Amazing fresh lobster !! You pick the size you want and they show you the live freshly caught lobster before you eat it ! The seating area is right by the scenic islands and you can watch the boats catching lobster as you eat! Tried the fried fish and it was also flavorful and crisp! They didn’t have fried scrimp when we went in August because it was not«in season» as they said.

Five Islands Lobster Co. was an adventure to get to, and an all-around A+ lobster-lover’s experience. Out on the end of a working wharf in Georgetown, Maine, you’ll find Five Island Lobsters in an unassuming, rustic«shack» with a smiling staff waiting to take your order. After reading about Five Islands in several magazines, it was a must on our Maine weekend mini-vaca to satisfy my need for a local, boiled lobster dinner. The menu is straight-forward, the process is simple: choose the size lobster you want, the live lobster is weighed in front of you and put in a rope bag, you pay and are given a number, and the next time you see the lobster is when it is delivered to you hot, cooked, bright red and ready for you to eat. I also ordered corn on the cob and boiled potatoes, both cooked in the salt water with the lobster. The boiled lobster was delicious! The lobster meat was sweet, tasting of sea-brine and salt, cooked to succulent, tender perfection, and I kept forgetting to dip into the drawn butter because the meat didn’t need it! The boiled corn and potatoes tasted of the lobster and the sea. The prices were reasonable, especially when eating lobster plucked straight from the same ocean you are sitting near. You can’t beat the views from the picnic tables on the pier: ocean, boats and islands as far as the eye can see. Well-worth the scenic drive!

Lobster roll was very small, very disappointing… Haddock looked good. Fries are those coated extra crunchy not fresh kind. The whole lobsters looked better, should have had that instead. People brought there own drinks and little coolers, that was nice.

While the food is good, not great, you cannot beat the setting in Five Islands Harbor. Voted the prettiest little harbor in Maine, there’s a reason Five Islands is the go-to. Having been to several wharfs in mid-coast Maine, I haven’t been to one that I enjoyed more than Five Islands Lobster Company. While the fried food is ok, the lobster shack has lobster that was caught that day by local lobsterman at a reasonable price.

Tourist trap… Check. Overpriced Lobster Roll… Check. Haddock Sandwich… Check. Fried(everything) seafood… Check. Amazing views… Check. Double Check. Yeah I’ll be back… do yourself one favor tho… don’t order the burger. It’s horrible! Literally McD’s is better. Its really bad! It’s all kids working there, so the food is only going to be marginal at best. Stick to the lobster and the grilled haddock and you’ll be fine.

Getting there is half the fun. Scenic country Maine roads that lead to the coast. From Bath head south on 127 and when you get to the end of the road you’re at 5 Islands. This was my first lobster roll, and it was fantastic. The setting is perfect. A lobster shack right on the water with some picnic tables and BYO. My gf and I drove from Portland while visiting the area in October and it’s well worth the trip — a perfect Maine experience. The lobster roll was delicious. If I’m ever back in the area I will definitely make a pit stop, and seek out more gems that dot the coast. Happy eats!

My boyfriend and I found Five Islands on a whim. I was really in the mood for some seafood over Memorial Day weekend, and I am pleased to say that I was VERY pleased! My boyfriend’s father and I both ordered the regular lobster roll(priced at $ 15.95 which isn’t terrible), his mother ordered the Fish ‘n Chips, and Jared had the Fried Scallop basket with Onion Rings. The lobster roll was delicious. Very lightly dressed in mayo(which I prefer) and on a traditional hot dog bun with a large lettuce leaf. I would have preferred to have a most toasted bun, to give the sandwich some good crunch, but overall I was very happy. I was told the Fish & Chips were fried to perfection and that it was also quite flavorful. The scallops were delicious, as were the onion rings. I had never had fried scallops, and so I managed to steal one from Jared’s plate and was so surprised as to how much I enjoyed them! I’m excited to make some scallops of my own now: D The seating is all outdoors, so in the summer be ready to wear some sunscreen. It can get pretty toasty, I’m sure. There’s a few tables under a smaller awning-type area on the wharf, so look out for any available spots there! Overall, I’m very happy with Five Islands. I’d definitely be up for going again.(:

Uh… absolutely awesome. Best place for a summer lobster feast, where freshness is in the flavor. The lobsters are literally being hauled off the boats as you sit there and eat.
