Had the chopped steak, it was on special for the day. The patty looked exactly like the hamburger patty. For $ 10? Unacceptable.

I went in on Sat for a burger. It was excellent. Sarah was my waitress and she was great as always. The food was good, service was excellent and the new owner seems very nice. I’m glad I stopped in and will def be back soon.

Had the ham sandwich– little meat. Nothing special. Dessert had too much filler in the pie. Food is going down. The service is still good. We’ll give it one more try. Had the vegetable beef soup. Just say no. It’s not as good– missing flavors. Sad.

Not the same anymore! NEWOWNERS! Food was just ok. They have replaced some items with cheap ones. The bread used to be a nice wheat, but now its the .89 a loaf crap! NONO! It looks plain now. Desserts are cut smaller with way more icing but still charge the same. They aren’t cooking when ordered anymore. They microwaved my potato cakes! Which were soggy lot crunchy. When I said something he just smiled. I’m guessing the new owner knows little english. I don’t have to go back any longer!

Omg. I took some out of town company for lunch to give them a taste of Georgetown. This tea room was so shabby I was shocked. Every chair had holes and black duct tape the floor was very dirty. The food was just ok. Nothing like I had in the past. The showcase was dirty and very cluttered. The wait staff all had various clothes not very professional. Please do Georgetown proud and spend some money and spruce this once good tea room to former glory

Don’t be in a hurry if you plan on eating here. Food is decent but over priced. The service is SLOW. The owner takes forever to take your order.

Really had to think about this one. If you don’t mind a Jekyll and Hyde owner who pours on the charm to diners while snapping at and belittling her very sweet staff, then this is the place for you. They also don’t seem to be allowed to take orders, just serve the food – tips, anyone? The food is OK, but I have to disagree with another reviewer – can’t make up for an atmosphere that puts knots in your stomach. Easy to fix, though – be nice to your staff and help them develop the skills they need to work in the industry.

My wife insisted that we try this place, because her friends like it. I’d never go back. I found the food just average, the service was slow, and they got our order wrong(even after we waited a very long time), and I thought it was a bit over priced. As for the«charming» owner, she seemed overbearing to her staff, but that is not the reason for 2 stars. While i agree, employers should be nice to their staff, that is not the purpose of a review– unless the way she is treating them makes you feel extremely uncomfortable. The 2 stars in this review are a reflection of quality of service, food, and value for the money.

Had lunch here today. Food was wonderful. Today’s special was shrimp quiche. Flaky crust and flavorful. Also had the corn poblano soup. Just the right amount of fire. Attentive wait staff. Great place right off the square. Popular so had a small wait. Clears out around 1:30.

I have been going here for years. The food is usually very good and fresh. I gave three stars for the fact that the owner Cherry is very rude and disrespectful to her staff and husband. You can feel the tension when you are there. I have personally seen her be very ugly to her staff for no reason right in front of all the customers. I no longer go eat at the tea room due to her unprofessional behavior. Her wait staff is excellent given the chance but she seems to be a bit of a control freak. Hopefully soon she will figure out why so many are no longer going to her tea room to eat.

Fabulous, fabulous comfort food. Every time. Rodger & Cherry are super great, super attentive to the customer’s every need. She speaks firmly with her wait staff but they must not mind because it’s the same ladies working every time I go. Got my lunch to go today. I highly recommend the chicken salad, broccoli salad, whatever the quiche of the day is, and whatever the soup of the day is. It is all yummy! The sweet tea and flavored teas are delicious too!

This is my go-to place since I work on the square. I know I can find something healthy here. I wish prices were a little lower but I realize this is a mom and pop shop so whatever. I enjoy their quiche’s except for the seafood ones. It certainly tasted like seafood but did not see any kid of seafood in there. And their menu changes every week. A lot of times I don’t like their selection of soups for that week(clam chowder. ugh) so I don’t go at all. But usually their food is pretty good if you’re into quiches, salads, and soups.

I just walked by this place and decided to pop in one afternoon, and I’m so glad I did. Although there are very limited vegetarian options, what they do offer for lacto-ovo vegetarians is amazing. Additionally, the service is very friendly and prompt. I typically go for the egg salad, side salad, fruit, and a desert. I usually have water with my meals but the lemonade is worth it!

We tried this place because of the great pics and Unilocal reviews, sure glad we did. My better half had the Noah’s combo, which consists of one choice from combo list A and one choice from combo list B… in her case it was a very tasty half chicken salad sammy(A) and a cup of fruit(B), i went with Morgan’s trio combo which lets you pick one from list A and 2 from list B, loved all three choices i made, quiche of the day which was called Savannah… provolone and swiss cheeses and onion and breaded fried tomatoes… this was awesome, the broccoli salad was topnotch, and i had the creamed cilantro soup, and a lip smacking pumpkin struesel muffin. They have lots of different choices on three different combo meals, the unsweet tea was as good as the stellar service, they made us feel right at home. This place fills up for lunch so come early… like 11 a.m. or after 2 p.m. We will definitely come for more of these goodies… may try the a burger next time.

I’m not sure why this place is called a tearoom. It has none of the typical tearoom trappings except kitschy plates on the walls and tables full of women. The only tea I saw was iced. Anyway, on to the review. The lady who sat us was very nice — maybe a little too much. But I was put off by her very unprofessional Styx concert tshirt and the hodge podge attire of the staff. At one point, a girl walked through the full dining room with a dripping wet container of silverware and she and another employee sat and rolled it right there. The dining room itself tries to be cute, but ends up being tired, especially with the dusty fake ficus and half assed holiday décor. My son and I both had the chicken pot pie special. It was served with a Ceasar salad and a roll. The salad dressing was really nice, but came on the side, which is unusual for Caesar salad. The pot pie was ok. Not great. The top crust was soggy and the vegetables seemed to be either frozen or canned. The chicken had a nice flavor though. The best part was the peach cobbler a la mode we shared, but there was a large chunk of top crust that was burnt. Overall, it was just average. The shabbiness of the building and staff makes me think I won’t be in a big rush to go back.

Decent place a little pricey for a diner but I am guessing because they have to pay town square realty prices. Food was ok but nothing amazing.

Very good food. Egg salad was very fresh and full of flavor. Cobb salad was perfect, especially with the homemade blue cheese dressing. Muffin hit the spot.

The 5 star reviews are spot on! This place is amazing. We’ve been living in Georgetown for a year and our biggest regret is that it took us a year to find this place! As soon as we walked in, the servers greeted us and sat us promptly. Our server was very nice & personable. They have daily quiche specials, weekly soup & salad specials. I ordered a combo plate with half a chicken salad sandwich, fruit cup, and broccoli salad. They have various combos you can pick & choose from. The broccoli salad is fresh broccoli with nuts, golden raisins, & I believe bacon. Seriously so good. Chicken was yummy, not earth shattering but still very enjoyable. Fruit salad was better than your typical fruit salad. Lots of different fruits. Comes with choice of roll, cornbread muffin, or applesauce muffin. I chose the applesauce muffin and it was incredible. Soft, nutty, and warm! Husband got their burger because menu said«Like no other burger in Georgetown» It totally delivered. Super fresh tasting and on top are these buttery soft rolls! In love! Flavored teas. They have a variety of desserts but we didn’t get one today. Cute little owners who are super friendly. They offer a military discount! We are definitely trying this place again!

These reviews are all on point(except for the one star one where the person got mad about the«coup» they suffered due to unclear prices + tax… for real?) This place was super yummy! Due to some navigational errors on my part, we were just looking for a Starbucks on our way home from Austin(which was never found) but we decided to get lunch somewhere so we followed the sign for«shopping and dining.» I love a small town square so we strolled a bit and found Laurie’s. I got the quiche of the day(green chili chicken) and tortilla soup. The quiche was cheesy and popped with the green chili flavor and corn and the crust was delicious. The soup was super smokey and a bit spicy(sometimes food like this can be kinda bland so I was pleasantly surprised.) The corn muffin was good as was the yeast roll(I got my husband’s.) He had the chicken salad and cheesey potato soup and said they were both great, too. Two tasty lunches with coffee and tea and only $ 20? Love it even more! The service was on point, I swear they refilled my iced tea every time I took a sip!

I ABSOLUTELYLOVETHISPLACE! My absolute favorite place to eat in Georgetown! The chicken salad is to die for. Quiche you would die for, cobb salads made 100% the right way with fresh ingredients, sandwiches, soups, and so many other things. Good service, relaxed atmosphere. Every detail has been noticed and tended to.
