Had lunch here on a Saturday. The place was not busy at all– one other table besides us. I ordered their banh cuon which is a thin, wide sheet of rice batter filled with a mixture of seasoned ground pork and different vegetables. It comes with fish sauce that you pour all over it. I really enjoyed my meal and the service was great. I would return!

Heard this was the place to get some tasty banh cuon. I believed it used to be located in the shopping center. The banh cuon was good as I expected hearing from others. Their food is not as great though. I got bun mang vit(duck bamboo noodles). The soup broth lack of seasoning. I usually don’t like my soup with lots of seasoning, but this was very plain. I tried adding siracha, lemon, pepper, and fish sauce but it didn’t help. The bamboo had a very strong smell that I didn’t like. Is had a lot of the duck meat though. Service isn’t great either. But I would come back for the banh cuon alone.

Bun gà nuong 1⁄5. Grilled chicken breast was too dry. Flavor was ok. Bun bo hue 4⁄5. Its broth was very good. Blood cubes were yumny. Che 3 mau 2⁄5. Not too terrible. Comparing to Che 3 mau at Saigon Noodles Steak House which deserves a solid 5⁄5. Banh beo chen 4⁄5. Khoai lang chien tom 2⁄4.

I came here with a very large group(my family) — I think there were 10 of us or so. I came in around 1PM late February 2016. I ordered some rice dish with pork(I wish I remembered, but my memory is poor). It was OK — nothing stood out about it obviously. We did order the«banh beo» appetizer, which I have NEVER had before(that I recall)…and it was definitely unique! It was REALLYGOOD! I REGRET not ordering what they’re KNOWNFOR/the name of the place: «Banh Cuon». My grandfather ordered it and it looked good. ONTOP of that, he didn’t even finish it… so I stole it. What I did notice is that service is lacking SEVERELY. I think the waitresses only spoke Vietnamese… so be aware. And the crawfish there is kind of expensive??? Not sure though. Would I come back? Eh. Probably not if I had some say-in. But Sunday meals are sometimes decided by the elders, AKA… NOTME!

Went here for lunch and everything was good. We all got banh uot in a different way and all were delicious. Banh Beo came in 6 small plates and was good. The candy with peanut at the cashier was good. Highly recommend this place for banh uot.

I was having a craving for crawfish and having been to every place in the DFW area I decided to give this place a try. While ordering the spicy crawfish I saw someone eating something called bang cuon tom chat which is like rice paper with dried shrimp inide. Along with the bean sprouts, fried shrimp, fish sauce and meatball slices. I’ve never had it and it was like a flavor explosion in my mouth. Then the crawfish came out. While a little small and not really hot it was swimming in some of the best garlic sauce around. Definitely worth a try. Will be coming back to this place soon for the phở!

The food is awesome. The banh beo and banh xeo s delicious. The staff are very friendly and smiled the whole time. It was also great they spaced out bringing dishes to the table so everything was warm and fresh. I’ll definitely be back.

This place is amazing. By appearance you would never know what deliciousness awaits you. The rice paper, the fish sauce, the proteins… So well made. The restaurant is clean. Locally owned and operated. Close to the golf course, i would have never resorted to this place, but in my encounter, i have to say I remain a loyal customer. Their chef takes pride in their food and it shows. Highly recommend

Their banh cuon continues to be good, just like when they were located in the Saigon Mall complex. Prices are cheap, and the portions seem kind of small when they come out, but it’s surprisingly filling. I tend to get their specialty banh cuon when I come, and I’m never disappointed. Food Is consistent, which is important. Of course, my review is based on their banh cuon alone since I have not tried their crawfish. Based on what I’ve seen and heard, I do not plan to try their crawfish — the crawfish themselves seem small and I’ve heard that it’s not very well-seasoned.

TIP: Always get the namesake dish at a hole-in-the-wall. I’m always confused by reviews for these types of places where people say the phở or bun Bo Hue wasn’t good and dismiss the place altogether. Not every Vietnamese place specializes in those dishes — they get added to the menu to appease the masses. You can’t really use them to universally judge quality. It’s like going to a burger place and then giving it 1 star because the salad wasn’t great. If you want to know what to order, read the sign! Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by this spot. I am a bit of a banh cuon snob and hadn’t really found a go-to in the DFW area yet. This might be it. Got two orders of the banh cuon Thang Long to go early on a Saturday morning. Thin, tender rice crepes made fresh to order filled with ground pork and ground shrimp, topped with fried shallots. Nice mix of bean sprouts, shredded cucumber and perilla on the side. Also came with a sweet potato and shrimp fritter, and Vietnamese mortadella. Really delicious! My only critique would be the fritter was a bit heavy on the batter and light on the sweet potato. Also, seems the owners have addressed a lot of the critiques from Unilocal.I sat inside while waiting 5 – 10 minutes for my order. Décor was nothing special but tables, chairs, and floor were clean. TVs were on. Since it was early, other customers were middle-aged and older Vietnamese men sitting outside over coffee and cigarettes philosophizing(typical clientele for Vietnamese spots at that hour of day!). Order didn’t take too long to come out considering it was made to order. Owner was very nice and accommodating. Worth checking out! I’d suggest going for brunch or lunch on a weekend. Spots like this tend to have the best quality of food earlier in the day and when here is high turnover. Happy I don’t have to hold out for sporadic visits to Houston or SoCal for banh cuon!

Love this place. Best banh cuon. I really like the spring rolls there. I always have to order it. It’s so good. I haven’t try the crawfish though. It’s a mom and pop kind of place. I definitely respect business. I love coming here.

The food is just Ok, their crawfish isnt any special However, their customer service really sucks I walked in, n they just looked at me, even bother to say«give us 1 sec» or «I’ll be right w/u» It was more like a self-serving place that I got to pick my own seat, nobody really helped me Then I waited tooooo long n when I decided to ask why too long, they said«oh I thought u wanted to-go» duh. They already got me water on the table. Next time when u lie, be smarter When I finished my crawfish, I ordered 1 banh cuon Thanh Long They brought it out, but didnt bother to look or clean my fully messed up table even though it wasnt too busy(only 2 tables at that time) U can say I’m too picky, but I always prioritize customer service of any businesses This place, they dont have any customer service at all

I’ve eaten here twice now and I really enjoy the food. We always order the crawfish and it never disappoints. Their Vietnamese fare is pretty tasty as well. Although, I have yet to try their phở, so I can’t comment on that, but their steamed rice crêpe is delicious.

I like having my BanhCuon here! Their BanhCuon is better than other places that I’ve been to, not AMAZING, but still good. Haven’t tried their crawfish, but I’ve heard good comments about it, so might be next time. The reason why I rated it 3 stars instead of 4 is because their balcony is so dirty, they should put some work in it tho. I love the fact that I can bring my dog here and sit outside, but FORREAL their outside-seats are just too dirty to sit on! IMPROVETHAT, THENYOU’LLBEGREAT!

I took my family here, because of the mixed reviews. I’m Vietnamese, and all I can say is that this place is not good. I’ll keep this brief. — Phở is supposed to be cooked for a long time. When you eat phở and taste the broth, you can tell whether its been cooked well by how rich the broth tastes. The phở is bland and does not taste good. — The banh cuon special is okay. The Vietnamese pork should be warmed up with the rest of the dish and not served cold. Also, the batter for the fried foods is too thick — and tastes«overused.» — The crawfish is pretty bad. The seasoning is bland. Definitely DONOT waste your money. — The fried rice is bland. Tastes like fried rice from a Chinese fast food restaurant. Two additional things that made me not like this place: 1. While my family decided on what to order, we ordered 2 lbs of crawfish as an appetizer. So we were surprised when the crawfish(which was ordered 10 minutes before as an appetizer) came out with the rest of the food. 2. There were 5 of us. How come my sister’s fried rice dish came out 20 – 25 minutes after the rest of us got our food? This is totally unacceptable. I’d rather wait for everyone’s meal to come out«late» than have to someone wait for their food while everyone else is eating. I’m going to pass right on by this place when I’m in town next.

Whenever I visit this place, I usually get their special«banh cuon thanh long» and«banh beo» as an appetizer. When this place used to be inside the Saigon Mall supermarket, food seems to taste better. After their relocation outside of the market, food hasn’t always been consistent. Sometimes it’s good and there are days it’s not so fresh. There’s not many places that sell banh cuon; I would still come back if there’s a craving.

By far the best Phô my tongue, and taste buds have ever experienced. Family owned, humble, and authentic! The negative experiences puzzle me for I had a great, and wonderful time here. I would like to see everyone start supporting small businesses for they are the backbone of any bit of nutrition left in the states.

I’m pretty sure this place is on its way out. My last visit was not pleasant. When they first moved into this building, I thought they were going to spend money to remodel. Nope, they kept it like it was(used to be a long john silver?) anyway, never had their crawfish but I cant imagine it taste any better than their banh cuon now. I ordered the shrimp banh cuon and it came out cold. It’s not suppose to be cold if they freshly made it. The flavor wasn’t as good as it used to be. My mom ordered hu tieu and it was super salty. Broth wasn’t flavorful either. I don’t know if I’ll ever come back. It sounded fishy when they merge a crawfish together with banh cuon

Tony’s Crawfish Banh Cuon Thang Long is a Vietnamese restaurant with a ridiculously long name because it’s actually two restaurants in one. I’ll be focusing on Banh Cuoon Thang Long, which specializes in banh cuon, a Vietnamese rice cake traditionally served with pork and fish sauce. My Overall Rating — 3 ½ Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — Banh Cuon Thang Long used to be in a mall, but moved to a standalone restaurant. The biggest advantage is space, but there really isn’t much here. It’s like a converted restaurant where no changes have been made. I’m hoping this is transitional as there’s an opportunity here. There are many new Vietnamese places popping up with great interiors. ½ Star. Service — Our service was great. We had a big party and they never skipped a beat. Orders were quickly taken, they swung by to check on us, and all in all no issues here. Now the restaurant wasn’t full, so not sure how they are with a crowd, but for us it was great. 1 Star. Food — There are certain Vietnamese places I will go to just to eat one thing. When it comes to banh cuon, this is it. The rice cakes can be ordered with or without pork inside. The banh cuon had a good texture and the pork was seasoned well. I also ordered it with grilled pork. Good grilled flavor but a bit tough. Another bonus is each dish comes with a sweet potato shrimp cake. These were a bit thick for my taste, but it’s rare to find this dish so they get bonus. Lastly, we ordered banh beo, which is a thicker rice cake with minced shrimp. The presentation was really great, but the cakes were also thick. In the end, it was good, not great. But since there are few places in Dallas that serve good banh cuon they get bonus. 1 ½ Star. Will I Return? — Only when I’m wanting banh cuon. There are places in Houston that are much better, but in Dallas the choices are slim. Still Tony’s Crawfish Banh Cuon Thang Long gets my business for banh cuon cravings but nothing else. ½ Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score
