We have dive bars, why not dive restaurants? Bob’s is thirty five years old and looks it. Not a place to take the in-laws to impress them. But the meal I had was good, clam basket, plenty of clams, fries and one of the best cole slaws I have ever had. Service was fast and friendly. Why not five stars, well just like a dive bar the restroom could have used some detailing.

Bob’s is not my normal scene or somewhere I would’ve chosen myself, but my dad and his side of the family go here every Friday for catfish. I tagged along this past week and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. The environment is extremely casual and is more of a dive restaurant. It’s in the middle of the Georgetown park so it’s also pretty hidden. The service at Bob’s is phenomenal. The owner and his son were both working the night we ate, and our server was incredibly kind and attentive. She knew everyone in my family by name and asked about family that wasn’t in attendance. She checked up on our table constantly. The food itself is good. If we’re comparing catfish restaurants, I would say Catfish Parlour in Georgetown has more flavor, but it’s still a decent choice. The catfish and beans didn’t have as much flavor as I would have preferred. The catfish was also crunchy and were smaller filets with less meat on it. However, they do have an all you can eat option so that may or may not matter to you. Their hours are very limited they close at 8pm on the weekends. You need to make sure to get there early and be okay with eating dinner around 6 or 7pm.

Just ate hear for the first time after hearing from MANY folks that it was a great place to eat. We enjoyed it so much. Everything was great, felt like home, service was wonderful, staff was friendly. I suggest if ya just wanna go sit with family and friends without all the craziness of a chain restaurant go here. I look forward to many more meals at Bob’s! Sincerely, Melissa H.

Went there for the 1st time last night at the suggestion of friends who live in the area. Boy am I glad I went, not easy to find but well worth the effort to get there. Cole slaw was awesome, which are two words I’ve never used in the same sentence up till today. The beans were also very good & I’m told it’s all you can eat catfish on Friday nights. This could easily take the place of Friday pizzas.

I enjoy my catfish thin and crispy and Bob’s delivers. Unfortunately there is no beer to be had, but the coleslaw is pretty awesome. Certainly a place in Georgetown that you have to try out. Get a pound to go with sides and go sit at a picnic table on the river which is just right there. Great place.

Even if you don’t like fish, just try it.(Also, if you’re too chicken to try the fish, they have chicken.). My catfish and shrimp were cooked perfectly. The breading was caramelized and crisp so that I was worried the meat would be over cooked but the meat was just. So. Right. It was deep fried, but not greasy. The folks in the kitchen REALLY know what they’re doing. They use corn meal, so if you have a wheat allergy, you’re safe here. The slaw is touted as the best in Texas. I can buy it. It’s not like any slaw I’ve ever had before. It’s very slightly sweet, the ingredients are very fresh. Definitely a nice, light, balance to the fish and the hush puppies. The fries are nothing special. They aren’t bad, just normal. That’s the worst thing I can say about my meal. I would have liked it if there were grilled options, but they really know what they’re doing with that fryer. The hours are limited, so you need to make an effort to get here.(«Here» being on the edge of San Gabriel Park. Which is a great place to walk off your meal.) But it’s worth the effort.

Family owned and operated for over 30 years, the food and service are great! Homemade coleslaw and catfish… can’t beat it.

Off the beaten path… but expectedly tasty. Fried food that is not greasy is oddly hard to find, but it exists at Bob’s Catfish n More. Simple food done well is the mark of a good restaurant and this place has it. Order the large catfish basket… you’ll be left wanting more if you order the small one. Check it out!

I ate here as part of a free seminar. Food was good. Restaurant is old, but definately not a chain restaurant. Prices seemed a little high compared to Catfish Parlour. It is a little out of the way.

I was expecting fillets rather than nuggets, however they were good. Loved the cole slaw and the beans were flavorless. I have a feeling from no one else being there that this place may not be around much longer which is a shame as it has great potential. Good luck!

I’m not a fish eater(especially catfish) but my wife and her family love it so they loved coming here. It was never too busy. I would get the chicken fried steak which was pretty good, and the tea was great. Beans were delish as well.
