I didn’t think the food was all that great and when I got the check I was really mad charging $ 12 for one little glass of Moscato wine I can go to specs and get a whole bottle for $ 12

I had been to this place about 8 months ago and just went back. It has improved so much! I had the Asian fried shrimp as an appetizer. It was delicious and enough for a meal and to take some home. The servers were attentive. Certainly a good place for a drink and appetizers or a burger. This place should consider a live music night.

We were really looking forward to trying out George’s On The Town. We ordered the guacamole and a Mexican martini. It was one of the oddest Mexican martinis I’ve ever had. It was really thick & pulpy. Not sure if it was meant to be like this or not, but I definitely wouldn’t order it again. The guacamole tasted good, but you got a very small amount for the price. It was half an avocado, grilled, with some pico on top of it. My main problem with it is the avocado wasn’t ripe, so it was hard, and you had to scoop it out of the peel yourself. For the price that was charged, we definitely shouldn’t have had to make our own guacamole.

Well, that was a very pleasant surprise. Ambience was good. Service was really good(Isaac). Food was delicious. We look forward to next time! BTW, don’t let the empty parking lot at the«front» of the building fool you. The entrance is at the back, and there are plenty of parking spots.

The food we’ve had is good, with a wide array of choices. Some in our party thought the prices were a little high, and it took us a while to get our food. Will still go back.

Was surprised when I walked in the door, thought it would be more upscale. A little limited menu for entrees, with a Tex Mex bent with a lot of peppers and spices. Had a hamburger and it was good. Dessert was crazy, they must lose money on everyone they sell. Upside down sunday was huge, so big that even I could not finish it. Waitress was great and very helpful answering questions about the menu. Did notice service seemed to slow down for others as they came in after us, but we were early and it was great. One other thing, if you want to carry on a conversation on football night asked to be seated towards the back. The fans in the bar get very excited.

Got here early and had a late lunch, was not expecting our server to still have bedhead but alas he did. Ordered French dip sandwiches for 12 bucks a plate. What we got was sandwich made from a breadstick. It was great, what little of it there was. NOTIMPRESSED $ 31 for two appetizer sized sandwiches is not what I was expecting. NOTIMPRESSED

Not much on the service ordered the wings and not a good idea. Who wants wings that damn big and burnt so it’s not even fun to eat. Did not have good flavor either. Stopped here for dinner while looking for good places. Beer selection is ok. Going to tell the people in my office don’t waste your money. That’s what I get for being new here. good luck. Going to find another place because I didn’t eat the wings.

The food was very good and the service was top notch. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the prices are a little high. They moved the only entrance to the back side of the building by the patio area since that’s where the majority of the parking is, great idea. The lettuce cup street tacos were very tasty and priced well, you get three and you can choose from fiesta or pacific rim, I went with the fiesta sautéed pork… they were very good, especially since I needed a low carb option, then I blew it by swapping my wife a taco for half of her French Dip Sammy… very tasty… the au jus and fries made this a great meal… I think the Dip Sammy is a little over priced at 12 bucks though. We enjoy eating at places that act like they appreciate your business, our server made us feel that way… this place is similar to Jack Allen’s but with a smaller menu. Love the bar area, had 4 big TVs side by side, you can watch 4 different football games simultaneously.

The food was great! The service? Not so much. When we arrived the service was good, but half way through our meal, about the time we both needed our drinks refreshed, our waiter forgot about us. He later apologized, explaining that they had a rush, but 11 tables and 3 waiters does not constitute a rush in my book! I’ve waited tables. 4 tables per person is not a heavy load by any stretch of the imagination! These were 2 — 6 customers per table, not a huge party of 15. I have been told a few times that service at all restaurants in the Austin area is slow to bad. I say, «Why do Austin area diners put up with that?» You go to a restaurant to be served! Good service should be a minimum requirement!

I like it. I was very excited when it first opened… But it has a very chain feel is what I have come to find out. I could just go to Apple bees for the same price… Better drink selection and beer selection for sure tho!

I like George’s and we go there every week for the A&M watch parties, which they do a good job with. It’s hit or miss with the hostesses. They have quite a few staff who do not greet the guests coming or leaving. Things I like: good gluten free menu, good variety, good bar menu, great burgers, crispy fries, and decently priced. Their gluten free buns are great if they are well toasted. The gluten free burgers and sandwiches are really good most of the time. Things I don’t like: It’s inconsistent. Tea last 2 times has been super strong, waiters are not educated in gluten free fare(good thing I am), gluten free bread is soggy is not well toasted(this is true of all gf bread, you gotta toast it!) Anything grilled is always super charred(takes away from the taste). I keep going back because I like the concept and I like the food on a good night.

Feels like an upscale Denny’s. The cheese plate was anything but sophisticated. Felt like it belonged at some bar’s Oktoberfest. The TVs made me feel like I was at Applebee’s. The deconstructed salad was terrible. Talk about no flavor. Iceberg and tomatoes with strips of tomatoes. Yuck! Entrees were forgettable. I thought the owners were found for fine dining??? Go here is you want another Applebee’s or chilis but with higher prices. Get it together. We want high quality ingredients, farm-to-table and artisan cheeses… Been back three times, trying to give them a chance. Not good. Food is weird. They’re trying to be creative, but it is not tasty. They should try a focus group of their customers and alter their menu based on the feedback.

Since moving back to central Texas we want to try the independent restaurants. Our first visit was good enough for a second try but not yet recommended. Ordered the roasted chicken which was good and moist but not worth $ 14. The bride had the Lemon Chicken and it was tough and stringy. The waiter offered to replace with something else but she was content. They did deduct it from the bill and the manager offered to replace it also. So with that said they do care so I will definitely try them agsin. They are now open on weekends for lunch.

Went there for the first time last night. Loved the décor. Started with wings for an appetizer. Were shocked when there were 4 very large chicken wings on a plate. Way too big for an appetizer and not as spicy as we were led to believe they would be. On to our entrees. My husband had a seafood pasta dish that he scarfed up in almost one bite. He loved it! I ordered what could have been really boring, roasted chicken with zucchini. Both were excellent, very flavorful and I would order them again. We also had a side of their Tots which were excellent too. I ordered unsweeted tea and I found it very weak. All in all we were happy with our meal and we will go back.

Great new restaurant in Georgetown. Great burgers, appetizers and beer selection. Came on a Wednesday night which is half wine bottle night. They carry brands like Silver Oak and Franciscan. They had my wives favorite Prickly Pear Shiner! Won her over.

I’d really love to give George’s 5 stars but we had to wait an hour for our food! Nonetheless, it was a great experience: classy restaurant, great food, friendly service. Our server Andrea was very attentive, caring & thorough. They bring you a little plate of hummus, which I thought was a nice, healthy alternative. I had the Twisted Cosmo Martini(Hendrick’s Gin, fresh lemon, lavender syrup, white cranberry with a lemon twist & sugar rim) … delicious! For dinner, I ordered the Fig Jig Flat Bread Pizza(carmelized onion sauce, tomato-fig relish, provel & bleu cheese crumbles. topped with Sriracha toasted almonds) which was a marvelous combination! This was my first time visiting G-Town, sad to say, but I can’t wait to go back… it is a charming little town with a lot of new developments!

First time at George’s. We had the Wonton Poppers for an appetizer. The flavor was amazing and it was happy hour so it was $ 2 off of appetizers. It was a little cold in the middle, but we were starving so we ate them anyway. My husband got the $ 19 Center Cut Sirloin. The portion size is good and it is flavorful. But that is the price we pay for a filet. The cheddar mashed potatoes were a weird texture, not mashed potato texture, more gritty. Wouldn’t get them again. I got a Avocado Swiss Burger. The burger was really good. I ordered it with a side of zucchini and it was pretty good. They were supposed to sub the fries but I got the fries too and they were really good. We will be back to try other items. Looking forward to trying the Asian Fire Shrimp. Would have given 3.5 stars if I could but not quite a 4 yet.

I was totally craving a burger tonight… a GOOD burger. I had yet to find one in Georgetown… until tonight! George’s will now be my good burger go to place! I was surprised there was going to be a wait at 6:00 pm on a Sunday, but we chose to sit in the bar area, so they sat 7 of us right away. The atmosphere is nice and the building itself is nice. Next time I want to sit on the outdoor patio. They give you a complimentary super yummy hummus to start. We ordered the fried ravioli, wonton poppers and waffle chicken fingers to start. The ravioli was great! I didn’t get any of the poppers since my picky 10 yr old gobbled them up before I could get one! So I’m guessing they were pretty yummy. The waffle chickens weren’t too bad. The 10 yr old(who is crazy about chicken fingers) didn’t like them and we had a couple left over, so probably won’t get them again. The kids got the flatbread pizza from the kids menu and all finished them. Hubby and I got burgers. I had the bacon cheddar burger with fried onion strings. AWESOME! Apparently they make their own meat blend and meats are grilled on a wood fired grill. The bun is a sweet roll, which I love! The fried onions were so darn good I wanted a plate full! All in all, a great visit and I will definitely go back!

Gave George’s a go for happy hour and here is what I think. The restaurant itself is nice; open and clean with a nice enough décor. I didn’t like the faux entrance in front and having to enter from the back of the restaurant. Very odd. The service was friendly and efficient. The drinks were good. I had the Salty Chihuahua. Correction, I had three. My friends and I also slit three appetizers. The stuffed wontons, the fire shrimp and the roasted guacamole. The stuffed wontons were okay. A bit cold in the center and the accompanying fire sauce was delicious. The fire shrimp were probably my favorite, and the portion size was good. The real miss was the guac. It is $ 7, $ 5 on happy hour and it was half an avocado, still in the peel, scored, but not cut out of the ‘shell’ and stuffed with pico, seasoning, and cotija cheese. Here is my issue. I don’t want to have to make my own guac at a restaurant. I would suggest scooping it out of the peel, dicing it, then perhaps returning it to the peel. Furthermore, it is a tiny amount of guac for the price! It wasn’t even a large avocado half. We also ordered the salsa side which is an extra dollar. The salsa was in a one-ounce shot glass! Considering how cheap salsa is, and that many restaurants include it for free, we found this to be borderline ridiculous. It wasn’t very good salsa, either. Very bland and generic. No garlic, onions or cilantro visible. Only tomatoes and a little seasoning. Not sure if we will give it another try. Chuys free nacho bar is just down the road.
