I just had one of the most unpleasant interactions with a business owner in my life. I had a faulty back up camera in my 2003 Monaco Diplomat. I knew enough to test the av cable, the main power, the ground, and the feed from the shifter telling the camera when I was in reverse. So to make the job easy, I removed the monitor and camera and took them to Bob. After berating me for not bringing in the whole coach as he «needed to check the wiring» I tried to explain that I had already done that. I just wanted him to test the monitor and camera, find out which was faulty, and order me whatever needed replacing. He was as rude as anyone I have ever met, told me to leave his shop, and that he didn’t want my business. After reading the rest of the reviews here, I now know why. I knew too much, and wasn’t going to give him the opportunity to rip me off.
Please do yourself a favor, avoid the inevitable insults from a clearly disturbed person, and help Gardnerville support quality business owners… Of which he is NOT.

Had this described accident in September of 2011.
Do not use this shop. Believe every word that these people have written on other reviews. Don’t take his word that ANY new parts are being installed. He did such a horrendous job on my RV collision repair that ALL of the body work had to be done over. In addition to that, what my insurance company termed «parts and labor charged for but not performed» to the tune of almost $ 3500, which the insurance company, («the Gekko»), paid back to me. He takes advantage of people who are passing through, break down, and make the mistake of coming here. Pretty slimy when ²⁄₃ of the $ 9400 job was either not done or had to be completely done over by acompetent and honest shop! My friend happened to stop here a few years back and the «knowledgeable» owner tried to sell him a different size tire after a blowout, saying that it wouldn’t make a difference. Both my friend and I live 400 miles from this shop, so what are the chances of that??? BEWARE OF THE OWNER AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, BELIEVE ME!! I wish I had been able to research both this creep and later found out he was a convicted felon already! Took him to the local Kangaroo Court and the guy shows up with absolutely no evidence or parts receipts (which the «judge» asked Bob for), where I had absolute proof (pictures and statements from the manufacturer that he didn’t buy my almost $ 2,000 bumper from them (the only place it could be obtained from) and PICTURES of the fiberglass repairs that he claimed was a brand new bumper from the manufacturer (the crook eve told me painted it for me to «be a nice guy», which wasn’t painted and I didn’t even like!), and the other shoddy repairs. One can only assume how or why the Court decision went against me.

Just so you know BOB is as crooked as they come and I years ago when I first moved here in 2001 made the huge MISTAKE of taking my vehicle there on several occasions before I learned the hard way… While at the time he had a very talented exhaust guy who was very honest Bob tried to make him cut corners and if I could use an explicitive word I would but he refused to and I witnessed Bob getting very upset with him… I never forgot his name either but furthermore he refused to order a custom part for my exhaust that I went to a competitor that he originally told me was not available but then was upset when I bought it from them… He then proceeded to charge me $ 830 for an non mandrel bent exhaust system that was worth less than half that after saying that he would use that type of pipe originally but it would cost more which for that price should have been but then came back with this if I had used mandrel it would have been thousands… Really! Ok so I gave him another shot at fixing a drive line on an awd car which was to replace center support bearings which at the time should have been easy to acquire and do… Well, after a wek I went over there and my car sat in the same place and he said «oh we are waiting on the part» another week went by same thing car never moved and it sat there 3^rd week and I said I want my car back now and he said oh I got the part be ready tomorrow… It was $ 450 dollars and I took the car home. mind you i was only doing this on his recommendation when the exhaust was completed. well a year later I had an issue with the car that required me to take it to the dealer for a recalled transfer case and the dealer said that the center supports were going to need replacing soon but were ok for now and I told him they were replaced a year ago and went 10 years before that why are they needed now. he said what those were never replaced they were original… I happened to be reading reviews and thought i wonder what Bob’s performance is doing these days… I decided to write this now because you know what this man has NO business being in business he is a CROOK pure and simple CROOK… I will call it to his face if i ever see him… I AM AN HONEST MAN AND BOB IS A CROOK… HE SHOULD BE IN JAIL AND DOUGLAS COUNTY SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR ISSUING HIM A BUSINESS LIC BUT IN DOUGLAS COUNTY DOESN’T SO CROOKS LIKE THIS ONE ARE ALLOWED TO OPERATE THIS WAY! The lady is very nice. As for Bob the owner… a complete idiot. I asked them to get a price on an exhaust and let me know. I specifically told them not to buy anything cause I don’t know if I want to purchase it right now. What does he do, buys the exhaust and then calls me to tell me we will be ready for you Saturday. Well… I had found one cheaper on ebay, so I called them as quickly as I could and told them to hurry and cancel so they don’t get charged. So I still wanted them to install my exhaust on saturday that I purchased but I installed it Thursday and when I called to cancel on friday… before I told them I installed it they said they didn’t want my business. Like its my fault that fat dope. I hope you don’t go here because they don’t listen and Bob is a disrespectful fat pig who shouldn’t have a business.

The worst place imaginable! Took my family car there, not only did they replace the wrong part, they used electrical tape instead of a metal clamp on my axles CV boot, grease leaked all over my brakes. When I went back to show him pictures and get my money back he cussed me out. Whatever you do never ever take your car to bobs performance! Bad service, bad work and incompetent.

I took my Motor home to Bob to fix levelers won’t go down are up. found out when I picked the motor home up that all it was a lose wire under dashboard he just plugged it in cost me $ 275 2.5 hrs to repair this will be the last time I take my motor home to him He is a very dishonest person

Business must be so good for Bob he doesn’t need any more. I need new awning fabric installed on my travel trailer. I stopped in to inquire price’s and Bob said he needed the EXACT model number, etc, to give me a estimate. Fair enough, so far. I went home and extended my awning and took a picture of the factory sticker that has the EXACT info he needed. I printed this info, drove back to Bob’s and the girl at the counter wrote my name and phone number on my printed info picture and promised Bob will call me with a quote. That was two weeks ago… No call to date! Camping World is 1 ½ hour from Reno, here I come. So much for trying to buy local…

If I could give this business negative stars I would. Service was horrendous, the owner is a not forth coming or truthful. My vehicle that had its engine rebuilt, never worked quite right. I would stay away. Check your local better business office, there is multiple complaints. Oh and the 5 star rating is from the owner.

My wife took our 2007 Chevy 2500HD to Bob’s as we had never owned a Diesel truck before. She said he was quite cold to her and things got worse when she handed Bob her cell phone so he could explain things to me. Very standoff-​ish and short with me. He kind of had the «don’t question me» attitude and my wife felt she was treated like a «woman» as opposed to a paying customer. We ended up a Christensen’s in Minden and are very happy. Lance and Lori are great and explain everything in detail.

I met the owner (Bob) ten years ago when I worked at a local business in Gardnerville which he visited occasionally. My boss would gab with Bob about cars since he was a car enthusiast, too, and Bob always seemed like a decent enough guy when he came in. I guess after having met him a few times, I thought he seemed trustworthy. Big mistake!
My car needed an oil change and I thought it would be better to take it to someone I knew rather than to just the Jiffy Lube down the street. I also was taught that it was better to give a little business to a small local shop rather than a big generic chain.
(And, if he hadn’t ended up screwing me over, I probably would have taken my future cars to him for the rest of the foreseeable future. It may not have been a ton of money, but aren’t satisfied, repeat customers the goal in small business?)
Little did I know that this person I *thought* was a decent guy would end up being a real jerk who likes to take advantage of young women (or whoever else he thinks he might be able to get a fast one by).
I ended up walking out the door with a bill of well over $ 300 and all sorts of suggested repairs and replacements that he scared me into thinking were «necessary.» Of course, the cost of these additional repairs wasn’t mentioned when I was being told how many things I needed to have fixed on my car in order to keep it from just up and dying right in the middle of the highway. He made it sound dire and made me feel as though I’d nearly ruined my own car by not replacing all of these things long ago. I shouldn’t have listened.
I was shocked when I was presented with the invoice. I didn’t know what to say; after all, I hadn’t thought to really ask how much the stuff would all cost added up, and I had walked in there expecting to pay for an oil change. I ended up just coughing up the majority of my savings, not knowing what else to do.
Later I showed the itemized invoice to my dad and to another male friend who are both «car guys.» They both told me I got completely suckered. In retrospect, I wondered why my dad didn’t actually go down there and have a little talk with Bob himself. (I think maybe Dad was trying to get me to learn an important life lesson there — be careful, because some people will screw you over any way they can, even if they «seem» decent in the beginning.)
I didn’t really know better, and Bob could clearly see that and took advantage. Here I was, trying to give a small local business my patronage, and it turns out he’s definitely undeserving of any business whatsoever. What a pig.
