my food… and I’m a big girl with a healthy appetite. Nope… couldn’t finish it. We also had the hot Jasmine tea. We’ll definitely return to try the udom soups.

I’ve never eaten at this place before and decided to try it since it’s near my house. There’s a variety of plates and rolls to choose from, including bento boxes with your choice of meat, rice, tempura, macaroni, salad, California rolls, and soup for a reasonable price of about $ 8 – 10 depending on what you order(a drink will add another $ 1.50). I ordered the beef bento box and was surprised at how much food they give you; I generally don’t eat large meals and was only able to finish half of the box. Flavors were good overall, but I’ve had better California rolls elsewhere. The soda machine serves crushed ice, which is fantastic as I can’t find too many other places that do this. Overall, it’s a great restaurant and I’ll be back again to try some of their other sushi rolls.

On my lunch break I was driving around to find something to eat around the area. I see this place and check it on Unilocal. The reviews were good so I tried it. All I have to say is delicious! There food is really good and the store itself is very clean and spacious. The prices aren’t too bad but you get s lot for your buck. The meals are very fulfilling. I had the chicken teriyaki meal and I loved it. A really good place to try out and have some good food.

My foodie brother suggested we give this place a try. We chose the chicken breast bento special. It was a lot of food for under $ 10 each. The chicken breast was tender and cut up and the teriyaki sauce wasn’t overly sweet. We usually ask for sauce on the side, but there was just the right amount drizzled on top. The best thing about the bento special was the tempura mix. It was freshly made, light and panko-crispy and I could tell that clean, fresh oil was used for frying. The shrimp and assorted veggies tasted just like O-Bachan(Grandma) used to make! There was also California roll, macaroni salad, green salad with dressing, warm white rice, and hot miso soup too. If you prefer not to have sesame seeds on your food, items are made to order so you can«have it your way». Another case of diverticulosis averted! We asked about the tofu with dipping sauce that we saw being advertised on a counter sign after we ordered. They told us the tofu is cooked and we said it sounded like it would be tasty. When our take-out order was ready, the owner kindly included a sample of the tofu and dipping sauce. Now that’s the way to get repeat business. Thanks, Moana Grill for the great food and being so nice and accommodating. We’ll be back!

I like this place. The food may be a little pricey, but it’s fresh, cooked well, and delicious. We ordered the chicken teriyaki with brown rice, spicy tuna roll, and unagi(bbq eel) roll. All were yummy and in decent sized portions. The service fine. This is definitely a good spot to try if you’re in the area.

As you can see from the menu they offer Salads, Appetizers, Rolls, Plates Side orders and drinks and party platters. Ordered the Tempura California Roll, Teriyaki Chicken, Chicken Katsu and Sweet & Spicey Chicken. Each plate comes with the main item, Sauce for what you order if needed, rice and green salad with a shoyu dressing.
