Chili’s

Good food and service at a fair price. Usually food is served hot but there have been a couple of instances where my food arrived at room temperature. Does not always appeal to all of my senses. At times when I walk in, the place smells as if it has just been cleaned. When I go to a restaurant, I want to smell great food not cleaning solution. However, thumbs up for cleanliness!

Went on a family road trip to Austin that was single handedly destroyed by Chili’s fajitas. Arrived St Patty’s night. The restaurant was not overly busy but our food took forever. When they brought it out they dropped the my order of fajitas in front of my wife, the wrong person at the table to begin with. When the food runner set them down, he actually dropped the hot skillet and my wife luckily jumped out of the way, pulling my 3-​year-​old out of danger too. This is forgivable. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years and this stuff happens. No harm, no foul. They quickly (perhaps too quickly) brought out another order of fajitas and I ate them of course. At about 4 a.m. I woke up with severe stomach pains and began the evacuation of said fajitas from both ends. The only thing else I had eaten that day were pancakes and my traditional road trip snacks, gummy works and almonds. Everyone else had eaten the same thing and no one else got sick. The only difference was the fajitas. My brother also had the fajitas and got sick, but not as bad as me. He threw up, but felt «ok» by noon the next day. I continued my battle until the puking subsided at about 6 p.m. that next evening. My wife said she only thought it was possible on cartoons, but at one point my face was green. 14 hours of hell in a hotel room, while my family’s vacation was put on hold. It has now been over two days, 2 bottles of Pepto, a dozen immodium AD, active charcoal, a lot of Gatorade and water. I am still dealing with the «other end» issues. This one fateful trip ruined our vacation and I doubt I will ever be able to manage a meal at any Chili’s again.

Let me start by saying that Chili’s is the last place on my list to eat at. But I thought I would give it a try again since the remodel. When I arrived I waited at the front for about 5 minutes before I was seated. Apparently they don’t use a hostess anymore or not one scheduled, the bartender finally came over and seated me. After several minutes she came back to take my drink order because my waiter hadn’t come by my table. Finally Cisco showed up and asked what I wanted to drink after someone else got it.
I ordered the baby back ribs with Dr. Pepper sauce. I know that this is not the place to order ribs. After all they are baked in the oven and finished on a grill top. They were ok, but a little to sweet for me. The waiter checked on me only once and only refilled my drink once. I was able to get my check pretty quickly. Over all I realized why I don’t eat here

Food is good but really what happened? Metrosexual music and bland walls is this «modern»? Some things just dont need to change to suit the new generations.

This restaurant has completed it’s remodeling looks much better. They remodeled their service with it and ours was excellent, salmon was great. They seem to have changed their skillet queso recipe and not for the better. It was bland and even texture was off. Otherwise the meal was satisfactory.

Lunch was fabulous! Son had salmon and shrimp. Husband had triple play with a side of grilled asparagus and tomatoes. I had mango chicken. Everyone raved about it. We left fat, full and satisfied. Our waitress Ann was great! I highly recommend.

The food was what you expect from a chilis. What stuck out was the service. Can’t remember my servers name but it always leaves a good impression on me when I never have to ask or wait for a refill. Prompt friendly staff and quick turn around on my order.

Perfect, they always give you so much food. Love this place.
