I think this my first review. I only use Unilocal for directions and hours of operations because I think Unilocalers are typically entitled a$$hats. Anyhow, I came here on my honeymoon into Yellowstone and Glacier. Our server Joyce and bartender were incredible hospitable and gave great service. My wife and I both had the mushroom fricassee and it was incredible. Gone in seconds. We both had specials for our entrée. My wife had a penne pasta sans the shrimp because she’s a vegetarian. I had a steak with potatoes that had Gruyère and nutmeg(sounds crazy but it was amazing and not sweet like you might think). I always order medium rare. It was seriously perfect. A huge pile of garlic butter and grilled onions. All in all, small town, big flavor. Kudos to the staff.

The only really well-prepared food in Gardiner is found at the Raven Grill. We ate at many restaurants during our five-day stay in Yellowstone, and the food at all except Raven was terrible. If you are a foodie, this is the only place you should go to in Gardiner. All the rest of the restaurants use institutional canned or frozen food, poorly cooked. Fine if you just want calories. But if you want to really enjoy a quality meal, go to the Raven. Every dish we had was very tasty, well cooked, nicely served. Five stars for Gardiner, but I’m giving it four stars in comparison to the rest of the restaurants that I have eaten at.(Tough customer — I am a foodie who lives in the Bay Area.)

Good food. It isn’t fancy but the food is why you want to go here. Drinks were reasonably priced too

What a find in Gardiner, MT? Total surprise. Food, excellent, even superb. Bison sirloin with flathead cherry glacé, and a salmon on seafood hash, both awesome. Great service. Small menu helps make decision on meal. If none is familiar with Chico Hot Springs, the food is equal or even better, Chico, however has a better atmosphere. A return visit is in order.

Probably the best restaurant in town. Not too many many options but they serve really good dishes.

This place has amazing food and customer service. Bf and I got in late but they still served us and allowed us two drinks each. Was definitely satisfied w this place. Highly recommend. They will accommodate even if you’re arriving 30 mins prior to close.

Probably the best restaurant steak I’ve had in a very long time. I had the peppercorn steak and it was huge! Perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The vegetables were yummy and the potatoes were different than I’ve had before and very tasty. The service was very good, we didn’t lack for anything. Highly recommended

The food was awesome! I had the sliced coffee rub steak and my wife had the Mountain pasta Alfredo… and I had some too of course! Both meals were great I couldn’t ask for better. The only thing I wish I could change was to have a bigger stomach so I could eat more! Service was great too. I highly recommend stopping her for your next meal.

All I can say is wow, what a suprise. The steak was spectacular, salmon excellent. Don’t let the décor fool you. This place rocks…

Again, a quick review as it’s late. Everything was good. Had the kid size penne and meat sauce and it was huge. I’m a pasta snob, so I wasn’t in love with the dish, but it was fine. The stuffed chicken with the potato dauphinoise was delicious and the crazy pasta was really tasty too. The salads that came with the meal were delicious, but the crème brûlée was not very good. The food is spendy, the service was great, and the restaurant was clean and has a cool jukebox.

Amazing dinner. Lasagna, elk burger, buffalo steak. All fantastic and friendly service. You won’t expect it when you walk in but sit down and order. Wonderful for such a small town.

Tourist trap. Having said that, the food is pretty good. Higher end cuisine(and prices) in a cafeteria. Cut and dry, many better places to get elk and buffalo if u want to try some, this place has good to very good food at double and triple the price. Simple as that.

We were starving when we got into town so we decided to check out the grill which had good ratings on Unilocal. The service was fast and friendly. Food is so so. We ordered the chicken andouille sausage gumbo– decent and for the kids pasta with butter. Slightly overpriced for the ambience(basic) and food but didn’t expect too much in a town so close to wilderness.

Oh my goodness. Don’t let«saloon» distract you. Seriously one of the best meals I’ve had. The menu is refined but the atmosphere is very casual. Best meal we’ve had visiting Montana.

This food was so yummy! We left with satisfied and full belly! Delish!!! Service was on point. And the view of Yellowstone was beautiful! Will definitely recommend and return here for my duration here at Yellowstone!

Gardiner, Mont is not a culinary hot spot. Raven is an unusual exception. Food here would compete well in Bozeman or Boulder. Try the chicken and the Alfredo. Really good. The question is, why are these chefs here and not somewhere else?

I’m no gaming meat expert but I have had my fair share of restaurant dining and I’m overall disappointed with my restaurant selection this evening. A beautiful time spent in Yellowstone and passing through this quaint town, I saw it had 4 – 5 star review on Unilocal. The restaurant provided a nice ambiance with wildlife prizes mounted on several walls. The waitress was friendly and greeted us kindly. The food, however was nothing to rave about and now I understand why it’s called Raven. Large birds that dine on human garbage. If you are from Montana and you serve ELK and Buffalo, make sure you cook it to perfection. If not, take constructive criticism when a guest dines at your restaurant and not have them pay for a dish they try one bite. If you decide to order buffalo, let me save you $ 30 and get a bag of beef jerk at costco. At least it will have more flavor and the manager/cook doesn’t tell you he will still charge you for below average food. Perhaps you are having one of those off nights, yet don’t take your poorly prepared dish out on a customer because people will remember both good and poor experiences. If you want a cold brew, watch some sports then I would say it’s ok here yet for food, go elsewhere!

Surprisingly delicious. After working at Yellowstone and eating in the EDR for a couple weeks it was great to have a really scrumptious meal. Ask for Kevin. He was a great waiter.

Eh. I wouldn’t go back. We walked down to check it out based on the Unilocal reviews, and after seeing their adorable outdoor seating area, we were like«heck yeah!». So we sat down. Whoa — we didn’t realize how expensive the place was! We would’ve chosen otherwise just based off that, because we’d already had several fancy meals that week and were just looking for a casual restaurant, not an expensive one. Oh well, we were already sitting, so we decided to stay. Once looking at the menu, I was having a hard time, because I’m very picky. So when it came time to order, I asked the waiter if they could make some *simple* changes to a chicken entrée for me(i’m not allowed to have ANY liquor due to a medication I’m on, and also to eliminate something that i didn’t like), and he totally acted put-out. Like I was asking him to create me a lasagna from scratch in 10 minutes. I mean, not only did he act put-out, but he acted offended, too, like how dare I change the menu?! Listen here, waiter-man, let me remind you that you are in po-dunk-ville-USA. You are not in a 5-star restaurant in NYC. It was to the point of comedy, to be honest. Well, when the food arrived, it was just ok. It was seriously not worth the money they are charging. I only ate about of mine, and my Mom who usually loves pasta only about about of hers. She also stated it was just ok. Wait-staff was ok. Food was just ok. I wouldn’t come back.
